The Word Of God Can"t Fail

F
FranklinB

A word from the Lord I received: Mary, Abraham, and Sarah are 3 witnesses. They all had a word from God, Mary's word Isa. 7:14 a virgin shall conceive and bare a son, Abraham's word Gen. 17:5 for a father of many nations have I made thee, Sarah's word Gen. 18:10 thy wife shall have a son. What God said came out of their mouth from their heart, Mary said to the angel, "Be it unto me according to thy word" and in verse 45 it says, And blessed is she that believed; Abraham's name change (meaning father of many nations) was his word and Roman 4:20,21 says he was strong in faith and fully persuaded that what God promised He was able to perform; Sarah's name change was her word (meaning princess of the multitude) and Hebrews 11:11 says, through faith Sarah received strength to conceive seed. The words they spoke from their hearts changed their bodies. And the same thing can happen for you if you put the right things in your heart/spirit. When you speak out of your heart what God says about your healing Proverbs 4:20-23 will kick in and your own words will be healing, medicine, cure to all of your flesh 20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. The words you let into your heart and the words you speak out of your heart are of vital importance. Because, what you put in your heart in abundance will come out of your mouth (Luke 6:45) and it is creative. That's why you've been warned to guard your heart with all diligence. Because, death and life are in the power of the tongue and you will eat the fruit of it (Proverbs 18:21). So, don't ever think you can't be helped. Just because a man can't help you doesn't mean you can't be helped. So, don't ever think that you are at the mercy of some condition. I thank God for that word.

Notice, the power of the word of God it causes everything contrary to line up with it. God told Abraham that He made him the father of many nations and told Sarah she would have a son while his body was dead and her womb was dead totally contrary to what He said. The word is always able to perform what it says. Look at Mary, we know it takes a man and woman to produce a child and yet God said, "Behold a virgin shall conceive and bare a son." All of them dared to believe God's word and speak according to it and not the conditions. When the word is spoken out of your heart it is creative, the word created an entire body. What does the word call Jesus in John 1:14, the word made flesh. When your words are in line with God's word then your words will be health to your flesh (Proverbs 12:18). The word health is translated as medicine, remedy, healing, and cure. In Acts 14:7-10 it tells of a man that sat and heard Paul preach, he was a cripple from his mother's womb, when Paul perceived that the man had faith to be healed he simply told the man, "Stand upright on thy feet" and the man leaped and walked. What caused that healing, the word that the man let take root in his heart. The word did the healing then and the word will do the healing now.

Dear Brother, please don't be deceived by these teachings. Through many tribulations we enter the Kingdom. WIth these types of teachings, the enemy lays many beleivers into a trap. Then, when healing does not come, they ever look inwardly at their deficiency and stop trusting the Lord.

I would encourage you to look into these verses.

Hebrews 10:32-39
Philippians 2:25-30
1 Peter 3:13-4:2
Matthew 24:9-13
2 Corinthians 7:-10

Then, look into the lives of the following individuals:

Paul the Apostle
Epaphroditus (already mentioned above)
Joni Earikson Tada
Gladys Aylward
Justin Peters
William Wilburforce
David Brainerd

We need a robust theology of suffering. Can God heal? Yes. Absolutely. Without a doubt. I have seen it happen.

Does declaring Scripture over yourself unleash creative power that somehow guarantees a change in your body. No. Nor does scripture teach that.

Wolves teach that, and they are ready to devour.

Thank you havok20x for taking the time to read this article. But, affliction and suffering in the Bible does not always mean sickness. Sickness was never in God's plan for man and He has made provisions for man's healing. The scripture says that Jesus healed all that were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38) and he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Even James 5:14,15 says, If there's any sick amoung you to call for the elders to anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer of faith would save the sick and the Lord will raise him up. Jesus even said that believers would lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. God has made provision for man's healing, but just because someone doesn't receive it doesn't mean it's not God's will. And I've had my own experience doing what I wrote about and I got my healing and God is no respector of persons. God Bless!

2 Corinthians 12v8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.
The Apostle Paul wasn't healed - God's Word never fails, but we can fail.

The bible doesn't tell us what the thorn was , don't add or take away, but Jesus says all things are possible to him who believes ....Don't add or take away from this verse either .....14Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick. period ..Accoring to your faith let it be done unto you ..

H
havok20x

The Bible does say that Epaphroditus was sick almost to death and that we should honor those who suffer in that way for Christ.

The Bible also never expressily says anywhere that healing from infirmity is a guarantee. All you have to do is simply ask the myriad of godly men and women down through the ages who suffered for Christ in their infirmities.

Lastly, although we don't know what specifically WHAT the thorn in the flesh was, it WAS DEFINITELY an infirmity, which by definition is something wrong with the body.

Let me ask you this question: Did you actually look up the verses I posted and investigate the lives of those who I listed?

H
havok20x

I also want to be very, very clear about this:

I do believe that healing can and does happen. I have seen it. But I have also seen where, while I was in Africa, broken and distraught, I sought the Lord for a brother who was about to lose his arm due to a serious infection. I believed God whole-heartedly that He could heal. So did the brother. God did not heal him.

Instead, someone from America just happened to call, not knowing the situation, and informed us "Hey! I heard an American doctor just moved to that region." They even gave us the phone number, not knowing the dire situation.

Was that any less an answer to prayer? No!

P.S.--after many rounds of antibiotics, the brother recovered. The doctor said, "had he waited even a few hours more, he could have lost his arm."

Why did God choose to do that instead of healing immediately? I don't know, but I am so grateful to Him that He heard our prayers.

Hi brother Franklin,
I noticed you often post similar posts. I agree with brother havok that God still heals and I have experienced it myself, too. I prayed for sick people and they got healed.

There is a great danger in believing that I can release healing through God-on-demand, say the word, name it, claim it and receive it. This Word-of-faith teaching lead thousands astray. It reduces God to a healer and does not pay due honor to God. Jesus came to save and he used healing and miracles to demonstrate his love, power and authority. It is still there, it works by faith, but the sovereignity is still in God's hand, not ours. Faith is not what I can get out of God, but my surrender to his will and power. It is not that I am in control and God has to deliver on demand. Healing and miracles are signs that FOLLOW believers but they do not run ahead of them.

Suffering is appointed to the church and every saint will take a share. Suffering can come in all sorts of forms, persecution, sickness, exclusion, slander, betrayal, violence, imprisonment, verbal abuse and the like.

Paul was very clear about it. An in suffering we can overcome and have victory. Paul got in and our of suffering, it was his continous experience. It makes us more like Christ.

infirmity
/ɪnˈfəːməti/
noun

1.
physical or mental weakness:
"old age and infirmity come to men and women alike"
synonyms
weakness, hesitation, uncertainty, inconstancy, indecision, irresolution, irresoluteness, vacillation, fluctuation
antonyms
strength, certainty

repentance is necessary in many cases, and bibles say god wills that all come to repentance as well, so sin needs to be dealt with in those cases, which is gods will as well,, the blood cleanses us from only some sins , what, the blood cleanses from all sin and the body was whipped and beaten for bodily healings, I know Greg posted a sermon from Paris Reidhead, who in that sermon, mentioned john g.lake, in a positive way, he taught along with others that healing was provided for in the atonement. now if it was, was it a partial atonement, God doesn't do things in part ...
Matthew 4:23
Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people... unbelief which was a sin was one reason the main sin that caused Jesus not to heal , and it is the same today. brothers don't be the reason that some people are sick and dying in your life, it requires absolute faith to see many healings and deliverances from evil spirits, don't put a doubtful doctrine in your mind and expect God to use you to heal many sick people .. The bible says and that prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord will raise him up if people want to hold on to sin in their life and maybe so, and they end up staying sick, so be it , preach repentance. Gods will is that we are holy .....2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget all His kind deeds”” 3He who forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases, 4who redeems your life from the Pit and crowns you with loving devotion and compassion,… Please don't use unclear reasons, like unexplained examples of two or three sick people, to negate the atonement its self. That is the gospel and that is how much God so loved the world , just leave it at that , only believe, and I guaranty that god bless your faith and the faith of two or three, according to your faith Jesus said let it be done unto you . just adding for clarity, healing doesn't mean miracles , or instant healing , or us releing healing on-demand , the last would blasphemy to say

H
havok20x

We can argue about definitions and why sickness is appropriate in regard to these things; however, the fundamental issue is a failure to understand the atonement.

I don't deny healing. Again. I can't stress that enough.

However, you are proving my point that I mentioned at first. Now the issue is performance. "You don't experience these things because you need to repent, believe harder, etc, etc, etc." So what do I do when the healing doesn't come? I look inwardly, away from God, see my utter and complete failure, the sin that so easily ensnares me, and then I say "I guess I am not good enough to receive this healing."

Well tell me. How is it that one can, without being perfect, have enough faith to believe on the Lord and save their eternal souls while SIMULTANEOUSLY not having enough faith to be healed of every infirmity? Remember. God doesn't do things in part.

B
brothagary

brother my point was to say healing is provided for in the atonement just as cleansing of all sin is provided, and God wants all to come to full repentance and receive the full benefit of the death of Christ, the fall of man, and the sin of adam -caused sin to pass on to all men and results were sickness and disease, that all and through faith and repentance we can be heald of both ...that's all , your right we can argue , but I won't its 330 in morning god dint wake me up at the time to debate the finer point of the atonement, but to tremble at his word and worship I'm excited to do that now, not to waste precious time convincing you, because you make your own mind up ..Jesus either atoned for it or he didn't. it's your choice, iv read your post for many years brother and you know you have issues, Jesus said to be perfect and be holy as your heavenly father is, stop looking at your failures as you've done year after year after year, and know that your a son of most high god and its no long you an imperfect man who lives , but it is Christ who lives in you, that old man is dead. Faith is a gift, but it grows through hearing and hearing by the word of god, rather than doubting and debating, which you seem to like. bless you brother, I must go and pray and cry out to the Lord to strengthing me because the joy of the Lord is my strength ....

Brother Gary wrote

"God wants all to come to full repentance and receive the full benefit of the death of Christ, the fall of man, and the sin of adam -caused sin to pass on to all men and results were sickness and disease, that all and through faith and repentance we can be heald of both ...that's all"

Perhaps it was an oversight, but there was one effect of sin that was not mentioned - "death" that came to every man, because all sinned. The physical death of our body was not healed by the atonement of Christ.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. 23 And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.24 For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

Because our bodies have been subject to corruption like the rest of creation, we will groan as long as we live in these physical tents. Outwardly we all waste away, yet inwardly we are renewed day by day. Our outward man perishes, the atonement did not heal this effect of sin on our bodies. All the people Jesus healed went on to die physically, even Lazarus. This is not a problem, because flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God and there will be a body of another kind.

Divine healing is a gift of the Spirit, a manifestation for the common good of the church. Like all other workings of the Spirit it is intended to glorify the Name of our Lord Jesus. Divine healing was never meant to keep our physical bodies from wasting away.

Thank you brother Gary,

I was merely pointing out that God's promises and the atonement of our Lord does not necessarily address our physical body. If the atonement did not reverse the wasting away of our body, how can we assert that every other physical ailment we will experience should be healed through faith in the atonement.

Perhaps you or someone else on the forum can speak to this.
I would be interested in knowing other's thoughts on this particular question.

I actually am tempted to regret saying amen to the original, post but regret is sin to me so I won't,, , Most people here just want to debate their pet doctrines, i know why brother dan said he's out, I spent over three years not posting anything on this forum, just reading all doctrinal debates going on here, this is a matter of faith for me, and without that my wife would be dead of incurable 5cm brain tumor and lymphoma which ravished her body. You guys that don't believe that God wants to heal all our sickness, will do nothing to help people believe in healing. Why would you try to destroy franklin's faith in healing by putting up stumbling blocks and plant seeds of doubt, where did Jesus ever do that, Jesus taught that if you say to that mountain and don't doubt in your heart, you no the verse. Do you realize that type of faith he is talking about is not only possible but expected, and that some would actually take Jesus at his word .. let us meditate on that verse for a few months and see what happens, Men of god I implore you to believe the good news of the gospel and stop doubting ......22"Have faith in God,” Jesus said to them. 23"Truly I tell you that if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and has no doubt in his heart but believes that it will happen, it will be done for him. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.… can you just let others believe, or must you argue against the word of god, hey what do you say, lest be quick hear and be slow to speak and slow to wrath

Dear Brother,

I do not consider it planting seeds of doubt when encouraging an 80 year old sister or brother dying of cancer to glorify the Lord in their dying state to their last breath. I really do not believe you would think it would be either.

Being blind does not prevent a person from glorifying God in their body and inspiring faith in thousands of other believers. Fanny Crosby is only one example. Yet you seem to be casting seeds of doubt upon the lives of such godly believers.

There is someone planting seeds doubt in this thread, but that person is the one hinting that those who live with a physical infirmity really lack faith and are not walking in the fullness of God.

Many of the sermons on this sight were given by men who died before reaching old age. Quite a few of them died of an illness they were not healed of. Your position casts seeds of doubt on their faith toward God.

please consider weeping about that

mak

B
brothagary

mak why let your opinions and experiences nullify the word of god, does God say in his word that an 80-year-old needs to die of cancer, no verse in the bible will back up a claim like that, God said man can live to 120 years, you curse a person at 80 to die of cancer for the lake of faith in gods holy word mak I'm really disappointed that you even mention that let alone think like that, I would speak life and blessing over that person, you would watch them die, do you really believe what you stated ... and you say I'm planting seeds of doubt ... life and death is in the power of our tongue, brother speak life, stop it ... and believe the gospel, those words smell of death and doubt,

I know this is a descriptive text but there is quite a bit of information given to us here.

Read Acts 3 and 4.

The book of Acts could be called the book of Acts of Peter and Paul. The first half is about Peter and then Peter fades and then the second half is about Paul. The original poster wrote about Paul healing a man who had the faith to be healed. Note there are some parallels between Peter and Paul in the book of Acts. I believe this is one of them. Peter's version of healing the lame man is found in Acts 3 and 4. Both men were lame and they were lame from their mother's womb.

The man that Peter healed. Here is the information we can gather from the text:

1. He was lame from his mother's womb (Acts 3:2).
2. He sat daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful to ask alms (Acts 3:2).
3. He was above forty years old (Acts 4:22).
4. All the people knew who he was including the rulers (Acts 3:9-10, 4:14-16).
5. The purpose of his healing was to glorify God (Acts 4:21).

Here lies the problem. Jesus was alive just a few months prior to this healing and he surely passed by this man and knew of this man (for all the people knew who he was). The man was more than forty years old and sitting at the gate everyday. The text indicates he must have coming and sitting at the gate for a long time or his entire life even. The question then is how come Jesus did not heal him?

This is a difficult subject I will admit I'm somewhere in the middle but I am against the word of faith movement. Even some of the verses presented here are grossly taken out of context of their intended meaning.

P
Platy

On the other hand what do you do with this text that was mentioned in this thread:

James 5:14-15 - Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

I have two systematic theology books. One is by Wayne Grudem the other one is by John Macarthur. Both are noted theologians and I respect them both.

I did a quick search through both of the books.

Grudem wrote on page 1043 (kindle location 26840):
"And James expects that healing will occur at the hands of the elders in all the churches to which he writes (see James 5:14-16)"

Sorry I can't copy and paste the entire paragraph but Grudem is writing (from my understanding) that James himself is expecting there to be healing if James 5:14-16 is carried out. The phrase "prayer of faith" is used so one of the conditions then must be that it has to be done in faith.

Couldn't find anything on Macarthur's systematic theology about that passage in regard to healing but then again I did a quick search. I'll look more thoroughly and post if I find anything.

Dear narrowpath

I never said that you can demand God about anything because I know that whatever He does it's by his grace not by anything of myself. I don't understand how I can reduce God to being a healer when He said that He already is a healer, in fact that is one of his covenant names Jehovah Rapha the Lord that healeth thee so how is that reducing him to something. And yes Jesus did come to save, but that's not all he came to do 1John 3:8 says he came to destroy the works of the devil which sickness is. The scripture also say he carried our sicknesses and diseases and our pains so if he took ours that means he wants us free of them and they have no legal right. It was sin that brought sickness it was one man that loosed sickness upon mankind and just as one man loosed sickness upon mankind, now Jesus is taking them upon himself for our freedom from them, they have no legal right because Jesus paid the price for them. And I know that God is sovereign, but even in that God has given man dominion on the earth which means that He can't just do what He wants to do when He wants to do it, but He must work through mankind. Like in Acts 16:16-18 when that devil grieved Paul and it say that after many days Paul being grieved turned and said the spirit, "I command thee in the name of Jesus to come out of her" and he came out the same hour. Now, I know it was the power of God that did that, but that power did nothing without Paul because that same thing he did after many days he could have done day one, but he choose to let that devil grieve him not God. But, once he chose to exercise the authority given to him now the power of God can legally operate in the earth.

I thank you for reading this article and for your feedback. God Bless!

For those that believe in the gifts of the spirit obviously you believe in deliverance and casting out demons one question I have how many demons do we have the authority over just some of them, or all of them if we have authority over all the demons that cause sickness that means every single demon that causes sickness we have the authority cast out, now if sin is the reason that let the demons in, then repentance and the deliverance of that demon will heal that person period, now we know the demons cause much sickness so at least we should be able to agree on that but we have authority only because Jesus had the authority and he commanded us who believe in the gifts of the spirit and who believe his words to cast out demons to heal the sick freely you have received now freely you give and you'll be a blessing on the poor and the sick and upon our brothers who are oppressed don't deny them this. Brother Gary,

Will you please provide the name of the church/fellowship you assemble with so that the other believers in your life can confirm that you are walking in all the truths that you are setting forth here.

The gospels record all that Jesus began to "do" and to "teach". Can you provide the names of other brothers and sisters who you are now walking with who can confirm for us that you are currently "doing" these truths.

If you are walking in the same authority you write about, then there should be an abundance of testimonies from the lives of those who have been touched by the grace at work in your life.

Jesus declared that there were two witnesses to His life. The witness of John and the works which He was doing. Your confidence that every believer should be walking in authority over demons and the sin and sickness they produce in the lives of those oppressed would certainly be a dynamic witness in your own life.

The fellowship of saints you are a part of would have a dynamic testimony. Will you provide the name of your fellowship and some contacts that can confirm these truths in your own life.

I've seen an instance of this myself. One lady had depression and was unable to come out of her house. I was with a friend who does deliverance and the lady ended up leaving her house to come pick something up from him. It turned out it was actually a demon and he cast it out of her and she was healed as far as I know. We even heard barking noises following us in the car drive going home.

However it should be noted that the same guy could not heal his family member who had I believe it was lung cancer. And in that deliverance ministry not everyone gets healed or there are partial healings. And if I recall they had a harder time with casting out some demons than others.

Btw the lady was worshipping Christ plus idol(s). Once she repented and gave her life exclusively to Christ he was able to cast it out of her. The demon was crying and weeping because it didn't want to leave the woman's body.

Platy my experience is it's much harder to stand in faith for a member of the family that one is really close to because feelings of sympathy tend to get in the way of faith. Faith doesn't sympathize with sickness, but with gods promises of healing provision, its hard to look past the problem or sickness, and to believe that you have received, what it is you ask for, so that it may be done for you. mark 11 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25And when you stand to pray, if you hold anything against another, forgive it, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your trespasses as well.”… 21Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God, 22and we will receive from Him whatever we ask, because we keep His commandments and do what is pleasing in His sight.
