The title of my message today, friends, is Don't Give Up on God. He hasn't given up on you, and I hope you give it a good listen, and I hope God can use it as a blessing in your life. Let me pray.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the gift of your son Jesus. I thank you, Jesus, for loving me enough to die on a bloody cross for me. No, I've let you down from time to time, but you have never, ever let me down.

Lord, you've put up with me when no one else would. You've never let loose of me or given up on me. I would have given up on me a long time ago, but you never did.

Let me preach for you today, Lord. Let me preach for you with power. I'm bankrupt without you.

I have no power without you. Infuse in me your spirit for this hour that I may preach with your resurrection power. Let these dear ones here today see the hope that is in Jesus, Jesus, the blessed hope.

I believe your promises are true. I believe you are true to your promises. Give me now, oh Lord, a touch of heaven and let one, someone here feel the disturbing presence of Christ.

Pray you bring change to them. Pray you bring hope to them. Bring salvation to those who need forgiveness of sin.

Bring healing in a life today. Bring healing emotionally. Bring healing physically.

Bring healing financially. You are a God who still works miracles. I love you, Jesus of Nazareth, my King, my blessed Savior.

Come with a blessing today. I pray these things in the strong name of Jesus. Amen.

Amen. My daughter and I had just finished our morning walk in our neighborhood park and when we got home, she went to her room and I went upstairs to my bedroom. On the floor of my bedroom was the body of my dead wife.

She had committed suicide. That day, both of our lives were never the same. I didn't know my wife was depressed at the time and she was the last person in the world who you thought would ever take her own life, but she did.

My daughter was 14 years old at the time and I soon learned the challenges of being a single parent to a teenager who'd been touched by tragedy, but God got us through. I've watched my daughter grow up into a strong young lady who graduated college with honors, but I'm not going to lie to you, friends. It's been the toughest time of our lives.

I don't know how people make it without Jesus. I could have never gone through this tragedy without Jesus. You know, Jesus can set you free, friend.

He has power to save. He has power to heal a broken heart. He has power for any situation in your life.

Jesus sits on a throne up in heaven at the right hand of the Father and he earned that right by way of a bloody cross. He went to that cross out of obedience to the Father and he stayed nailed up on that cross because of his love. He loved me and gave himself for me.

Jesus suffered and died on that cross at Calvary and he was buried and after three days he rose from the dead and he appeared to his disciples. Then he ascended back into the very heaven he had stepped out of to come down here so we can go up there. Have you ever trusted Jesus, friend? Jesus is the friend of sinners.

Are you a sinner? Do you need for giving us a sin? Well, he's your man. I know I am a sinner and I need a substitute for sin in the person of Christ Jesus and so do you, friend. So do you.

I know life can get pretty tough sometimes. I know at times it can be almost unbearable, but do you know what Jesus said? He said, come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly of heart and ye shall find rest unto your souls for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

When the world is on your shoulders and everything seems like it's spinning out of control, I want you to know, friend, that God is always in control. There are no surprises up in heaven and nothing can happen to us down here without at first going through the providential hand of God. There's a lot of misquotes about the Bible.

One of them is the saying that God won't give you more than you can handle. Jesus never said that. The actual verse referenced is from 1 Corinthians 10 13.

It speaks about the temptation of sin. The verse reads, there hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man. But God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able.

But with the temptation also make a way of escape that ye may be able to bear it. I can promise you, friend, there comes some time in your life where a situation will come into your life that you can't handle. You can't deal with it on your own.

It's too big for you. It's too devastating to you. God will allow you to go through it for his purpose.

And the fact that you have endured it is a testimony to the grace of God. There is a Baptist pastor out there who had to go through the murder of his congregation and his little girl by a madman who came into that church that Sunday morning, blasting away with a gun. And many Christians were slaughtered there that day.

Well, how did that father, that pastor, get through that terrible tragedy? The only explanation is God. When God doesn't make sense, you can still sense him. He is there with you during that time.

I don't know what you're going through, friend, but I want you to know something that I can tell you from my own personal experience of living through a terrible family tragedy. No matter how bad things get, don't give up on God because he hasn't given up on you. There is always hope in Jesus.

Jesus said in John 12, 32. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. Look at that man on the cross, friend.

He loves you. He died for you. Look at that bloodstained Savior from sin, crucified there on Calvary with his arms outstretched, beckoning you to come to him and believe on him.

Give yourself up to God, friend, and come surrender all those weights in your life, all those burdens too heavy, and bring them there to the foot of that cross. Jesus is the only remedy and refuge for sin. His yoke is easy and his burden is light.

Are you weary of your sins? Are you thirsty for this Jesus? Give it all to him, friend. There's power in those nail-pierced hands to handle any situation you are in. Come to him and lay your burdens on him.

Come to him and believe on him. And the spirit and the bride say, come. And let him that hear say, come.

And let him that is the thirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
