Lack of discipline in different spheres of our life is usually the greatest hindrance in our moving forward with the Lord and his plans for us.
We are all different. For some discipline comes easier because of their temperament, upbringing, and other factors
For others it is harder.
As we progress in time across the history of the church one hundred years ago up until now we see more and more the watering down of spirituality as we move forward.
Why is this? These Saints had something our modern Christianity does not have.
It is most likely the simplicity of life, the very little distractions in comparison to today that they enjoyed which helped them to be people of prayer and solemnity.
These modern times have destroyed our ability to live like the Saints of old.
To spend long times in meditation, prayer and perusal of God's Word.
Communion with the Lord has been relegated.
