Gospel Fellowships Regional Gatherings 2016

Saints,

The main goal and vision of the meeting is to encourage believers in North America to connect, meet and gather in house church small gatherings. As part of this intention many house church leaders and house church networks have shown interest to participate. We also see this as a time of unity and a place where the Holy Spirit can connect us as fellow believers.  We desire this to be a time of encouragement and equipping, and a place where believers can meet and learn more of what it is to be a part of the vibrant witness and fellowship of house churches around the world.

Anyone is invited to the gathering time and they do not have to be meeting in a house church. We pray it can be a time to encourage believers to walk in obedience to Jesus Christ (James 1:22).

Note: SermonIndex is endorsing these events as good places to go to connect with like-minded believers, find fellowship to start meeting, start prayer gatherings, small house meetings etc. We encourage saints to attend these meetings in replacement of the annual SermonIndex events.

I've already reached out to the brother in ATL letting him know I'd like to attend. I also forwarded the pdf brochure to the brothers who lead the local fellowship I attend. I hope they will pass it on to the others in our fellowship. We really need this, as true believers are very hard to find here.

Fathers day is a wonderful time to glorify our Heavenly Father also! But I do understand some brethren will have family obligations. Perhaps some families will release the husbands to the meeting as a way for him to have godly fellowship on this day!

I will be attending that meeting so looking forward to meeting some of you all who are in that general area. If I can fly hundreds of miles maybe some of you can drive for an hour or two for some fellowship in Atlanta???

Sister Renee, are you the same person I met at sister Mary Beths house at the first Gospel Fellowship conference a couple of years ago? The one that Steve Gallagher and Brian Long spoke at and we had a house church fellowship gathering at Mary-Beths house on the Sunday?

dear brother,

have you read the free principles book? http://housechurchbook.weebly.com there are definitely saints who are meeting in these ways in England and other countries. The Lord is able to lead you to 2-3 other brethren to start to meet under the Headship of Jesus Christ. Start to pray specifically in this way. I miss your fellowship brother and heart for revival and the Lord's work.

Reserved the room for Friday night to be ready to meet in ATL Saturday. My heart longs to hear the reports of the Lord's doings. I pray that, as God sees fit and if He sees fit, that our fellowship together will catalyze God's next steps within each of us and our home fellowships and families.

I cannot speak for anyone else, and I don't dare to speak for God here, but I testify that I am coming apart at the seams in expectation that God is willing, ready, able and intent to give us words of truth. I hope for that as we meet; I am depending on it beyond then. :)

Theophila,

Renee and Sree may certainly add encouragement to you in their own perspectives but I will try and do it here.

1. It was thoroughly helpful. I was able to meet Renee and Sree, for example, face to face for the first time. I told Renee that I wished that my wife had been there to meet her too because she would've so enjoyed and identified with what Renee said. The Lord has refined that sister down to what matters, and it is clear that He continues to do so. She is full of passion for Him and the love of Jesus for people, and she has a laser-like focus on Him and His truth in our lives. I may never see her again this side of eternity, but in the brief interactions we were able to have I felt like I made an eternal friend. Sree -- I got to speak with him less. But, he also captured my heart. It blows me away how we seem to be on here and how much more there is about each other that we miss out on. I already liked Sree from his personality on here, but now I've embraced him as a brother physically and spiritually. So, Theophila, the first great thing about Saturday in Atlanta was meeting genuine believers and connecting with them in a heart level that overrode our distinct "pet views" that we nurse in forums (not just here, but all of them are like that). It made me want to meet more of you frequently. I can imagine how so many of our defenses will rightly yield to a spirit of love and unity in Jesus if we could meet face to face.

2. Beyond those two lovely folks, I met others I've never known or heard of and I have the same sense of unity with them. It was a maturing moment for me, really. Coming with no agenda, coming with nothing but open hands before Christ and a heart to love His people in that meeting, I walked away with a newer mind in Christ. Did every little single thing said or presented just ring my bell? No, of course not. Did every thing said or presented have its root in Jesus? I say, "Yes!". I learned more Saturday from Jesus by receiving and loving my brothers and sisters IN Jesus than many hours of serious prayer and bible study have often yielded in the past. That's not to minimize those disciplines and lifelines, but to emphasize now more than ever our complete need for and interdependency on the saints in a John 17 sort of way. I got a taste of that Saturday and I pray it takes root in me.

Theophila, as much as is in you, find a handful (2 or 3 will do well!) of others whom you trust that Jesus is doing a deep work in them, lay down your pet views (and you have them, I have them, we all do) and love one another deliberately. Be warm and kind to each other. Receive one another freely and lift one another up.

Can I give you an example from Saturday? My friend and brother in the Lord, Weaver, and I came together. Weav is part of our home fellowship, but he is also part of a Sunday brick-and-mortar church. He is still committed to that other way of living out his life in Jesus. Me? I'm wholesale, all-in on home fellowship as the way to move forward. This poses no obstacle between Weaver and me. So, here we are at this meeting on Saturday and -- man -- the whole initial reason and motivation for even STARTING a meeting in our home two years ago just came flooding back into me. I asked a brother there whom I'd only met that day to be in prayer for us to move as God will have us in terms of reaching some lost people in our community and other issues. That brother got me and Weaver, took us into a side room, and prayed right then and there for us. He didn't stop to qualify us. He didn't stop to sort out issues. He didn't ask if we were doing X, Y or Z. He prayed in the Spirit (not in tongues, but in the Spirit) a beautiful prayer that just laid out to God the very heart that I'd approached him with in the first place.

So, yes, be encouraged. They may be hours away from you. There may be only the rarest of meetings with many of them. But, there ARE believers hidden among the hedges of your place in the world and mine who have the heart of God in Christ Jesus made alive in them. Find them. Seek God for just one more.

There's more that I can say about Saturday in ATL, but this is already very long.

I was at the house church this morning of the man who will share about house churches at our gathering on the 9th. I was very blessed to be there and blessed by the saints. I am blessed that bro Brian Long will be there and our own brother Blaine. Brother Jeremy Strang and his wife will be there. Some of the saints will stay with me and I am excited about that. We have a dear sister traveling up from Texas whom we have met before in Oklahoma and a couple coming down from Nebraska. Blaine will travel to Missouri and he will travel with a two dear saints, husband and wife who are coming. So that is Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas, a whole swath of the middle of the country and we praise God for what He will do..........bro Frank

I've been looking up wrong threads wondering what happened to my question only to find your reply just now. Shaking my head @ myself.
Thank you so very much for such a detailed and gracious reply! Makes me doubly want to experience such a meeting. I'm just about sick of pet views, I just want to meet Jesus' people.
We are part of a brick and mortar fellowship with folks I'm still trying to fellowship with on a heart level. Folks seem to prefer to discuss Scriptures than to share what the Lord is doing in them. But I see light at the end of the tunnel. Opportunities are appearing for one on one fellowship time. The younger folks appear a tad more eager to share what's going on within.
Again, thank you for your reply....and no, your reply isn't long enough. Much appreciated.
