O Christ! we rest in Thee
Verse 1
O Christ! we rest in Thee, In Thee ourselves we hide; Laden with guilt and misery, Where could we rest beside? ' Tis on Thy meek and lowly breast Our weary souls alone can rest.
Verse 2
Thou Holy One of God! The Father rests in Thee, And in the savour of that blood Once shed on Calvary. The curse is gone—through Thee we're blest; God rests in Thee—in Thee we rest.
Verse 3
Soon the bright, glorious day, The rest of God, shall come; Sorrow and sin shall pass away, And we shall reach our home; Then, of the promised land possessed, Our souls shall know eternal rest.
