Revival is on the Other Side of Your Door

Now I want to speak to you this evening about the revival that's on the other side of your door. Revival being on the other side of your door. Father, I just thank you, God, with all my heart for the touch of heaven tonight.

I thank you, Lord, for the hope that is felt in this sanctuary, and I believe in many people's homes online. I thank you, Lord Jesus Christ, that you are stretching out your hand to heal even now. As we sing, as the word of God is spoken, as we pray, Lord, you are reaching and touching and delivering God as you have been known to do.

As we sang tonight about do what you are famous for. Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you that as we read the gospels, we see clearly that signs and wonders were a part, a very necessary part of the message that you brought to this generation, God. And it will be just as equal a part of the message being brought to this final generation before you come to take us home.

So thank you, Lord Jesus Christ, for beginning to open prison doors, give sight to blinded eyes, heal bruised hearts, heal sickened bodies, setting free the oppressed, and letting the poor have the treasure of the incredible victory of the cross revealed to their hearts. God, thank you for what you're going to do this evening. Thank you for what you're beginning to do, Lord, where the gospel is preached in truth and in sincerity.

Lord, you are beginning to show yourself as the almighty God, everlasting God, the God who heals, the God who saves, the God who delivers, the God of victory. Lord, we thank you for it and we praise you in Jesus' mighty name. Amen and amen.

You know, we come to revival services and when we talk about revival, generally speaking, we're looking at something like this. God, make me happy where I am. Make me excited again about what used to excite me, but don't change the place that I am.

Leave me where I am. We're very much like Peter on the Mount of Transfiguration. We want to build a tent there.

We want to abide there. And when the excitement about being in that place begins to wane, it begins to go away, we want to get excited about it all over again. So we want to come into church and we want to get all fired up again about where we are realistically.

But what if I told you tonight that God wants to make you excited about somewhere where he wants to take us? Not where you are tonight, but where he wants to take you tomorrow and the day after that and the day after that. That, in my opinion, is genuine revival. It's not just making me excited about where I am, but, oh God, you've got something for me in the future.

And I want what you've got for my life in the future. I want that with all of my heart. Now this is what happened to one of the churches in Revelation, the church of Philadelphia in Revelation chapter 3, beginning at verse 7. And to the angel, the messenger of the church in Philadelphia, write, These things says he who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David.

In other words, I have the keys of kingship. May I put it that way? I have the power, in a sense, to open any door. I have the power to make decrees.

I have the power to change situations. It's the kingship power we're talking about here. He who opens and no one shuts and shuts and no one opens.

When God opens a door before you or before me, no one can shut that door. No one. The critics can try to shut that door.

The people who talk about your lack of abilities and faithfulness or whatever it is, even the devil himself can try to convince you that you can't go through that door. And he will do everything in his power to keep you from going through that door. Because he's seen people throughout history walk through the open door that God sets before them.

And he knows the destruction that can come to his kingdom. When one saint gets up, one person, one man, one woman, one Esther, one David, one Moses, hallelujah, innumerable people without names that we even know that are not recorded necessarily in the Bible or perhaps not even in history. But they got up and they went through their door.

And when they went through the door, miracles started to happen. The giftings of God began to be made known through their lives. The power of God began to be made known for the sake of other people that were out there.

Their names might not be known here, but they will be known in heaven. The people have made the choice to get up. He says in verse 8, I know your works.

See, I've set before you an open door and no one can shut it. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

Don't I know this? Oh my goodness. I was telling some young men today. I remember the day I was a police officer and I had absolutely no speaking ability whatsoever.

And I was shy. I didn't like being in a crowd of people. I didn't like going in a crowded room.

I didn't like being singled out. And I couldn't speak. I just couldn't.

Anybody here know that feeling? You know, if I called you up to, hey, why don't you come up and preach? You'd literally pass out on the way down the aisle. You know, you just know you can't do this. And I remember, you know, when God opens the door and you choose to go through it.

And I began to pray. I said, God, I want you to use my life for your glory. As a matter of fact, I was reading the scripture.

It talked about John the Baptist being used of God to lead many people out of darkness into the light and life of God in Christ. And I remember praying in a restaurant one morning. I said, God, I want my life to be this.

And then as I would walk the beat, I remember I was a young cop and I'm walking the beat. I have no speaking ability whatsoever. You can ask my wife.

She'll tell you, okay? She knows. She'll tell you even more than that. But please keep it at, just keep it to that for now.

And I began to pray a specific prayer. My prayer was, God, I want to win 100,000 people. Do you before I die? A hundred thousand.

Now I haven't even won a soul yet. Now I've told people about Jesus, but I don't think I've won any, but I've number came into my heart. I want to win a hundred thousand people to you before I die.

And then I began to be specific in my prayer. I want these people not to be people just to raise their hands in church somewhere, but actually walk with you. All the days of their lives.

And they end up at your throne and you can look them in the eye and say, well done, good and faithful servant. Now, if somebody would have heard me praying that out loud, walking the street, they think I'd lost my mind. Who does this guy think he is? But one day, one day on the police department, there was a thing happened in the city and they needed somebody to become the public face of the police department.

Radio, television, civic groups and stuff like that. And the chief said, get somebody who's morally clean out before the people. There was a reason for this and I can't go into it, but anyways, they came to me and I was called into a supervisor's office.

And he said, we need somebody to represent us. We need somebody to do radio, television, speak to civic groups. And then he asked me a question.

He said, are you afraid of public speaking? And I looked at him and I said, no. And as I said it, I'm thinking, what in heaven's name are you saying? You know that you can't speak. You know that you don't have any power to do this, but it was an open door.

God was open. He was answering my prayer. And he almost like, I felt like I was kicked through the door.

And I didn't just walk through it. I was kicked through the door. And as I'm saying no, you know, something inside is trying to grab that word and say, I made a mistake.

I'm sorry. I made a mistake. And so they sent me off to police college to learn how to speak publicly.

It was a course. I forget how long it was, two, three weeks, whatever it was. And you went in and you had to do a one-minute presentation, a three-minute, a five-minute, a 10-minute, a 12-minute, a 15-minute, a 30-minute.

So you'd be trained one day. Then you'd have to do a presentation, trained presentation. Everybody there is a seasoned speaker.

They're all high level in the police world from right across the country. They all do this for a living. And they're just there to hone their skills.

That's all. I'm the only guy who's never spoken anywhere. One time, actually, I was asked to give my testimony to about a dozen people.

And while they were introducing me, I was dry heaving in the bathroom. That's a fact. I was not a candidate for this, to win 100,000 people to Christ.

But here you go, through the open door that he set before me. And every night, all these guys and girls, they're all down playing shuffleboard. They're in the bar.

They're wherever they're doing in this police college. And I'm in my room and my face is down. I remember the carpet to this day.

It was kind of pink looking thing. And I had my face on it like this. Oh, God, I can't do this.

What have I got myself into? They're going to know I'm a total fraud. It's like if you got drafted to the NBA, for example, and you're sitting on the bench with all these wonderful LeBron Jameses sitting beside you. Oh, God, they're going to put me out on the court and they're going to find out I'm a total fraud.

I don't even know how to bounce a ball, let alone play basketball. I'm going to be completely exposed. And that's the way I felt.

And I had my face down on the carpet. Oh, God, I can't do this. I don't know how I got myself into this.

They're going to ask me to do a presentation. And I don't know what I'm going to do. I remember the first time I got up.

And my topic was the coming fall of America. America is going the way of the Roman Empire. Everybody was shocked because it's supposed to be a police topic.

And I'm talking about the coming fall of America. And as I began to speak the anointing of God, I knew the words I was speaking were not coming from me. If any man thirst, let him come to me and drink.

And he who believes on me, as the Scripture has said, out of his inward parts will flow a river of living water. And I began to speak, and I knew the voice coming from me was sovereign, was supernatural, was God. And the same thing happened for the next presentations, the 3-minute, the 5-minute, the 10-minute, the 12-minute, the 15-minute.

And every time I spoke, I preached a topic from the Bible because it was the only way the anointing. There's no other anointing any other way. And then finally they called me in at the end of the course.

And they said, you know, Carter, you're a nice guy. We like you and all this stuff. But for your 30-minute presentation, you're going to have to speak on a police topic.

This is a police college. This is not an evangelistic association, they told me. They said, you have to speak on a police topic.

And if you don't, you're not going to pass the course. And so I went back to my room. And guess where I was that night? I was down.

Oh, God. Oh, God. I mean, I just, I can't fathom, you know, like clues in a crime scene.

It just is not quite the same as open to the Gospel of John. You know what I mean? It's different. And so I prayed.

I said, God, help me. Please, Jesus, help me. I don't know how to do this.

I prayed that every night. Even, it's amazing, isn't it? Even when he's proven faithful the day before, we're still back praying the same prayer again. You know, how many times does God have to show him faithful before we will go through the door and believe him for what he's called our lives to be? And so the last day I got up and I said, gentlemen, I said, I want to preach to you.

I want to speak to you, not preach. I want to speak to you today on a police topic, the Bible. And everybody looked at me.

I said, because when we get in a court of law and we put our right hand on the book and we say, I swear that the evidence I'm about to give is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. So help me, God. And we swear based on the content of this book.

I said, don't you think it's important for you and I to know what we're actually swearing to? What is it? What is it we're saying that we believe? And I started a Genesis and I went through the revelation. I started in the garden with the snake and I finished at the right hand of God, saying he's king of kings and lord of lords. And he's coming again to rule and reign on the earth.

Thank you for hearing my 30 minute presentation. And when I was done, they're supposed to critique me. And every man in that room, not one person critiqued me.

They're supposed to critique your voice, intonation, your gestures, your eye contact, your everything, you know. And they didn't critique me. Everyone in that room said, wow, I've never heard anything like that in my whole life.

If that's what I'm swearing to, one guy said, I really got to think about this. You know, like this is amazing. Nobody.

And at the end of the course, I was called in and the supervisor said, we're going to contact your department if you're willing. And we want to ask them if they'd be willing to release you for a season so you could become one of the instructors in this police college. I sat before you, he said, an open door.

No man can close it. Not even your own heart. For you have a little strength.

And you've kept my word. And you've not denied my name. Most often when he calls us, we're not at our strongest point.

He calls us when we are keenly aware of times of our own limitations. He doesn't necessarily call us when we're strong or mighty or noble. He calls us when we're weak.

We consider ourselves foolish. We despise sometimes what we are. And we think in our hearts nobody would want to be like I am.

But it's at this point he calls us into something that is of himself and not of us. See, that's really the key of genuine revival. It's not me doing something for God.

It's God doing something through me that brings his own name to reputation. I'm only the vessel. You're only the vessel.

We are not called to produce something for his kingdom. We're called to yield to him and let him produce in us and through us what he desires to so that his name would be brought to glory. You see, this church of Philadelphia had an open door that no one can shut.

They only had a little bit of strength. They kept his word and not denied his name. How many does that represent here tonight? Online and here.

You have only a little strength and you're aware you only have a little strength. The only testimony you have right now is that as best as you know how, you've kept the word of God and you have not denied that Jesus Christ is your Lord. It's really that simple.

You haven't done a whole lot more than that, but the interesting thing is it's at this point that God sets an open door. Now, you don't have to find this door. He sets it there.

It comes down out of the rafters of heaven and suddenly it's just there. What's my part when God sets before me an open door? Go through it. Go through it by faith.

You think about the people of Israel who came to their borders of promise and you talk about an open door. They had been brought out of captivity. They had been fed sovereignly.

They were led by a pillar of fire by night and a pillar of a cloud by day. They saw miracles. They saw God's power.

They saw the judgment against their enemies and then they came to the border of a place where they were to go in for the sole purpose of bringing glory to God on the earth, of being the people that are called the people of God, of being set apart from the rest of the world, of people to be wondered at. And they were called to go in to this place that was occupied by other things and other people that had no right to be there. And they stood and they wavered before the open door.

And all it took is just somebody to come back and say, Oh, it can't be done. When you start following Jesus Christ and he starts leading you through these doors where your life is going to bring glory to his name, there will be no shortage of people trying to tell you you can't do this, that it can't be done. Others have tried it.

I remember the time that I came out of an evangelist's office in Canada and he told me, he said, Were you trying to plant a church in this area of about a hundred square, or 40 square miles, I think it was, this area that hadn't had a Christian testimony that we knew of, probably in a hundred years, this area of incredible poverty, the highest per capita poverty area of the whole province that we lived in. And I remember he said, Others have tried and they failed. And then he looked at me and said, Your work won't prosper.

You can try to raise up a church, but it won't prosper. You won't be successful. He said, Because others have tried and they failed.

We've put good speakers there, we've put money behind it, and nothing has been successful. He said these words to me, It won't grow, but you will grow. I remember leaving his office, I got in my car, and I out loud said these words, I don't believe that man.

I don't believe that man. I went home and prayed and I said, God, somebody is saying there's an area of the country you can't break into. Somebody is saying there's something you can't do.

They put money and personality behind it, and nothing has been successful. But this, in my opinion, is dishonoring to you. That anybody should say anywhere in this world there's something you can't do.

And so God, I'm asking you to establish a church in this area. And I'm thinking, you know, bring somebody in. It never occurred to us that a housewife, a cop, and a bus driver were going to be the three people he was going to use.

We're like the three lepers coming down into the camp of the Syrians, for real. But when we left, just a few years later, there were three churches, there was a food bank feeding 238 families, there was a two-story Christian school. There was no debt.

You have a little strength. You've kept my word. You've not denied my name.

Indeed, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say they're Jews and are not, but lie. I'll make them come and worship before your feet to know I have loved you. God's saying to the Church of Philadelphia, those who have settled for religion instead of relationship, those who have settled for the love of truth instead of the love of where the truth is supposed to take them, those who have settled into a very powerless, non-Christ-honoring state of religion, I will do something in you that will cause them to bend their knee before God.

They will have to know, they'll acknowledge that I have loved you. Because you've kept my command to persevere, I'll keep you from the hour of trial, which will come upon the whole world to test those who dwell upon the earth. In other words, I'm going to give you a peace that passes all of understanding.

When you learn to trust me, God says, when you learn that I will be God to you, I'll be God on the mountain. I'll be God in the valley. I'll be God in the flood.

I'll be God in the fire. I'll be God when there's plenty. I'll be God when there's almost nothing.

I'll be God when you understand. I'll be God when you don't. I will be God to you, and you will come to learn that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to his purpose.

There will be a peace in your heart. As David the king once said, though the mountains shake, though the seas roar, though the mountains fall into the midst of the sea, I will not be afraid. My heart is fixed.

I've learned to trust in God. Hallelujah to the Lamb of God. I think in this last day, as all hell begins to break out in this world, there's going to be a people like you and I that are going to walk through the midst of the flood, the fire.

We're going to have a song. We're going to have a testimony. Everything that has placed its trust in things other than a living relationship with God will bow its knee before God because they will see a strength in God's people, in you and I, that's not available by any amount of human effort in this world.

It comes from God. It comes from the presence of the Holy Spirit. It comes to those who have made choices in advance to go through the door that God sets before us.

Yes, I want to be revived, but I want to be revived on the other side of this door before me. I don't want to just feel good about where I am right now. I want to go where you want me to go, God, because there's something on the other side of this door that is so far beyond me and it will bring honor and glory to your name.

By the way, fast forward many years from the day I was walking the beat as a cop and I was in Nigeria in a place of civil war and there was about a half a million people that came out for the services every night and I remember the first night I preached on the bankruptcy of all religion that has no compassion for its neighbor, both Christianity and Islam, and at the end gave an opportunity for people to receive Christ as Lord and Savior. And the estimates are that about 100,000 people raised their hands to receive Christ that night as Lord and Savior. I went back to my room and I realized that God had answered in one night, God had answered an impossible prayer from years ago.

And I was about to get down on my knees beside my bed and just give God thanks for just a miracle because I remembered, God, I remembered I prayed this prayer years ago and he had done far above and beyond the greatest expectations I could have ever had. And as I got down on my knees, you know what the Lord spoke to me? He said, Carter, don't limit me. Don't limit me.

Don't limit what I can do. Don't limit the scope of my power. Don't limit my mercy.

Don't limit. Whatever I've called you to do will be done. Whatever door I set you through, there'll be victory on the other side of that door and I'll keep you from the hour of trial.

I can honestly tell you no matter what breaks out in this world, I am not afraid. There's a peace in my heart. I have seen the power of God.

I have walked with God. I have known the keeping power of God. I've seen the faithfulness of God and I have a vision of heaven before me.

I know this world is going to devolve. I know it's going to spin out. I know there's going to be wars and disease and famine.

So none of this will take me by surprise because I've seen it in the word of God, but I haven't just seen the calamities. I've seen the keeping power of God. I've seen the hand that holds me and holds you.

Jesus Christ himself said, you're in my Father's hand and nobody can take you out of my Father's hand. I've seen the comfort of God. I've seen the power of God.

I've seen the faithfulness of God. Behold, I'm coming quickly. He says, hold fast that no one takes your crown.

I've set before you an open door. Don't let anybody stop you from going through it. Don't let anybody take your crown.

Don't let anybody take your victory. If somebody just wants to sit on the side of the road and read history books about the past, let them. Don't sit with them.

Keep going in God. There's something ahead of us, folks. I think you know it in your heart already.

I think if you're seeking God, you're feeling it. There's something ahead of us, bigger, more powerful, more wonderful than we could even have ever imagined that God's about to do in this generation. And he who overcomes, this is a promise in verse 12, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God and he shall go out no more.

I love that. No more hot and cold in the house of God. No more getting on fire Sunday and burning out by Wednesday.

Do you understand? Coming back on Friday to get on fire and burning out by Monday. No more. Those who go through the door, he says, here's what I'm going to do for you.

I'm going to make you a pillar in the house of God. You're going to stand. You're going to be firm.

You're not going to run hot and cold in your walk with God any longer. You're going to be steadfast. You're going to be firm.

No more walking down with your head looking for pennies on the sidewalk. Do you understand? You're going to be looking up the whole time. There's going to be a confidence in God.

You're going to have a heart so filled with God, so filled with wonderment of who he is and what he's going to do in the future that you're no longer running hot and cold in your walk with him. And I'll write on him the name of my God and of the city of my God. Hallelujah.

Hallelujah. I don't know the fullness of that, but I know God says, I'm going to inscribe my name on you. When people are going to meet you, they're going to say, only God could be doing what's happening in you.

I see something in your countenance. I see something in your eyes. I hear something in your voice.

God says, I'm going to write my name on you. Let him do that the way he chooses to do that. I'm going to write on you the name of the city of my God, New Jerusalem.

It speaks to me about a hope and a faith that's unshakable. Eyes that see the future. This New Jerusalem, this place that's coming down, where we will dwell forever with Christ, where there's going to be ruling and reigning with God.

It speaks of the faithfulness of God, this unshakable hope that we're going to have in the goodness of our God. And I will write on him my new name. I don't know exactly what that name is.

I don't know if there's room on my forehead to write that name. The new name of Christ will be written on you. I was thinking today, what is the new name? More than conqueror, victorious one.

All authority and power is in subjection to him. Eternal and movable, filled with power, alive forevermore. I don't know what it is.

I don't know. But I'm going to write on him my new name. The testimony of God will be written on you and through you.

That's what it says to me. Now, it might be a simplistic interpretation, but that's the way I see it. God says, I'm going to write on you something that only the hand of God could.

It's something of my character. It's something of my name. It's something of my victory.

It's something of the hope that I give. I'm going to write it upon you. And as the apostle Peter said, be ready to give an answer for people that ask you now for a reason for the hope that is in you.

There's a day coming, folks, where people are going to say, why are you smiling? Don't you read the paper? Haven't you seen the news? Don't you know that we've got nutcases all over the world with their finger on nuclear weapons? Why are you smiling? Hallelujah. Be ready to give an answer because they're going to ask. Because I have confidence in God.

I have hope for the future. I have an eternal city coming down from heaven, the new Jerusalem. I'm going to rule and reign with Christ forever.

This is just the beginning of eternity. Hallelujah to the Lamb of God. He has changed me.

He has transformed me. He has saved me. He has given me power.

He has given me victory. He has given me a new song to sing. He's given me new hope for my children and for my grandchildren.

He's given me new confidence in my prayers. He's given me new passion for the lost. He's given me new words to speak to those who live outside of truth.

He's given me every day a new heart, an enlarged heart, a bigger heart, a better heart than I had yesterday. He's taking me farther than I went yesterday. He's giving me more than I had then.

He's taking me farther than I could ever go. He's giving me strength in old age. He's given me a promise that even as I grow old, I will still bear fruit in old age to prove that there's no unrighteousness in God.

Hallelujah to the Lamb of God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

Hallelujah to the Lamb of God. And now the doors are opening to Ivy League colleges around the country. And I'm going to go in through those gates.

I'm going to go in those doors that God has opened and no man can close. How do I know I'll have something to get there? Because one time I laid on the carpet with my face and said, God only you can do this. And God did it.

Hallelujah to the Lamb of God. And what God did then, He will do again in the future. Oh yes, I'm going through every door.

Glory to God. And I don't care if 15 years from now if I've got to go through with a cane in each hand, I'm going through each door. I'm going in God.

And you are too online. It's time for you to get up. It's time for you to trust God.

It's time for you to go through your open door. God has set before you an open door. You with little strength.

You have just all you have as a testimony. As best as I can, I've tried to keep God's word. And even when I fail, I've gone back and tried to keep it again.

And I've not denied the name of Jesus. That's all I've got. And the Lord says, I set before you an open door.

Not by might, not by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord. And if you'll go through that door, hallelujah, to the Lamb of God, I'll give you confidence. I'll give you stability.

I'll give you new countenance. I'll give you a new name. I'll give you a new future.

I'll give you new giftings. I'll give you everything you need to bring the name of Jesus Christ to glory on the earth. You see, revival is on the other side of your door, folks.

Revival. I don't want to be happy just where I am. I want to be happy where I'm going to be.

Hallelujah. I was in a church one time in Western Canada. And they used to call me because they called me a revivalist, and I would come in to kind of stir up churches that were dying and had lost their purpose.

And I went in this one church and they had a magnificent gymnasium, a beautiful facility, a magnificent gymnasium, cafeteria, the whole thing. And I would go out jogging during the day and then I'd meet with the leaders and I'd say, well, I saw here in your town there's a lot of kids out in the streets and they look like they're really hurt. And why don't you open up your gym on one of the nights of the week and bring these kids in and maybe play basketball and stuff and then just have a. . . And they said, no, no, they'll wreck our gym.

They'll wreck our gym. I said, well, I saw some hungry people out there in your community and you have a whole cafeteria here. Have you ever thought of feeding the hungry in your community? You say you want revival.

And they said, no, we tried that once. And they're not even grateful. I got up on Sunday.

It's the only time it's ever happened to me. I got up on Sunday to preach. I got about a third of the way through my message and I closed the Bible.

I said, folks, I can't preach in your church. I'm sorry, I can't. I said, you don't want revival.

I don't know why you've invited me here. You're just looking to be happy in your lukewarm place. You don't want any change.

You don't want to reach the lost. You don't want to take a chance on anything. You just want to be happy where you are.

And I said, I'm just the wrong man for your pulpit. I'm sorry. And I left.

Now, I might be more gracious today. I was younger then. But I just couldn't.

I couldn't bring myself to preach in that church because they want revival to them was just being happy where we are. Just make us happy, God. Make us happy.

You've heard it before. I preach. He's going to preach us happy tonight.

But they didn't want anything of God. They didn't want to go through any open door. They would rather have the children die in the streets and then have their gym nice and pristine.

They'd rather have people hungry than the effort of just preparing something to feed people. There was a lot of hungry people in that community. And then they were saying, revive us.

What a joke. Revive us. No, no.

Revival is on the other side of the door. I set before you an open door. And God really had set an open door before them, but they wouldn't go through.

But may it never be your testimony and mine. I'm going through. Whatever door God sets before me, I'm going through that door.

Because he's never failed me. Not one time in my life has he failed me. Not one time have I gone through a door to find that I was all alone on the other side.

And every time I've gone through, miracles have happened. Whether it's preaching to Muslims, whether it's in prisons, whether it's in revolts, or whether it's in countries at civil war. Whatever it was, whenever I went through the door, God was there.

And so I want to challenge you. The potential here to bring glory to God is astronomical. Because he sets an open door before each one of us.

And your door might be different than mine. Sometimes it's a collective door for a congregation. But most times it's an individual door before each one of us.

To take us into something or somewhere or something of him that we cannot do in our own strength. We can't do it in our own strength. Only God can do it.

Praise God. I want to give an altar call tonight. I want to give an altar call for people online.

Now let me explain an altar call if you don't know what that is. An altar call is a forward motion. That you make a physical forward motion which is just a sign.

It's me. I'm sitting here. And I kind of get up and I walk to here.

And that's maybe all you can do in your living room. Maybe you can just get off your couch and move a few steps forward. But you're saying I agree with what I'm hearing.

And I'm symbolically getting up and I'm going through the door that God is setting before me. You may not know what the door is. And you don't even know where it's leading to.

But you sense in your heart that God is wanting to take me to another place other than where I am. And it's in that place that I will be revived. It's in that place that my heart will explode with faith.

It's in that place that I'll get to know the keeping and sustaining power of God. And so tonight at home some of you are just going to get up. And maybe you're in your car.

You can by faith just raise your hand. Maybe you're on a park bench. By faith you could stand up.

Whatever it is. But if you're in a hospital bed, if you can just raise your hand a little bit, that's your altar call. And you're saying, God, I'll go through the door.

Monica was in Washington and she heard Sarah Beth's testimony from this church about how God raised her out of a wheelchair. And Monica said, God, if you can do that for Sarah Beth, you can do that for me. And now Monica is planning to run a marathon.

Out of a bed of sickness where she had to be helped to even sit up to be able to watch this prayer meeting. God set before her an open door. Praise be to God.

And the open door is going to become a testimony in the future that, you mark my words, is going to be a powerful story that the Lord writes through her life. And so we're going to stand here in the sanctuary. And I'm going to encourage you to stand at home too as well.

And I want to give an altar call tonight. An altar call is what I said it was. It's a moving forward.

And it's you and me saying, God, you set a door before me. I'll go through it. Would you come just in the sanctuary, wherever you are? God, you set a door before me.
