"Why is there so little forethought in the laying out of time and employment, so as secure a large portion of each day for prayer? Why is there so much speaking, yet so little prayer? Why Is there so much running to and fro to meetings, conventions, fellowship gatherings and yet so little time for prayer'? Brethren, why so many meetings with our fellow men and so few meetings with God?"-Andrew Bonar "We have not been men of prayer. The spirit of prayer has slumbered among us. The closet has been too little frequented and delighted in. We have allowed business, study or active labor to interfere with our closet-hours. And the feverish atmosphere in which both the church and the nation are enveloped has found its way into our prayer closets…"-Andrew Bonar "0h brother, pray; in spite of Satan, pray; spend hours in prayer; rather neglect friends than not pray; rather fast, and lose breakfast, dinner, tea, and supper - and sleep too - than not pray. And we must not talk about prayer, we must pray in right earnest. The Lord is near. He comes softly while the virgins slumber."-Andrew A. Bonar
Prayer Neglected
Wow. Deffinatly true quotes to think about.
"Those incentent knocks at our door, and perpetual viists from idle persons, are so many buckets of cold water thrown on our devot zeal. We must by some means secure uninterupted mediation, or lose power."-C.H. Spurgeon
Oh my dear brother Greg!!! What awesome sayings are these! What a process this is..."I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will look forth to see what he will speak with me" (Hab 2:1)Thank you very much for these quotes. I pray that God will lead and guide you in all truth at the Bible college. Keep the surrendered heart brother. Keep boasting in Jesus Christ and no-one and nothing else! Many greetings in Him,Paul
Oh my dear brother Greg!!! What awesome sayings are these!AMEN! Let this, then, be our first lesson: the presence of God is the chief thing, in our devotions.Andrew Murray
you've got it......Lets bury those words in our hearts.Tonight , 8 or 9 PST I'm going on my knees, enough of this lameness. God bless you Greg
Tonight , 8 or 9 PST I'm going on my knees, enough of this lameness. I will join you.. bless you brother Neil.
I think I'll join you both.If i have calculated right (I am sadly ignorant when it comes to these things) it will be 12 midnight Eastern standard time when it is 9 Pacific...Thanks for the post Greg! I printed those quotes...powerful.
I thank you all for this site ... only last night i was talking to a friend about this part of christianity,... this quote reminds me of the chapter in Isaiah 59 ... "Then the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice. He saw that there was no man, and wondered that theere was no intercessor" ...I myself will join you in agreement and to unite in prayer. It may not be in the same time with you guys but surely I will be in prayer in the early hours of mornings.Claudette,
that was. Ever since I started shaking the tree here in Topanga, I've been under intense attack. Last night's prayer time, I felt you both with me united in prayer, wonderfully knit together in the Spirit. God IS good, in so many ways.Got Bible study today, but a 10 pm PST, I wanna go to my knees again.
The neglect of prayer is very sad but I find it worse that this SI forum has 122 replies on the thread about Benny Hinn but the ones on prayer seem to have little replies.
Me too Neil! My prayer time last night was so wonderful...and God filled me with such love for you and Greg. Can we keep doing this? If we could agree on a time and then convert for our own time zone we could all be praying for revival at the same time. I am so excited at the possibilities!God Bless you.(I will join you tonight at 10 pm PT - looking forward to it. :-) )
freecd, I'm with you, I know what you mean, its grievous, but its always been that way, why do you think Paul admonished us about "foolish controversies". Travailing intercessory prayer is a hard business. You call for a potluck dinner, you get the whole church, call for a prayer meeting..................I thank God I read that post of Greg's with a yielded convicted heart on my own unprofitability in the economy of God, and resolve to get back to the old standard He put of me of travailing prayer.I thank God our brother Stephen will be joining in....please freecd, consider joining us. Its getting so bad in the world, that ALL we CAN do is pray in the Spirit on bended knees.Much love, Neil
you cant see my face, but I'm grinning so much. The fellowship of His joy (and sufferings) The Spirit that gives rise to the joyous burden of prayer, such love is the love of Christ in us. There's no other religion, or faith, where God takes up tabernacle in our hearts. God is so good, and he sees your sacrifice, I mean the fact that 10 pm here, PST is 1 AM there...thank you so much dear brother.Neil
The neglect of prayer is very sad but I find it worse that this SI forum has 122 replies on the thread about Benny Hinn but the ones on prayer seem to have little replies.I know what you mean dear brother but at the same time it is hard to talk about a subject of prayer and more easy to practice it. But I agree with you that there should be more discussion and talk about revival and prayer in the forums. That is why recently I started to look back in the history of the "Revival Praying and History" forum section, here is a post about that: Revival Praying and History (forum post history)If we could agree on a time and then convert for our own time zone we could all be praying for revival at the same time. I am so excited at the possibilities! This is interesting.. It is awesome to see God putting burdens on people from ALL across the world to pray for revival. I agree brothers there is a definite need for this! One worry is that it is easy to say you WANT to and also to sign your name on a website, but to really do it is a whole other matter. (I will join you tonight at 10 pm PT - looking forward to it. :-) )I would love to do this and have this something that we can do possibly everynight?? Even if we pray for 10 minutes, 30 minutes or hours.. let us get on OUR knees at 10pm PST!! (thats 7pm Easter Standard Time). I will pray about starting an section where people can signup for this and stay accountable. I know sharing how the Lord is blessing us as we pray will encourage others also.I thank God our brother Stephen will be joining in....please freecd, consider joining us. Its getting so bad in the world, that ALL we CAN do is pray in the Spirit on bended knees.I know God is going to honour those who determine to pray to him daily!Psalm 119:108: Accept, I pray, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, And teach me Your judgements.Psalm 119:25: My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word
I can do this every night but I think you may be wrong about the time conversion. Every source I have checked says that we (Eastern) are 3 hours ahead of you (Pacific), so when it is 10 there it will be 1 here.
can do this every night but I think you may be wrong about the time conversion. Every source I have checked says that we (Eastern) are 3 hours ahead of you (Pacific), so when it is 10 there it will be 1 here.Yes you are correct brother Stephen there is an 3 hour delay ahead of time for the eastern side of Canada, paticularly Toronto where I came from. I am currently in California studying at Bible College. I will God willing pray for revival at this time also, let us pray for each other also that God would burden our hearts to prevail in prayer for this cause! Bless you brothers and sisters as you pray.
I'm at the house church now, (for Bible study) and I'm excited. I'm excited because I actually feel , deep, in the depths of my heart, that the seed of something might be planted, this will be the burden of my prayers tonight, at 10 PM. (2200 PST)Greg, I encourage you to start a section where we can come together, and report the work God has been doing IN us as we pray to Him(nightly?), a place to testify and (mayhap) prophesy (?) (could we get so blessed?)I think so.....no! I know so. It aint like we're asking for gold caddilac's.Revival.When I first got saved, the very first non-canonical book I devoured was "Azusa Street", by an intense prayer warrior Frank Bartleman. Please God give us the burden You laid on Frank Bartleman and David Brainerd, and lay it in my heart, Greg's, Stephen's, "freecd's", and the thirty other saints who will join us. I'm so excited Greg, God bless you and see you in the Christ Jesus tonight.(u2 Stephen)
Amen. Yes Lord God give us a burden!! Share with us your heart...and give us strength to persevere (the flesh is weak!!).God bless you brothers.Anyone else who will join us - we will unite to pray 10 pm Pacific Time (1 am Eastern).
I feel so bless reading this post of agreement in prayer for the Lord had put it on my heart to pray for the revival too, I know it would not be easy but the Lord will give us a strength to do it. This is not co insidence for me to come across this site. It is so nice to read a topic with the same mind and desires that God Him self lay upon the hearts of others. God had given me a vision two weeks ago people are coming into the churches with the trembling heart of repentace. They will come in trembling heart and in true repentance, in wailing cry of the heart, crying and calling unto the Lord Almighty, As we come and dwell in His presence and stand in unity.“Unity” in one mind, in one spirit, in one voice of praises and worship of His goodness for we worship one God. God promised that He would open the Heaven of blessing and His Glory will encompass the churches. His Glory will fall unto the churches. We are to worship and praise Him in Spirit and in Truth, and that's what He required.I will be praying with you guys at 1:00 am in agreed time.Thank you so much for this blessing and oppurtunity to be part of this.Claudette
I will be praying with you guys at 1:00 am in agreed time.Wonderful! I'm looking forward to it.I feel so bless reading this post of agreement in prayer for the Lord had put it on my heart to pray for the revival too, I know it would not be easy but the Lord will give us a strength to do it. This is not co insidence for me to come across this site. It is so nice to read a topic with the same mind and desires that God Him self lay upon the hearts of others. Good Morning all,God is Good isn't he, i have to tell you this I have agree to be up with you guys to pray in the early hour of the morning, but for some reason i was totally become so tired by 11:00 pm. But God is faithfull He made it possible for me to stayed up to pray. A friend rang me need to talk we just fellowship through the phone and we finished chatting until 1:00 am and i was full of joy just feel so alive and enable me to pray faithfully in spirit and in truth.Claudette
was asking God that this be the start of something. I don't what kind of "something", bowing to the sovereignity and creativity of God, He will mold the 'something", and let that something be a revival, a worldwide revival Lord. I pray for workers and worms of Jesus to bless the island of Sumutra, it is ripe for the harvest, they have learned the awesome and fearsome power of God. I prayed last night that the revival start in a three foot diameter around Greg and Stephen (and me), that wherever we three ARE, in this temporal space, that the revival starts around US, that we carry the Light, we carry the Lamp to light the path of the lost, while it is Today. I begged God to help me love more, and He said you have to minister...MINISTER to those I have given you. Don't be eager to get away from them, coz they're disturbing or weak or bent or broken, but listen to them and love them and minister to them, as I to you, for I am in you, and you are in Me.He also told me to recieve love, dont be afraid, recieve love. Thats what the Spirit spoke to me last night at 10 PST.....maybe that should be the name of this cyber prayer club..."10 PST".Claudette, thank you for joining us, I count Stephen in Toronto, Greg in Murietta, me in Topanga, and you in ? Lets pray that we can get memebers for 10 PST in another continent...then we can figue out what the time is in Greenwich mean Time.May the Lord be attentive to our pleas tonight, and may our spirits be willing. Praise the Name of Jesus!!!
Let's keep prayingAMEN brother, even though I prayed for 10-15 minutes still it was a time that was blessed by the Lord. May He continue to burden our hearts for intercession for the lost and to cry out and plea for revival in our own hearts.Psalm 119:154: Plead my case and redeem me; Revive me according to Your word.Psalm 119:156: Great are Your tender mercies, O Lord; Revive me according to Your judgements.Psalm 119:159: Consider how I love Your precepts; Revive me, O Lord according to Your lovingkindness.May the Lord be attentive to our pleas tonight, and may our spirits be willing. Something that is interesting is that I have been praying about starting an prayer movement at SI, in which people would have to find another person in their area to pray with to form a group and commit to praying for revival at least once an week. Then they would be listed on the site! Also another crazy idea came to me about starting an live audio conference tool just to host an international prayer meeting once an week or more on SI! brothers pray that the Lord would give me wisdom to only start the things that He fully confirms.Getting people to pray is something I am seeing as an essential towards the day we live in.
Hi Neil, I am from Australia, but not born here only a resident."... and He said you have to minister...MINISTER to those I have given you". This is what the Lord done to me last night ministring to her about God goodness for her to rang that late night is not normal here :D. Oh, my dear friend God is good in every way. quote:May the Lord be attentive to our pleas tonight, and may our spirits be willing. AmenClaudette
Psalm 119! Thats the burden for tonight....you hit it!I get on my knees in front of a ratty couch. (yeh I'm smiling...austere is the adjective I seek)and I sometimes light a candelabra when I pray over Scripture, and tonight I'm gonna pray over the 119th Psalm, which is a masterpiece of worship and revival. Thank You brother, you gave me the thrust and the burden of the prayers tonight at 10 PST
Psalm 119 It is the word i am encourage to read today...I will be with you in spirit Neil. i have a prayer group tonight here at my own home normally we finished till 12:00 am, and i will encourage my group to go on in prayer till 1:00 am or so i am so encourage with this. I am so uplifted in my spirit for what God had shown me in my vision, being taken to place... Oh, my brother in Christ it is such a privallage to be part of this. Yes it is revival start from our own self by our own obidience in Christ it will overflow through like a living water. Psalm 119:38-40... Establish Your word to Your servant, who is devoted to fearing You.Turn my reproach which I dread, for Your judgements are good.Behold I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness.Thank you guys for letting me to be part of this call of God, I hope no one mind due of me being new to this site. :-)
Wonderful!! Greg I will pray that God grants you wisdom. I am committed to this. From now on I have an appointment at 10 PST! My prayer last night was that God would bring us each to a place of readiness to do WHATEVER it takes to see revival. Brothers its at the point where its all I can think about...whatever it takes lets do it. But lets keep PRAYER at the center.Looking forward to this precious prayer meeting. May God give us more who are willing to pray at 10 PST!!
Claudette - thanks for joining us! Just a thought...you mentioned difficulty with 1 am. this will be difficult for me too at times because of morning commitments (plus my wife likes it when we go to bed together) - so I will just set my alarm and get up for the half hour/hour. The believers in the early church used to get up every night at 12 to pray...it might be easier then staying up...for me it is anyway. and this might help others who find 1 am too late.
What time do you make it? World ClockTry it again next week when all the Summer Times have settled down.
Hi Stephen, I find it's much easier to just stay up till the ordain time that been agreed with, which only had started last night. It's about 10:00 pm PST, and i think it's about 1:00 am here where I reside. Your wife might be encourage to pray with you. It is very true that 1:00 am is very late and hard to keep awake. I find it very difficult myself due of having to run around with my children during the day. :-) But God is gracious He will give us strength to do it if this is what he want us to do. May God will be done according to His calling ...God Bless may our Lord Jesus Christ enrich you and your wife in your walk towards the rewards that waiting for you at the end time.Claudette
last night, The Lord really burnished my heart with verse 25 and verse 28 of the 119th Psalm;(I'm quoting from the NIV, I pray thats ok with you)119:25"I am laid low in the dust;preserve my life according to Your Word". (I capitalized 'Your'and 'Word', in the Spirit, theres a divinity inherent to those words)119:28"My soul is weary with sorrow;strengthen me according to Your Word".I believe the genesis of revival is that the worms of revival are broken, humbled and laid low.I won't, and I can't go into a long personal testimony, but my soul IS weary with sorrow, and I feel laid low a lot of time, HENCE my only true Joy is the Word, meaning Christ the Word.I have experienced much loss recently, and I long for the Heavenly Jerusalem at times. I don't mean that in some weird suicidal trip...no no no, but what I mean is that the junk of the world weighs on my spirit, and is hard to bear, as God breaks me. This is good. Its getting to the point where all I really care about is that God be glorified, and that Jesus recieves the true reward for His sufferings, which is the lost sheep of the this fading world being brought to Him. This is revival. What precious time of prayer we have, I feel you both in the spirit, and this is so joyous a time of communion that we take with the God Most High, this is Life! The rest is dross, waste and throughly unprofitable. Should we set a time that would be better for you both?Tonight, let us lay a covering of prayer over this forum, and let me tell you why. If you've ever had a New Testament survey class, they will teach you of how the Lord came in the 'fullness of time', there was a Pax Romana, the peace of Rome, meaning a stable empire, there was a common language, a literary language, Greek, there were synagogues, places of worship throughout the empire and THERE WAS A REMARKABLY EFFICIENT ROAD SYSTEM........let me pose this to you, could the Internet today be the remarkable 'road system' that spreads the Gospel throughout the world? The Full Gospel can be transmitted IN A INSTANT to ANYWHERE on the planet. This website spreads the Gospel teachings of some giants of the faith and allows us, their children in the faith to communicate with one another on this forum, and do what we are doing right now.Don't think for a second that the enemy wouldnt want to trash this blessed ministry tool and rip it asunder, but it won't happen because we are going to cover it in the Blood of Christ.Tonight, at 10 PST, I'm going to pray over this bit of Holy Scripture from Hebrews 12, verses 22 through 24:"But you have come to Mount Zion, to the Heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the Living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyous assembly, to the church of the first born, whose names are written in Heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a New Covenant and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel".can you see that? That is for us.amen.
Good morning to you all,Neil you mention to your post, you be praying a bit of Hebrew 12 verse 12 till 24 ... Last night The Lord done a marvelous thing to He given me a prayer partner for this not only to have a company in praying but this is lay upon her heart to do the same thing,... in our prayer group last night one of our member had brought a copy of a propercy from 1998. This propecy given to by The Five Angels of the Continents that reveal to Dr. Samuel Doctorian 16 August 1998 on the Ilse of Patmos."http://www.whatsaiththescripture.comAnd my brother Hebrew 12:22-29 is one of the scripture reperence given. And thats where the Lord got us to focus on last night, we are in prayer whole heartedly to God until we are no longer able to keep going ...I am so thankfull to God for this avenue given for us to have this fellowship through the internet ... May the Lord God not to permit the enemy to come and take this from us, May He continually allow this communication to able to encourage one another through out the world. May His protection and guidedance to the leaders of this communication encompass them. In Jeusus Name I pray.ClaudetteMay this massage bless you well.
God's blessings to all my brothers and sisters, to Stephen and to Claudette, and to any others who pray in the 10 PST.I just want to testify as to what the Lord spoke to me during prayer last night, and I'm eager to hear of your testimonies. The Lord graced me with a ministry of tears last night, mourning and broken, because I fear that revival will never come to a land that embraces this culture of death, and the worship of power and money as does my beloved homeland America. Please, I don't say that to irritate anybody, this was the witness the Holy Spirit gave me during prayer.I was also overcome with thankfulness that Jesus would save me, that He would deign to consider me a friend of His, that He would love me. I started saying "Jesus, I love You", and I would hear Him say "I love You too Neil", and I would get so overcome with a wave of gratefulness that was unbelievable. Then He laid this Scripture on me:"I tell you the truth, anyone who will not recieve the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it" (Luke 18:17)This absolutely floored me, as Jesus is protecting me. From some reason, I've never been drawn to all the different theological doctrines and all that ......thinking, that head knowledge. It was like when I started living off the bit of Scripture, "For when I was with you, I resolved to know only Jesus Christ and Him crucified."Like a child! I teach children's church and that must be why I'm popular with them as a teacher of the Faith, I'm just like them. I trust Jesus, I trust God, Jesus told me He would never leave me, never forsake me, thats all I need. I don't need the head knowledge, I've had that all my life, and its emminently deceptive. I need heart knowledge, I need the witness and the annointing of the Holy Ghost that leads to Godly sorrow. Blessed are those who mourn.anyone who will not recieve the Kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it....that was so key for me last night.I must tell you all, I must thank you all, at how this prayer ministry has blessed me, and strengthened me.I believe that what we need IS MORE TEARS.I'm not speaking of mere emotionalism....no no no.Blessed are those who mourn. Please Lord bring us revival.Until then we shall mourn.More tears Jesus.Thank You Lord, for letting us share in the fellowship of Your sufferings.Thank You for the Blood of the Lamb.Come Lord Jesus come.amen.
Greetings to all of you my net friend :-),Neil i have come across this Phrophesy given out few years back (The 5 Angels of The Continents by Dr. Samuel Doctorian), and thats how the Lord spoke to me what to pray, and the book of a chinesse brother "The heavenly man", I have instructed to fast and pray. This is the prayer I am led to pray:2Chronicle 7:14-15.If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and PRAY AND SEEK My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then i will hear from heaven, i will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My eears attentive to prayer made in this place.Being a mother of 4 it is hard for me to keep my promised, and being instructed to fast and cooking meal for my family is a bit hard for me me being so close to the food and smelling the aroma of the wonderful smell, it does put the temptation in my belly :D, but God is good He always make an anvenue for me to make sure i will be able to do my commitment, and be faithfull. It is time is short. May God have mercy on us. Claudette
The Lord graced me with a ministry of tears last night, mourning and broken, because I fear that revival will never come to a land that embraces this culture of death, and the worship of power and money as does my beloved homeland America. Amen brother! That is very much what God has been speaking to me. Thank you for that. This absolutely floored me, as Jesus is protecting me. From some reason, I've never been drawn to all the different theological doctrines and all that ......thinking, that head knowledge. It was like when I started living off the bit of Scripture, "For when I was with you, I resolved to know only Jesus Christ and Him crucified."Amen! It is not childlike faith that is stifling the faith of today's church...rather it is human wisdom. Leonard Ravenhill (Why Revival Tarries) says: "One of these days some simple soul will pick up the Book of God, read it, and believe it. Then the rest of us will be embarassed. We have adopted the convenient theory that the Bible is a Book to be explained, whereas first and foremost it is a Book to be believed (and after that to be obeyed)."thank you Neilgin for your testimony and thank you for this prayer - it has been a tremendous blessing to me also. I hope others will join us as God leads them. looking forward to tonight.Your brother in Christ,Stephen
Thank God for this ministry of prayer, and thank God for the both of you, we three are getting knit together in the Spirit via the ministry of prayer.I pray that others will join this precious ministry of prayer, in Jesus Name. amen.see you tonight in the air.Neilps...I pray that our 'fourth' Bro Greg Gordon join us. :--)
ps....Sao Paolo, Brazil.....something is happening there, I've had this nudge in the Spirit for months now. I don't know What this something is, but It has to do with our Lord Jesus Christ.
I pray at 7:30am est every morning. If anyone wants to join me at that time. I am praying for revival.
I will be able to pray with you in that time freecd. I have been praying continually when ever i got a chance beside the time we have agreed PST & EST, but tonight i would'nt be able to stay up for 1:00 am due of my work i have to have asleep, and start work at 4:00 am. But just abit early tonight the Lord had got me to pray that the preacher would start bring His word with reverance and repentance to the pulpit, not about give so you may be bless. Instead Bless God for He already done it all for us already bless by giving His life on the cross. And there are more to it but really need to go to sleep.I hope you all be bless with the Holy Spirit in your prayer, ... "the fervent prayer avail as much".Claudette. :-)
Bro, is the Lord leading you today/tonight and tommorrow with any Bit of Scripture we shud feast/meditate over whilst on our knees?anybody else, pleeeease feel free as led by the Spirit to throw in the Scripture for tonights prayer time.Neil
This is the scripture I have tonight while I am at the church, and again just then when i was in fellowship with another friend here at my home we were in paryer and talking things about God. As we are in one spirit and one body in Christ we are given us one calling ...I have to stop my babling on ...Here is the scriptureMatthew 10: 17-20But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, do nor worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it's you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speak in you.2 Chornicle 7:14-15if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn to their wicked ways, the I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and Mears attentive to prayer made in this place.
Glory! Thank You sister Claudette. Mt 10:17-20 + 2nd Chronicles 7:14-15.May I add another? This verse spoke to me while I was in devotionals this morning.the doxology from Jude, verse 24 and 25:"To Him Who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious Presence without fault and with great joy- to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen."Tonight at 10 PST, I hope you all will join me, on our knees, crying out, heavenward, to God, and in the Name of Jesus. And while we cry out, to think of Jesus presenting us to the Father with great joy!Our salvation, our Godly walk makes the Lord so so happy. Our prayers are like incense to Him, they are our offerings to Him, our priestly burden.Father, all we ask, dear God, awaken the church, revive the half dead, drab cold church. What commends us?Just coz we are on our knees? There is only one Thing that commends us:Christ in us.Pray for revival....please.
I say amen to what youhave post Neil,Just want to share this thing what happen to us here in our church last night; My friends and I went to a prayer meeting last night at the church, the meeting started with the singing and worship then went on to prayer my heart trembling, my spirit want to scream out to tell them to wake up for them self, but i know i can't ... my friend that sitting beside me ask me what is wrong with me, so i told her what i am feeling, so she just comfort me in prayer and then the prayer coming out from the pastor is change it's different and strong, he felt to pray for the nation and for the revival to come then we follow him in his prayer i just new in my spirit my friend recieve a vision from God ...I ask her what did you see? You have given a vision and she just start crying and crying then she compost herself and told me, she saw the heaven and three angels ascended from heaven and so bright that she could not discribe and she can't stop crying she said it is coming ... she said the three angels with long bright robe followed with massive amounts of angels wents out in different ways, all she can continually say is it is coming as she continually sobbing, ... and i know in my spirit it is happening, and it is from God the vision she have. She's sharing me this on the way home while we driving the kids that noisy at the back of the car went all quiet, the presence of God in the car is so strong i was parying in spirit and crying out Oh lord thy God have mercy on us before thy land before be open, may this nation come to repentance, ... This is not a joke things to share here, my whole being is shaking my body temp are rised up, my friend end up driving my car back home.My friends do not cease to pray ...Love you all in Christ Jesus,Claudette
REVIVAL IS COMING COME TO HIM WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART DEPART FROM EVIL WAYS
freecdI'm usually praying at that time, but knowing that you are partnering with me for prayer re:revival would be awesome.Feel free to join us at 1 am eastern even if you have to go to bed and set the alarm...so far its working for me. God bless you
WOW!! Praise God in the highest!!That is one car ride I wish I was on!!oh man! GLORY!!! God is so good to us.y'know Claudette, there is stuff that happens in the Spirit we cant even communicate in human words.GLORY!!!Thank you and God bless you for sharing that wonderful testimony, keep them coming, amen.
Just a scripture to share,Philippians 1:6 (NJKV) being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.I pray that He (Jesus) who start the work in us will give us strength to be faithfull to the end. Lift the hands of the feeble hands ...Love in Jesus NameClaudette
thank you for the precious Holy Scripture we shall feast on tonight at 10 PST.
Dear Claudette, Stephen, Greg and Robert W. if your reading this, and anybody else who stumbles across my soul meanderings, I've spent the morning just waiting to type my thoughts on this forum. I've been letting the concept, "how can we live without revival" sit in my heart for several days now.How can we live without revival, how can we go day after day with the same prefunctory "church life", no mystery, no majesty, no sweep, wednesday bible study to sunday celebration service to the odd potluck dinner to leadership meetings and breakfasts...week after week, and month after month....and God forbid, year after year. There's a certain ecclesiastical tyranny, and bondage in all that.so, we've began, at Greg's leading, to pray for revival.Revival, as the Spirit leads me to see it, is to become saturated, dripping with God. This morning the words came to me, "waiting upon God, waiting on God".I asked, Lord, what does that mean?to wait upon You. What does that mean?I went to the small concordance in the back of my study Bible, and looked up "wait", I got as far as Psalm 130:5+6.Bless God!(this is NIV, my apologies to anyone this version offends, but here It is)"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word I put my hope.My soul waits for the Lord, more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning."I know that God is sovereign, my heart knows it. Revival will be on His timetable, I was disappointed as my heart said that. he asked me, "why do you ask for revival?""why do you ask for revival?"why do we?...those that do.I stopped, and have been asking that of myself for a few hours now.is it because i want a good time in the Holy Ghost?and what my soul keeps coming back to is this: Revival is to become saturated with God.Yes, to be FULL with God.When will be the time we become FULL with God? When we see Him in Heaven. We seek revival as we seek heaven, as we seek to be with Him.Do you know those precious prayer times, when you are so so close to Him?...and you dont want those times to end, you don't want to get off your knees, but you eventually do.Thats the Lord giving us a tiny sip of Heaven, and I believe thats what genuine revival becomes, a tiny sip of Heaven.Thats why I pray for revival. To the 10 PST prayer club, can we sup on the 130th Psalm tonight?....in fact as the days go by, can we investigate the penintential psalms? they would be Psalms 6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130, 143.I feel the Lord calling us to investigate and search out those precious psalms, and intercede for the lost using these Words.May God bless your prayer time tonight at 10 PST.love, Neil
I am not content to live without revival- so I don't. I have been having my own personal revival for a couple of years now.I believe that there is a revival going on, it is one here and one there and it is all over the world- yes even in America. When the Lord looks down on it, He sees it as a revival, not just a big group in one or two spots, but a scattering of His people all over the world.Today's revival begins with personal revival. Things are not going to be the same way they have been in the past. God always has a remnant, a people who He is calling out to to give their all.Ever read "Escape From Christendom"? This revival we read about at the end, the one in the wilderness, one person who gives living water to another here and there. As one is revived they inturn go and find and help someone else who needs to be revived with living water. And on it goes until the Lord comes to shake down all that is false in christian city.Anyway, I think it is a mistake to focus on one aspect of our faith- wether it be revival, holiness, repentance... it is Jesus Christ we are to preach, Jesus Christ we are to seek, Jesus Christ is our all in all. Those things are "about" him but they are not HIM. I WANT HIM, I don't want the things that go along with Him. I don't need power or moves of God. He IS power and if i have Him, He is all I need.Well, I could go on. But God has His own ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts, His ways not our ways.Neil, what you heard, is also what the Lord has showed me.He showed me that we are to stop looking for "something else". a new move of God, revival, etc.... and show the world how content and satisfied we are with HIM. That nothing compares to HIM. That He is enough. While the world goes on in discontentment- looking and searching for fullfillment, turning to idolatry, we are His living epistles who can show that HE is all we need, He satisfies and we don't need any idols (any other loves) or anything else.Just my thoughts :)In Him, Chanin
"why do you ask for revival?"Because I am jealous for God's glory!! It breaks my heart to think that we - this impoverished church - are the reward of His suffering.I want God to be renowned all through the earth! I want His Church to truly honor Him - I want God to get the pleasure He deserves. I have prayed that God would share His heart...and He does in little bits - and I can't take it...I believe God's heart is hurting and when I can I hurt also...but there is still too much flesh.I believe that there is a revival going on, it is one here and one there and it is all over the world- yes even in America.I don't believe this is revival. It will be revival when people are swarming into churches...when football stadiums are empty (Praise God!!)...when bars and strip clubs have to close down - that will be true revival. We are experiencing perhaps a mini revival but I am looking for true supernatural revival...and i know it's coming!!Today's revival begins with personal revival. Things are not going to be the same way they have been in the past. God always has a remnant, a people who He is calling out to to give their all.I believe you are right here...it won't be about some famous speaker, but revived individuals all over the place transforming their communities.God bless you brothers!! See you at 10 PST - thanks Neilgin for Psalm 119 - it was a great time.Anyone else want to join us at 10 PST?
I feel the Lord calling us to investigate and search out those precious psalms, and intercede for the lost using these Words.I have felt this also of late. How can we live without revival, how can we go day after day with the same prefunctory "church life"It is interesting that you would use that word 'prefunctory'. We have a man who is roughly 75 years old who came to our church to speak about 4 months ago. He is the Chaplain at our local county jail. He told us that he had a dream in which the Holy Spirit told him that He was tired of his perfunctory ways. This guy is no flake and is not used to this type of thing. He did not know what the word meant so he typed it in and found the definition. The dream set him on a course for repentance and revival in his personal life. At first he was upset that God would tell him that after serving so many years faithfully. He then came to his senses and agreed with God and God did a major work in his life. He was a changed and revived man. It was an awesome and inspiring testimony. God Bless,-Robert
"prefunctory", I used that word contextually, knowing what it means, but not the precise definition.......check this out, according to Random house websters , its really "perfunctory...p-e-r....we lurn something new everyday....here's the definition, and its enough to shrivel up one's unction. performed merely as a routine duty, hasty and superficialif that aint enough to give you spiritual indigestion...no joke.I'm gonna pray this weekend for holy dissatisfaction, and what I mean is this: Ted, the pastor of our assembly is my friend, I'm gonna pray that the Holy Spirit lays me FLAT on my face this Lord's day...and I will lay out in front of the whole congregation....not show offy, or to call attention to myself, but to express how I desire to humble myself in front of God and the assembly....ENOUGH of this everyday wal-mart, one size fits all church.......its TIME TO REPENT...its time to get desperate..Brother Robert, I know one o'clock in the morning is late , but if you wanna start praying at 10 CST...go for it, I'll start at 10 PST......if the Spirit leads you, please....join us....
Quote:performed merely as a routine duty, hasty and superficialThis is totally true. Why I say this? It's the same thing what being impress to us here, in the home group we have is in the same theme, it's only yesterday Friday 08/04. I share about the Colosians 3:start at vs 5it go on to vs 22 NKJV " Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice,as a men-pleasers, But sincerity of heart, fearing God....Sharing this verse and giving the simple understanding of it, and many in the churches of today is doing exactly like this kinda of work for God. ... If the Truth reveals to the heart of man that in this category of work they do actually get upset, :-o or scared in some way choise is to REPENT!!!. By sharing this as my heart tells me so, I have been accuse of pointing finger to one particular person, and I'm condemming her as she said. All I did is share the word of God that impress in my heart. She's actually a decon/usher in the church :-(. We must realized that God is preparing us for His return it may be years before He actually turn up but as it's said He will come like a thief, it will be a surprice if we are not thoroughly incline with the Holy Spirit we will missed Him, I don't want to get left behind. It is the waiting time But we must keep the oil lamp fill so the light will keep burning. (Read Matthew 25 The Ten Virgins: BE PERPARED).Pray that we will not slumber nor sleep.I am just a housewife and a mother who try to love the Lord with my all, and speaking from my heart, KEEP YOUR LIGHT BURNING and have that extra oil ("annointing?") May the Love of Christ grow deeper in all of us.Yours in Christ Jesus,Claudette
