A Falling Away

I believe my Bible speaks of a coming day when sin will reign in the world. In 2 Thessalonians, the Apostle Paul describes this period of the end times right before the appearance of Antichrist. We read in chapter 2, beginning in verse 1, Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering unto him, that ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that day of Christ is at hand.

Let no man deceive you by any means, for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed the son of perdition. I will stop there, friends. Here, the Apostle Paul tells us that in the last days, before the return of Christ, that there shall be a great falling away first, a falling away in society, a falling away in the church.

Let me ask you, friends, is this not the day in which we live, where the wheels have come off our nation, as society spins out of control in a moral landslide, where our government calls evil good, and has legalized sin in every capacity, and has legislated God right out of the country? And where is the church in all of this? She lies in a spiritual stupor, bent on her own self-preservation, as there is a falling away in the church as well, a falling away through a sad spiritual declension, an apostasy in denominations. We are living right on the verge of the reign of Antichrist, as he shall soon appear, because the world is now ripe for his appearance. I believe that good and sincere men, who are preaching a perverted gospel, are preparing the religious world to welcome the Antichrist with open arms.

When sin reigns around us, then we will know how close we are to these things appearing. Let me ask you, friend, have you ever seen a time as wicked as the days as we are now living in? I've lived a long time, and I've never before witnessed such an evil day as we live in. Our cities have become killing grounds.

Our judicial system and political system is corrupt. Our corporations rotten to the core. Our communities flooded with the worst perversion that spills over everything, tainting it like a filthy sewer.

The Apostle Paul declares, that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first. But listen to me, friends, keep your eye on the sky and your hearts in a sweetheart love and close intimacy with Jesus, like a brilliant diamond against a background of black velvet. The darker things get, the brighter he will appear, for my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness.
