My Bible speaks of one who promised to die in my stead, Jesus Christ, the son of God, herein is love. Not that we love God, but that he loved us and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins. I feel bad for all the unconverted church members who have a theoretical view of Christianity without ever having known the reality of God in the soul of man through the applied shed blood of Christ Jesus.
If you want to find the mind of God, friend, go get you a hammer and a nail and go take that nail and pound a hole through your Bible from cover to cover so that every page is pierced. Then take a sewing needle and some red thread and push it into Genesis chapter 1 and thread it all through the Old and New Testament. Then when you get to the last page of the book of Revelation, cut the thread and tie a knot so that when you open your Bible every page will reveal a crimson thread and you will see red to remind you that Christ the Lord shed his very blood for sinful man.
That the only thing which can keep an old sinner like me out of a devil's hell is the fact that on a hill far away on a place called Calvary the son of God was crucified and his blood was shed and his life laid down and applied to me. That red thread will help you see that every page of God's holy book has meaning and hope for a poor lost sinner like you and like me. Calvary is a fact that God's son would pour his life out as a ransom for sinners as a satisfaction to a holy God to keep people out of hell.
All through this Bible is the promise that the time would come when Christ would step out of heaven and come down here so we can go up there. God provided a savior who was the lamb slain before the foundation of the world that the blood runs through my Bible like a fountain in Exodus we read and when I see the blood I will pass over you and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt. Yes sir, that crimson thread runs across all the pages of my Bible from century to century to sinner to sinner.
Old Abraham could look to the one who would die for him and be saved just as I could look to the one and be saved who died for me. The atoning blood of Christ was seen in the blood of the sin offering and Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering atonements. We see the blood in Hebrews insecure and pardoned but into the second went the high priest alone once every year not without blood which he offered for himself and for the errors of the people and without shedding the blood is no remission.
My only hope friend and your only hope is to look to a bleeding and dying Christ that I can cast all my hope in the one hanging on a cross. Thank God the blood was promised. God's son came in the flesh to this old earth and he walked and taught in a country called Palestine and he was arrested and tried and taken and crucified outside the city and God laid sin on him and he hung there under the curse and lash of God's holy law and he shed his blood and poured out his life for a sinner like me.
Christ died for sinners. Are you a sinner? The atoning blood of Christ must be on my soul but this is my blood of the new testament which is shed for many for the remission of sins. My sins are stacked up against me and they rise like a mountain before me and I stand in their dark shadow and they will one day accuse me before just and holy God.
His wrath hangs over my head like the sword of Damocles glistening with my own blood because I'm under his condemnation but my hope is in his blood much more than being now justified by his blood. We should be saved from wrath through him. I can see myself standing at that last judgment day and I tremble there before that great white throne as the books are open and my life is revealed and reviewed and I stand there guilty as any sinner this side of a hot hell as I stand before that pure white throne with the judge of all the earth searching me with his intense scrutiny.
I feel the heat behind me from that red glowing lake that spits and sputters like a hungry wolf ready to devour me and God he drops the plumb line of his strict law on me and if I stand there in my own merits I will fail that test for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. I must stand there in the merits of another the Lord Jesus Christ so that when God looks at me he can declare pardon when I see the blood when I see the blood for as much as you know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers but with the precious blood of Christ as a lamb without blamish and without spot. Yes friend my only hope is in the blood I must be born from above and washed in the blood so I can sing with the saints in glory unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood but bless God and hallelujah his blood is on my soul.
Dear Jesus all my sins forgave and washed and made me whole I have sweet peace and joy within his blood is on my soul the tempter cannot overcome or gain the least control I have God's everlasting seal his blood is on my soul his blood is on my soul my soul his blood is on my soul I rest securely in his hands his blood is on my soul I have his spirit now within my life's his control I'm ready for that crown and day his blood is on my soul I am determined by his grace to reach bright heaven's goal and reign with Jesus on his throne his blood is on my soul his blood is on my soul my soul his blood is on my soul I rest securely in his hands his blood is on my soul
