"Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." -Jeremiah 6:16"The Old Paths" is the new official monthly newsletter of the SermonIndex Ministry. It will be a 6 page issue each month that will be offered through the email newsletter. So if you want to recieve the latest edition simply signup for the monthly newsletter on the front page of the site. The newsletter will be available to download in the PDF format. All the backissues will be linked to in this thread. The vision of this newsletter is that people that are blessed by the newsletter can make copies for other friends. I see this newsletter spreading by many individuals making 10-20 copies to hand out to friends or leave at churches. May God grow this and spread these publications as He sees fit for the furterance of the gospel and His kingdom: Click Here for an archive of prior newsletters

Finally, I can post about my excitement concerning God inspiring you to put this newsletter together and to complete it so quickly! Yay - it's not a secret anymore! I'm still working on finishing reading the front page article. It's a really good article by Leonard Ravenhill. The quote that's stood out to me the most, though all of what I've read so far is really good, is that "we stagnate in the status quo and sleep easy at night while our generation moves swiftly to the eternal night of hell. Shame, shame on us!"I can't wait until this first newsletter is available for everyone to read, print out and distribute!

Yodi wrote:"we stagnate in the status quo and sleep easy at night while our generation moves swiftly to the eternal night of hell. Shame, shame on us!"I agree and I'm so very much to blame for that Yodi, yes shame on me. May God get me out of my comfort zone and give me a hunger for souls!

Much much encouragement to you Greg! You know what it reminds me of? in a way of the old "Apostolic Faith" newspapers of Azusa Street!!getting closer to that old fashioned camp meeting, aint we?

S

Brother I really believe it to be something of an underground newpaper somewhat like the "Apostolic Faith". I am praying that people will catch the vision and start to personally make copies to give away to others. I am believing God will use it powerfully for His glory. The great thing about it is that there is no way to keep track of how many copies are being make. All glory belongs to God. Use it how you will Lord.It is pretty simple to distribute.1. Print off the orginal pdf on your computer printer (6 pages)2. Take the 6 pages to the photocopier and photocopy them double sided so it will be 3 pages and staple it. I have made 30 copies for now and its not that expensive to make more. I am excited to give them out to people to bless them spiritually.

"Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." -Jeremiah 7:16--------------------->Should be Jermiah 6:16There is a wrong quotation at the the title. Thanks

S

Great job Greg.and that is a beautiful picture of Catherine Booth. I have never looked into her eyes before. I am particularly blessed with the life of Bramwell Booth who was the 'pastor' of the Salvation Army and said to be much more like his mother in temperament. These pictures are very revealing. The old war horse ready as always for another charge, and 'the mother of the army' with eyes full of compassion and longing. Is it OK to do a straight link from my biblebase.com to the file?btw the font for the final white on black has hardly any disctinction between the 'c' and the 'o', or even the 'e'. Could it be my Mac version of the pdf that is a local problem?

Greg, This is exciting! I've just printed off a copy and will print off some more to share! Thank you, this is such a blessing to share with others. :-)

Brother Greg, When I recieved the e-mail with "The Old Paths" it came to my mind what I have read in "The Revival We Need" by Oswald Smith."We read in the biographies of our forefathers, who were most successful in winning souls, that they prayed for hours in private. The question therefore arises, can we get the same results without following their example? If we can, then let us prove to the world that we have found a better way; but if not, then in God's name let us begin to follow those who through faith and patience obtained the promise. Our forefathers wept and prayed and agonized before the Lord for sinners to be saved, and would not rest until they were slain by the Sword of the Word of God. That was the secret of their mighty success; when things were slack and would not move they wrestled in prayer till God poured out His Spirit upon the people and sinners were converted." (For Those Who Seek.)Oh, for a such men of God today.

Thank you all for sharing how this is blessing you. Yes you can make a direct link to the pdf file. If you could print screen on the place where the text is buggy and send it in a email ron that would be best for me being able to trouble-shoot the problem.Do print these out and give them to others. Also forward the email to many people. Yes brother Kire may we follow in their examples.

What a great name for the newsletter, reminds me of the church here in Rochester that hosts Keith Daniels, "Old Paths Bible Baptist Church".What a great tool to spread the Gospel to others in the church! I pray God would be glorified and that the church would awake as a result of reading this newsletter. In Christ,Doug Renz

I am glad you are being blessed by the newsletter brother. There has been a very positive response. I am really feeling led to get it out to people as much as possible. Even tonight I gave it to some brothers at this one church and they are going to go and make copies to give to others.I am putting on the front page a link to the newsletter directly in its pdf format. I hope many use it for God's glory and it spreads according to the will and purposes of God.

I have heard so many things God is doing, I am amazed knowing this is only the tip of the ice berg. I just recieved this email from a pastor I know that is putting the newsletter in the church bulletins for next week:Hello brother, It is good to hear from you, it has been a long time. Oh yes, I have read the Old Paths pub. Greg, this is wonderful and I have already printed it and it will be in our church bulletin. You know my passion for these things. The Old Paths is what we need to begin to walk down once again in America and Canada. It is the right way! Glory to Jesus. I will be glad to write this recommendation for you. I pray that school is going well and that you are drawing closer to the heart of our beloved Savior. You are a blessing and Sermon Index is a life-saver! Old Paths is a ray of light in our generation of darkness - to illuminate the true and the right way. This publication is helpful to Pastor and Parishioner alike to focus the lens to clear up any blurr that exists from modern humanistic doctrines which are so rampant today. As a pastor I am thrilled to recommend "Old Paths" to every disciple of Jesus Christ; this publication is a God send. Pastor Derek Melton

I personally am going to make 50 copies of the newsletter to give away to people. I would encourage others to print out the pdf and do the same. One person emailed me saying some people in their church are already asking about the next issue when its coming out.

Greg wrote:One person emailed me saying some people in their church are already asking about the next issue when its coming out.Hey? I said that first didn't i, about people asking for the "next" issue of the newsletter? :-? :-P

S

hehe yes you did. It is amazing how much its blessing people, even me just handing it out to people here in california. If you haven't yet download the latest issue and print out multiple copies to leave with people. Perhaps even with a few audio cds of the best messages from the site. If everyone started to spread the resources on this site individually what an impact it would make in the lifes of many!

There were folks at my church passing them out also. They printed them off at home and brought them!

I am thinking to print it out also, and distribute it at our church. But i'm wondering, our native language is dutch, so i don't know what to expect. So if some of you, could pray for this, for now i think i'll try to find out how to print it so it looks like a kind of newspaper format.

Yes at the Calvary Chapel Church here in escondido, the one pastor loves the publication and is going to God willing accomidate a space to put about 20-40 issues for people to take for free.

Brother Greg,I use to look forward for each month mainly like everyone else to get my check (i get paid once a month). I now look forward to the "Old Paths Newsletter". I like so many that i have given out the newsletter to, are looking forward to it. Awesome features and awesome layout as well. Thank you for the little extra we can all look forward to each and every month. P.S. Everyone reading this, please donate to this ministry on a "monthly basis" as the spirit leads you. You won't regret it and the Lord will bless you more then you could ever know.I say donate monthly because we all here at sermonindex utilize this site so many times a month, so why not donate monthly? We are all fed greatly here, so please pray and ask the Lord what he might have you to give monthly. :-D

Oct. looks good glancing over it. I also found the messages that you used for the previous newletters and i'm collecting them all together and just gonna print them normally. (Like with all your promotional stuff, of the site). Both types of the newsletters are good. But I kinda favor the new one cause it has different people on the same topic. Great stuff.

I just wanted to share with you all. A couple weeks ago I made 20 copies and left the in the front area (where there is all the different announcements and different leaflets) of the church that I attend. I didn't think people paid much attention to the stuff there. But today I found only four copies left! Wow I was surprised, and glad. There were some very good articles in the newsletter and fell privileged to share them with others.I look forward to reading the Oct. issue.

GREAT NEWSLETTER.I'd like a mentor or someone close to me like George Whitefield. WOW! He'd like be my brother. Crying over every sermon. (Not in a baby way, but in a way of passion)I don't know all of the people, but GREAT to hear what they all did for God. WONDERFUL!! I loved it. Even better than last month.**Also, there needs to be an edit on the final page. Under quotes, under matthew Henry. His first quote is quoted 2 times, its the 1st AND 4th, unless you meant to do that on purpose**

I just had to say again, this is such an awesome idea. May this newsletter be fruitful in the building up of the Body of Christ, even more so than it already is!

Okay, I'm like 2 days slow. Plus, the weirdest thing - I've been on SI all morning, but just now the image on the upper right hand menu changed telling me that the October issue is available. I know you didn't update that recently because... you're on the road. So anyway, since I just saw it, I downloaded it only minutes ago and look very much forward to reading it. I was so blessed by the other newsletter (I've found that Oswald Chamber's writings are still one of my favorites). I know you've spent a lot of time on these. I'm glad people are printing, passing out, and reading them. Keep up the good work Gregory. God's using you. =)
