I was at a local restaurant, and there was a college-aged girl sitting behind me with her grandparents, and she told them that she did not believe in God, that God did not exist. And this girl's grandparents sat in silence, they had no answer for her. And I fear that college-aged girl speaks for her generation, as most of them are atheists and have no belief in God.

In my Bible, in Psalm 14.1, God describes all those who claim he does not exist. The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. The original text reads, the fool has said in his heart, no God.

In other words, no God for him. He wants to live his life on his own terms, without any interference from God. But God calls this person a fool, and every God-hating fool will soon be parted from this world and thrust into an eternity they are quite unprepared for.

This generation of young people today say in their hearts, there is no God. They don't want nothing to do with him. Many years ago, I was playing golf with a wealthy businessman, who had one of the filthiest mouths I ever heard.

Every word that came out of this man's mouth was a swear word, or he took God's name in vain. Finally, I looked him in the eye and asked him, how was your relationship with God? This man smiled a big grin and answered, just fine. I have a good relationship with God.

He leaves me alone, and I leave him alone. The fool has said in his heart, no God. Jesus compared the end times to the days of Noah, where the people were eating and drinking and marrying and going about their business, when the flood came and swept them all away.

The title of my message this evening, friends, is Godless Generation Swept Away, and my text can be found in the book of Ecclesiastes in chapter 8 and verse 11. You can turn in your Bibles there now, friends. I believe this particular verse sums up the attitude of this present godless generation that is ready to be swept away through sudden death.

America has become the land of sudden death. Why, you can't go anywhere today without risking being gunned down by a madman. All those people that went to that country music festival in Las Vegas had no clue that that was their last day on earth.

Shots rang out, and folks were suddenly cut down and thrust into eternity. I want to read you this verse, friends, because I believe it sums up this entire godless generation today. Here now is the word of God, and may the Spirit of the Lord be pleased to attend the reading of his holy word.

Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Believe, friends, that this generation does not believe in God because they can sin all they want to and get away with it for now. They see no common judgment in their minds.

They are all right. Their lifestyle is all right. They are fine without a God in their life.

But like I said, we live in a land of sudden death where you can wake up one day and that very same day make your bed in hell. I have a verse for this generation of godless sinners who foolishly believe that there is no God and they can live their life the way they want to and shake their fists in the face of God and get away with it. Here is my answer to that godless lifestyle that lives in the pleasure of the moment.

It's found in the next chapter of our book of Ecclesiastes in chapter 9 and in verse 12. For man also knoweth not his time, as the fishes that are taken in the evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, so are the sons of men snared in an evil time when it falleth suddenly upon them. To live in a land of sudden death with no fear of God and no belief in God, no belief in the God of the Bible, is to surely live as a fool who will be suddenly swept away through sudden death.

Repent now and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ before it's too late. Let us pray.
