1 Sermon Illustrations on Spiritual Preparedness

1 illustration

Spiritual preparedness involves maintaining a vigilant and ready heart to face life's challenges, symbolized by keeping one's lamp lit in darkness. This readiness reflects an ongoing grace that equips believers to endure trials and remain faithful (Matthew 25:1-13). It emphasizes watchfulness and continual dependence on God’s strength.

Light, in Darkness

Keeping the lamp of grace lit prepares believers for life’s dark passages and trials.

Travelling in the cars, you will often see the lamps lighted in broad day, preparatory to a passage through a dark tunnel, or for the coming night. A wise precaution requires that the lamp of grace be lit up in the heart, that we may be in readiness for the dark passages in life, or the darker hereafter.
