17 Signs that Jesus is returning soon

Edgar Reich · 35:48

Edgar Reich passionately teaches that obedience to God's commandments and readiness in witnessing are crucial signs that Jesus' return is imminent.
In this prophetic sermon, Edgar Reich explores 17 signs indicating that Jesus' return is imminent, emphasizing the importance of obedience to God's commandments and revival. Drawing from biblical examples like Moses, Jonah, and Gideon, Reich shares his personal journey of responding to God's call despite initial hesitation. He encourages believers to remain faithful, repent, and actively participate in revival prayer as preparation for Christ's coming.

continues. The challenge tonight continues with the verse from the last book of the Bible, Revelation chapter 22 verse 14, where God reminded us where he wants us to do his commandments. And Revelation 22 verse 14 says, blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have a right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates into the city.

The Lord Jesus had also reminded us of his commands in John chapter 14 verse 15, if you love me keep my commandments. And when Jesus went to heaven, he also said to teach his commandments to all new believers. It says so in Matthew 28 verse 20, where it says, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and lo, I'm with you always even unto the end of the world.

Amen. And then Jesus proved in Revelation chapter 2 and 3 that his sayings were commandments. He judged Christians of five churches severely and except they repented, there were penalties.

We can repent when we fail, of course, but the Lord wants us to change the road we are on with his help. So John 1 9 says, if we confess our sins, he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This does not take away from the doctrine of grace, where we are saved by grace and not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians chapter 2 verses 8 to 9 says, for by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Now doing the commandments brings great joy, rewards, blessings, and happiness from the Lord.

And so I have shared 10 examples with you in the past, and tonight I want to give one last example. There is obedience in witnessing, obedience in adultery, obedience not to steal, obedience in giving up lying, obedience in forgiving the person that affected my life negatively for 50 years, obedience in keeping the Sunday holy, obedience in loving our neighbors and esteeming others better than ourselves, obedience in loving an enemy that had done great harm in my life, then obedience to ask for forgiveness of those that I had hurt greatly, and obedience in forsaking all. After we are saved, the Bible passage from Ephesians 2 verse 10 reminds us, for we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

So the Lord helps us with many commands he has given throughout the Bible, and to do our part. Now we've had a problem tonight on the Revival Prayer Call where many people did not receive the invitation, although the invitations were sent out. And I asked for forgiveness from that, but we did send the invitations on Saturday.

I also mentioned some things before the call, and I cannot explain why some of my emails did not reach the recipients. And there is a problem with the email providers, and they had told me before I'm a Christian, but some of my emails do not meet their community standards. But when inviting people for revival praying, how can that not meet community standards? So I had given the invites to another brother on the call, to Ralph Secondcost, and there were also problems from his side.

Now Sister Jeanette was kind enough to follow up with many, many people, and she is on the call with us now. And Sister, just give us a short message, please, not a long one, because we want to continue the challenge that God has given us, okay? So please let us know. I know you're upset, and I appreciate greatly your quick work, okay? I really do, but I cannot control the forces of evil and what is happening out there, okay? Brother Edgar, I just actually texted everybody else again just before the call.

In fact, Sister Christine sent me the link. I didn't come on with your link. I came on with Sister Christine's link.

She sent it to me. So I had texted everybody again, and they said no, they hadn't received anything from you. So if you look on the call, you can see only the ones mainly from the United States are on the call.

So it looks like the people that are, you know, from foreign countries haven't actually received your message for whatever reason. Well, we have Pastor Isaac Mbunda on the call. Yeah, we have got those two, yes.

Yeah, we do have those two. So maybe what they could have done is what I need to notify everybody is tell them to perhaps go, if they've still got the link from last week, they can click on that and come on the call. I think I should do that in future, don't you think so? Yes, that would be a very good idea, and that's also what Brother Robin O'Donnell suggested, that when people get the link, unless they get a notification that the meeting is cancelled, then they can simply click on that link if they keep it on their email.

Yeah, right. And of course, everybody was disappointed. They said, why Jeanette, why? And I said, I don't know.

Brother Edgar and Brother Ralph's thing didn't come through. Well, we know that Ralph didn't send it because he was on vacation, but I did say that I'm also waiting for Brother Edgar's link to come in. So I spoke to Christine and she actually initially didn't receive it either, but she went back on your previous link and she clicked on that and she was able to get through.

And then she called me up and she said to me, Jeanette, would you like to get on the call? I said, how are you on the call? So she said she clicked on the link from last week. Thank you so much, Sister Christine. That's excellent.

Thank you for doing that and welcome to everyone tonight. And if you did not get an invitation, that is a problem, a technical problem with the internet people, because invitations were sent to everyone. You were not left out and you were not neglected, okay? Because we love you so much and we are so glad you can join us for prayer.

And it's such a blessing to have everyone on the prayer call. So I'm now going to continue with the challenge for tonight. And the challenge for tonight is doing the will of God and we are called for revival.

Now, I'd like to give three examples from people who were called in the Bible. So Moses was standing before a burning bush in Exodus chapter three of the Bible and God told him that he wanted his nations, the Israelites set free from being slaves in Egypt. And God had said, come now therefore and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring forth my people, the children of Israel out of Egypt.

And that was in Exodus three. And Moses said unto God, who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt? Who me Lord? He was saying. Moses did not want to do it and he started to give excuses to God that God chose the wrong man.

He said, who am I? Pharaoh won't believe me. My speech is no good. I'm slow of speech and I have a slow tongue.

He said, now God gave him powers not of his own. He gave him Aaron to speak and Moses followed God precisely after that and some of the greatest miracles the world has ever seen followed. The key was that Moses followed exactly the commands of God except one time where he struck a rock incorrectly and that caused him to go into the promised land.

So God wants us to also do what he says he wants us to do. Now the prophet Jonah in the Bible was to go to the city of Nineveh and warn them of a great judgment from God coming which would destroy them and kill them because of all of their evil and sin. Jonah did not want to do that.

He tried to flee from the Lord but God sent a great fish and put him into the fish for three days and three nights. Then the fish spit him onto the land that led eventually to the city of Nineveh. The acids in the fish's stomach probably turned the prophet's skin totally white.

This is an assumption on my part and but others also wrote about this because they once found a horse inside a great fish in the 18th century and it had turned all white from being in the stomach acid of this great fish. So the people in the great city of Nineveh believed Jonah fasted and turned from sinning. God then did not destroy and kill them.

The key was that the prophet finally and after running from God was obedient and proclaimed what he was supposed to do. Then in the Bible in Judges chapter 6 the Lord spoke to a man by the name of Gideon and told him go in your might and you shall save Israel from the hand of the nation of Midianites. Gideon went against his own family and his father and destroyed an image to a false god Baal but his father did defend him.

The Spirit of God came upon Gideon to act and do what God had told him to do. Gideon wanted to be sure and asked the Lord to send him a confirmation. He used a fleece of wool to have confirmation of God's will.

Then God reduced the army Gideon called to 300 men to go against the army of Midianites and the Amalekites. The Bible says the valley the valley of them was full like grasshoppers. The camels were without number.

They were like sand by the sea but God gave Gideon a great incredible victory with only 300 men. The key was that Gideon followed the exact commands of God. Tonight I want to share the 11th example of my trying to do a command from the Lord.

It is the hardest and the most difficult directive from the Lord to me I was old already and sinned much. I heard from the Lord but did not understand and I delayed doing his command to follow up and revival for three years. Likewise I was called by the Lord even as Moses was called even as the prophet Jonah was called and even as Gideon was called.

I'm nothing compared to these men but God called me for revival even by delaying my obedience God has been merciful to me so here is the story. I was studying scripture and praying as I was reading scripture about a year later after I was saved a still small voice came which said lead my people in revival I have appointed you. This was on February 11th 2005 now 21 years ago.

It was first a call through the spirit and later it was confirmed through a call by five men. Initially I was greatly confused by this call in May of that year in 2005 when I was called I would be 63 years old I was shocked and I asked the Lord to confirm what he said he did I answered Lord I'm just a businessman I still work for AP industries I'm not ordained I'm just a Christian about a year ago you saved me but I have a very sinful past also I'm divorced no one is going to listen to me no denomination will want me there are many dynamic speakers and Christians out there and no Christian will believe an old divorced businessman Lord there are many young dynamic people and Christians who are extraordinary preachers Lord you must appoint them. The Lord answered with a tiny small voice giving me a Bible passage from first Samuel chapter 10 verse 6 which said and the spirit of the Lord will come upon you and you shall prophesy with them and shall be turned into another man and I answered but Lord this cannot be for me I'm in business I'm not ordained also Lord the Bible passage you're giving me is about you appointing King Saul over Israel he turned against you at the end and I never want to turn against you after I said this the Lord gave me a second passage for my call from the Lord and it comes from second Samuel chapter 7 verse 15 and there it says but my mercy shall not depart away from him as I took it from Saul whom I put away before thee this was a promise to King David concerning his son Solomon who later had 700 wives princesses and 300 concubines and his wife turned away his heart from God.

God told King David that he would be with King Solomon forever and also forgive him God was saying that now also to me I said but Lord I'm still in business running companies shortly thereafter I was told by AP Industries that my job would be terminated terminated I would lose my job I would be without a job but then rather than giving me eight months severance they gave me 3.5 years severance in an office next to the chairman I then said Lord I'm losing my job and so I will go to seminary the still voice came back no do not go to seminary in New York I did not know why but through helping another pastor who went there I found out that for instance a professor there denied that the story of Jonah in the Bible really happened he called it something like an allegory he went against the Lord Jesus who had quoted Jonah indicating that this story was true I started to study the Bible 10 to 12 hours per day for three years every word from God every day for three years I studied then through the Bible at least 3.5 times every word under the teaching of the Holy Spirit because I always prayed that he would teach me to understand during that time the Lord also allowed me to start a Bible fellowship at the head office of AP industries with 200 employees during the final fellowship there were 95 employees of 200 who came to the last fellowship meeting three years after the call by the Lord I still had not followed God's instructions to proceed with revival now God wants revival more than we do for he says draw near to me and I will draw near to you I still felt I'm a man not ordained who is divorced and who should not do the Lord's call I continue to say Lord I can't I'm too evil and I'm too old but the Lord replied if you love me keep my commandments uh John 14 15 and then the Bible also says in Romans chapter 11 verse 29 for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance many of the newer translations say for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable now God then used five Christian leaders to call me to start speaking in revival and to commence a revival ministry three years late in year 2008 now brother Steve Lillis who is a chaplain and a missionary leader who has been on our call to pray quite a few times we were praying then together holding each other accountable before God that each of us was were staying away from sin and we prayed together every third every Friday afternoon one Friday he started screaming at me you are called of God you must do God's will and and he got so angry at me I got afraid I told him Steve please settle down you're a Christian and he was quite angry actually and he said why are you not doing what God has called you to do he continued shouting at me and I was very upset I went home and I entered the word revival in my computer up came a website called excuse me Revival New York Pastor Bruce Berliner I had never heard of this man he was preaching on Wall Street where Jeremiah Lampierre had started a prayer meeting in New York that led to a great revival in America I asked the Lord should I contact this pastor there was no answer the next morning I went to a man's prayer meeting in Wayne New Jersey 40 miles away from New York it started at 6 a.m till 8 a.m in the morning I arrived 10 minutes to before six and I went to in the room to a table at the end of the room there was a man sitting there already and I said good morning and he looked at me and he responded good morning pastor I was upset why would he call me pastor he did not know me I responded no I'm not a pastor the man looked at me and said maybe you don't know it yet but you're called of God and you are a pastor I was even more upset and annoyed how could he say that he didn't know me I responded and said sort of testily and who might you be to say these things he answered my name is Pastor Bruce Berliner from Wall Street Revival New York here was the pastor whose name I had seen the day before on the computer he knew I was called God must have somehow told him I was afraid and my legs buckled I sat down the more pastor Bruce spoke the more I became afraid he said I don't know why I'm here this morning the Holy Spirit got me out of bed at 4 40 to come here I have two churches to take care of for Sunday and I have a funeral meeting this morning but God sent me here I don't know why I could not tell him that I knew why I was too afraid and I was shaking I called him after two weeks and we had lunch and I told him my story he said you're called of God and you must do what God tells you to do now Pastor Bruce Berliner he has died in the meantime he was a white Jewish pastor who was saved to believe in the son of God as the Messiah he spoke in Revival on Wall Street New York and he led three Christian churches and a radio program in New York City the second pastor that confronted me was Pastor Martinez he was a Hispanic pastor and co-chairman of a large Christian denomination in New Jersey he called me Reverend I said I was not he said you're called of God and you will be then there was Reverend Dr. Robert L. Curry an African-American pastor and former chairman of the Baptist Convention of New Jersey and greater region and he spoke with me and on the 20th of July 2008 Pastor Dr. Curry asked me to speak a sermon in Mount Zion Baptist Church in New Jersey he had invited many pastors to see if they heard the Holy Spirit speak through me and God spoke through an unprofitable servant in a message called the Seventh Witness one pastor said I heard him preach like Billy Graham using the Bible says many times let us allow him to speak so the Lord then allowed me in many churches and I wasn't even ordained but God opened up churches for me to speak and I was still uncertain I had a fleas in my kitchen that was like Gideon's fleas who had asked for confirmation from God I said if Pastor Dr. Reverend Curry would confirm my calling then I would confirm with the Lord but I wanted to have his confirmation in 2010 I had lunch with Reverend Dr. Curry and he said if I wanted to preach in different denominations I must be ordained he said he would teach me doctrine and prepare me for ordination in the following year on April 2, 2011 at the age of nearly 69 years old I was examined by and ordained by 10 African-American pastors so God did all he deserves all the glory then there was a fifth person Reverend James Collins an African-American pastor from the rough side of New York City and he also pushed me hard and said you got to do God's will so God called me and then I lost my job and it was all God's will and God did it he did not give up on me even so I delayed in obedience and he has caused me incredible blessings and incredible joy doing the Lord's will the Lord has also allowed me to speak in many of the states of the United States and also in other other nations the Lord sent me to Mexico to Australia he sent me to to Canada to also speak in Canada of course and he sent me to Germany to Barbados I spoke in three different churches in Israel which was a great miracle that those churches allowed me to speak they didn't know me and in Africa I was allowed to speak in Kenya and Tanzania or Tanzania if you say in African and I was allowed to speak also in pastors conferences I've seen many miracles of salvation and miracles of evil spirits and demons who had to leave however never look at me I'm just an unprofitable servant of God doing his duty I have seen so many things and four times I saw drops of revival in Oklahoma there were 90 young offenders who had used weapons and 40 of them started running to the altar to be saved and forgiven in Tanzania the Holy Spirit came into a pastor's conference very very strongly and many African pastors fell to the ground and started repenting and confessing under the Holy Spirit the supervising bishop stopped the Holy Spirit he told the pastors to get off the ground to stop repenting to sing a song and then to go home so I was so sad then because there was really revival starting there in New Jersey in a nearly 5,000 member church we were ministering with Reverend Simpson and his wife at a man's meeting many men started to get up and line up in front of all of the other men there was a long line of men asking for prayers and repenting before God the senior pastor stopped the meeting and asked us to close the meeting then in Barbados many pastors humbled themselves in an interdenominational meeting with five different denominations present many came forward for prayer at the end there was a cry for revival but the Holy Spirit did not fall on us now God has done all of this in meetings it is his glory it is his power it is all God's doing if the Holy Spirit convicts men and women of saving grace and Christians to repent the revival ministry that I'm talking about started with the Lord's call in my life and there was an immediate call for obedience and to follow him in spirit and in truth his call was if you love me keep my commandments John 14 verse 15 by doing what he said to do has been my greatest experience blessing and joy in life and in the world it for and I mentioned this before but I'll say it again it far exceeds teaching at the University of Toronto or running a major 900 million dollar corporation or experiencing riches I found why I was born I have experienced true joy and blessings through salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ and following him and I know my destiny my destiny me may also include great trials and not everything may go my way the Lord knows I will be however blessed in the arms of my Savior and Lord in the destiny there are blessings and rewards that have overwhelmed me and even when I was writing this I was weeping so please understand I'm just a speck of dust a kernel of sand a tiny blade of grass that withers away my joy is that all was done by my Lord in his name and he told me I'm an unprofitable servant doing his duty and you find that in Luke chapter 17 verse 10 and that is fine with me I'm so glad to just be used by the Lord for his glory yes when we are obedient to him we will experience great joy incredible rewards and then in Revelation 22 verse 14 God had reminded us in the last chapter of the Bible blessed are they that do his commandments and so we're coming to the end of this challenge and the Lord has prepared me all of my life for revival the Lord has prepared you for the ministry you you are in and he says to you today for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable but the Lord always wants us to start with the things that are written in the Bible for us to do directly before he may give us a specific job to do and so my question to you is are you obedient in witnessing and giving the gospel are you giving up any sexual immorality is there any stealing don't lie be obedient in forgiving others even if they hurt you be obedient in keeping the son be holy be obedient in loving neighbors and esteeming others better than yourself be obedient in loving enemies be obedient to ask for forgiveness when when you have hurt others even family members and are you obedient when even Jesus says you cannot be my disciple unless you forsake all now I'm not perfect I in the first line I cry out to God when I fall short and I use first John 1 9 where it says if we confess our sins he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness now some of you are likely like Job God has given you great trials to overcome but you're righteously walking before God however there might be some Christians who have a lot of things going wrong and maybe you need to look at yourself and examine yourself because I wish you all the greatest blessings imaginable I wish you all the greatest joy in the world I wish you all of your prayers fulfilled and so then there might be some people on the call that have never made peace with God the father through faith in his son the Lord Jesus and I urge you to pray and ask for forgiveness of your sins and put your faith in the son of God the Lord Jesus Christ let us pray heavenly father I thank you so much for the great examples of Moses Jonah and Gideon who went in obedience Lord there were some problems as there were some at the beginning Lord but when obedience came you did all through them through your power Lord God you deserve all praise glory and honor and so Lord you have helped me an unprofitable servant but Lord you have given me great incredible joy and I thank you so much I thank you for doing things through me that I have never imagined and that you can do everything through anybody on this call Lord and I consider them all better on the call than me so please bless everyone on the call please help everyone on the call please give everyone joy everlasting on the call and help everyone to do your will and also be obedient and I pray this in Jesus name amen and amen
