Concerning the end of the age

F
followthelamb

"Much of what I believe concerning the end of the age comes from a vision the Lord gave me in 1971. In it, I saw a city blanketed by a deep, thick darkness. A feeling of great hopelessness and desolation prevailed over the region. Like the darkness that descended as a judgment over Egypt, this also was a darkness that could be felt (Exodus 10:21).

Those whom I was with were outside the city. We had been "baptized" in a glorious and powerful light. In the vision, I actually experienced the power of this light surging up from my innermost being and out through my hands. A visible splendor shone from our bodies, especially our faces.

Suddenly, people by tens of thousands started streaming out of the darkness. As they approached, they were calling on the name of the Lord. We prayed and laid our hands on them and they, too, received the light.

I lay awake until dawn pondering the vision. It had been my habit to read the Word of God immediately upon waking. As the morning light began to enter my bedroom, I opened my Bible to begin my next reading. There, for the first time in my young spiritual life, I read Isaiah 60...

It said that darkness would cover the earth, but the glory of the Lord will rise upon His people! The words bolted into my eyes like lightening, then shook my insides like thunder. It was as though I had actually stepped into a Bible verse and seen its fulfillment. The Holy Spirit and the Word working together revealed that, at the end of the age, the glory of the Lord would be manifested in His people - and multitudes would come to the Lord as a result!"

- Francis Frangipane

____________

""I beseech Thee, show me Thy Glory!” Shall we pray it, meaning it now, to the very uttermost? The uttermost may hold hard things, but, easy or hard, there is no other way to reach the place where our lives can receive an impetus, which will make them tell for eternity...

Yes, God’s Glory is our plea, highest, strongest, most impelling and enduring of all pleas. But oh, by the thought of the myriads who are passing, by the thought of the Coming of the Lord, by the infinite realities of life and death, heaven and hell, by our Savior’s cross and Passion, we plead with all those who love Him, but who have not considered these things yet, consider them now!

Let Him show us the vision of the Glory, and bring us to the very end of self, let Him touch our lips with the live coal, and set us on fire to burn for Him, yea, burn with consuming love for Him, and a purpose none can turn us from, and a passion like a pure white flame, 'a passion for the Glory of God!'

Oh, may this passion consume us! Burn the self out of us, burn the love into us””for God’s Glory we ask it, Amen."

Hi Follow the Lamb,
I dont know off Francis Frangipane but I firmly believe what is said here is correct.Their will undoubtedly be a huge influx of people into the kingdom before the end of the age.
We look and see the increasing step by step move towards evil on the earth faster and faster and faster. And if this was to continue without God stepping in then very few would be saved but he is going to step in and is already preparing for a huge intrevention.
On another issue its amazing how although dreams)(compares to visions) in the bible were used to convey major things throughout that they are wrongly dismissed in the modern day church.
Thanks for the post

I am not contesting whether few will be saved or multitudes will be saved but I would be interested in why either side believes few or many will be saved. Are you both looking at an end time prophecy in the Bible for your position, did the Lord give you a dream our vision, is there a teaching on the few or many you can point me to?

S
staff

Hi Julius21,
If you are asking did I get something from God directly scripturally I would have to say most definitely yes.
I did not have a dream or vision but this is what the Holy Spirit clearly showed me.
God pointed out to me regarding the move of the spirit in the end time.
All Isreal went out to the wilderness to see Elijah on MT Carmel
And Then When the Spirit of Elijah moved again through John the Baptist the bible says
All Judea and the Surrounds Went out to see John

When the Spirit of Elijah comes at the end time to sort out any mess within the Church then All will hear what the church has to say and either accept it or reject it.
I believe based on what happened to John The Baptist and Elijah before him that a large amount of people will be swept into the kingdom,

Thanks Staff, I appreciate your willingness to share your views.

I have often read in various places (books, internet) that a "Great Revival” will take place at the end of the age or that a "great awakening" will take place and I would love to hear more about what the Scriptures say concerning this? I don't believe I have ever seen a thread on this subject.

What I have found so far is that there will be a falling away from the faith as many will not endure sound doctrine.
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;" (2Th 2:3)

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;" (2Ti 4:3)

Christians will be betrayed by others (MANY) who are offended (ostensibly by the preaching of the Cross). "And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another." (Mat 24:10)

And ALL NATIONS shall hate the church and persecute and kill them.
"Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake." (Mat 24:9)

Jesus says that "the love of MANY shall wax cold".
"And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." (Mat 24:12)

And HE also said that the Church would be betrayed by parents, brethren, kinsfolks and friends.
"And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death." (Luke 21:16)

We see throughout history that this has happened in many parts of the world, but now at the end of the age it will be worldwide (ALL NATIONS, MT. 24:9)

As the Church will be hated by ALL MEN.
"And ye shall be hated of ALL MEN for my name's sake." (Luke 21:17)

The Lord says that people's hearts will be bogged down with a spiritual stupor and drunkenness (surfeiting) and a snare will come on ALL THEM that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

"And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares." (Luke 21:34)

"For as a snare shall it COME ON ALL THEM that dwell on the face of the whole earth." (Luke 21:35)

Is Jesus warning us not to deceived by a false hope, false security, false preaching? And cautioning us to make ourselves ready for the terrible days ahead?

"And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?" (Luke 18:7)

"I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, SHALL HE FIND FAITH ON THE EARTH?" (Luke 18:8)

Many times, in various ways Jesus said that "few will be saved"
"Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them," (Luke 13:23)
"Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able." (Luke 13:24)

"And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, AND TO OVERCOME THEM: and power was given him OVER ALL kindreds, and tongues, and nations." (Rev 13:7)

"AND ALL THAT DWELL UPON THE EARTH SHALL WORSHIP HIM, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." (Rev 13:8)
"And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon." (Rev 13:11)

"AND DECEIVETH THEM THAT DWELL ON THE EARTH by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live." (Rev 13:14)

"And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" Rev 6:10

"And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled." Rev 6:11

The Word of God paints a very serious and sobering picture of what it means to be a Christian and to follow Jesus. Today, we do see rampant spiritual drunkenness (false doctrine) and people "overcharged with the cares of this life". There is a widespread spiritual stupor that has overtaken many. Is this the result of a false security? There is no question that very difficult times are coming. There are two outstanding questions that I see: 1) How widespread will the spiritual slaughter be (falling away) and 2) Will there be a worldwide revival or is the Lord going to do a final winnowing of the chaff?

I pray all the time for a great revival in the Church and that many will be saved. We are told that "multitudes, multitudes are in the valley of decision", and "pray that the Lord send out workers in the harvest", for the Lord tells us that the harvest is "plentiful" but once again we see the word "FEW".

"Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, BUT THE LABOURERS ARE FEW; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." (Matt_9:37-38)

G

Jesus spoke of a great falling away... I for one don't have it all figured out but I don't think there will be a revival as in ages past. It will be through persecution and suffering and people will no longer to sway between two opinions. If God is God then follow Him.

Matthew 24:13. He that endures to the end shall be saved.

D
dolfan

If anybody pays attention to me for very long, I'm afraid I'll come across as the guy who thinks he's the only one saved. :\\ Hope you know that I don't.

Reason I say that is I don't see a great end-time revival in the Scripture. Perhaps -- and hopefully -- I'm blind to the truth that is there to be known, and there will be a sweeping awakening of biblical proportion, so to speak. Our God is able.

I also know that, regardless of numbers or percentages of people and all that, God's grace is not measured by how many of us walk faithfully in it. He has known from everlasting who are His, and He has known from everlasting the condescension of Himself to our low estate in the person of Jesus Christ, who suffered the contradiction and hostility of sinners against Himself, enduring the cross, despising the shame, and for the joy set before Him obeyed the Father in order to give to Him what is His, that in the fullness of time all things may be put under subjection to Him in one, all in all.

That I know. I know He will not be shortchanged. The just, perfect God that He is, He will not be disappointed in Himself. His work in us -- however many of "us" there will be -- will be pleasing and perfect in His sight.

He wants a quality Bride, pure and spotless, faithful and obedient, even unto death. If we don't bear the cross and experience the crucified life each day, what makes us think we will endure persecutions and give our life for Him? If we are wayward and unfaithful in our heart, it is only a matter of time that our inner man is publicly made manifest. Times of suffering and testing always reveal the heart. Times of great excess and worldly comfort, also reveal the heart.

We must fix our heart on the Day when we will see Jesus face to face. Then we will be more keen to purify ourselves.

Jas_4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and PURIFY YOUR HEARTS, ye double minded.

2Co 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, LET US CLEANSE OURSELVES from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1Pe 1:22 Seeing YE HAVE PURIFIED YOUR SOULS IN OBEYING THE TRUTH THROUGH THE SPIRIT unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

If I am not mistaken, dispensationalists believe that all Israel will be saved, or at least a great number of them. Not sure about the timing of this in reference to the 2nd coming but I guess that would qualify as a revival-- if true, of course.

P

As the wickedness & apostasy degenerates into fullness, the 'great tribulation' will befell unheeded like a thief to shake everything until Israel repents and accept their messiah while the chaff is winnowed from the church with the true believers persevering to the end under the grace and power of God.

And the LORD said to Moses, "...let me alone, that my wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them, in order that I may make a great nation of you.”

But Moses implored the LORD his God and said, "O LORD, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? Why should the Egyptians say, ‘With evil intent did he bring them out, to kill them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger and relent from this disaster against your people.....And the LORD relented from the disaster that he had spoken of bringing on his people." (Exodus 32)

____________

Jesus said the Scriptures cannot be broken, so I want to clarify that I do believe the last days of the age will be just as the Scriptures have foretold. But before the coming of the lawless one whom all the earth will worship, I am going to be praying for one last great outpouring of the Spirit and revival of the church--even if it must be in the midst of great persecution.

Let us ask the Lord Jesus to come to His disciples again and tell us to cast the net on the right side of the boat one last time, that a great multitude of backsliding brothers and unsaved loved ones may be gathered in before the door is shut.

HalleluYah. Our God is able!

That would certainly qualify for "harvest".

Let's see how the Word defines Israel.

"Israel" is defined as the combination of the "wild" and the "natural" branches.

"And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?" (Rom_11:23-24)

"For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, UNTIL THE FULNESS OF THE GENTILES BE COME IN. AND SO ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:" (Rom 11:25-26)

Isaiah 11:11 says the Lord shall "recover the REMNANT of His people".

"And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover THE REMNANT OF HIS PEOPLE, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea."

So, "Israel" is the wild and natural branches. The natural branches are "the REMNANT of His people", and the Gentiles have been grafted in and thus, ALL Israel will be saved.

Question: Who are the "REMNANT" of His people? Are they all ethnic Jews or Jews of Abrahamic faith?
"Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, A REMNANT SHALL BE SAVED:" (Rom 9:27)

Who is Israel, again?

"Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called." (Rom 9:6-7)

Is God speaking of a covenant nation of people (by faith) or every individual Jew in the flesh? Does God save ethnic Jews because of their bloodline or on the basis of faith? What makes them truly descendants of Abraham, ethnicity or Abrahamic faith?

Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Rom_10:13 For WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, (only) A REMNANT SHALL BE SAVED:" (Rom 9:27)

"ALL ISRAEL WILL BE SAVED", takes on a new meaning as you consider these scriptures.

Hi Julius21,
Sorry been out all day missed most of the threads.
Just to clarify not you Julius but what I see as having ur cake and eating it.If we take it that the falling away is from the church(this has been debated like a tennis ball)but if we take it has such and lets say for arguement sake that their are one billion Christians and the falling away comes from that One Billion Then it leaves a Further 7 Billion left on the planet that the "Great falling away" cannot be about if you see what I mean.So why can the people swept into the kingdom not be from them?
So the great falling away arguement either way you look at it sheds no light on whether their will be a a large influx of people into the kingdom. It either depending on what you believe explains what the Church will be like in the end or what the world will be like.
Also the Term REVIVAL is a Misnomer and is not an accurate term to use in this discussion.Revival is not a lot of people getting saved.Alot of people getting saved can be a result of Revival but it is not the only way that alot of people can get saved.Millions of people can get saved without Revival happening in the Church.
I am convinced with every fibre by what God showed me that will be a huge influx of people into the kingdom.

Elijah comes before the great(Christs Cruxifiction) and Terrible(the second coming)day of the Lord
The first time he came he preached "his winnowing fork is in his hand" and every one went out to see him and the second time he will preach "his winnowing fork is in his hand" and every once again will come under the ministry of Elijah

Brother, I think it is great that the Lord has revealed to you there will be a great harvest. No man can quantify saved souls, for only the Lord knows them that are His. And they who name His name should depart from iniquity. This should be the first thing to happen and I am still watching and waiting for it. For a lukewarm church is an ineffective group of harvesters.

hi Julius
No i think you missed my point it wasnt about the numbers,it was about the double standards,
People are usin the falling away theology to refute the fact that their will be a harvest and I am giving an arbitrary figure to illustrate the point.
The point is:
If the great falling away is from the church it will be a small precentage of the worlds population.
If we have a lukewarm Church precent today it is still a small precentage of the worlds population.
So to be clear no one was quantifying or counting souls but illustrating accurately that the falling away is a small precentage of the world if indeed the falling away regards to the church which is open to debate,

Ok, thanks.

A few points.

1) What does falling away from sin mean? I always thought falling away meant falling away from the faith, from Christ. How does a worldly person fall away? I am only aware of 2 types of people; sinners and saints.

2) I guess I don't know what "falling away" theology is. What is the falling away "theology"? I was not conscious of presenting any such theology, just the plain speaking scriptures.

3) Did you see my verses regarding what will happen to ALL MEN and ALL NATIONS? It is the 5th post in this thread. You will have to count them since they are not numbered.

I would love to see a great harvest of souls and a worldwide revival of the church. I see what you are presenting and am meditating and pondering it.

S

Hi Julius,
Theology is just teaching not more meant by that
The point is for me:
If the falling away is from Christ(which it could be i am not saying it isnt)Then we are only talking about a small precentage of the worlds population
We obviously dont want to see anyone fall away from the faith but when it does happen it wont effect whether their will be an end time harvest,

Hi Julius,
Three References Regarding Elijah
1.Malachi
I will send my prophet Elijah before the great and terrible day of the Lord......
2.Look at the ministry of the Two Witnesses
3.The Transfiguration
Jesus Says: Elijah IS Coming.... and WILL restore ....
He says these things after John The Baptist who came in the Spirit Of Elijah is dead. This points to a future fulfillment which hasnt happened yet.

1Six days later Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves. 2And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light. 3And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. 4Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” 5While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!” 6When the disciples heard this, they fell face down to the ground and were terrified. 7And Jesus came to them and touched them and said, "Get up, and do not be afraid.” 8And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus Himself alone.

9As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, "Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.” 10And His disciples asked Him, "Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” 11And He answered and said, "Elijah IS coming and WILL restore all things; 12but I say to you that Elijah already came, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wished. So also the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” 13Then the disciples understood that He had spoken to them about John the Baptist

Referring to the previous post of Julius21, I think from the start, in Romans 11,Paul was referring to the bloodline ofJacob as the natural branches, and the phrase "all Israel shall be saved" refers to the whole congregation of the remnant of the bloodline not the "spiritual Israel". It was not intended to mean that all the bloodline of Jacob will be save since it was already revealed that only a remnant of them will find salvation.

Assuming, that the modern Jews hoax or conspiracy is true,I do not think that this will thwart the declaration of God about the return of remnant to the land of Canaan in the end-times.

I know, big names in theology are thinking otherwise.

P

Rom 9:27 And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: "Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved.

And if only a remnant of the natural branches will be saved, it is feared that among the vast multitude of professing Christians many of them will hear the tragic reality of being never Known to Christ.

Romans 11:17-21

But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree,

do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you.

Then you will say, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.”

That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear.

For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.

Yes, and God does not save a "bloodline" just because they are part of a bloodline. The JEWS must come to Christ through the one door of FAITH, just like everyone must. That is the remnant He will save.

Followthelamb,

I'm with you on believing God has the biggest surprise imaginable for the last days. Anyone who has really spent time with the Living Word knows that the last people to ask about what He will do next is people that have followed Him for 20 or more years. They often study the scriptures but have never actually heard the voice of Him at the right hand of the Father.

Leave the speculation to the scribes and proof text experts. God has allowed the Church to paint itself into a corner. The old guard wants Him to be a cosmic bully and spank all the backsliders and prove them right yet all their knowing has produced zero fruit. He will always make them look silly as He shows up and does what ever He wants, through whoever He wants in a way that no one could have imagined. He goes out of His way to take the least deserving right offs and castaways and crowns them with an anointed calling.

He picks His David in the field, Mary the virgin, Paul the persecutor, Evan Roberts the teenager, Moses the murderer, Abraham the liar, Peter the coward, Rahab the hooker, Jacob the swindler, Martin Luther at happy hour or Mary sitting at His feet and gives them a Word, assignment or revelation and BOOM every so called scripture expert looks rediculous.

I for one have zero doubt that the Great God our Saviour Jesus Christ is going to blow every mind and at the same time destroy every opinion about what He should, can or will do in the last hours of the age of grace.

That is how I was indoctrinated to believe, and how I believed up untill recent.
Philip Mauro's "Things which soon must come to pass" A commentary on Revelations has me reconsidering my views on Israel in Prophecy.

From my research so far the idea "that there is only one Israel of God””comprised of both Jews and Gentiles who are children of Abraham through their faith in Christ." seems to be the view that was historically "held by the early Christians, the Anabaptists, the Reformers, and in fact all Christians before the 19th century."

Philip Mauro died in 1952, in 1922 he wrote a book that essentially claimed that the restoration of the physical nation of Israel is just a fable. In 1948 the new nation of Israel became a reality but it was said that God has nothing to do with it. The premise of Philip Mauro's : "The Hope of Israel:
What Is It?" is that the Gospel is the Hope of Israel. Mauro makes a very clear biblical case for this reality.

If dispensationalist eschatology is correct than I believe that dispensationalist Michael Pearl is most likely correct in what he stated in his last news letter : " The Jews are looking for a man of war who will establish a lasting peace, elevating Israel to a place of prominence-the exact ministry of antichrist. Christians are caught up in the fervor and are assisting the jews to recieve the fake Christ when he comes.

I believe based on what happened to John The Baptist and Elijah before him that a large amount of people will be swept into the kingdom,
Yours Staff

Hi Staff,

My beliefs line up more with Alan Morrison's explanation of "Elijah", in his article "The Restoration of All Things".

"Elijah" is not who you think it is -

I like Mr. Morrison's approach.

RE: ///I like Mr. Morrison's approach.///

I have not read all of the first one yet but I have liked what I have read so far, feels Sober.

In my fellowship we have an individual (highly educated)whom has become intoxicated with dispensationalist prophecies. He has gone overboard into obsession with Biltz,Lindsey,Cahn, beast watch etc.
It just does not feel Sober to me.

And It does not matter how much and how clearly there prophecies and predictions do not come to fruition. Like a brain washed cult member he defends them
An Asteroid that safely passes by Earth is to him a fullfillment of an Asteroid hitting earth.
A little minor correction in the stock market is to him a fullfillment of a majior economic collapse.

To him Obama and Hitler are ethnic Edomites in a secrete war with ethnic Israelites.

"Sober", good point, another thing to "look" for when "testing the spirits."

O
onemite

Followthelamb,
I love this.

Indeed, the world is in darkness and it's a darkness that can be felt. Some may interpret the times of its fulfillment differently, but by the end of it all,the outcome will have been the same, that's for sure!

Isaiah 60

Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.

1 Peter 1:19
"And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts..."

Which brings me to think on the result of that Truth shed abroad in my heart.
Hebrews 13 says, "Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come." And Romans 8:17, "... if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
