God lives and works today. However, isn't it a sign of our times that people are so captivated by the countless voices of our world that they can't hear the voice of God anymore? Unless we listen to and obey His voice, we can't experience that He lives and works today. If you long to have this blocked line of communication opened again in your life, listen to today's meditation by Basilia Schlink called, Sources of Power.
What are the sounds of this century? The noise of planes in the air, in the streets the sounds of cars and motorcycles, radios and TV sets blaring from the windows. Behind all this noise is a definite plan and the prince of this world, Satan. He is trying to drown out God's voice amid all the other voices of our times so that people no longer hear it.
Yes, in this era of noise, Satan is waging a war against the Almighty. He's determined to drown out God's voice because he knows if people don't listen to God anymore, they won't obey Him. And so those of us who love God are being called to fight back against Satan by considering quiet of utmost importance.
We must eagerly seek out times to be quiet with the Lord so that we can listen to His voice and grow into a deeper relationship of love. Love seeks to have fellowship and to be united with its beloved. For this reason, Jesus is so eager for us to enter into the quiet, to give Him hours in which we are alone with Him, hours when everything in and around us becomes quiet.
At such times, Jesus will bind us to Himself in faith, filling us with His divine life and showering us with His love. And then a transformation can take place, which can't happen simply by going to one Bible study after another or by reading one book after another. For what we read and hear cannot influence our life unless it becomes our life.
And this life, which is life eternal, is born in a soul that is quiet before God. One of our spiritual guidelines by which we seek to live on our little land of Canaan says, God seeks your soul. He wants to speak with you.
He wants to manifest Himself to you. But He speaks only when all is silent in you and around you. So seek stillness and solitude.
It will give you the greatest blessing, communion with the living God. You have been listening to a program written by Basile Schlinck of the Little Land of Canaan. To learn more about how God lives and works today, visit us at our website, www.canaan.org. That's K-A-N-A-A-N dot org.
