Do You Need Something

God lives and works today. The Bible says that He is abounding in steadfast love and mercy and that He rejoices in doing good to us. However, we will only experience His goodness to the extent that we are willing to trust in Him and believe His help.

It was a time of hunger and there were no food supplies to be bought. In answer to our prayers for potatoes, the Heavenly Father just sent us additional guests. One after another they would arrive and just in time for dinner.

The sister in charge of the kitchen was greatly distressed over the dwindling supplies, so I went with her into the cellar. It was clear to me that the only thing left for us to do was to pray and ask God's blessings upon the remaining potatoes. This we did.

And from that time on, the little mound of potatoes grew no smaller. It lasted and lasted until the new harvest. What a Father we have! They had to divide them and pass them out to the crowds. It was in giving away that the bread and fish were multiplied, and everyone ate his fill, including the disciples. So give, and you will receive.

But first of all, place everything that you have in God's hands, lovingly, trustingly, as the disciples once gave the loaves to Jesus. Then Jesus' hands will bless the little amount that you give him. It will be multiplied, and will last as long as it is necessary.
