Holy spirit moving in Birmingham

B
brothagary

From 52 min to 120 mark , Holy Spirit descends, causing conviction and repentance. Looks to be just under 100 people at the altar on their knees. Pastor mark Hemans from Australia was invited to preach at Wigglesworth old church and received a sovereign impartation He went down hard to the ground in the pulpit and has been ministering in a powerful Anointing, preaching hard against sin and worldliness and vain entertainments like tv and movies, with emphases on extreme consecration........ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbh6DnyNoSY

B
brothagary

He tells of a recent incident in a public school in Florida where the holy spirit fell on the classroom delivering children.

B
brothagary

He tells of John weasely having a revival in the very building.... I think God is uncaping the wells of revival, and he will blend the wine together to create an end-time vintage

I watched (or listened) while I was working around the house. I liked him, he talks about repentance setting people free, not him.

I will listen to the rest after work today.

Thank you for sharing this!

This is more twitching and falling out, like in old Benny Hinn meetings, or those of Kenneth Hagin and Kenneth Copeland. At best these are the same techniques stage hypnotists use, and at worst it is the kundalini spirit seen in many Hindu guru and shamanistic meetings which can also be watched on YouTube.

Funny how no one was falling out in the Scriptures except for the *enemies* of God. This video has the same counterfeit manifestations as the Toronto "blessing," Pensacola "revival," Rodney Howard-Browne, and Todd Bentley meetings-- all patently false. No thank you. I've seen these things up close and in person. Theologically, I am a classical Pentecostal. The genuine operation of God's gifts of the Spirit is holy, wonderful, and always Christ-exalting. I feel sorry for those who are caught up in error, not discerning what is of God. They genuinely desire what is true, but fall prey to strange fire.

B
brothagary

this a news report from Azusa Street where classic Pentecostals began................Another local paper reporter in September 1906 described the happenings with the following words:

disgraceful intermingling of the races...they cry and make howling noises all day and into the night. They run, jump, shake all over, shout to the top of their voice, spin around in circles, fall out on the sawdust blanketed floor jerking, kicking and rolling all over it. Some of them pass out and do not move for hours as though they were dead. These people appear to be mad, mentally deranged or under a spell. They claim to be filled with the spirit. They have a one eyed, illiterate, Negro as their preacher who stays on his knees much of the time with his head hidden between the wooden milk crates. He doesn't talk very much but at times he can be heard shouting, "Repent," and he's supposed to be running the thing... They repeatedly sing the same song, "The Comforter Has Come."[8]

I do not put my faith in nor form doctrines based on experiences, be they mine or others, but in the Person of Jesus Christ and His revealed will as found in the Scriptures. As a student of church history, I personally have a lot more confidence in the purity of God's work with William Seymour and company on Bonnie Brae St. *before* they moved to Azusa St. At the latter location chaos did ensue, as well as internal rivalries and jealousies. I won't even get into the character of Seymour's erstwhile mentor Charles Parham here. And another faction stole William Seymour's contact list, effectively cutting off communication with many. This man of God was overwhelmed as he sought to minister in such conditions.

The early 20th century revival in North Korea had no one falling into spasms or "slain," yet hundreds of thousands were won to Christ by the joint efforts of Methodist and Presbyterian missionaries. All of the believers in South Korea today are the direct result and continued fruit of that revival.

The Hebrides revival of 1949-52 in the isle of Lewis and Harris and other portions of Scotland's western isles was not characterised by anyone twitching out or other aberrant behaviour. A deep conviction of sin came ACROSS THE LAND, not just the church or churches where evangelist Duncan Campbell was preaching the Word. In fact, crowds often formed *before* he arrived in a certain locale.

The revival among the Zulus and other South African tribes began in December, 1966 after God had dealt with minister Erlo Stegen. The crowds came to *him* at the KwasizaBantu mission, crying out for salvation, deliverance, and healing. Dr. Kurt Koch wrote a fine 300 page volume in 1978, God Among the Zulus, giving a firsthand account. Koch had seen much in the way of counterfeits, being William Branham, Kathryn Kuhlman, or the like, but was overjoyed to find the real and genuine at the KwasizaBantu mission. Everything is done decently and in order there, and the work goes on to this day.

Brother Mark Hemans came to Lake Charles Louisiana and did a series of meetings. I also had the opportunity to interview him on the radio program that I host. He is the real deal. he exalts the Lord Jesus, moves in the power of the Holy Spirit, with signs and wonders, healing‘s, deliverance and miracles.

B

That's great mike , do you upload your Raido program to any socal media platform, or is it just for USA.

B

I'm sorry Chris, but the Holy Spirit doesn't move according to your cherry-picked preference. The history of Revival tells a different story.

Brother Gary, KELB is a Christian radio station out of Lake Charles La. It can be streamed over the internet. I also do a Facebook Live on the interviews that I do. I will look for the interview with Brother Mark, but I don’t even know if I still have it. The interview was done several years ago.

Brothers Gary and Mike,

If the Corinthian church had had humility, brotherly love, and a zeal for purity in their gatherings, along with the rich gifting and Spirit presence that they did have, would that be called a "revival” or merely His body with each part functioning properly building itself up to His fullness or……the church. ? Why the fascination with the sensational extraordinary instead of a zeal for the supernatural ordinary ? Paul was far more anointed than brother Mark and he was intensely burdened with the church functioning in the ordinary Spirit filled way God intended and he gave his life and suffered all things for it.

B
brothagary

Hi Robert. To start with the church at Corinth had factions and were not moving in brotherly love the way they should have they did have a healthy moving of the holy spirit in its gifts by the looks of Paul's letter. I believe the churches were experiencing a revival. They definitely weren't functioning properly in building one another up according to the way Paul would have liked. There weekly Lord's Day Sunday meeting was a mosh pit of spiritual activity and probably a great prayer meeting, but that wasn't how Paul wanted that regular meeting to function I think that's extremely clear from Paul's letter. Mark Hemans does not do regular Sunday meetings he functions with an apostolic anointing and moves around primarily functioning in the gifts of miracles the gifts of healings the words of knowledge and prophecy and imparting gifts by the leading of the spirit to different people, and the laying on of hands for the baptism of the holy spirit, he doesn't function as a Bible teacher or pastor. Why not be fascinated and happy when God moves and delivers people from long-held demonic bondages and from debilitating sicknesses why not be happy when the joy of the Lord sweeps through a church? Even the far more anointed apostle Paul, said rejoice with those who are rejoicing and weep with those who weep,
Be of one mind, the apostle Paul taught the believers to be empathetic to the moving of the holy spirit in others, in other words, to resonate with it. You would have to be creating wild assumptions to assume that Paul didn't appreciate and embrace the holy spirit as God delivers and brings joy into people's lives. Celebrating what God does in the backslider's life and the lukewarm should be a reason for rejoicing even if it looks silly to the natural man or the carnal mind or the religious spirits. The apostle Paul said if I'm beside myself or out of my mind it is for God's sake but if I am of a sound mind a sober mind it is for your sake. If you look at the First visitations and outpouring of the spirit on the church like the day of Pentecost, and the first outpouring upon the gentile congregations these are not normal church services but they happen in times of revival Paul would not have been rejecting powerful outpourings of the spirit when they come whether they came through his hands or Sovereignly or through another's hand. When God chooses to move that is his business and he will do it whichever way he chooses. Brother I plead with you please do not box God in .🙏😊☝️🕎

Why the fascination with the sensational extraordinary instead of a zeal for the supernatural ordinary ?

Brother, I praise God for every legetimae ministry that God is using. I do believe that the fivefold ministry is to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry, and every believer that is baptized in the Holy Spirit has the potential to heal the sick and cast out demons. Prophets of God have seen stadiums filled with people worshipping the Lord, and the sick being healed by Christians that were nameless and faceless to the general public. Every true minister gives glory to God for what the Lord is doing through him, and the false profit or teacher seeks the glory and praise of men for himself.

ChrisA has already accurately described the situation and given us further important information.
What happens in Birmingham has nothing to do with the glorious Gospel of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We don't know His mercies anymore and that His grace is sufficient for us. Have we forgotten "that old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame" ?

Lord have mercy, may we repent !

"Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? And in Thy name have cast out devils? And in Thy name done many wonderful works?' And then I will profess to them, 'I never knew you. Depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.'" Matthew 7:22,23

"For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Matthew 24:24

A very sobering prophetic warning was given by Stanley Frodsham in 1965. It has clearly been fulfilled in subsequent decades, and is of ongoing relevance:

Chris do you realise that Stanley was a champion of The latter rain movement they taught the manifest son's of God doctrine, and the restoration of the five fold ministry that movement in itself was the restorational movement against classic pentecostalism of the day and dead evengeicalism so that prophecy is speaking generally about the standard dry Pentecostal who rejected the move of the spirit and today are still rejecting the moves of the spirit. Without being unloving and Blunt he's probably speaking about you, do you realise that😔✝️🛐

I’m not saying Mark Herman’s work isn’t of God (at times). I’m concerned that he makes sound effects with his breathing into the microphone and otherwise when he touches a person. It’s clearly for effect abd drama if you look at the timing of it. I just ask why?

C
ChrisA

I am aware of his former and latter affiliations, but the point is that was a genuine word from God. Read it, weigh it, then decide to reject or accept it.

We read of godly kings in the Old Testament who made bad alliances (with good intentions), often bringing great peril to themselves.

I love the work of God on this earth. You saw the video I shared about the Gospel in Nepal with the Korean couple seeing thousands won to Christ over the past twenty years with seventy different congregations being raised up.

There are many reports that I cannot share, being in sensitive areas of the world where the church is underground and heavily persecuted. Suffice it to say, you would rejoice at the news of it.

C
CofG

Brothagary,

I am with ChrisA in this. I likewise could give reports but can't. Please don't judge objections or cautiousness as you do. Believe me, He is not in a box where I am and you are off base with characterizations of people who disagree with you.

B
brothagary

Robert the blowing part is by faith following Jesus methods of blowing on his disciples. And believe it or not the sound effects have become basically a ritual that actually increases the faith of the one being blowen on and in my opinion also increases the faith of the one who blows, both sides of the coin and that type of ministry require faith on both parts on the Minister and the one who's receiving whatever it is they are receiving whether it is a mirical or healing or maybe a baptism of the spirit. In a similar way when some people command spirits out of a demon oppressed person it can be done with quite loud commands so the increased sound and the intention of the vocal cords and the exhaling of air done when one is speaking acts to prime the faith pump in the one casting out the demons and it also seems to work well on those who are oppressed. Others don't find the need to do that. There is no set way of doing this type of ministry. One day you might lay hands-on for a healing the next day you may spit on the ground and make mud and rub it in their eyes, you do what you feel the Holy spirit guiding you to do and some people develop a system that works for them, or like Smith wigglesworth you might punch them in the stomach. 🤔😉🛐✝️

B
brothagary

Robert what do you mean by characterizations. I was just pointing out the prophecy that he used as a prophecy against Mark hemans and whoever seems to be agreeing with his ministry, was A prophecy from someone that is classed as a heretic because they were part of The latter rain movement and he even pointed that out himself. Do you know much about that movement brother because it was a restoration or movement against the standard Pentecostal movement who had become institutional and denominational which is what he is a part of ,classic pentecostalism. I wasn't sure whether he was aware that that's what Stanley was a part of. Most of the leaders of that latter rain movement was squarely up against the old Pentecostal regime for becoming institutionalized. And I beg to differ on your definition of being cautious about a ministry, because he has flat out condemned it if you'd like to go back over and read the comments and called us to repent.

B
brothagary

Sorry my mistake it was degloria telling us to repent🙏

Stanley Frodsham: " In the late 1940’s became heavily involved in the Latter Rain Movement.”

"Some considered the Pentecostal denominations a mere monument to Pentecost’s former glory, so this new movement appeared as a breath of fresh air. Singing in the Spirit, the manifestation of spiritual gifts like tongues interpretation and prophecy, people receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit with the sign of tongues by the laying on of hands, miraculous healing etc., brought the life of God into their meetings. Such things had only been read about in Pentecostal history books and records of the early days. Now they had returned and Stanley, regardless of being in his 60’s, embraced this new move with all his heart and soul.”

Some of you brothers would have said that Brother Stanley was in error if you would have lived back then.

C
ChrisA

There is nothing wrong with desiring a genuine, Godsent latter rain....but many of those in the "latter rain movement" were not sound in the faith, as history has born out. But the point was Frodsham's prophetic warning. Do we heed it or not? Again, history has proven it to be true. Men like William Branham and Oral Roberts began sincerely in prayer and faith healing, but deviated slowly and subtly at first, then severely as time went on, and did not end well.

Brother, this is a true statement. Revivals have ended because of lack of discernment, and the flesh along with demonic manifestations were allowed.

The problem arises when we assume that when God is moving in power that everything that happens in that meeting is of God, but also a man with a true ministry and anointing can be judged as being false when there are some flaky things going on in the meetings, and I have witnessed both the power of God and the flesh being manifested in the same meeting, Which only means that we are in desperate need of discernment.

Hi Lysa, I managed to get to one of his meetings here in Australia The sweet Spirit that I'm accustomed to was there for sure. I class him as our national treasure when it comes to men of God, more than likely a national Apostal and elder.

N
narrowpath

I have been to many meetings like this in the past. Healings, falling over, desire for a touch of God, laughter, screaming, blowing into the microphone, convulsions, shaking, prophesies. It is difficult to capture the spiritual true atmosphere of a meeting through you headphones and monitor

I do not know. I think many revival meetings show a mixture of the genuine, the flesh and soul, as well as demonic manifestations. I do not think everything must be pretty. I dare not to slight Gods work, in whatever proportion it may occur. I am sure there are many sincere and devoted followers of Christ among them. If there is some work of God, great or small, praise God!

The only thing I am opposed, if people try to force what only God can do. This is what I would call strange fire. I was once in a meeting where the pastor pushed me and because at that time I felt this is what I had to do, a went backwards, but it was not the power of God for sure. Or fake tongues that sound like banana backwards, when praying for people. This is not the propper application of the precious gift of tongues. Also whipping up emotions by music.

I've been in too many meetings where people had all sorts of manifestations but no change in life. The emphasis was on physical and emotional healing, but little on repentance.

Time will tell if they bring lasting fruit of sanctification, godliness, reconciliation and greater devotion to God, and after all, souls won for the Lord.

L
Lysa

narrowpath,

That was beautifully said. "Time will tell if they bring lasting fruit of sanctification, godliness, reconciliation and greater devotion to God, and after all, souls won for the Lord."

PS Did you ever find a church?

N

Hi Lysa, thanks for asking. I went back to the church that I left a couple of years ago. We went there mainly because our daughter found some fellowship there. It a kind of "lite" church, you will not hear much about repentance, holiness and judgement, nevertheless, we found some dear souls there. I am envolved in leading and teaching in housegroups, comprised of somewhat "disenfranchized" brothers and sisters, who had been hurt in the past.

L
leyoung

This man did speak about repentance but I saw that old push, shoving, yes, arrogant spirit that is not like the compassion of Jesus.
My spirit is not attracted to him at all.
