Copying Permission Statement
For more than twenty-two years, SermonIndex has been entrusted with a sacred privilege. Thousands of pastors, missionaries, evangelists, and ministry leaders from around the world have entrusted us with their messages so that they might continue to speak to future generations.
We do not see these sermons as mere recordings or resources. They are testimonies of God’s work through faithful servants who preached Christ and called the Church to repentance, holiness, and revival. To steward these messages is a solemn responsibility that we undertake with gratitude and reverence before the Lord. (2 Timothy 1:14, 1 Corinthians 4:12)
It has been our prayer from the beginning that these sermons would continue to strengthen believers, awaken hearts, and stir a deeper love for Christ in generations yet to come. We carry this responsibility in the fear of the Lord, recognizing that the gospel we handle is holy and precious.
Freely Received, Freely Given
From its earliest days, SermonIndex has carried the desire that these messages be freely shared for the glory of God and the strengthening of His Church.
George Fox a 17th century minister challenged the body of Christ in his day saying, “Christ commanded His ministers to give freely, as they had received freely.” and “The Gospel of Christ is not to be sold for money, but to be declared freely. He that preaches for money has his reward, but not from Christ.”
For this reason, the sermons, recordings, and materials hosted on SermonIndex are made available without cost so they can be used to bless others. Our desire is simply that these messages would continue to spread the knowledge of Christ throughout the world.

In the 19th century, C.H. Spurgeon said: “The Gospel is not to be bought or sold. I cannot bear to hear of a man who puts a price upon sermons or prayers.” and “We do not serve for pay; we feed the flock of God not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind. It is detestable that men should teach in order to earn money by it… God save us from such degradation!”
For Personal and Ministry Use
All materials on SermonIndex are freely available for personal edification and for the work of discipleship and evangelism. These messages may be shared with others, played in churches, homes, Bible studies, and ministry gatherings, and used in teaching and other ministry settings. Online sharing or translation into other languages may also be undertaken where it serves the purpose of personal ministry, missionary outreach, or the edification of believers, and is done in a careful and respectful manner that honors the original message.
Our desire is that these messages remain freely given and not used for commercial gain, in keeping with the words of our Lord: Freely you have received; freely give (Matthew 10:8). It brings us great joy whenever these sermons are used to encourage believers, strengthen the Church, and lead many into a deeper devotion to Jesus Christ.
Guarding Against Commercial Use
While these materials are freely available for ministry purposes, they are not intended to be bought or sold for commercial gain.
The sermons and recordings hosted on SermonIndex represent the lives and ministries of many faithful servants of God. We desire to honor both their legacy and the sacred message they preached by ensuring these materials remain freely available to all.
For this reason, we ask that the materials not be packaged, sold, or used in commercial products or profit-driven ventures. Our hope is that the messages entrusted to us will always remain freely accessible to the Body of Christ, without financial barriers.
Our Prayer
May the Lord, in His mercy, use these sermons to awaken the hearts of many, to strengthen His Church in holiness, and to proclaim the glory of Jesus Christ throughout the earth. And if through these messages the gospel continues to pass from generation to generation, we give thanks to God, who has entrusted us with this solemn and sacred stewardship.

Augustine in the 4th century said: “The Gospel is not for sale. I do not sell the truth I teach.” and “Do not make a business out of the Word of God.”, What was freely given to the apostles ought to be freely given by their successors.

Cyprian of Carthage in the 3rd century said: “That which is freely given by God must not be sold, and the grace of the Lord must be administered without price.” and “He who traffics in the priesthood, and makes merchandise of the laying on of hands, is not a bishop but a blasphemer.”
