God lives and works today. His heart is a fatherly heart, which is filled with love for His children, and His arm is a mighty arm that can be moved through His children's prayers. Listen to the following meditation by Basilia Schlint called, Allowed to Pray, My Greatest Happiness.
A believer once said, Prayer is the greatest happiness of my life. And indeed it really is the greatest happiness and a great gift from God. It is a privilege to be allowed to pray.
How amazing that the Father in heaven would make such an offer to us sinners. Ask and it shall be given you. If a millionaire made us such an offer we'd probably think, Now we'll never be in want again.
What influence and power this man has. But now God is telling us, Ask, and I who have everything and can do everything will give it to you. What an opportunity.
Our God is Lord of heaven and earth. He is omnipotent. Therefore it does make a difference whether we pray or not.
The prayer of those whom God wills seal will bring the might of God to bear. Over 35 years ago, I had a traveling lecture ministry. I remember that during all the six years that I had this work, I only came across two towns where revival had broken out.
When I asked, Why is there such life here? In both places I received the same answer. Here people have prayed together for revival every day for years. Is your city or congregation lacking spiritual life? Are few drug addicts being saved and set free in your city? It may be your fault.
For through prayer you too have the power to move God's arm. Our Lord Jesus is standing before us in spirit saying, Come. It is my joy when you ask me to redeem you and others.
I want to make you free. Come. Ask and receive so that you may be happy.
I can't tell you how glad this knowledge has made me. When I have problems and don't know how to cope with them, I can tell my Father in heaven. My Father, this is so hard for me.
It's depressing me and I don't see any way out. Nevertheless, Father, I trust you. I know that you always have a way out.
I thank you that I can know right now that the help and solution will come. For you have promised us in Psalm 124, 8. Our help is in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth. Amen.
God's promises come true. Whatever He says, He'll do. My heart no doubt can hold about what He has taught.
I know your word is sure. It is a rock secure. What you say comes about.
Of that there is no doubt. Phoenix, Arizona 85028-4099. That's God Lives and Works Today, 9849 North 40th Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85028-4099.
God bless you.
