The recent comments made by President Trump regarding North Korea that if provoked the United States would rain down fire and fury on North Korea like this world has never seen before. The President's remarks brings a passage of scripture to my mind friends which is found in Genesis chapter 19 and in verses 23 through 28 which reads the sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven and he overthrew those cities and all the plain and all the inhabitants of the cities and that which grew upon the ground but his wife looked back from behind him and she became a pillar of salt and Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord and he looked towards Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the plain and beheld and lo the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace America should not fear her enemies like North Korea as much as America should fear a sin avenging God who has been provoked by a God rejecting nation and a sin loving society that has turned its back on God and has legislated him out of our government and culture in the Old Testament Jehovah God often used the enemies of Israel as a means of chastisement and judgment upon his wayward people but God is still the same God who rained fire and fury down upon the wicked inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah oh why do the wicked inhabitants of America believe they are immune to God's justice and judgment I believe the answer can be found in the fact that the Church of America for the most part has preached another gospel and another God to a generation that does not know the living God of the Bible only a turning back to the God of the Bible in true repentance will keep this nation from a provoked sin avenging God who will and must punish sin may God have mercy on us all let us pray
