Christian TV host asks God for ‘military takeover’ of Obama’s presidency

S
sermonindex

A Christian TV host this week called on God to consider a "military takeover” of President Barack Obama’s government because it could be the only way to save the country from tyranny.

On his Monday Internet broadcast, Morning Star TV’s Rick Joyner predicted that democracy was "doomed” unless the Lord imposed martial law.

"The balance of powers in the legislative and judicial branches were supposed to balance and keep in check, hold in check, the potential tyranny from the executive branch overstepping their bounds,” Joyner explained. "The people are not always right, it depends on what people they are. And another thing the founders warned about is this thing will only work for a moral and a religious people. You remove morality, you remove the religious influence, and it cannot work.”

"We’re headed for serious tyranny, a terrible tyranny right now,” he continued. "But guess what? The kingdom is coming, the Kingdom of God is coming. And America is not the Kingdom of God. I think we have been used in some wonderful and powerful ways by God, we’ve been one of the most generous nations in history. We’ve done so much good.”

"That’s why I appeal to the Lord: Don’t let us be totally destroyed, please raise up those who will save us. And as I’ve been telling friends for a long time, no election is going to get the right person in there because the system is so broken.”

Joyner added that the "only hope is a military takeover, martial law.”

"And that the most crucial element of that is who to the martial [sic] is going to be,” he said. "I believe there are noble leaders in our military that love the republic and love everything we stand for. And they could seize the government.”

Watch this video from Morning Star TV, broadcast Sept. 30, 2013.

The irony is that the present government shutdown is an attempt to strike down a law that was passed, whether you like the law or not, legitimately. It was passed by congress and the senate, signed into law, challenged up to the supreme court and tested in a general election where it was the made the central issue and the country chose. We are witnessing lawlessness whereby the country is held hostage and shut down by a minority who cannot and will not accept any other opinion other than their own.

You know what would be really impressive? If there was a government shutdown over Roe vs Wade. Now that would be something, but big business does not care about that issue. It's all very sad and I might add, very dangerous. Now we have " Christian," leaders talking about using force to save the country. Hmmm, wonder where I have heard that before. I say to America " beware." Yet , more than likely this is the judgement of God playing out before our eyes. We are a country without statesmen and the people are at each others throats and it is not getting better. Lawless days lie ahead.............bro Frank

Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Rom 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Paul's letter is to the Church.

What Joyner is suggesting to the Church has no precedence in the NT and the root of his suggestion is FEAR.

He does harm to the Church (bring the wrath of man onto it)to suggest this, putting us in the crosshairs of the present administration.

Israel in the time of the Early Church was occupied by a foreign power, yet not only was Romans 13 penned, but also 1 Timothy. Because Joyner names the name of Christ, nothing good will come from his public statement to overthrow the present government. Appalling!!

1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1Ti 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Hi Frank,

You are in biblical error when you suggest that Congress is somehow 'lawless' by voting against government run healthcare. To suggest this is not rightly dividing the word of truth.

Using your line of reasoning (again, I've communicated this to you personally) the 3 Hebrew children were rightfully thrown in the fire for their rebellion due to the fact that they disagreed with the majority.

Additionally, the law HAS NOT been 'tested to the Supreme Court' there are countless challenges to it in Appeals courts now (see Hobby Lobby).

Please Learjet, do not put words in my mouth. I did not say that the congress is lawless by voting against this act which is now law. Please re-read the small paragraph I wrote and see that I said that it was lawless to shut the government down to try and derail an act that has already passed into law and has been ruled constitutional by the Supreme court.

So do you condone the President allowing big business to have a year grace period, and "WE The People" have no grace period and will begin paying today. This is a perfect example of the "Double Standard America" we live in, this is why folks are fed up and have shutdown the government. Thank God at least right or wrong, we have some folks in Washington fighting for us, if not the Government would have already taken over, and our freedom would be completely out the window. Rather anyone wants to believe this or not, we are headed to a socialist nation, if you can't see this your blind, deaf and dumb.

We are witnessing lawlessness whereby the country is held hostage and shut down by a minority who cannot and will not accept any other opinion other than their own.

Men voting the way that their constituents are asking them to vote is not lawlessness my friend and for you to insinuate that is biblical error.

Yes, I understood perfectly what you meant, and what you mean is biblical error.

Many thanks!

Mr. Bear, I am not arguing if it's the law of the land, it's just not the law for everyone yet, just the people not big business. How about we adopt a law that says, if Mr. bear runs a stop sign he gets a ticket, but if any big business vehicle runs it they will not get a ticket until one year from now.

I think Rick Joyner is playing into the hands of Homeland Security. That agency has already classified followers of Christ as terrorist. So to make such statements is simply going to invite a roundup of Christians who will be considered as enemies if the state.

A more likely scenereo is the President declares martial law if this shut down continues and we come to an economic slow down. But the same thing plays out. Christians are rounded up and put in Federal detention centers as enemies of the state.

Can't happen you say? Then explain the incarceration of Japanese Americans by FDR during WWII. And that was done be executive order.

Bearmaster.

S

Hmmm.... I actually read the article. Not exactly as seems to be portrayed .. which is typical.

In part the context had to be understood.

Joyner clarified what he was saying -

He states that righteousness is severely lacking in our government and appeals to the Lord to save this once great land. He speculates that a military intervention may be the only thing equal to that task.

Is he correct in that assumption?

It is true that many military leaders who are seen as less than willing to subvert the constitution have been forced to retire the last few years. There has been a clear attempt over the last several years to put as many senior leaders as possible into place that will unquestioningly obey orders from the white house regardless of the implications against the constitution,

Bearmaster, no one has to like Obamacare and they have have the freedom to work with their State representatives to repeal it. Do you know how I know this?

SLAVERY WAS ONCE THE LAW OF THE LAND, too, but no longer.

My observations are:

The President is already breaking the law by making exceptions for over 1200 groups.

It is very interesting that one side accuses the other of operating outside of the law to change the ACA law, while (ironically) the President himself is operating outside of the law and changing it for some groups at his own whim. He and his side are calling the other side anarchists and he does not see that what he is doing (operating outside of his law by changing it for some) is the same thing.

For the record (again), I strongly disagree with Joyner on his suggestion for the military to overthrow the Admin. Lincoln was part of 600,000 Americans dying, let's not do it again.

It is truly sad and irresponsible, Colin. I hope the Church repudiates him and I think many are, through emails and articles. He should repent publicly of his very public statement. How do we expect the Lord to work through the State if we set ourselves up as enemies against them for things other than the Gospel? God gave us the KJV through the state and He has worked through them on many others things to give us a peaceful place to live. But Joyner is just "bucking" for a fight and it has nothing to do with the Gospel.

This is an "evil work" by Joyner.

I thought 90 percent of the work of the KJV was the work of William Tyndale who was executed by the state for translating the Bible into English.

Only a few years later a King called James took credit for work that had been done by one of God's martyrs executed by said state.

This raises a very interesting question .... at least for Americans. British and Canadians may have their own interesting perspectives as well I suppose.

The question then is this -

Do you hold that the US War of Independence was then an unjust war and done in clear violation of God's Word in the Romans 13:3 verse you quoted?

Was the Declaration of Independence conceived in rebellion to God and the Revolutionary War and subsequent US Constitution then based upon raw rebellion to God and His ordained authority?

Were the founders of the Republic also engaging in an "evil work" in your opinion?

I don't know that I really have a strong opinion myself. However on the surface it seems that however a person views one might be how they have to view the other.

After all ... when it is said and done the US War for Independence from Britain was fougt over taxes. It was a tax revolt pure and simple. The British believed that the colonists should foot at least part of the costs for garrisoning the troops there to protect them. These British troops were in the colonies at the colonists request. When asked to pay part of the cost of their expenses by a small set of very modest taxes the colonists revolted. British powers responded with force to "enforce" the taxes ... each side amassed arms... shots were fired at Concord ... and the rest is history, as they say.

Would people today feeling they were having a similar taxation set on them without just representation in their minds be in the same position as the colonists?

Were the colonists being ungodly? Is a person rebelling at what they believe to be unjust taxes being ungodly?

Not sure I really have an opinion yet but it is very interesting to consider and it will be debated more and more as this plays out. It may be important for churches to get the mind of God on this as it will certainly become a front burner issue for more and more people.

If ever we needed wisdom it is today!

Quote: Only a few years later a King called James took credit for work that had been done by one of God's martyrs executed by said state.

Not a few years but 76 years...and the he was murdered in Brussels which is in Belgium.. not in the UK..

In 1535, Tyndale was arrested and jailed in the castle of Vilvoorde (Filford) outside Brussels for over a year. In 1536 he was convicted of heresy and executed by strangulation, after which his body was burnt at the stake. His dying request that the King of England's eyes would be opened seemed to find its fulfillment just two years later with Henry's authorization of The Great Bible for the Church of England””which was largely Tyndale's own work. Hence, the Tyndale Bible, as it was known, continued to play a key role in spreading Reformation ideas across the English-speaking world and eventually, on the global British Empire.

His version worked prominently into the Geneva Bible which was taken to the New World to Jamestown, Virginia in 1607, and on the Mayflower in 1620.

Notably, in 1611, the 54 independent scholars who created the King James Version, drew significantly from Tyndale, as well as translations that descended from his. One estimate suggests the New Testament in the King James Version is 83% Tyndale's, and the Old Testament 76%.

The King James Version (KJV), commonly known as the Authorized Version (AV) or King James Bible (KJB), is an English translation of the Christian Bible for the Church of England begun in 1604 and completed in 1611. First printed by the King's Printer Robert Barker, this was the third translation into English to be approved by the English Church authorities. The first was the Great Bible commissioned in the reign of King Henry VIII, and the second was the Bishops' Bible of 1568. In January 1604, King James I convened the Hampton Court Conference where a new English version was conceived in response to the perceived problems of the earlier translations as detected by the Puritans, a faction within the Church of England.

Hi Solomon,

I cannot speak for unbelievers or believers and in fact can only speak for myself. I believe the NT is clear when interpreted by the Holy Spirit, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ is not of this world, IF IT WAS, "then would my servants fight". I cannot bring myself to believe that we are called to overthrow governments with carnal weapons.

Not sure I really have an opinion yet but it is very interesting to consider and it will be debated more and more as this plays out. It may be important for churches to get the mind of God on this as it will certainly become a front burner issue for more and more people.

You are absolutely correct! But, I believe Jesus..."And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another." Mat_24:10

You have to understand that most of us only theorize in this forum and have not been in situations that truly test our theories (beliefs) and that includes myself. In the coming days, it will be evident what many are willing to do or not do and what each one believes. We read history, but until the things that happened 200 years ago, begin to happen to us, most of us don't really know how we will actually act. You and I will surely have more than an opinion if we live several more years, in fact, Whether one has opinions or convictions now, they will both be tested, soon.

I met an African pastor once from Uganda who was invited to speak in the states. I had to pick him up at his hotel and bring him to the church. All I had was a motorcycle but he did not seem to mind and even enjoyed it. When we had time to speak, I asked him what he would do if Muslims invaded his village to burn houses and kill people? He said, "it has already happened and that they defend themselves and fight back". I have thought about that answer for years especially when I find myself in discussions with others who have never experienced an attack on their life.

I have also learned that it is foolish to pretend to know what you would do in a situation where you have never been tested, so I won't say anything. But, if a similar thing ever happens to me and my family, and SI is still around, I will let you know what I did, Lord willing.

I can tell you that one way I am being tested today, is by what is happening in the USA regarding the overreach of our government and the "foundations" being destroyed. I am being tested to worry and become bitter and hateful and calloused and take things into my own hands. I refuse to do that yet recognize the propensity exists in me so I am drawing closer to the Lord and asking for faith and a soft heart realizing I lack both, many times. I know the love of many will grow cold in these days and don't want to be one of the "casualties".

The state is a fickle thing, bearmaster. No glory goes to it yet God will use it or work through it.

If Israel had rebelled within Babylon and not been good citizens, would Cyrus' actions have been different towards Israel?

It was Babylon that captured Israel, and Babylon that let them go even providing financing for the rebuilding of Jerusalem.

This is why God calls us to be good citizens no matter if we live in America, Russia or Venezuela. We are to respect the laws and honor the king trusting Him to turn the heart of the king rather than you or I overthrowing him. It is a much better testimony when God does His work.

This was written during the time Israel was occupied by a foreign army.

where in the quote did I say that it was lawless to vote?

Hi again Frank,

You said it right here:

We are witnessing lawlessness whereby the country is held hostage and shut down by a minority

These congressmen are exercising the same rights that the democratic majority used to pass a law that was against the will of the people of the United States, on a party line vote.

My prayer for you is that you will get yourself into a Godly Fellowship where you will be challenged by Godly men to defend what you say rather than picking up your toys and going home OR pretending that you didn't say what you clearly said.

Your false accusation and implication that these men and women who voted against funding socialized health care are somehow 'lawless' needs to be repented of. The people in their district voted them in to office for that very reason, as much as you hate to hear it. These people create laws, so they are free to be either for or against it.

You can be sure that the spirit of anti-christ is close when we start saying that voting against anything is 'sinful' unless the Word is clear on the issue, such as abortion.

When we start adding things to the Word of God, we are in a dangerous area:

"I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll." `Revelation 22:18

How did I add to the Word of God friend?

You added to the Word of God to make their voting on a budget amendment (which you happen to disagree with) into a matter of sin where the actual Word of God is mute on the issue, thus adding to the Word of God.

No budget was agreed apoun, one side is no more responsable for the government shuting down than the other side.

So their is no need to call the one side lawless, and act as though the other side is working within their rights.

Charisma news account :

In his weekly Prophetic Perspective on Current Events broadcast, Rick Joyner predicted the destruction of America’s republic””maybe even during President Obama’s second term.

Joyner prefaced the Internet broadcast entitled "Has Democracy Failed?” by warning viewers that he would say some things that may be shocking. The segment was filmed on the day before the government shutdown.

From Joyner’s prophetic perspective, the republic of the United States of America is crumbling because of tyranny from the government and from the people.

"There’s no way this republic can last much longer," he said. "It may not last through Obama’s second term. There are a lot of people who feel it can’t. There are forces at work right now seeking to undermine and destroy the republic. There’s almost a glib and joyful disregard of the Constitution, a belittling of the Constitution. We can’t make it without that. That’s our foundation, our moorings. We’re heading for serious tyranny””for a terrible tyranny right now.”

Despite his strong words, Joyner is not all doom and gloom. He believes the republic can be restored. His heart’s cry? "Don’t let us be totally destroyed. Please raise up those who will save us.”

As Joyner sees it, no election is going to fix America’s problems because the system is broken. He believes our only hope is a military takeover””martial law.

"I believe there are noble leaders in our military that love the republic and love everything we stand for””and they could seize the government,” he said. "I am not advocating this. I am just telling you what could happen. They could seize it and help restore the foundations, help restore the Constitution.”

Although Joyner is not calling for martial law, he is calling for a radical change. The housing market has made great strides toward recovery, and the government is reporting some positive economic signs, but Joyner's still not convinced the worst is behind us. In fact, Joyner said the nation is "tottering over the abyss right now, and any little breeze could push us over.”

Still, he’s not without hope for revival.

"There are many great signs of revival and awakening in America””incredible things happening," he said. "I believe we’re going to see a Third Great Awakening in America within the next couple of years. It’s going to be massive. It’s going to transform America. It could help restore us to the foundations.”

Joyner also predicted an "inevitable” collapse of the U.S. dollar but said it could lead to a jubilee””a new beginning if the right people are in leadership. His conclusion? We have to turn back to God as a nation.

Some are ridiculing Joyner for his prophetic prospective. What do I think? I don't have an opinion, per se, but I do have a prophetic word that I hold tight to. On April 21, 2007””before I had ever heard of Barack Obama””the Lord woke me up in the middle of the night to give me this prophetic word:

"There is a great awakening coming to this nation. For I have heard your cries, and I long to heal your land. I am a covenant God, and I will not forget the covenant I made with your Founding Forefathers. Yes, there will be a shaking, but the foundations will not crack, and they will not crumble. Only those things which can be shaken will be shaken, that the sin in the land may be laid bare.

"Repentance. I require repentance from My people who have through the generations allowed the enemy to take ground in this nation. I require repentance for the abortions and for the prayerlessness. I require repentance for the apathy and for the idolatry. You shall have no other gods before Me. I am indeed the God of America.

"Yes, there is a great awakening coming to this nation. I am the Author of it, and I will bring it to pass. Just turn from your wicked ways and humble yourselves. Stand in the gap, and make up the hedge. I am the Lord, and I am a warrior. I will not leave or forsake this country. I will fight through you and with you to regain what has been lost.

"Be encouraged now because as you go forth boldly with My Word and My Spirit, there will be the sound of truth, and it will prevail in the land. Speak boldly and clearly, and watch as the mighty men arise to take their positions on the wall and in the churches and in the marketplaces. For I am raising up deliverers and reformers in this generation who will not shrink back at the challenge that is coming in the days ahead.

"Yes, it will grow darker before My light shines brightly from this nation again. But the light has not been extinguished and will not be extinguished. The time to rise up is now. I am calling you to war. I am calling you to repentance. I am calling you to My side. I am the captain of the hosts. I am calling you to victory. I am calling you to destiny. Will you answer?"

Bear writes....

"Hmm. I think I see the spirit of Geneva here. The scary thing is this is the spirit that will persecute the remnant."

This is true brother :) As you and I have discussed many times on the phone, there is a coming persecution of the saints and it will come from an amalgam of religious folks and the state.

It is worth noting that Jesus was such an enemy to the established order of things, that typical enemies came together to come against Him. The Pharisees and the Saducees, their scribes and lawyers and the Herodians and the zealots. They all came against Him because He had not come to restore their country to " it's rightful place." They were so proud of their country and it's Godly foundations and look, even the Temple was in their midst. Yet Christ Himself said to these proud men, whose love for their country, for their way of life, for their position in society , that not one stone would be left unturned of the thing that they idolized the most. For what is anything if the presence of God does not burn in it.

And so, 30 short years after Jesus died and rose again, His words came to pass. The Temple, which had stood for 1000 years was gone. The country that existed for 2000 years, gone. America, so proud of her laws and her freedoms and her founding fathers and her constitution need to know that if God did not spare the temple or Israel , then how do they compare? The question is, is America marked for judgement? And if she is, then where does the Royal Priesthood stand? Below is an excerpt from Eusebius.....

At the beginning of the fourth century, the church historian Eusebius writes:
The people of the church in Jerusalem were commanded by an oracle given by revelation before the war to those in the city who were worthy of it to depart and dwell in one of the cities of Perea which they called Pella. To it those who believed on Christ travelled from Jerusalem, so that when holy men had altogether deserted the royal capital of the Jews and the whole land of Judaea, the judgement of God might at last overtake them for all their crimes against the Christ and his Apostles, and all that generation of the wicked be utterly blotted out from among men. (Hist. eccl. 3.5.3)3

Brethren, let me say that brother Earl is a wonderful brother and also brother Frank. If you were both in the room together you would not say such strong statements towards each other. There are issues many are frustrated with and discouraged yet in reference to the Church of Jesus Christ it really does not matter what happens in the end with governments, they will come and go, we must focus more on our kingdom which our King (president) is Jesus Christ the Lord.

I see both brethren as right to a measure that yes we must accept whatever becomes of a good government even if it becomes a bad one. Secondly we must not be against the Lord using each party in the government to achieve His purposes. To me neither side is really right in the end, they are simply authorities that we must submit to as much as possible so the Gospel will not be blasphemed. But there will be a time to disagree with the government when we cannot obey our Lord Jesus Christ.

We must not speak ill or strong to brethren in this time, it is a time to pray and seek the unity of true brothers of which Earl and Frank are. I love you both dear brothers.

Let us also be like Jesus in the hard times now and ahead and pray for those who persecute us and love our "enemies". Let's not speak evil of one another whether those who are "in Christ" or those who are not.

Sure, everything is crumbling and everything is being shaken until that which cannot be shaken will be left, but let's not tear at and devour one another through the turmoil, ahead.

I won't stereotype brothers and sisters in the Institutional Church as being my future enemies as there are many there that love the Lord. I am determined in Christ not to harden my heart against any man, especially those who are creating onerous laws and burdens to lay on me. This is a time of great testing, brothers, for everyone of us in different ways that are applicable to each one, personally. The Lord is refining us all.

I assume the LORD wanted me to see this tragic, grievous thread....its tragic to read the actual content, which is what I want focus, but equally tragic, is the evil urge of eviscerating a brother in Christ...."Mark this man and not eat with him".

how weary I am of the misappropriation of the Word of God, and the yammering pattern of "christianese", utilized to buttress the ego and pride of a fleshling, arguing over the spew of Babylon.

That aside, regarding the OP.....has not anybody the yet to CONSIDER THE "MESSENGER"?

Rick Joyner?....first...IF you see ANYTHING that is put forth announcing itself as a "prophetic message"...or a man, bellowing that he is a "prophet"....rest assured, he is anything BUT....FALSE, and is a liar, who listens to the soft sibilant tones of his TRUE father, that is, the father of all lies.

Did not brother Andrew Strom CLEARLY unmask this false prophet in a series of video's, detailing the hellish apostasy of this man and other men who head up a religious institution, so bad, so wrong....you could make shipwreck of what Messiah shed His Blood for?...this Most Holy Faith.

and was it NOT Rick Joyner, who couldn't MOVE FAST ENOUGH, to "recommission"....Todd Bentley?...and put him "back on the circuit", so they could serve their TRUE "god", which is money?

and now this scheming "son of sceva" calls for a military coup?....oh no, wait.....he DID put a very slick rejoinder in there, that that's not what he's saying....oh no, he's just giving a "prophetic message", in the same vein many of those poor deluded souls trapped within his apostate religious institution engage in such hellish foolishness as peering into one another's mouth's for "gold dust", or roll about the floor of these "churches" of satan in "holy drunkenness".

Did ANYBODY consider the messenger of this fell false "prophesy", before some start to tear at one another over the dictates of this "babylonic" nation we all live, where pleasure is worshipped, where money is worshipped,, where violence and military might is worshipped?

this false prophet, Rick Joyner is but an instrument of the "god of this age", that we have been WARNED about by Messiah Jesus, most specifically in Matthew's Gospel Account.

If any of you want to read the Holy Ghost riot act to anybody, phone or email whatever demonic haunt that apostate false prophet Rick Joyner is holed up in....that is IF God the Holy Spirit LEADS you to do that.

I have NOT been led to do that....nor waste any time FUSSING about the comings and goings of Babylon's "polis" (politics), fore it is ALL UNCLEAN, and Yahweh DEMANDS SEPERATION from such brazen wicked uncleanness.

Fore separation is the genesis of holiness...hence if you "eat" Babylon, you become Babylon...REMEMBER saints, that Gate is Narrow....and the road to destruction is wide, choose with fear and trembling, for our God is a consuming Fire.

Earl, your words are ill spoke, cast aside pride, beg forgiveness, the time is short, cover all with love in Messiah, I implore you, neil

It seems like the messenger is of little importance as long as they say the things people want to hear brother Neil. There will be strange bed-fellows in the latter days, I have no doubt of that. We see the Herodians and the Pharisees and the Sadducees, laywers and scribes all coming together for their mutual interests and handing Jesus over to the Romans.

I appreciate your words and your love brother........bro Frank

I asked this a little earlier but it got a bit buried. However, I would appreciate the various posters views on the following question and thoughts -

This raises a very interesting question .... at least for Americans. British and Canadians may have their own interesting perspectives as well I suspect.

The question then is this -

Do you hold that the US War of Independence was then an unjust war and done in clear violation of God's Word in the Romans 13:3 verse earlier quoted?

Was the Declaration of Independence conceived in rebellion to God and the Revolutionary War and subsequent US Constitution then based upon raw rebellion to God and His ordained authority?

Were the founders of the Republic also engaging in an "evil work" in your opinion?

I don't know that I really have a strong opinion myself. However on the surface it seems that however a person views one might be how they have to view the other.

After all ... when it is said and done the US War for Independence from Britain was fought over taxes.

The way they might feel this way was that approximately 70% of people informed the representatives that they did NOT want this Obamacare put into place. The representatives rejected the majority desires of their constituents and voted to pass it anyway.

The Supreme Court later upheld it a "A TAX". As Congress has the power to tax/spend the Supreme Court held Obamacare as constitutional AS IT WAS A TAX PASSED BY CONGRESS. Those are the exact words of Chief Justice Roberts. It "IS A TAX". Many seem to now then view that as taxation without representation (70% of the people rejected it yet their representatives impose a massive new tax on them anyway).

Were the colonists being ungodly? Is a person rebelling at what they believe to be unjust taxes being ungodly?

I would appreciate your opinions as to whether you think the founders and colonists were in rebellion to God in revolting. They did so for a far, far, far less tax burden than is currently being imposed.

What does Jesus Christ say?

Jesus Christ says, pay our taxes. He did not say, pay only "just" taxes or start a war (resisting with bloodshed) over "unjust taxes".

Rick Joyner probably agrees that those were "just" wars, but the concept of "just wars" is not NT or the Spirit of Christ. It comes from Augustine and the Catholic Church and has infiltrated Protestant churches as "Dominionist Theology".

Again, Jesus did not say, pay only "just" taxes. He was telling a nation to render taxes to another nation that was forcibly occupying them. He did not say, "Render to Caesar only fair and just taxes". The very act of being occupied by a foreign nation was not "fair and just".

Jesus never mentioned anything about "unjust taxes".

That is my answer, what is yours? What do you think?

Brother Greg: I appreciated all that you wrote and I am in agreement together with you in spirit and truth.

Dear saints: this is not our home. For our citizenship is in heaven and we are not to love our life (psuche, natural life), even to the very death. For we are not lord of our life, but Jesus Christ the Lord is our life and we have been bought with a precious price and we are not our own. Our riches come from above where Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father "in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all." Also, Christ is ever interceding on behalf of you and all the saints. And ohhhhh how I need intercession because Kenneth L. Martin must die daily so that Christ might live through me to the glory of the Father.

I have spent many years studying the remnant throughout history, the signs of the times, etc. With all that has been going on in our government, Kenya, Libya, Egypt, Iran, North Korea, Japan, etc., etc., etc., and the many parts of the world there has been one verse recently that has been comforting me: "Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God." Let me emphasize the words in this verse which have been encouraging me in the Lord: AUTHORITY comes from God and may I add that God is love.

May God have mercy on me and His bride. May we be all that our dear Lord went to the cross to purchase. Let us prepare ourselves together in Him to meet Him as a chaste, pure and undefiled virgin. I for one need a lot of cleaning up and hope that my dear brothers and sister will come alongside me to the cleansing of all filthiness of the flesh and spirit in the fear of God.

Love in Christ,

Kenneth and Bia

Solomon you asked a fair question. But to answe it would require a separate thread. One that I don't know if I would want to start now.
