I have a friend so precious, So very dear to me; He loves me with such tender love, His love's so fair and sweet; I could not live apart from Him, I love to feel Him nigh; And so we dwell together, My Lord and I.

Sometimes I'm faint and weary, He knows that I am weak; And as He bids me lean on Him, His help I gladly seek; He leads me in the paths of light, Beneath a sunny sky; And so we walk together, My Lord and I.

He knows how much I love Him, And if I love Him well; But with what love He loveth me, My tongue can never tell; It is an everlasting love, Much more as days go by; And so we love each other, My Lord and I.

I tell Him all my sorrows, I tell Him all my joys; I tell Him all that pleases me, I tell Him what annoys; He tells me what I ought to do, He tells me how to try; And so we talk together, My Lord and I.

He knows my heart's such longing, Some weary soul to win; And so He bids me go and speak, The loving word for Him; He bids me tell His wondrous love, And why He came to die; And so we work together, My Lord and I.

He tells me that His Kingdom Is not too far from here; He longs to speed that day to come, That He would bring me there; With hope of joy and blessedness, And glorious throne in sight; We soon shall reign together, My Lord and I.

Kaibigan mahalaga, Minamahal ko Siya; Magiliw ang pag-ibig Niya, Kay tamis, kay ganda; Ako'y di mabubuhay pa, Kung Panginoon wala; Kaya nga't magkasama, Ako at Siya.

Kung minsa'y natitisod, Alam Niya'ng hina ko; Nguni't Siya'y aking taguyod, Maaasahan ko; At sa daang maliwanag, Aking patnubay Siya; Sabay kaming lumakad, Ako at Siya.

Alam Niya kung gaano, Siya'y aking minahal; Nguni't hindi ko matanto Pag-ibig Niyang sakdal; Pag-ibig Niya'y walang hanggan, Lalong nagbabaga; Kami'y nagmamahalan, Ako at Siya.

Ako ay nagsasabi Ng lungkot, tuwa ko; Sa Kanya'y ibabahagi Mithi at yamot ko; Naghahayag Siya sa akin Ng dapat kong gawin; Kami'y magkaulayaw, Ako at Siya.

Alam Niya ang hangad ko, Ang tao'y maligtas; Kaya't ako'y sinusugo Nang magpatalastas; Pag-ibig Niya'y isalaysay, At pagkamatay Niya; Magkasamang gumawa, Ako at Siya.

Kaharia'y sasapit, Hindi maglalaon; Nais Niyang aking makamit Gantimpala roon; Sa luklukan ng l'walhati, Tuwa't pagpapala; Kami ay maghahari, Ako at Siya.
