Hi,
When you logout the "who's online" section is about 2-3 minutes behind the activity of the site therefore after you logout it will take a few minutes for your status to not show.
Also if you want to ensure 100% you are logged out you can clear the cookies in your browser. I trust that helps and clarifies.
