Text

Why does a person choose to take a chance to go into death without preparing? The Bible gives us a glimpse of what is on the other side.

It shows a man who died as one who did not believe. It says "In hell, he lifted up his eyes"; where will you open your eyes? It says he was in torments, he was in pain. He cried out for help, but he was beyond help. Today is the day to cry out to Jesus for help. He wanted his five brothers to repent, he didn't want them to come to where he was.

If a person dies without salvation there will be many surprises. A person will find himself standing in a place he did not know existed or believe in. Reality will hit, it's true, there is life after death! The person will see a throne on which will sit the JUDGE of all men. He finally meets the One he denied, rejected, and cursed. He sees the angel who looks after the BOOK OF LIFE. The JUDGE speaks as the sound of thunder, "Does his name appear?"

The terror of death grips the person. Fear and trembling come all over his being. Great horror overwhelms him. Somehow he knows his name does not appear in the BOOK. His memory kicks in to the day he heard preaching in a tent, but he did not go. He remembers a preacher who tried to tell him about Jesus but he cursed him. He remembers coming so close to going to the hall where the services were, but his friends convinced him instead to go drink, smoke up, and party all night. He sees the angel walking to the throne and shaking his head, a sign saying his name is not in the BOOK.

The One who sits on the throne speaks again as the sound of thunder: "Depart from me, I do not know who you are!" Two angels come to escort him to the gates of hell. The sorrows of death swirl around his soul as a mighty storm. The gates of hell open and he is thrown in. The pains of hell grab his soul and feast on it.

This is it, this is the other side of death a person did not believe in. This is where being murdered without Jesus ends up in. This is where O-ding ends up in. This is where dying in a car accident without Jesus ends up in. This is where drowning without Jesus ends up in. This is where commiting SUICIDE ends up in.

My young friend, Jesus offers you an abundant life. The Palace door into the King's Presence is open. Don't go into eternity without getting registered in the Book of Life. Prepare, so you will see the angel who looks after the Book nod his head to the JUDGE on the throne. Prepare, so your heart will rejoice when you hear the words, "Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord."
