The sermon explores Nicodemus' encounter with Jesus, emphasizing the necessity of spiritual rebirth and the love of God for salvation.
In this sermon, the speaker emphasizes the importance of understanding the gospel by listening to and meeting people where they are at. He uses the example of Nicodemus, a master teacher of Israel, who Jesus engages in conversation about being born again. Jesus meets Nicodemus on his own ground and explains the concept of the new birth. The speaker highlights the significance of the new birth and suggests that if someone cannot explain it, their own new birth may be questionable.

I'm going to read you a few verses out of Numbers and then slip over to John starting in Numbers 21 7 therefore the people came to Moses and said we have sinned for we have spoken against the Lord and against thee pray unto the Lord that he take away the serpents from us and Moses prayed for the people and the Lord said unto Moses make thee a fiery serpent and Set it upon a pole and it shall come to pass that everyone that is bitten when he looketh upon it shall live Moses made a serpent of brass and put it upon a pole and it came to pass that if a serpent had bitten any man when He beheld the serpent of brass he lived now John chapter 3 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus a ruler of the Jews The same came to Jesus by night and said unto him rabbi We know that thou art a teacher come from God for no man can do these miracles that thou doest except God be with him Jesus answered and said unto him verily verily. I say unto thee except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God and Nicodemus saith unto him How can a man be born when he is old can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born? Jesus answered verily verily I say unto thee except a man be born of water and of the Spirit He cannot enter into the kingdom of God that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit Marvel not that I said unto thee you must be born again the wind bloweth where it listeth and thou hear'st the sound thereof but canst not tell whence it cometh and Whither it goeth so is everyone that is born of the Spirit Nicodemus answered and said unto him. How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him art thou a master of Israel and knowest not these things Verily verily.
I say unto thee we speak that we do know and Testify that we have seen and you receive not our witness if I have told you earthly things and you believe not How shall you believe if I tell you of heavenly things and no man hath ascended up to heaven? But he that came down from heaven even the Son of Man Which is in heaven and as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness even so must the Son of Man be lifted up That whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world But that the world through him might be saved he that believeth on him is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God and This is the condemnation that light has come into the world and men love darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light neither cometh to the light lest his deeds should be reproved But he that doeth truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be made manifest that they are wrought in God Let's pray Father we thank you now for this morning We thank you for your word and we ask that the Holy Spirit would open up and illumine our minds our hearts to understand Your word we pray for any that might be here today with us or listening that do not know Jesus as their Savior that they would repent of their their Wickedness and their sin and refusing to receive Christ that they might be saved that they might have eternal life we pray for your spirit to do the convicting and do the prodding and working and Teach us the lessons that we need to learn this morning from this passage in Jesus name. Amen I've titled this message Nicodemus a man under the cross Now if you haven't noticed I've got This pole over here with this cross piece on it and it's supposed to hold up our snake I our original snake wouldn't cooperate and show up So we got a substitute snake to fill in but I imagine it might have been something like this That The Hebrews looked upon as Moses stuck this snake up on a pole. Let's get him around.
So his head is Sort of the right way You see his eyeballs Ain't too bad. Is it the other one just wouldn't cooperate? So this is gonna have to do but he's not too bad. So Moses made this Brass snake and put them up on the pole and If they would look after Israel rebelled against the Lord if they would look They would live and there's a lot of interesting lessons in this matter of fact this whole passage, you know, you don't think about John 3 16 this is The Old Testament Type and John 3 16 you go back where whether where'd that come from? It came from the pole and the brass snake and And this is what Jesus took Nicodemus to this was his word picture for Nicodemus in his mind now I have a Main statement I'd like to make to you before we get into this And the way we're going to do this this morning I'm gonna give you some historical background and then we're going to do some hits some lessons on it But here's a main statement and you can put this however you want it But every person that we meet holds within their own heart the key That will unlock the door of understanding the gospel.
Our job is to listen to them Meet them where they're at Listen to what they're saying And this is why God gives us different people that we can reach But they in their conversation will say something and I many times when I realized God's wanting me to talk to somebody I will listen for the open door there'll be something that they'll say and Jesus gives us the a great lesson really on his interview with Nicodemus now Here's the background the historical background. We went through the cleansing of the temple last week, which fit in very well with the baby dedication Just fit right in there because after Christ cleansed the temple then the little kids could come in and they came in praising him as the Messiah really got the big hot dogs upset that they were in there praising him as the Messiah and the parents recognized that Children could go to Jesus now Jesus had just mentioned about milk faith You know you have meat faith But he's just been talking about those that have milk faith in Chapter 2 in verse 22 and they believe the scriptures and the word which Jesus had said now You come on down to 24, but Jesus did not commit himself unto them because he knew all men He knew those that just had milk faith just had weak. It was even it was not even a Whole milk wasn't even 2% it didn't have 1% you ever drink some milk.
That's just 1% milk Just a little water with some flavor in it. I Accidentally put some on my cereal. I was at a motel Last weekend and we had that breakfast and accidentally poured that on my cereal Milk faith doesn't give much substance now The here's the setting he knew them and he knew Nicodemus so here comes Nicodemus He probably came at night not because he was so Much, maybe a chicken or whatever I believe he brought some others with him some other leaders came with him because of the way Jesus is talking You'll go through there in the tenses that when he says ye Talking to Nicodemus, so he may have had some others there But the historical background at this time is basically this the Feast of the Passover began on the 15th of Nisan and The 14th there was the slaying of the Paschal lamb you go back to the 13th The evening began by the searching out of the leaven you had the cleansing and they had this they had all this Worked out.
Well, here comes Christ on the scene and we're cleaning out leaven. Let's clean out the leaven in the temple area And that's where the background so after that Nicodemus came to Jesus see Nick Jesus and made a scene turned over the changers tables and everything Nicodemus is watching and listening as People will be watching and listening to us. So he comes to Jesus probably slipped up onto the roof If we could just visualize a little bit It was a spring evening The spring breezes would blow in which may have been one of the things that might have happened when he talked about the spirit Coming like the wind and here's Nicodemus maybe sitting up on the roof with Christ Maybe it was out in the yard But that was a thing that a lot of them did they got up on the roofs and the evenings and they could visit up there now Jesus Could possibly have cleansed that temple on the evening of the 14th We don't know for sure but here's Nicodemus now there was something mentioned in the Talmud about a Nicodemus of That day that was one of the richest men in the area He was a very distinguished citizen of Jerusalem I Tend to believe it was probably the same Nicodemus because Many of these rulers because of their setup they had pretty great income As We mentioned last week they had things set up and so there was a lot of money that could be found in the in the business Now the Pharisees he was a Pharisee of the Sanhedrin he was probably very cautious He was a man of years an elder up in the years, and he was very cautious but I believe he was searching he was also very empty and It doesn't do us very very much good if we're in a church and we have a pastor that's an empty pastor If we have a leaders in our church that do not know the Lord themselves But Jesus is going to give us a great lesson on how to meet people where they're at Whether he came under curiosity or conviction I don't know But he came the scripture says there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus a ruler of the Jews the same Came to Jesus by night Instead of him rabbi.
We know that thou did teacher and Maybe he came by night because he didn't want to be seen maybe he came by night because it was a convenient and quiet time And the crowds went around and he would like to talk to Jesus. He would like to have a talk now That's just not any little thing either because to talk to a Galilean One of his statue and one of his means and importance to talk to a Galilean, you know They were on the low end of the scale you couldn't get any lower except be a Samaritan and Then you were out of the realm, you know, but but the Galileans they were the least of the least Can any good thing come out of Nazareth, you know, but then not only that but he was untrained and to come to an untrained One they called him rabbi they called Jesus rabbi but to kill the one that was untrained that didn't go through through their systems have their degrees and everything and to come to him and ask him of spiritual things I Would say Nicodemus was serious when you now that's a little bit of the historical background Jesus the whole time that he talked with Nicodemus He sought to draw him Out and up When we have those encounters with people However, God gives us our opportunities and whatever means whatever as the Spirit of God works with us. He will continually Use us to seek to draw them out of where they're at and up to Jesus now Nicodemus wants to know about this kingdom.
He says in his mind Jesus knew he was there and This is why he he answered Jesus can answer the questions before they are asked That's the thing about the Lord. He does that with us to Jesus answered and said unto him Verily verily I say unto you to thee except a man be born again. He cannot see the kingdom of God Now Nicodemus had started out by saying this we know that thou art a teacher in verse 2 come from God Now that was quite a confession right there, wasn't it? For no man can do these miracles that thou doest except God be with him and then Jesus comes back with the answer except a Man be born again.
He cannot see the kingdom of God now The reason Christ probably started there with Nicodemus was that he knew that his view of the kingdom was all wrong he had the world of view of the kingdom of Christ coming in and setting up the throne of David and ruling and they were going to get to work right there with him and be as right here's the king and He just had it all wrong. And so he starts there. He carefully, but he very firmly He doesn't put him down is so much you dummy don't you know things like this, but he does point out the fact to him that he has things wrong and He just knows how far that Nicodemus will go The flesh kingdom is the rule of man and that was where Nicodemus was thinking and Jesus is going to take him to the spiritual Kingdom, which is the rule of God.
God was not ruling in their kingdom God was not ruling in the kingdom of the Jews. This is why Christ had came He came into his own and his own received him not but he came To get back under the rule so Jesus said you must be born again a man must be in order to enter you must be and This is the thing that's a lot of people have trouble with realizing that they must be born Again, spiritually must have a new birth in order to be saved in order to go to heaven now Nicodemus comes back in verse 4 and said unto him how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time in his mother's womb and be born? Now when Jesus goes down through here I want you to notice Jesus is talking about something that those that has spiritual minds and spiritual hearts understood But this man was in the dark But yet he was a real leader of the Jews any of those that had spiritual understanding Understood the concept of the new birth as it was taught in the Old Testament It was not something that was hid it was there and it was prevalent It was out in the open those that had spiritual understanding and light understood the new birth Nicodemus was in the dark, you know, we're going to go back into our mother's womb He just was in the dark. So don't assume just because somebody has a big fancy religious degree that they have spiritual light.
I remember one time talking to a man that was probably in the most prominent church in the town that I was in and I was in the one that was just a We were not considered a social type church There's a night we had a nice building and we had nice people that came but we were not Considered and this man of this church. That was one of the big social churches in town When a buddy and I went in and talked to him one day about the Lord. He didn't even have any concept of who Jesus was No concept.
He said who is Jesus? Anyway, is he a door? Is he what it he had? He just wasn't there but yet he was one of the prominent men in town. I Still would like to talk to him again someday now How he wanted to know the how of these things before he believed him This is one of the hang-ups Well fight why many people will not get saved because they just don't understand it all we just have to believe it Then we'll understand Now Jesus took him to the serpent and we got our friendly snake up here on the pole He's not going to bother anybody this morning, but this is where Jesus is taking Nicodemus He's taking him back to something He understood to bring him into the light and when you talk with people and when I talk to people our business will be to Meet them where they're at Take what they have their language their setting their their position and take them and Help them to see the light and this is what Jesus is going to do. The serpent is the symbol of death and New life on that pole when Israel looked they looked at that serpent The serpent had got them in trouble in the beginning got us into trouble, didn't he? Listening to a snake look into a snake So it's interesting that God and when we come back to our lessons We'll look at the lessons on this But the serpent was a symbol of death and also of new life if they refuse they're out there Crawling around in pain because this fiery servant has bit them and they said I'm not gonna look up on a pole at a brass snake Call the doctor.
Where's my doctor? I Need a doctor and God had said if they will look they will live Actually, the concept is believing If they'll look in belief Then they'll live now This is the thing that finally brought Nicodemus to see the light a look of faith. I believe Because Jesus took him through here and we're gonna go through here But Jesus when he died on the cross, I believe when Nicodemus looked up He saw and he understood then because Jesus three times. I think it was he said if I be lifted up If I be lifted up and that was the concept that he taught Nicodemus Lifted up when I be lifted up now as Moses lifted up matter of fact if you look at I Think it was that if we get on the head in verse 14 as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness Even so must the Son of Man be lifted up that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life and there are three Three Times Nicodemus was mentioned.
He came to Jesus the second time in John 7 15 51 he is defending Jesus then the next thing you see him doing bringing the spices the myrrh and everything for his barrel a hundred pounds worth He had believed somewhere between the defending of Jesus and John chapter 7 and the bringing of those and I believe was at the cross when he was Crucified and he looked up because Jesus Jesus had said if I be lifted up I will draw all men and he'd drawn him and so this why he said the Son of Man must be lifted up now the traditional view of this in the Old Testament The traditional view they were doctrinally straight in the Old Testament when Moses had told him what to do Look to God for mercy they were to look to God for mercy they had it right and They're the true view was though They they would receive mercy, but they did not understand the love of God displayed on that pole with that snake God can take the same thing that got you into trouble and bring you into light. He's taken the snake they got us into trouble in the Garden of Eden and using that to bring them to light and when They just didn't understand the concept of the love of God and isn't it interesting that Jesus took Nick Nicodemus right into the love of God right after he said The Son of Man must be lifted up that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life for God so loved the world that he gave and Jesus was a type He was a type for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him Should not perish but have everlasting life If you perish and go to hell it was because you would not believe and that's the only way we'll be saved It's just believe the gospel. That was the gospel the gospel in the desert out there When that thing was put up on that pole so The dead shall live again those people were already dead bitten by the snake they were already dead But if they refused to look They would die for sure They were just as good as dead because of that snake.
It was deadly Look and live so to look will result in the new birth They would perceive and then they would believe and then they would receive Christ and now all these things work together now Let's go into our lessons The lessons that we're going to learn in this may be familiar and may be some things that you hadn't thought about But Nicodemus was a representative of Israel coming back to our historical setting historically Israel was Kaput they were just out of it. They were dead They were they they were God was not ruling in their lives There have been 400 years of silence and all of a sudden God speaks He sends them John the Baptist a prophet preparing the way for the Messiah Jesus comes here comes Nicodemus to Jesus then Nicodemus represents Israel he comes to the night speaking of darkness Lacking spiritual discernment dead in trespasses and sin and he needed to be born again Israel needed all these things. That's just where Ezra was.
So he was symbolic now Let me bring you back a little quick review where we've been in the book of John so far We have seen a blinded priesthood in John chapter 1 21 We saw in 26. We have a blinded priesthood and we have seen a joyless nation. Remember the The water turned into wine no joy wine was a symbol of joy the Filling the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
We have a blinded priesthood a joyless nation. We had a desecrated temple We saw that last time and now we have a spiritually dead ruler of the Jews Now here's another lesson that was our first lesson another lesson Nicodemus though was a seeker And this where you and I have to have discernment when we're with people like yesterday We had a lot of people here and I visited with some most of the day. I guess I was visiting with people but we Those that are seekers spend your time with those that are not be careful about how much time They'll just gobble up your time.
This is why the Spirit of God may prick you on somebody. There's somebody He's a seeker. He came to Jesus.
He defended Jesus and then he Ended up bringing the offering to Jesus So Nicodemus was a man that Jesus recognized that was a seeker a third thing third lesson on the kingdom the kingdom of God That Jesus was teaching Nicodemus is entered by the new birth Now I'm not going to take a lot of time to go into the new birth in this area But it was entered in by the new birth There are a lot of things we could say a lot of lessons in this area But nobody gets into God's kingdom except the new birth. Now. Here's the concept that Jesus taught about and Jesus doesn't talk about the kingdom a lot.
I think he only mentioned it one other time but the Jews did not have the concept a biblical concept of the kingdom of God and a lot of people today in our churches don't either and Here's the concept that was taught by Roman and Paul and Romans that it was the kingdom of God is righteousness Peace joy, it starts in your heart So you have to have a new heart to get into God's you have to have a new heart spiritually to get into God's kingdom you enter in by being born again and God giving you a new heart and So you have to it's evidenced by a moral change in your life. This is why we got so many Professing Christians. Oh, yes.
I love Jesus and They're dressed like hell warmed over, you know or something. Oh, I love the Lord and they're listening to the devil's music all the time. Oh Yeah, I've I've been saved and they're going to Their their life is just one of ungodliness By their fruits you shall know them another lesson That the that was taught in this is the new birth is of supreme importance because the Lord said except except in John chapter 3 Really really I say unto thee except a man be born again He cannot see the kingdom of God in verse 5. Jesus answered very very last saying to thee Except a man be born of water and of the spirit.
He cannot enter into the kingdom of God It's just of supreme importance that you be born again now and he said in verse 7 also must Marvel not that I said unto thee you must be born again if somebody can't explain to you the new birth I would question their new birth We had testimonies this morning in our church several testimonies every one of them had this Concept there was something new happened to me Something new happened to me Something happened inside me and That's the new birth Jesus moved in he became your Savior another lesson here is the instrument of the new birth and verse 5 Jesus and sign to It's talking about the Word of God That's all it can be. It's it's a Figurative sense in this and Jesus if you go through I wrote down a few Verses on this water is figurative like in 737 38. He used it.
Let me read you these verses He that believeth on me as the scripture has said out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water Now this is where it's figurative of the Holy Spirit water was used as a figurative thing and he used it in 414 with a woman at the well remember that If we can rustle on over here and I'm gonna take you back to the ones on the word now, but in where's it 414 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give in him shall never thirst But the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life One of the things that's hard to do is separate the Spirit of God from the Word of God though because they work together but Why the water why use this in this place because water cleanses and Actually, Oh Nicodemus was being doused every time Jesus spoke to him. He's being doused by the Word of God this is why the Bible says in Ephesians chapter 5 and Verse 26 that husbands are to cleanse their wives by the washing of the water of the Word It's used that way So as he's talking about the Word of God now, let's move on we can just go on verse after verse after verse in chapter 3 in verse 414 Nicodemus Was given the lesson of the serpent Why a serpent of brass and we got our old sneaky snake up here on the pole and he's not exactly made out of brass Not even close to brass But why a serpent of brass on a pole? That was the type in the Old Testament and that's the lesson that Jesus gave to Nicodemus It was lifted up and there was only one lesson to the lifted up and that was pointing to the cross Christ was lifted up in chapter 12 and 32 and 34. I don't think I marked this but I'm gonna go back to that Because of the lifting up 32 that people answered him We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth forever and how sayest thou the Son of Man must be lifted up Who is this Son of Man? See Jesus had told him in verse 32 John 12 32 and I if I be lifted up from the earth will draw all men Unto me.
I don't believe there'll be anybody in hell that will point to God and say that you didn't you I it wasn't fair all men have been drawn to Christ and And so he said in 34 the Son of Man must be lifted up and Then they said who is this Son of Man Jesus said unto them yet a little while is the light with you walk while you have the light When God gives you light if you refuse to respond to that light This would go with the heathen as well as the heathen Americans and you won't respond to that light Why should he give you more light when you won't do anything with the light? He's given you That's why some people say well God didn't send a missionary over to this tribe That's because they did not respond to the light that God gave them Why should he give them the whole life of a missionary? He knowing that what they would do with the missionary They have looked at the creation that he's made and they determined that they're gonna worship that they don't go on to say well, there's somebody that created this I Want to know that somebody Let's get him a missionary. Let's get him the gospel Let's get him God is fair now the serpent What's this snake remind you of I was going down the street a couple weeks ago And I and I told my son look over there There's this guy had this big old long snake about 12 foot out on his sidewalk His local pet. No, I don't know if it's a python or what? Well, we kept moving We didn't go back to Petty dear anything, but snakes are basically We killed one out here in the driveway the other day copperhead a little copper, but basically they're deadly By nature, even though they may not be poisonous we associate with them danger don't we Destruction they are the emblem of a curse put this thing up on the pole Emblem of death now why the brass Why a brass this was very important if They would have put a real snake if Moses had put a real snake up there.
It would have blown the type an actual serpent would mar the type because the brass meant judgment and judgment on The sinner and if they would have if he'd had a real snake there Then that would mean judgment on the sinner himself, but the brass would mean judgment on the substitute himself Judgment on Jesus for us. That's why the brass snake It was a lesson to show us that Christ would receive and take our judgment on himself because if we have to take our own judgment we have to go to hell and So a real snake would have marred the type a Likeness of a serpent it says in Romans 8 3 in the likeness of sinful flesh Christ was made So it was a symbol. It was symbolized two other things.
It was a symbol of judgment You know, they had the brazen altar the brass altar what happened on the brass altar on the brass altar What happened the animal was? sacrificed and So the brazen altar the slain animals were there revelation 1 Christ was seen in revelation 1 and what was he doing? He was judging his church. He was he was moving in and out among the churches. And what was his feet made of? brass Brass speaks of judgment one other thing brass speaks of it speaks of hardness Brass can endure speaking that Christ as our substitute he could endure He endured the cross despising the same sat down at the right hand of the father Speaks of hardness it speaks of strength.
And so this is the lessons of Christ Look and live it was the gospel picture in the Old Testament. It was a gospel of grace gospel of love now If you don't Like some of them crawling around they were looking for a doctor and all the people in our churches are roaming around Looking for something only Jesus satisfies, you know Fighting this and that don't fight the serpents all kinds of different things Look at Moses a lot of guys leaders are saying look to me. I will lead you.
I will show you I've got no It's look to Jesus if they would look to Moses They look to the law and some systems are looking to the law for the satisfaction in their life The only thing that satisfies is Christ and I'm gonna can give you some concluding statements and we'll be done Listen to people Listen to what they say meet them on their own ground Jesus met met Nicodemus right where he was The Spirit of God will give you the insight Right where you're at with people when he's using you to minister to people So you meet them right on their own ground use their own world that they're in to point them to Christ It's there now. Let me show you how Jesus did this with Nicodemus. This is very interesting.
Look at verse 2 Chapter 3 in verse 2. I'm going to show you just how he did this Romans John that's where I need to be Okay, the same came to Jesus by night and said unto him rabbi. We know We know now look what Jesus did go back to verse 11 Verily verily I say unto thee we speak that we know Nicodemus you think you know something? I Know what I'm talking about. We speak that we do know now look at verse 2 again The same came to Jesus by night and said unto him rabbi.
We know that thou art a teacher a Teacher come from God. What did Jesus do with him go back to verse 10? Jesus answered and said unto him art thou a master of Israel Meaning are you a master teacher of Israel and know us not these things? Notice what he did in verse 2 again except Except For no man can do these miracles that thou doest except God be with him what Jesus do with that Look at verse 3 Jesus answered and said unto him verily verily. I say unto thee except a Man be born again.
Do you see how Jesus is meeting him right on his own ground? He's right there with him Jesus wasn't off on the stock market wondering what's going on He wasn't wondering what he was going to get when he got home for supper. He was with that person He was with his thought he was not off somewhere else Will we be with him right where they're at? Or will we be distracted enough s'mores? Let me show you some more in verse 4 Nicodemus said unto him how can a man Be born when he is old lay verse 5 Jesus answered and verily verily I say unto thee except a man be born of water and of the Spirit. He cannot enter into the kingdom of God the how Did you have to be born by the water and the Spirit? by the way Jesus he took him right where he's at because he said Except and Jesus comes right back again in verse 5. He says except a man be born would water He just stayed right with him Until he got him Let me show you a couple more verse 4 Nicodemus said can he enter the second time in his mother's womb? Look at verse 5 Jesus said he cannot enter Into the kingdom of God He's using the same words To take him right along.
He won't let him go. Look at verse 9 Nicodemus comes back with a question again. Nicodemus answered instead of him.
How can these things be and what do you think Jesus did? Look at verse 12 if I have told you earthly things and you believe not how Shall you believe how? He's right with him. I think many times we don't win people to Christ because we're not with him And we're not with the Spirit of God and we're just not with them. We're just not with it many times We're with ourself too busy about our own things one more look at verse 9 Nicodemus answered and said to him.
How can these things be notice things? How can these things what Jesus do about that? Look at verse 10 Jesus answered and said unto him art thou a master of Israel and knowest not these things Know it's not these things Jesus is the master teacher The reason many times we don't accomplish too much is because we're not learning of the master Learning of man too much and this where Nicodemus was in trouble here. He was a leader of Israel He couldn't lead one soul to heaven Because he wasn't on the right track But he got on the right track Man sinned by looking to a serpent and man will be saved by looking to the type of Christ as the brazen servant when you I'm gonna give you this statement when you look See what's really there When you look see what's really there When you look see what's really there There's lots of illusions and things How many times have you gone to pull out into an intersection? You drove up you look And you pulled out and break scream honks. Oh, I didn't see that.
You didn't see what was really there. Did you? That's why they say look again and usually sometimes you need look three times I don't know how many times that's happened to me that car the second I look over there real quick will be right behind the post on my window over there Look and see what's really there The master of the universe took the master of Israel to the cross if you don't get them to the cross You won't get him to Jesus Where will we take those that we meet this week? The same came to Jesus. We must get them to Jesus.
He's the teacher. Let's pray Thank you Lord for the lessons you've given us today the insight Either we need to be saved or We are saved and if we are saved then we need to be learning more of the master Teacher on how to get men to Jesus. Thank you Lord Jesus for the lesson you given us Thank you.
Holy Spirit for the insight that you've given us into The life of Nicodemus in his encounter with Christ in Jesus name. Amen
