Basilea Schlink encourages listeners to cultivate childlike trust in God, even in times of suffering and judgment, and to praise God through prayer and song.
Basilea Schlink emphasizes the importance of childlike trust in God, especially during times of sorrow and judgment. She encourages believers to praise God from the depths of their struggles, asserting that true worship comes from surrendering to Him even when circumstances are difficult. Schlink highlights that God delights in our trust and commitment, which can bring Him greater joy than songs sung in times of ease. By acknowledging our lack of understanding yet choosing to trust in God's goodness, we glorify Him and find comfort in His presence. Ultimately, she reminds us that our heartfelt trust and praise can bring peace and joy to both us and our Heavenly Father.

God lives and works today, but who can experience God's reality in the events of his daily life? The answer is simple. Listen to today's meditation by Basilia Schlink called Praise from the Depths. Nothing brings more joy to our Heavenly Father than our childlike trust.
And when we can understand his ways and leadings, that's the very moment when we can prove our trust. Many people reproach God whenever they come under his judgment. They demand their rights and stand before him with clenched fists to his great grief and sorrow.
However, from you and me, God expects a childlike trust whenever he chastens us. Perhaps in our sorrow and darkness of soul, we can't even manage to sing a song. And yet, now is the time to sing the song that will please the Father most of all.
The song of our commitment. To thee, Father, I surrender As my helper and advisor My whole self in all its need I will trust, though fears surround me And my cares pile up around me With no loophole for escape Yes, O Father, I can trust thee Who dost help and deal so justly Firmly plan with thy sure aid So I thank thee now already For thy promise sure and steady Cannot fail to come to pass These are words of love and trust to God. And they're worth more to him than all the songs that we might sing on a joyful day when things are going well.
When your troubles mount up so that you can't sleep at night, then say, My Father, I don't understand you, but I trust you. Your will is goodness and loving kindness. The ways you lead me on are good.
With such a prayer, you bring glory to God because you're making him a present of your trust. And in this way, you can bring him greater praise than at any other time. You will make his heart rejoice.
And at the same time, even with all of your problems and distress, you will be able to rest like a child in its father's lap. And you will be comforted by God the Father, who wipes away every tear from his children's eyes. I sing, I sing, God adoring My praise to heaven absolving I sing, I sing, God adoring May my sodomy give pleasure to thee I'll sing of God's will in sadness How his fulfillment brings gladness To those who obey and follow God's way I'll sing his praises forever His love to me ceases never For I am his child, his discipline is mine I'll sing of God's care and guiding The way of his own providing The path through the night with blessings upright This program by Basilea Schlenk has come to you from the Little Land of Canaan.
