Many times at night on my bed,

Beginning-note
Song of Songs 3-4
Verse 1
Many times at night on my bed, I sought Him whom my soul delighted; I sought, but He could not be found, Thus, I wander around. O brethren will you please tell me so, Where didst my heart most beloved go? That I may run and bring Him back, Thus, to enjoy His love without lack. Brethren lead me, they are my guide, That I in true fellowship abide; Lo! my love is just by my side, Never from me doth slide.
Verse 2
I, th' object of His love He took, Filled with Spirit as pillars of smoke. Thy death, resurrection conform, Myrrh and sweet fragrance borne. As His palanquin I am blest, That through me Thou mayest move and rest. As one of Israel's men of might, With sword I combat the fear at night. Help from valiant men around me, Make me feel safe and securely be. Thy unlimited love show me, Conform to Thy 'mage be.
Verse 3
Mountain of myrrh I long to go, All that I am in death I forego; Hill of frankincense I ascend, Shadows evanescent. Since my fairness Thou admitted, Enjoying my love hast completed; One look from me ravished Thy heart, All spices can't match my oils in part. I'm willing to Lebanon see, His power of ascendency; I'm willing in Hermon to dwell, The cross' vict'ry declare.
Verse 4
Oh, may honey from my lips drop, Thou may enjoy the sweetness of love; May my living fill with sweet smell, Like Lebanon that's swell! Oh Lord, I beg that Thou come quickly, My whole being occupied by Thee. A garden closed, a spring shut up, All for Thy fountain they were closed up. Awake, North wind and come, thou South; Blow 'pon my gard'n let spices flow out, Let my beloved come to His gard'n, To enjoy all therein.
