Can everyone share one (or more!) Sermon that has greatly helped their christian life or helped you through a really rough time? I know many of the helps are unique to each particular person, but I'd still like to hear. God bless!
I'll start: "When Is Not, Is" by Reggie Kelly

I have given out more CD's of this sermon and this is the sermon that I refer to the most on here. His honesty about his walk with the Lord is what moved me.
Thanks Bill for that link. To those who have not watched the video, Greg Laurie shares why it is important to be plugged into a local congregation church fellowship. Good stuff here. And I know from reading other threads that you, Mr. Bill, are in a situation where you want to be in a local church but have not found one near you. I feel for you and I don't want to throw stones at you. I enjoy your input here on this forum. But perhaps you can understand why I thought your choice of a sermon that changed you is rather ironic. Keep up your search. God knows your heart is not rebellious but tender towards him. Peace to you.

Brother Daniel said...But perhaps you can understand why I thought your choice of a sermon that changed you is rather ironic.
Brother Daniel, life can be ironic sometimes, don’t you think? You know what else is ironic? How about praying for something for a very long time and then getting the exact opposite of that which you’re praying for. God sometimes answers our prayers in completely ironic ways. This is one of the most wonderful things that can happen as we continue to serve God, we can fight him all the way, but he can always in his "very gracious" way, help us to see what’s best for us.
You said "God knows your heart is not rebellious but tender towards him”. Daniel you’re correct, my flesh was suffering from disappointment from the past church I attended, but God knew my heart to serve him among the fellowship of other believers had never changed. If the world just could act with the same grace God does, Wow! We could set this world on fire for Jesus Christ, but we have the flesh to deal with, God doesn’t. Thanks Daniel for taking the time to listen to Pastor Greg’s sermon, it’s a very powerful, truth filled and gracious sermon, and it also bears witness to the fact, they’re still many great modern day Pastors preaching God’s truth. Praise Jesus!

savedtoserve, where can you find that message?
Speaking of Reggie Kelly, I remember listening to this message and being struck by the testimony at the end. There is a weightiness in the promise of restoration of unity through adversity.
I wished I would have been there, my wife and I was still hanging out in the bars, we didn't accept Christ into our lives until 1995. Now my brother might have been there, he was saved back in the early 80's at a Jimmy Swaggart revival, I think around 1981-1982. I was only 30 in 1981 still young and dumb.
Dr.Spencer, "Such as I have” , it was at family camp through th A of G and the text was taken out of the Book of Acts and the lame man where Peter and John raised him and The Lord healed him. I’ve spent the rest of my life challenge d by that one sermon and the thought of always giving/doing with such as I have, in the Name of Jesus Christ.....fill in the blank.....
The text is about Moses living in the wilderness for 40 years and then speaking to the Lord via the burning bush.
I first heard this message a few months after I gave my life to the Lord. It was so good that I immediately listened to it a second time.
Interestingly, this was a message by David Wilkerson when he was apparently at the height of his fame (prior to Times Square Church). The message was given in Lindale, Texas (for a Youth With A Mission conference) and Brother Ravenhill was in the audience.
The message is directed at Christian workers/ministers. Brother Wilkerson actually stepped down from preaching following this message for about a year. He made it clear in the message that he didn't want to preach the Gospel anymore if I don't have a clear picture and message of Jesus Christ.

Hi Jacob Prasch has sermons "The Future History Of The Church Part 1,2,3" Im not sure they changed me but rather showed me that what God was showing me in Scripture was correct. On the Totally opposite end of the scale and although I dont reccomend his views I think the sermon "Its Friday But Sundays Coming" by Tony Campolo shows a great deal of Joy and is a sermon that can just cheer you up on a bad day,urs staff

Paul Washer: Spiritual Warfare and Putting on the Armor of God. This one made a huge impact on me. Actually, it served as strong confirmation to what God was already speaking to me about this topic. I love Paul Washer. He challenges me in a way that drives me toward God.
Dan Mohler: Several sermons by Dan. I cannot point to one in particular. his message is very consistent so you don't have to listen to very many to understand what He is saying. It has drawn me into intimacy with God in a way that has been life-transforming. Highly recommend Dan.

I have recently stumbled upon Dan Mohler. I downloaded about ten sermons from youtube on fasting. His was "Atomic Power of Fasting" and it BLEW MY MIND!! I was like, "Who is this guy?" He is the most unassuming preacher I've ever heard.
And his sermons have drawn me also into an intimacy with God that has been transforming for me as well. Every single thing he teaches in the Bible and I have been "homeschooled in the wrong home" for years! His saying, not mine!
Please search youtube for his sermon(s) and listen to them.
God bless, Lisa
