Welcome again today to Devotions from My Kitchen. And it's such a privilege to be able to come to you this way. And I'm really personally very, very thankful for the technology that allows us to get together and to stay connected and to just encourage one another. And certainly today, these are days where both you and I need encouragement. You know, none of us can do this alone. Thank God we have each other. Thank God for the body of Christ. Thank God for the encouraging words that we can speak to each other. So I want to encourage you today, if you're locked at home with your family, your husband, your wife, your friends, your brother, your sister, whatever the situation is, your kids, practice speaking words that are uplifting. Practice, as the apostle Paul once said, you know, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of virtue, if they're praiseworthy, if they're of good rapport, think on these things. And the promise, of course, is that the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. So let's not let anything of fear and negativity get a hold of our minds and take away our testimony. We are, of all people, to be a people of confidence because we have Jesus Christ, the Son of God, with us in the center of whatever storm it might be that you are facing today. If it's a situation where you're afraid of losing your employment or perhaps the news is making you afraid, I want to really encourage you today. You spend more time in the Word of God than you are spending watching the news and the media today because if that's all you're listening to, it can take away your confidence. It can take away your heart and that which God would give you, the strength He would you for the future. Let me just share with you the words of Jesus in the Gospel of John, chapter 8, verse 31 and 32. Then Jesus said to those disciples who believed in Him, If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. If you abide, it's not just the knowledge of truth from the Word of God, but it's the abiding. It's the embracing. It's the heart that says, Jesus, let your word live in me. Let your word establish my thoughts. Let your word establish the pathway of my feet as well as my thinking. And you said, if I would make your word the center of my consciousness, this truth that I embrace, not just knowledge-wise, but I embrace it in my heart, would actually set me free. That's why I can sit here today and tell you I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid because I've been set free by the Word of God from all of the storms and the waves and the fears and the frustrations of this life. They have no part in my heart anymore. And if they even try to get in there, the Word of God has the power to push them back out again. Remember the promise, you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Let freedom be your testimony today. Stay encouraged. Stay in the Word of God. Stay in prayer. I love you so much. See you again, not too long from now.
