Prayer Request - God's Truth

S
sermonindex

Hello, I'm now in a 'tough' spot.My best friend and I received a Word from God that God is going to destroy a church within 3 years. I ended up delievering the word.News about this is spreading like wildfire in my city. My church in some respects is receiving chastisments about it, because of my membership with them. My pastor thinks that I was in instrument of Satan on that. Also, the church 'I' condemned was the church I have/my friend has, affections for the pastors 2 daughters. (so that's tough).I know this church somewhat well. I'm not best friends with these people but a friend none-the-less. And God spoke this to my heart. The delievery of the word was in error (and I repent of that, and will repent publicly of that) but the word itself wasn't.So my prayer request is, that God CONFIRMS His word, with NUMEROUS witnesses, not just 2 or 3, but a PROFOUND amount, so that it's INDESPUTABLE that this word is from God.Me and my friend are praying now, that God takes these 'judgemental' words from our lips for the next 2 years in our life. We are rejecting them completly, but for this season. "Now, is not the time."Please Pray for us.

So sorry to hear you have had that experience. Unfortunately today, the only "Word from God" people want to hear is how great they are doing and how He is going to bless them with more stuff. I hope that you will not let this experience prevent you from delivering a message from God in the future.I will be praying with you.

I'm not sure I understand your prayer request. Did you have a peace about this in your heart before you delievered the message? If so, God will confirm His word, as you said, within three years. Trust in Him.If this was from a judgmental spirit you must repent and seek forgiveness. In Christ,Ron

My pastor thinks that I was in instrument of Satan on that. Joshua,How long did your pastor spend seeking the Lord for His wisdom before he gave you this opinion? They are not light words, to accuse you of being used by Satan. While it may have been fair to suggest you pray longer about whether and when to deliver a word you know you have received from God, it is also fair for the more mature Christians in you church - pastor included, I hope - to understand that God is intending to move in your/their neighbourhood, and to press on in the Spirit to receive from Him all the help they will need to be ready to receive it in full. How many times did prophets in the Old Testament deliver unpalatable messages to the people? Did that make them messengers of Satan? Even the damsel with the spirit of divination was telling the truth about Paul. The 'word of truth' doesn't necessarily come from a Christian. As with any prophecy, you will have to wait it out... but believe the Lord will continue to use you nevertheless.... and learn from this. Don't let it do anything to you other than the Lord intended when He revealed it. GROW! And as Ron said, 'Trust Him'.

JoshuaThe first time you listed your gifts on the "Discernment" thread I PM you a website and asked you to scroll down to the bottom and read those at the bottom that are listed there.Again a second time, on your healing thread here, I asked again that you do it.Now, because of Dorcas' reply and you not getting my drift ... by asking again "what or which should I read ?" ... I'll go that extra mile and post thoes you should read, that I had hoped you would of weeks ago when I first asked you to.I did not want to direct you so directly to "which" and had hoped you'd allow the Lord to lead ... but maybe you have a lot on your plate in these weeks and have not had time to search it out.I'll list a few but it would be better for you to do as I had originally asked weeks ago, to go to the "read" listings on this site and ask the Lord to direct you on what further would grow you in your gift(s).http://www.theschoolofchrist.org/articles/reluctant.htmlhttp://www.theschoolofchrist.org/articles/responsibility.htmlhttp://www.theschoolofchrist.org/articles/savant.html :-( Love you always.Annie

For everyone's concern. I'd like to say. I'd be the last one to deliever the message that I did.1st because 'I like the pastor's daughter'. (I'm serious, she is a cool girl)2nd I love everyone there.3rd, my ministry concentrates more on Restoration than Judgement.4th, I don't hate any of them, but God seemed to show His feelings on the matter.I will be speaking with the pastor of that church in due time. Right now, I'm seeking on God's wisdom and direction on the whole matter.About me being a 'tool of Satan' by my own pastor, I will be speaking to him about that. Because, he is making God in his own image.(God never condemns His people)God has encouraged me about this word from Him in 2 POWERFUL ways so far, I'm still waiting for more. But after this, for the next 2 years, I don't want to hear words like that. But after that, I will accept my full calling. Of tearing down, AND building up. Not just building up.Blessings. Your prayers are being heard!

Finding this all a bit peculiar and troubling. From the vagueness of first inceptions to some of the counsel and supporting of the same.My best friend and I received a Word from God that God is going to destroy a church within 3 years. I ended up delivering the word. For?My pastor thinks that I was in instrument of Satan on that. And you were expecting? The delievery of the word was in error (and I repent of that, and will repent publicly of that) but the word itself wasn't.This is already unraveling and wrought with problems. Where do you find warrant for accidents in so called 'prophecies'?Me and my friend are praying now, that God takes these 'judgemental' words from our lips for the next 2 years in our life. We are rejecting them completly, but for this season. "Now, is not the time."'We are rejecting them completly, but for this season.'Is there a not missing here, "not rejecting" ?I am frankly more troubled that there is no scriptural counsel here whatsoever. There is no scriptural reasons, actually, no reasons regardless given in the first place for this so called "word" and the ready counselors are apt to defend and lend support without any testing? ... Have all the Bereans fled? This is just nonsensical and am bemused that some of us who ought to know better are offering up such counsel, with such ease, to such a thing as "... that God is going to destroy a church within 3 years"

I

Yikes brother, the more you say about this the more uneasy I feel. 1st because 'I like the pastor's daughter'. (I'm serious, she is a cool girl) 2nd I love everyone there. 3rd, my ministry concentrates more on Restoration than Judgement. 4th, I don't hate any of them, but God seemed to show His feelings on the matter. What do any of these things matter if God has sent you?About me being a 'tool of Satan' by my own pastor, I will be speaking to him about that. Because, he is making God in his own image.(God never condemns His people)Doesn't this seem contradictory to you? You have told a church that God will destroy them within three years, wasn't that condemnation?God has encouraged me about this word from Him in 2 POWERFUL ways so far, I'm still waiting for more. How powerful could those ways have been if you posted here specifically to request prayer for more confirmation of what you have said. Again, if this was indeed from the Lord He will confirm it in His time. But after this, for the next 2 years, I don't want to hear words like that. But after that, I will accept my full calling. Of tearing down, AND building up. Not just building up.This doesn't sound like you have much faith in what was said. You'll only accept His calling if He makes you look good on this one?Perhaps a lack of details has me confused, I hope that is the case.In Christ,Ron

Chip Brogden is familiar with prophetic gifts and that is why I point our brother there.I pray it is possible that Chip would answer an email from Joshua.I know Chip is very busy, but occasionally he does answer.I believe he could help. The Word of God does say that the prophets words should be tested by the prophets 1Co 14:29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. Chip is sound, so I believe he would be a good one to turn to for those who feel called or used in what they call prophecy.I personally don't want to see anyone more get hurt by all of this.Sound counsel may be in order from outside ... like Chip.Email him Joshua.

Hi YeshuaIsMyGD...!My best friend and I received a Word from God that God is going to destroy a church within 3 years. I ended up delievering the word.... So my prayer request is, that God CONFIRMS His word, with NUMEROUS witnesses, not just 2 or 3, but a PROFOUND amount, so that it's INDESPUTABLE that this word is from God.Josh, I have a few questions about this situation: 1. How did you receive this word?2. What do you mean by "God is going to destroy a church within 3 years"? Do you mean the building, the organization, the people -- or a combination?3. How did you go about delivering it? In other words, did you pull that pastor aside and speak to him first?I have known three individuals that were completely convinced that "God told them" that a disaster was going to befall certain local church fellowships. In fact, two of these individuals told me that they placed "fleeces before the Lord" and He confirmed both the message of destruction and the time frame for when this destruction was going to take place. None of this destruction ever befell those local church fellowships, buildings or individuals. Why am I saying this? We must be very careful before we "prophesy" such destruction. First of all, it is dangerous to quote God as being so destructive through judgment when He always desires to draw people unto Himself. Yes, from time to time, God has poured out judgment upon individuals, organizations, governments and even entire cities. However, God ALWAYS provides a way of escape for those that are willing. He has never delighted in the death or destruction of the willing. This is one of the most valuable lessons to be learned from Jonah. Secondly, if by chance we are wrong -- then our "prophecy" could serve to literally turn people away from our message and even the faith. What if, by chance, three years passes and nothing happens. Will a “cop out” excuse be made (like the ones used by famous TV preachers when their “prophecies” do not come to pass)? Regardless, we must be careful to understand the criteria of distinguishing between a true and false prophecy (such as is given in Jeremiah and Ezekiel). There are indeed a lot of false prophecies given today. Most, of course, are meant to “tickle itching ears.” But there are some that are meant to “call down fire from Heaven” -- when the heart of God is draw men unto himself.I have a very difficult time with many “personal prophecies.” I have been “prophesied” over more times than I can count. Most of the time, those “prophesies” were but vague or “fuzzy” words spoken that could have been true about any number of believers. How many times do we need to hear those “your music will heal the sick and cast out demons,” “you will preach to many in many nations” or “you have concern for loved ones” type of prophecies? Or how many times will we hear about a charismatic believer that gets rejected and “shakes the dust off” but feels the need to “prophesy destruction” to the individuals or body that rejects him? It happens more often than I can count. I have spoken to the Lord about all of the many prophecies that I have been given. I have asked that any “prophecy” spoken to me should be specific before I will receive it. Its not that I have doubt that God can and will “give me a word” through a fellow believer. It is just that there are so many zealous individuals that unwittingly “speak for God” when the words are his or her own. The good thing is that I have been spoken to by individuals that did not know me – yet spoke words that were undeniably specific (including particular situations and circumstances that I was going through). But even after such specific words, I still bring them before the Lord. Why? Because there are also counterfeit gifts flowing through churches. Satan is definitely a painter of confusion – doing his best to confuse truth from lie. So my prayer request is, that God CONFIRMS His word, with NUMEROUS witnesses, not just 2 or 3, but a PROFOUND amount, so that it's INDESPUTABLE that this word is from God.Brother, my prayer is that your “word” never comes to pass. I pray that, if the Church that you spoke to is experiencing problems with sin, unbelief, or false doctrine, God will draw those individuals unto Himself. God’s heart in this matter is that all of the people in that Church come to Him. He desires that all of those individuals will know Him as we desire to know Him. My brother, please do not mistake this post as an attack on your word or "seeds of doubt" thrown maliciously at your ministry. This is just a little of my own feeling from experience about "words of prophecy." I do believe in words that originate from the heart of God. On several occasions, I have felt prompted by the Lord to speak such words to individuals that I did not know. On two occasions, the Lord gave me the actual names of the individuals (whom I did know). And on another occasion, the Lord let me know about a very specific situation that the individual was experiencing. I told this person, and with tears in their eyes, that person asked "How did you know?!?" With tears in my eyes, I told that person, "Because I just prayed for you and this came to my mind. This is how much God cares for you!!!" I spoke these words with much fear, tears and trembling. That being said, I do know of an individual that told a Church about something that was going to happen to their building. This Church had been without a pastor for several years because the elders and congregation of the Church were rejecting prospective pastors. My friend (an evangelist) told them that if they were to reject another man that God had sent to be a shepherd to them, then their steeple would be struck by lightning. Two weeks later, the Church rejected another prospective pastor. That evening, their steeple was destroyed by a bolt of lightning. The next day, the elders called the prospective pastor back. He was overwhelmingly elected the following Sunday. :-)

Yeshua saidGod never condemns His peopleDepending on how you would translate the word 'condemns', I am reminded of the seven churches in Revelation, when Jesus says 'I have somewhat against you'. However strong or mild a rebuke, the word of God contained within it should cut to the quick of the open-hearted believer, bringing both conviction and healing. Only you know how your pastor's phrase struck you... remembering, as Chris has said, that the word of God need not come through a Christian.Mike,I am frankly more troubled that there is no scriptural counsel here whatsoever. This brings us back to the question of what the Holy Spirit has been given to us for. I keep getting the feeling that you have never been in a sound church, where the gifts of the Spirit are used every Sunday... where people have grown in experience and faith through using their gifts. If I'm wrong on this, please tell me. I think you would be very reassured to visit such a church, where elders are honest, spiritual, biblically sound and used to exercising faith in what God speaks to them and what they hear through other members of the Body, from Him.When a person with the gift of prophecy receives a word from the Lord, they give it, right there and then. They don't reach for a concordance or their Bible, to check up on it in any way at all. And certainly if they hesitate, and it's a word for the church that day, God will definitely bring it out some other way - either through another similar prophecy, or, through the preaching and singing and praying. The Holy Spirit inspires this. It was my regular experience, although I did not have the gift of prophecy in that way. Certainly, I learned to 'hear' what God was saying to the church, through the word He brought through those who did.In Joshua's situation, with the gifts of which he has regularly testified to us, I don't 'hear' the question to be one of whether or not this is a word from God, but rather, having received it, knowing it is a word from God, how should he have dealt with the knowledge from God, and the sensibilities of the people to whom His word was directed. Also, I might have asked God 'why'? Why is He going to destroy this church? Usually when God destroyed something, it was because of secret or overt sin, which was harming people or bringing the whole group under something other than His counsel. God only tolerates that for so long, and then His jealousy requires that those who will return to Him be released, that they may return to Him.Certainly, God is not going to destroy HIS CHURCH. He might well destroy a local assembly who are failing to obey His promptings to them. RonB has expounded on this in the What is church? thread, where the threat (by the Lord) of the lampstand being removed from all the believers in a certain city (not just those in one lesser locality or branch of a denomination) is unmistakably real.

I'd love to reply to everyone of you, but it might take more time than I intend on spending online. To sum up MY heart on this situation, please read Amos 7.This isn't 'my' word. I know it's going to come to pass. Do I want it to? NO! I'd be the last one to want that to come to pass, but I know the Lord will do it. 'He has seen enough' There church has been in tremendous sin for years upon years. They quench the Spirit and douse the flame, do you not think God will judge?I love all those people, I consider them friends,I didn't just go to 'some random' church, I KNOW these people! But I obey God rather than man. The only thing I did OUT OF IGNORANCE, was I didn't submit underneath the authority in a Godly way.I 'delievered' the word I received from God by writting on a piece of paper and descreatly placing it. I didn't sign my name, and yet they knew it was me, (cause they don't get 'new' guests)So, instead of 'debating' this till we all die and fall into sin. Instead, brothers and sisters, I BEG for your prayers. I need strength right now. When a brother asks you for a fish, do you give him a scorpien? Please, my 'fish' is prayer, don't give my chastesisment. I'm getting it enough from the people CLOSEST to me.Please continue in prayer, I think this 'situation' is almost over.

Dorcas,This is all a bunch of rubbish. Let him answer for himself. They are not light words, to accuse you of being used by Satan. But destroying a church...Have heard enough of this kind of nonsense before and to think that anyone of us can come here and make note of it without consequence, without good reason, without scriptural precedent, without testing, without fear of just Who it is we have to give account to, to spiritualise this without question... Your reasonings are absurd and without biblical precedence.Where is the fear of God?Where is the trembling and deep sorrow if this was to really be true?Where is the warnings? What about the consequences? What happens when this doesn't come to pass?Does the prophet retire and go to shame? Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart. Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed. Joshua,With all due respect don't pray for me in this matter, this is not the issue of my opinion here. I am greatly concerned about what you are doing and the damage you can cause and may be causing already. That what you have expressed here originally by posting this has opened it up to those who care about you and I am appealing to whether or not you have truly thought this through to it's ramifications and consequences. The questions I raised earlier are those that stood out as you seem to be in doubt about much of this and have left out a great deal of particulars. With the seriousness of what you are 'prophesying' it would be foolish to just take your word for it as it was expressed earlier. It is far too simple to dismiss this all out of hand by your last statement. Not quite sure which is more upsetting, this particular 'word' you believe was your's to deliver or some of the counsel that is ready to affirm it without question. This is not the mistaken notion often attempted that the counter rebuttal proves the prophet correct. Oftentimes it is the very voices we don't want to hear that we should be paying closer attention to and a few of them are here, asking questions because they are concerned enough for your sake. What warrant do you have scripturally for this?

C
Compton

Joshua,Bro you are on the edge here! This could be a learning experience...I'll be honest and tell you I think you are in the wrong here. Now I'm not saying this to hurt you. On the contrary, you seem young enough to learn not to take the path so may "prophetic" people follow of rejecting sound counsel from older saints.Prophetic people are famous for feeling misunderstood and isolating themselves from the rest of the body. They console each other that the reason their words are rejected is because people don't like the "truth." Actually this isn't the case all the time. Most "prophets" are offensive because they prophesy with impunity. My input into your delimma is to consider the words of other saints including your pastor. Afterall, even Peter was told by Jesus that he was being used by Satan at one point...and Peter was the 'rock'! Anyone of us can "be a tool of Satan" if we are not careful. Speaking publicly for God is sober business. If you think I am being unfair advising you to listen to other saints in this matter, then perhaps you could listen to yourself...About me being a 'tool of Satan' by my own pastor, I will be speaking to him about that. Because, he is making God in his own image.(God never condemns His people)Well, apparently he does according to you. ...the church 'I' condemnedKeep seeking the Lord on this matter Joshua,MC

Boy, this is a rough one and I can sympathize with all of the Reply-ers on here. It's rough on me, because of who is posting and because of emotional entanglement with every single reply-er.So this has to be from "me" and I have to stand aside from my emotions for all.#1 Dear Joshua ... I referred you to Chip because he writes the most about Prophets or those given to the Prophesies. He is an older man than you, and could immediately judge a prophecy and "if" you are "called to the prophetic", He is the man that can be trusted, to guide you into these things.A Prophet is not a lone-ranger anymore, under the New Covenant. So maybe your not a Prophet or maybe you are, but nonetheless you are "pronouncing prophecies" and under the New Covenant, prophets are still subject to other prophets in the Church.Secondly, "IF" you are a prophet or are given "prophesies" or "gifts of healing", as I've said on this forum many times, "you don't go around announcing it". That would be pride, despite the fact that it may be a legitimate prophecy. You have to learn to only bring it here, IF you want others to "prove it" ... in the sense of "testing all things".We all are Commanded to "test all things", even a "Prophet's" prophecies ... even in the O.T., they were to test the Prophets accuracy etc, to prove if he or she were "right on".#2 Dear Mike, I think it's only fair that you be given the right to disagree with Joshua and felt in your last post a love there. But if I for one, called another person's post "rubbish", you'd be barking at my heels in a heart beat. You know that.I'm not trying to rebuke a Moderator here, but from my own past experience, I've been rebuked for saying less by you.I love you and my heart sincerely goes out to you for the weight of the burden for this website and the protection of it is a mutual burden we share, but as you told me ... we need to watch our words a little more carefully.Dear Dorcas, I only can say what I've said to Joshua. And I only say what I have to Joshua, because I am a prophetess. HA !!!All joking aside for a minute ... AS SOON AS I got saved, the Lord used me in discernment and prophecy .... BUT, BUT, BUT ... I was new to these things, and had to come under the teachings of other prophets to understand when "the flesh" is mingled in (mixed cloth) and that prophets are still only Human and can have "personal feelings" get mingled in with their "hearing".Not saying that "this word that Josh got was 100% off" ,,, but by leaving a note and then seeming callous to the response and posting these things here, shows an immaturity in the "gift".Yes, when a prophet feels they have a word, "they" should test it with the Lord first, before giving it.Then, they just speak it out to 'whomever' the Lord leads them to speak it to. Not leave notes, etc..And yet still, even if they tested it with the Lord, they still need to stay more humble than any other of the gifts or callings, because of the gravity of this calling and the things "spoken".If we look at the state of the Church in general, my God, there are few and far between that are legitimate. If, I felt the Lord had this word for a Church that I "loved", as Josh said he did, then I already know how the Lord would deliver this message .... In deep grieving and tears, I would make an appointment with the Pastor and tell him.And then depending on his response ... the next move, if I still felt the burden from the Lord, I would ask the Lord to put the words in my mouth to speak out loud to the whole congregation of "what" the Lord has against them, to give them the opportunity to repent and not give a "specific time" of when this "destruction will come". Too many 'young' folks in the Fellowship that would not know how to take "prophecies of destruction".... and I know the Holy Spirit is a Gentlemen when it comes to children, the young in Christ, the overly sensitive and the mentally challenged. Most decent sized Churches consist of all of these types. We do need to come under some sort of "testing field" in our prophesies and/or "how" they are delivered and "where" they are delivered.I believe you believe all of this, so I don't actually feel I'm coming above you on this, or anyone else. When I was younger in Christ, the enemy "has" infiltrated through my emotions before and given "words" that were not from God ... so I did have to test things, but I had to "learn how" to "test things" and that took much time in maturing in these gifts and it takes every single one of us, no matter what gift we have or don't have, to "Learn His Voice" above all the Others out there, including our own (flesh/human voice inside of us.).No human is 100% inerrant or totally protected from emotions or influence from the enemy. We all are susceptible to human and demonic influence, other wise the warnings to "not be deceived" wouldn't be in His Word.Josh's note that he wrote and left 'somewhere' may be from God, but there is still a 50/50 chance that it is not.I judge my own words that way and I think Chip, just for one, would say the same thing. IT is Yet to be proved. My personal opinion is, in 3 years the whole country and all the Churches will be not as they are now. But, I've also learned to add, "but I could be off here".... 'despite' that I think I'm right.Humility in a prophet and maturity are two of the most needed virtues a prophet can seek.So instead of fires from Hell ... these fires coming at Josh should and could be used as the fires of testing and maturing him.I appeal again that Josh contact Chip ... to run this by him and to learn from him.Like Samuel's school of the prophets, that all prophets SHOULD attend IMHO.I'm praying for Peace and Love between us ALL.And Romans 8:28 being "for" vs. 29 for all of us.just me again

Hey Mike,Weighing my words here because of the "emotions" that I mentioned that I have for all who have written on this thread is very difficult, as Compton replied in kind. The only way that I can respond at all, is by taking the time to try to get to know you all.How difficult that's been has been the hurdle of a lifetime for me, personally.Just to stick to you and me, for now.The first time you jumped me, I almost fell over, the second time, I cried, the third time I shot back. Now, why did either of us ever shoot back at each other ... because we haven't been eyeball to eyeball yet and truly don't "know" each other. My other side of this is ... if I disagree with what you say Mike, would you want my first words to be, "Mike, this is rubbish." ?You are merely expressing your "opinion", so why should I disrespect your "opinion".Now if you said, "Jesus is not God" ... now then, I'd sure be tempted to use those words, and probably worse ... :-) .Pow, I'd come after ya. This whole thread is opinions. Not necessarily "use it and lose it" doctrines. It's one of those times that even I have to say, "We'll see."I would like to know your opinion on all else that was in my post.Mike, to change the subject sort of, I need prayer today BIG TIME. No Joke.Back in June of 2002, I was bit by one ant and because of that, I have been disabled ever since. It triggered an immune-response that is now eating me alive.Last summer, I got bit on 3 separate occasions, and those bites lasted 3 months each.I saw a Missionary Doctor, who is my GP and asked him WHY I get such severe reactions to ants.He said, because my immune system is so terribly whacked from having Lyme Disease and M.E. for so long. And that each time I am bit by another ant, the reaction will be worse.Well today, I stood on an ant hill of all things and have been bit about 10 times. At first I thought it was twice that many because of how fast I blow up from these bites. Please pray and anyone else who would that this doesn't turn into the worse trip ever for me.Not trying to change the subject, but this is the prayer thread and I do need prayer desperately and even as heavy as a thread that this is ... it's hard for me to keep my mind off of what going on in my body right now. It's spreading through my whole body now.I will call my Dr tomorrow, but I just want prayer to keep things together until then.Thank you and whomever else.Mike, I think we can disagree, but just by hitting the sentences we disagree with and not the person.I love you very much and always have. (believe it or not ;-) )You're a special dude and only God knows the pain that each of us have been through, that causes us to post as each of us does.God Bless you and your work here.God Bless each and every SI poster here too.Love one another.Sincerely,Annie

Dorcas,This is all a bunch of rubbish. At least it is based on my experience of God speaking to me personally, and giving me insight for others from time to time, and my observation of charismatic churches operating effectively in this realm, for more years than I care to count. Let him answer for himself. My answer does/did not prevent Joshua from answering. But destroying a church...It depends on one's defintion of 'a church'. Is it a place where people gather to acknowledge the Name of God at various times in the week, or is it the people, wherever they may be.This has a bearing on Joshua himself, as part of the local body of those who know the Lord, regardless of where or with whom he meets on a Sunday or any other time. Those of us who know the Lord don't stop getting revelation just because Sunday is over, or because we've left the church premises. You know that. There is also a phrase in Rev 2:9 and 3:9 -synagogue of Satan - which is very strong language. There is a proper meaning to that phrase and I'm not trying to interject it here as anything but an example of the way language can be used to convey meaning. When Joshua said God is going to destroy 'a church', the only sense which can be made of that is that He is displeased with the people who gather together under the name of 'a church'. There is the strong implication that they 'are not' 'a church' (in reality)..... which is why God is giving a warning.Have heard enough of this kind of nonsense beforeHow do you know it's nonsense? Please answer this.Does it make you feel uneasy to think of God answering the prayers of those who've been praying He'll do something for those people to wake them up?and to think that anyone of us can come here and make note of it without consequence,I don't understand this part of the sentence.... 'make note of it without consequence'....? .... I hope you will explain.without good reason,Again, what do you mean by 'good reason'? Are we not discussing Joshua's predicament in having rushed into giving a word to the whole church, perhaps a little too hastily? Perhaps not? How would we know if it was too hastily or not? Isn't it important to obey the Lord? Yes! But sometimes He has to say 'While I like your enthusiasm, not like that next time, please.'without scriptural precedent,Are you rejecting the Lord's word to the churches at the beginning of Revelation? Or do you mean you'd rather Joshua had posted that reference? without testing,As Joshua was not to the first to receive this word from the Lord, it appears that he was the judge of another brother's word from God. I hear what Annie has recommended to Joshua regarding contacting Chip Brogden's ministry, but I have a deal of sympathy with anyone who is used to moving according to the Spirit's leading the rest of the time, being asked suddenly to question this word, more than others previously received. It's a bit like asking the person who is used to praying for the sick and seeing them healed, to stop and question before praying for someone to be raised from the dead, because it appears to our human thinking that this is a 'bigger' thing for which God has asked one to have faith. I see the human logic, but nothing spiritual to commend it.without fear of just Who it is we have to give account to,A person who is used to communing with the Lord and his Father in heaven, may not feel this fear. Faith works by love, and Joshua has had many experiences of hearing from God, on which he has acted, with the results which he expected. You are asking him to have less faith in this word from God because you are frightened? It is a continuous walk, being born again. It is not as if this word has come out of the blue after years of silence from God. Joshua is interacting with Him all the time in many different situations with people both Christian and non-Christian. IF he is completely off centre on this one word, then the Lord will correct him ... yes, perhaps through us... but more likely through the experience he's living through right now, of facing people's reaction to what he's shared both in 3D and on this forum. to spiritualise thisGod destroying 'a church' is a spiritual event if it happens. I didn't need to add anything to it.without question...It's not a matter of 'without question'. It's a matter of faith. I cannot argue that Joshua did not hear from God. God has not said that to me. I have met Joshua, and the Spirit gave me exactly the same burden that evening, as Joshua received. I would have done things slightly differently, next, but God definitely moved in answer to Joshua's prayer, and I have no reason to think or believe on principle, that God could NOT have said what Joshua claims He did. What I would say, as I did earlier, is that this is a learing experience - for Joshua (and for me) - to see the kind of responses which have followed the leading prayer request. My instinct is to listen to what the Lord is, or will say to me, if anything, through the Spirit, and to hold Joshua steady in the Spirit, until this choppy sea has settled. There is nothing to be gained by God or for God, by taking the view that Joshua must be wrong.... and God could not have said that to him.... therefore somehow we all have to put him right. No. God will put Joshua right, if there is any putting right to be done, because Joshua is the one who has to continually refine his spiritual hearing, if this situation is a) wrong or b) to be avoided in future or c) not to be avoided in future because 'it' is/was God's will.Your reasonings are absurd and without biblical precedence.I could say the same to you, but I'm not sure what the point would be.As it happens, I was in the room the first time the prophecies about the effect of the death of Princess Diana came forth from the Lord. At the time, they were so absurd as to make one feel most uncomfortable. The more uncomfortable thing still, is that they came to pass some years later, just as I had heard prophesied several times. I'm a bit sorry I have had this experience, but it makes me less willing to jump on the bandwagon of doubt to which you invite me.Having said all this, I am aware this word may not come to pass in the way some - perhaps Joshua too - might expect it, if it comes to pass in any way at all. But, that is not a reason to remove all brotherly support from Joshua in his effort to obey God as he understood himself to have been challenged. In the depths of my heart, I want to believe God is going to disturb that church sufficiently for the Holy Spirit to begin moving there and bring about the changes He desires. That would be glorious. And that would constitute the destruction of the spiritual edifice which exists there at the moment.

I don't know, but I 'think' I see where the mix up could have started for all of us here.YeshuaIsMyGd wrote:Hello, I'm now in a 'tough' spot.My best friend and I received a Word from God that God is going to destroy a church within 3 years. "Now, is not the time."Please Pray for us.What I see here is ...I think #1 - the fact that this was brought here at all and for what reason, judging by these opening words above ?#2 - those words "Profound amount of witnesses" could either mean our opinion is wanted or not ?#3 - I think the enemy is using this to divide this Body ... us here at SI, who have come to love each other deeply.#4 - To destroy the credibility of some very dear sisters and brothers.#5 - And if I may give my opinion here, without it being called a bunch of rubbish .... I do detect a "young person's" pride in this and the 'love of him' by others can have a blinding affect to the "logicalness" of this entire thread, the subject matter and why it was started. There are so many lousey-rotten-nonBiblical-abusive Churches out there, I wish the Lord would deal with every single one of them ... but according to HIS Word ... the Bad ones will gain the power and ascendancy and the good ones will be pad-locked. :-( This should not be allowed to personally cause a division between all of us and Joshua, I pray you never post anything like this again, that "appears" as if you are looking for "opinions or confirmations" just to later let us know that you never wanted our opinions, unless they cheered you on.Sorry, but if I saw 'The Body' of believers here, having to take sides against each other because of some 'phenomena' that I've 'personally' experienced ... I would see the harm I've caused the Body with my 'own thing'.Jealousy for the Body's Unity here should have come first in your mind on this thread ... not the posting of what you feel are your exploits. If we differ on "teachings" here, that is one thing ... but this has been a big tadoo over someone's "prophetic accuracy". How on earth can that be "proved" enough for us to risk Rifts here over it ?Josh, you haven't posted on here enough for me to believe you care about all of us, as much as you care about "your own words".I don't know what type Churches you attend down there ... if they are linked to Pensacola or what ? But something is amiss here and I think this thread has just been a major attack on SI's members and threatens 'friendships' here.Just my feelings based upon your first post quoted above and judging this action by it's FRUIT.We are to judge things/actions/persons by their FRUIT.What you've basically done in a nut-shell is ... post that you are looking for something out of us by posting it ... "What" I don't know .... and then when the mess starts between brothers and sisters over your personal prophecy, you disappear basically.Sister Dorcas has an extremely large and 'protective of other's' heart ... and I think her heart is being put to the test here by this.If you bring something to this Forum, you have to realize you are going to generate responses from a 100 viewpoints ..... So why DID you post this here ?

Do I dare ...First the 'qualifers'.I am not 'angry' as to what will follow. But I do need to be rather blunt here. The one person missing from this whole equation is the poster himself. There is far too much meddling, defending and putting words into our brothers mouth intentional or otherwise, why all the answering and explanations to questions directed to him? In the name of 'playing the ball and not the man' am finding a great deal of this something on the order of spiritual physchology, it's still rubbish and nonsense as it applies to the matter at hand in my stinking opinion and that we may deal with at a later point, have no fear nor anything to gain nor hide and may well need to be rebuked for whatever hypocrisy, duplicity, choice of words ... good grief, am not about to defend anything here, this is far off the issue at hand.Joushua,I really hope you are not swayed by anything you are hearing from anyone here, but that you test all things by Gods word, including what you have already delivered. From what little you have told us in asking for prayer over this originaly has generated a number of questions and concerns. I am coming down rather forcefully because of the severity of the word choosen, "Destroy" and if anything it is a prevention in damage control if you might, to yourself and to others. The fact that you came asking for confirmation after the fact, that you stated your timing was off, that you wrote this on a piece of paper as to be annyonomous, the lack of any scriptural warrant ... most of these questions have been asked already, but they raise serious red flags not the least of which for everyone else here is ... Does anyone really take these things seriously? One of the great problems in our modern day 'prophetic' utterances is the lack of any real seriousness back of it. Bluntly, I dont think most of the hearers nor even the speakers themselves really believe it deep dowm inside. It has gotten to a point where anybody can speak in Gods Name without a true realisation of just Who it is they are prepurting to utter things prophetically speaking. Will this even been remembered 3 months from now, let alone 3 years? Frankly I do not think that what is termed 'prophetic' as a gift of prophecy is all of this sort of prediction business anyway, but that's another issue.Bottom line. Brother, are you serious and have you taken in to account just how serious this 'word' is? Not sincere, have no question about that, but serious. It is serious business.

Hi Annie,I don't feel particularly hard-pressed. It may be you've read into my posts 'emotions' I don't feel. I didn't 'hear' Joshua asking SI members to take sides. I heard him asking us to pray. Perhaps the midwife mentality is deeply engrained in me... by which I mean, I know whose baby it is and I don't try to take over... I am quick to hand it back to the mother and talk her through how to do the work. (I would confess that I have not always been as clear about boundaries as I think I am today.)Mike,You have obviously (from what you say, obliquely) had many disappointing experiences of people claiming to have heard from God, when manifestly they had not. This seems to have made you overly sceptical in an indiscriminate way.... While I understand your scepticism, I don't think it's fair to assume it is warranted. Nor do I think that (scepticism) is what is meant by the scriptural injunction for prophets to judge the words of another prophet.I've been aware of defending only one thing, and that's Joshua's right to claim to have heard from God. Subsequent to that claim, I defend his right to learn from God as he lives through the outworking of the effects of how he dealt with that word at the time.

Annie, I've been following everyone's opinions on this matter and using it and testing it. But, in all honesty, I NEVER asked for anyone's opinions. So my prayer request is, that God CONFIRMS His word, with NUMEROUS witnesses, not just 2 or 3, but a PROFOUND amount, so that it's INDESPUTABLE that this word is from God.I didn't REQUEST that from you, but instead from God.I know that sounds bluntly, but NUMEROUS times on SI, people have taken what I've said and turned/twisted it. Causing bad fruit. And to a major exstent I believe it's in the presentation of my words. Then again, to ASSURE my words, I again post 'Dont give me a scorpion instead of a fish' or in more literal words 'dont debate, pray for me'.I've saught the counsel of NUMEROUS people on this matter, different backgrounds and etc. If I wanted your opinions, I would've posted it in the Lounge. And said 'What do you think on this matter'. But instead, I titled this 'PRAYER REQUEST'. Sorry that you guys mis-interupted what I THOUGHT I clearly stated.I know how serious this was/is. So serious, I ran so fast with it I tripped on a rock. "Tripped" meaning in the delievery of the word. This church has 30 years of friendship with my pastor. Also, has the 'negivtive' look of Brownsville and Toronto. Demonic manifestations that most of us have read about. THEY CONDONE THAT!Do I love this church? Not really. Do I love the people in it? YES! I love EACH and EVERYONE of them. But I believe God is going to destory the 4 walls and desperse them into other churches, unless they repent. Will they? No! Because they think they are fine. I PRAY that they repent though!!I have pride in the lack of my replies? No, It's just I don't eat rotten fruit.(Bitterness, anger, resentment, 'know-it-all' theology/knowledge..etc) That's why on SI, if you haven't seen, I really don't partake of those threads that last more than 5 pages. Why, cause most become very un-fruitful and posion MY walk with God. Others can take is longer, but I can. That's my convictions. But I'm trying to show my point on not replying to unfruitful things.A few times on SI, I have said "COME ON STOP FIGHTING" but I just see that my voice is a cry in the wilderness and I just pray that God will rise up someone else on SI to calm so of the fighting down. The orginal intent of this thread, is just EXACTUALLY what the title says. PRAYER REQUEST.Did you pray for me? Or did you post your '2 cents' before you went to God on the matter? (Re-tor-ical question)I will be meeting with the pastor by the end of this week. And I will repent of the DELIEVERY of the word but clearly state that I CAN"T repent of the word itself and PRAY that it doesn't come to pass, but then again, don't want to pray against God's will.See how double-minded I am? That's why I need your prayers. That and numerous other reasons.I just ask that you all 'swallow your pride' and just pray for me. Don't post, just pray. And if you get SOMETHING FROM GOD, I'll test it and if it truly is from God, you'd be the vessel that God uses to answer my ORGINAL prayer request. (Confirmed by numerous witnesses). I tired of opinions, Jesus is all that matters, so please, just pray.

Hi YeshuaIsMyGd...I have been praying for you and this entire situation. While I must admit that I do not agree with the "word" that you claim that you were given, nor do agree with the method that you went about in giving this "word" -- I will continue to pray that God performs a wonderful work even in this ugly situation. My prayers have been directed as such:I pray that the Church in question will take every step possible in order to line up with the Word of God -- and that the Lord will have a strong relationship within the lives of each person in that Church. This is the heart of God -- to draw men unto Himself for fellowship. There have been few times in history that God felt that an entire body was so lost that He felt inclined to destroy it. It happened to Sodom. Yet God "repented" when it came to Nineveh (Jonah 3:10; 4:1-11). Even more specifically, I am praying for you, Joshua. It is evident that you are a young man with a wonderful love for the Lord. I am praying that your faith will not fail. I am praying that nothing will interfere with your relationship with God -- and that you will continue to grow into the stature of Christ. Joshua, most of us that have been involved in the SermonIndex fellowship of believers have received our share of rebukes. But the interesting thing is that, right or wrong, the individuals offering such words actually care enough to share. If an individual doesn't care, they can easily remain silent. May you take comfort in the fact that many of us care about you enough to take the time to both pray and share. As you have said, you didn't ask for anyone's opinion. But as many people here have suggested, you would do well to at least consider the words of others. Proverbs 11:14 states that there can be safety (or victory) with a multitude of advisors (or counselors). We are not trying to bring unbiblical doubt into your heart. If your words are truly from God as you suggest, then nothing can prevent them from happening -- including any "seeds of doubt." But the people here may be worried about what could happen if nothing happens after three years. What if, after three years, your "word" never comes to pass? Will you doubt your relationship with Christ? Will others doubt all of your future "words?" I am deeply troubled because of this. This is no small matter. You have, speaking for God, proclaimed destruction upon a church. In a day when "words of the Lord" are easily and frequently given without thought to consequence, believers need to test such things (I Thessalonians 5:21). Like I said, my prayer is that God will create a wonderful work out of this ugly situation. :-)

The original intent of this thread, is just EXACTLY what the title says. PRAYER REQUEST. Did you pray for me? Or did you post your '2 cents' before you went to God on the matter? (Re-tor-ical question)One important aspect of prayer is HEARING God, and so when you ask for prayer, you also must accept that your pray-ers might hear a word from God different than you, (or any of us) wish to hear. Prayer is not requesting that God do what WE want or expect. Actually, prayer is risky. Also, it is a two-way conversation. , I really don't partake of those threads that last more than 5 pages. Why, cause most become very un-fruitful and poison You can only "know" the probability of threads that you do not participate in by basing on past experience, or you get it supernaturally from the Lord. I believe that this is not a prophetic insight given to you from God in your own prayer times for SI. Why? Because it is not true! Well - maybe at times it is true. Yet sometimes it is not until far along into a thread that the Spirit breaks through the back-and-forth struggling and – well – we are all the better for our perseverance. Your assumption is much like saying, I won’t have a discussion with anyone for more than five minutes because anything said after that is unfruitful and poison. (to use your own words) Now, I ask, is that prophetic insight or a perception based on past experience. So, if you are in error in this prophetic pronouncement about SI threads, then why should we trust your prophetic word regarding your church?I am not disclaiming your calling, whatever that may end up looking like, or even that God may be touching you and speaking to you. However, there is still some significant refining to undergo. I trust that you will learn through this experience and grow. And, ABOVE ALL, do read the links that Annie gave you for "the School of Christ" by Chip Brodgen!!!!!!!!! They are excellent for YOU at this time. They will save you a lot of future confusion, grief, blunders, time, energy.... and built your walk with God. Actually they are excellent for ALL OF US!!!! We all should all read them, or we will just give "advise" based on our own perceptions which may be plagued with blind spots and lack of understanding. And also, we may risk throwing out the baby with the bath-water. Consider this: "If you want advice about raising kids, ask someone who hasn't had any." Sometimes those who know the least about something have the most to say about it. That does not negate the many helpful words addressed to you here.Do keep on growing and learning. The path to maturity is downward - a decreasing, often humiliating, and filled with mistakes and blunders. And the humiliation is intensified when in front of a bunch of people - especially our peers. But that is the way of God. If we resist, God is quite able to "turn up the heat" in our lives in order to produce the brokenness that he is seeking. Do not resist, lest you be disqualified, as so many are. You are here because God led you. And through the decreasing process, Christ increases within you. And the spirit of prophesy is Christ. God bless you, brother. Diane

First, Chris. Your post was a blessing. I thank you for it. For me, 1000 counselers causes me a headache more than an answer. I have an abundant of counselers in my life already and have heard and received and tested all their words. I just don't want a headache, that's why I asked for no imput :-DTo Diane's post. I will answer much of your questions, with what I ORGINALLY posted, cause yet again, someone either doesn't read everything I've said, or takes it and twists it. This is me below (in quote)That's why on SI, if you haven't seen, I really don't partake of those threads that last more than 5 pages. Why, cause most become very un-fruitful and posion MY walk with God.That's not a prophetic utterance, just something personal for myself. IT CAUSES ME TO STUMBLE, why? because of past experiences. I have looked at some threads that have 20 pages and check them out and was like 'wow, I was pre-judging cause this thread is amazing.' and then I'd go back and read EVERY single post. Also, I read Annie's links yesterday, great sound teaching.ALso, Annie why did you post that thing on Wimber, what is the revlence. For myself, this topic is closed. Why? Because I've spoken with the pastor that I gave the message to. Reaction, read Amos 7. "Do your eating and prophesing elsewhere". was said to Amos.Brothers and sisters, I love you all. If you can't tell, God has done a HUGE work in my life in the past 3 months. I've gotten such a HUGE grasp on God's love, then OUTTA NO WHERE, God gives me this word. Weither you think it's right or not. My heart is clear. And I'm still learning.I strongly repent of the delievery of the Word, but the word itself, my spirit can't repent. I had a vision of God warning me if I repent of the word itself. This causes the FEAR of God within my heart. I love Jesus, but it's ALSO a fearful thing to fall in the hands of God.There is a balence, and I don't know where that is. And I hope to find it, but for now, I don't want to hear 'words' like that any more, for this season in my life. Even if it is from God. And I believe God will honor that. I want Him to train me, so that, NEXT time, I'm more than ready, but instead I'm completly seasoned.(not complete, but seasoned).I hope you can all understand. Love and Grace.

Thank you for your clarification, YeshuaismyGod. I can appreciate that "advice" can be overwhelming, burdensome, and not always what we desire for the moment. I trust that you can sift what is meant for you at this time. These words kind of grab my radar:I don't want to hear 'words' like that any more, for this season in my life. Even if it is from God.Well - whatever - it's better that you are honest with God about how you feel. There have been times that I have told God I was fed up with him, and to please lay off. (Mind you, the hound from heaven doesn't always answer such prayers, especially if he knows that deep down we really do wish to be conformed to his image - at ANY cost) May God be your heavenly hound. And I trust that you will remain open to his refining work in your life.. as you say... . And I'm still learning.Bless you, DianePS I just had a stray thought: I wonder if the way you feel about our word to you is somewhat how your pastor feels about your word to him.

Joshua,I rarely post these days and the Lord is restricting my Internet time but would encourage you to press in and once you're clear and he's told you to speak and when to do it then it's your responsibility to simply do it.Sounds like you're doing that in some measure. I know that Jesus is always faithful to send the necessary discipline when we blow it and it's oftentimes quite painful to do what He asks. I pray that as you obey that His voice would become clearer and your discernment would increase as you test the spirits (1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.)

Quote:" I just don't want a headache, that's why I asked for no imput"Then why post your "stuff" here ? Where is that action in the Bible, when a prophet gives a word ... where they say "Thus saith the Lord" and then later goes to a group and says, "I'm in a tough spot now, oh you better pray for me" ? You may think you've grown in the last 3 months, but I'm having to say this outright Josh ... in 30 years of being used in the Prophetic, someone saved today could be used by God to give me guidance, even a child and every word that comes to me from others here, matters. You said not a few times, that you don't want our input on here, in so many words, so I'm still upset with this entire thread and your attitude in it.Immature and bossy .... yes.Immature and bossy "with" the prophetic .... NO, I'm sorry, I've never seen that combination work out.Quotes: ""For myself, this topic is closed. There is a balence, and I don't know where that is.""I'll tell you what the balance is ... try humility. And this thread has made me so sick inside that I really need a break now from Forums. To see divisions come here, over 'just you' and your "words from God" does make one sick.I was more than willing weeks ago, and did, point you toward Chip ... but be honest here ... you were too rapped up in yourself to pay attention to that PM and the second and third time I posted Chip to you and so sure of yourself and your actions and words, that no one else's mattered to you. Please, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.Whoever says "Thus saith the Lord" had BETTER know what on earth they are doing and by your rudeness to most of our responses on here, I'd fear all the more if I were you.If you're old enough to "prophecy destruction" than you're old enough to hear all that I've just said and what everyone else has.Don't cry "I'm young" whenever you want us to be liberal with you, but then tell us we don't know what on earth we're talking about. What type of denomination or group do you attend ?I think the answer to that is the answer to all that's happened with this thread. If I lose friends over this, so be it. Truth matters more to me than fly by night/fair weather friends, saints or "brethren", who are tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine, because of their wanting to "be somebody" around here or anywhere else.Your answers and lack of them have made me sick, physically and spiritually and have done the same to others too. But because you are so sure of your phenomena, you feel it's our problem if your posts are rude and cocky. "Huge grasp on God's Love" ? ... not seen on this thread buddy. How dare you compare yourself with an inerrant Prophet found in our Bibles, Because an Amos you are not !Only the coming two witnesses will have that much going for them.Paul rebuked Peter openly, so don't expect anything less from us under-dogs on here.I don't want to hear it's "youth" not "pride", because I've known young children to have gifts without their pride. That's just an excuse. You had better read the O.T. again, where God warns that if one says "Thus saith the Lord", they had better have that straighter than an arrow.I'd say you just need a good humbling from the Lord God Jesus Christ Joshua and I pray it comes to you soon and really soon at that, before you hurt anyone else, including yourself.Love.Annie
