Made Them Male & Female

Gbile Akanni · 1:27:59

Gbile Akanni teaches that God's original design for marriage as male and female is intentional, complementary, and foundational for fulfilling His eternal purpose in matrimony.
In this expository sermon, Gbile Akanni explores God's original design for marriage as revealed in Scripture, focusing on the creation of male and female and their complementary roles. He emphasizes the importance of understanding and applying biblical principles to build strong, God-honoring marriages. Through detailed study of Matthew 19 and Genesis 2, Akanni encourages believers to embrace God's intentional design and reject cultural misconceptions that undermine matrimony.

Let us sit back and listen as the servant of God brings forth the Word of Life. We want to thank God for this time and we'd like to call on God together as we come to the second theme message of this meeting as we are going ahead.

Let us pray together. Our Father, we thank you for the opportunity of this Corpus Retreat. Lord, we ask that you please help us.

Let your Word come to us with simplicity. Let it mix with faith in our hearts. Let it do us good.

Let it propel us onto the kind of thing you had in mind when you were bringing us together as couples in matrimony. Thank you. Please undertake for us this evening the time we have.

We pray that you maximize it for us. In Jesus Christ's name we have prayed. Amen.

Amen. In the morning, we began to look at God's design, God's original intention, what God actually was bringing our marriage to accomplish in His eternal purpose. We began to deal with two passages, two very, very basic passages, which we say we are going to come on again this evening as the Lord will permit us.

We read Matthew chapter 19, which is our first basic passage. We are still going to return to it now. Matthew chapter 19.

And then we came on Genesis chapter 2, verse 18 to 25. We did not have the space of analytical study of each of these two passages, apart from the fact that we were able to pick some of the issues that the Lord addressed. Now this evening, as a continuation of our thoughts, we are going to now read.

We read Matthew 19. We read from verse 3 to verse 6 in the first instance. And then we will see how far we can go as we pick Matthew chapter 19 from verse 3, verse 4, verse 5 and verse 6. And I think thereafter as we begin to draw issues, we will go back to Genesis chapter 2. As Sister Sade will begin to read the passage for us and we shall begin to draw issues.

Yes, ma'am. Matthew chapter 19, verses 3 to 6 from the New King James Version. The Pharisees also came to him, testing him and saying to him, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason? And he answered and said to them, Have you not read that he who made them at the beginning made them male and female and said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh.

So then they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man separate. Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man separate or put asunder or tear apart.

Thank you for that reading. Now, I want us to now look at the various issues that Jesus Christ began to raise. They are quite very analytical and we are going to go step by step as much as God will have us.

And then we will go now to look at it from Genesis chapter 2 as the Lord will permit us. Now, I thought we don't have to worry ourselves about verse 3. Because those people even though they only came testing him in order to find something that he will say and they will hold him to his words. But Jesus being the Lord, Jesus being the one that understands the heart of man, he went beyond their question.

He answered them eventually but he laid a very critical principle for Christian home that we should never ignore. To the extent that by the time we came to verse 10, the disciples themselves, they exclaimed, they said, if such is the case of the man with his wife, their own proposal that it is better not to marry. Even though God said it is not good for a man to be alone.

When they see the responsibility, the gravity, the seriousness of what God has joined together. I can hear those disciples say, if it is like that, if it is this kind of thing that you are talking about, it is better somebody should just stay away from marriage. But staying away from marriage does not fulfill the original intention of God for our lives.

So we are going to stay in marriage. Hallelujah. We are going to grow in our marriage.

We are going to advance in our relationship. We are going to glorify God with our marriages. Hallelujah.

Whatever responsibility it carries, it is responsibility in grace. It is responsibility that God had already provided for with his grace. So instead of those disciples that say it is better not to marry, we would like to go ahead and say, what God said is not good for a man to be alone.

Actually, we want to agree with God. I want to walk into that reality. Praise the Lord.

But now, in answering their question, let's look at how Jesus set it out. He said, have you not read that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female? The first striking issue for me is that we must not be ignorant of what God intended for our marriages. So whatever we must read to understand what God has said and to appreciate what God intended to do and to learn the principle by which he set up our marriages, we should not be lazy at it.

We should not, in any way, discontent that we are entering into a relationship and we don't need to be ignorant of how God has set it up. And so, whatever God is helping us to do as we are sitting down here, if we are to point to you to read some materials or some books, please, don't think it is cumbersome. It is not.

You have read so many things about many other things, things that are not even as useful to your life. Why would you be lazy in taking time to study what God has ordained and which you cannot do without? So, I'd like to note that it is important that our marriages are built according to the manufacturer's manual. Our relationships are set according to the word of God and what God has said.

I want to make a point on that before we go ahead. One of the things when our brother and his wife were talking, and for many of us, many of our expectations were derived not from what God said. They were derived either from the environment or from the books that those who struggle with their marriage, what they wrote, or what they made look as if it's an idea that we had imbibed and we have not sat down, actually, to cross-check it with the word of God, with the manufacturer.

Some of the things that have become what people have called norms in their marriages, they were only what others have said, not what God said. And I would like to suggest that as we go ahead, for your marriage to produce what God wanted it to be, you need to give attention to read. Have you not read? Have you not read what the manufacturer says about it? So, it's very important, and I'd like to underscore that as far as Jesus is concerned, ignorance could destroy matrimony.

Lack of biblical knowledge can undermine your marriage. Apart from lack of knowledge, even wrong knowledge, wrong information, information that does not originate from the manufacturer, actually can be destructive, and it has been destructive. So, we want to recommend, first at this level, that every one of us that desires to make the most of our matrimony, let us take the direct counsel from the Lord Jesus.

Have you not read that He, which made them in the beginning, at the beginning, made them male and female, and said, very important, what did God say? Those are the issues that we're going to be looking at in the course of this evening by the grace of God. Now, because we have done Bible study, and I'm trusting God that the Bible study will continue to give us further insight into what we are dealing with, it will help us, we are not going to go back onto some of the things we have emphasized in the Bible studies, but there are a few words that we must pick up now. He, which made them at the beginning, made them male and female.

That's very instructive. Number one, He. Who does that He represent in our discussion? It has been God.

We now know that marriage, and the way He made them at the beginning, He, the Lord, who made them in the beginning, He didn't make a mistake by making them male and female. He didn't make a mistake what He made them to be. He was intentional about it.

He took time about it. He thought it through by Himself, and He took responsibility to do it by Himself. And because everything that God does is perfect, is good, nothing can be added to it, nothing can be removed from it.

It is very important that we know that He, that made them in the beginning, He made them male and female. In the morning, we simply brush about that on a general note. But this evening, I think we are going to pick it up, and pick that He which made them at the beginning, He made them male and female, not male and male, not female and female.

Thank God that the Orion cast, and the Charles, they have responded to something that we have been talking about over time, and it's coming up in all our meetings and discussions, and when the Ubudos were talking about communication, they also had to recognize this, and they have alluded to it and referred us to look at those issues. But now, we need to discuss, what is the reason, why at the beginning, He made them male and female? Why was He not another male, that God went and produced? Why was it not another female, that God was bringing this woman to? Because we are not bothered about what others are talking about, it's not our business here to be talking about gay marriage, to be talking about same-sex marriages, we know that all of that, is the agenda of the Antichrist. All of that is the devastation of the human nature, that is pointing towards a destructive end.

We are not going to waste our time on that, because they are not here. Praise the Lord. I know that all of you that are sitting in this meeting, you are male and female, am I right? So, I couldn't waste the time I have here with you, talking about that.

When we have a different forum to deal with that, we will be talking about what it is all about. But here, God, that made them in the beginning, made them male and female. So, Sister Sade, you would like to open up on that, so that before we now pick up, to go now to what is the purpose of the male and female, what is their, why did God do it? We want to discuss that, and then we build up on this.

Yes, Ma'am. We read in the morning from the book of Genesis, and we saw that what God determined to do right from the beginning was to create a help meet for the man. And in making that help, he did not go to make something outside him.

He did not start from the scratch to make another man, another male. He put the man to sleep and took a rib from that man, and with that rib, he made the female, he made the woman. And even from the name he called them, male and female, it is very clear that the male is different from the fee of male.

The male is different. Even from there, from that scripture, you can see from their name, the male is different from the fee of male. And why the difference? It is because the bone he took from the male is no longer in the male.

That bone is now absent from the male, but it is the bone that he used to make the female. So that is what made the difference. The bone is no longer in the male, but is now in the female, so that the female will now contribute it back to the male, and the two of them will become one flesh.

Unfortunately, the people did not understand that that difference between the two was deliberate, and is understandable, because God took something out of the man and located it in the woman. So the difference is understandable. But what God is expecting is that the woman will now contribute it back.

That different thing, that thing that makes her different from her husband, she will now put it back, and there will be a whole man, a wholesome man. So the difference is meant to be complementary. It is meant to be a help for the man.

It is not meant to bring divorce. They were thinking, maybe some of them would have said, when Jesus said he made them male and female, why did he not make them male and male? Is that difference that is making us not to understand ourselves? They got it wrong. They got it wrong, because that difference came because God removed something from the man and located it in the woman, and God is expecting that she will put it back, she will contribute it back onto the woman.

Which means, whatever differences we are seeing in ourselves, and there are many, we are going to be talking, giving examples. Whatever differences we are seeing between ourselves as the man and the wife, this difference was because God took something and located it somewhere. He took something from the man and located it in the woman.

It is not supposed to be a basis for criticizing each other, for insulting one another. It is not meant to be a basis for quarreling. It is meant to be a basis for complementary purposes, for helping the man.

Maybe I should stop there first. Thank you very much. Am I on? Yes.

Now, this is a very serious aspect of an understanding that we must catch so that our matrimony, according to the design, may bring out its full import, its full result. Let me pick it up from where she has stopped now. Now, please, let's turn back to that passage, Matthew 19.

Once she has taken us now, we are going back to Genesis 2. I would like all of you to please open the Bible to Genesis 2. All of us, in all centers, please open Genesis 2. Let us have a general understanding first of what God did so that we can come on this much more. Now, in Genesis 2, the Bible gave us the process that God took. I would like to read verse 18.

And I would like to read verse 21. And I would like us to read verse 22. Let's quickly follow it together.

And the Lord God said, it is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him and help meet his needs for him. When we come to deal with that, we will draw issues.

But it is important that what God said is very critical for us to have an understanding. And I wish we can put it together now. The Lord God said, I will make him.

I will make for him a help meet, a help that is fitting, a help that is suitable, a help that is adaptable to him. I want to make for him what is for him. I want to make for him what is uniquely fitting for him.

I am not looking for something that we are going to be struggling for him to use that will give him trouble. That is the first matter that is leading us to this male and female. Now, when God had taken that decision, how was God going to do it? That took us to verse 21.

You know I've drawn verse 19, I've drawn verse 20, because as far as the word of God is concerned, and you have done that in the Bible study, there was no other person, no other thing, no other creature that could fit him. Actually, the Bible said, there was no found and help meet for him. Nothing anywhere else can fit this man.

Nothing, nothing else. I don't know whether I'm over emphasizing that. Somehow I want to say as strongly as I can that in all over the world, in any and everything else, you will not find any help that is fitting for your life apart from this one that God had decided to make for you.

You will not be able to locate any other help that is meet, that is designed, that is focused, that is unique for your life and for all that you need to become apart from this that God decided to do. And this must be a very critical understanding because when I come now back to that verse 5 that Jesus now introduced and said, for this reason, I will come back to it. I will tell you that there's a reason.

There's a reason why I have to cleave to my wife. There's a reason why I have to leave everything else and focus and cleave and hold tightly. Thank you, Mama.

There's a reason and the reason is what we are getting into now. The Bible said, they check everywhere and there is none found to be a help made for him. Then God took a decision and the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept.

That we are going to talk about later on when we begin to look at the practicality of building our relationship. We are going to pick all of those but we are not first dealing with those nitty gritty now. We are dealing with what is the issue.

When God put that man to sleep the Lord took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh thereof. And when she was saying that what that meant is the fact that on the outside on the outside God covered everything with the flesh. So nobody can ever even know that there is a need or there is a loophole in your life while you are single.

But as long as God has not yet brought that woman back there is a deficiency. There is something that you need that has been taken out. So what is deficient in the man? The Bible now says and the rib I am very particular about the way scripture put it.

And the rib which rib? Can you read that passage now as you are seeing on the screen? Which rib? Which the Lord the Lord God had taken from man. What God had taken from man that's what God went now and made a woman and brought her unto the man. What does that actually mean? This female that God has has brought to your life honestly speaking she is the embodiment of the rib that God had taken from you.

But instead of bringing back the empty dry rib He has embodied it. He has packaged it. He has added everything that you will need, added it.

But added it only basically on that rib. So if I were to say it in the way I love to say it she is your size. She is the completion the completion of you.

she is the one that when she comes back she comes back to make the wholesome the complete the competent personality that God was working at. So when we say the male and female you know I don't know but I wish you will understand that this language has gone into science. When you when you get an electrician now or you get electronic engineers and if I ask them now to come and explain you hear them say the male and the female of the wire.

Are you hearing me at all? And as far as they are concerned the positive and the negative, they even have color codes that they have put in it. But I used to be overwhelmed when I looked at them, I said, Kai, look at science trying to mimic God. Can I tell you how they do it? The positive and the negative, they call it the male and female.

But for it not to cause problems there is a neutral. Am I communicating? There is the one that stands in between them that does not allow them to jam but for them to compliment and to cause power to flow. And I kept looking at that neutral.

That's him. That's him. Between me and my wife that's him who makes everything to work well.

You go to electronics there is no no equipment that was made that they don't follow that process. But I just knew that they have only tried to pick a little insight into what God has done. He who made them in the beginning how did he make them? Male and female.

Now in our case we are discovering that what was absent what has become absent in the man, in the male where is it? It's now in the woman. What was deficient in the man where is it now? It's sufficiently put and packaged in the woman. Now let's note that God was not bringing duplicates.

So whenever you look at your wife you will see that if you are looking very well your wife is expert in those things that you don't know how to do. Have you ever noticed that? Your wife is very very sufficiently endowed in that aspect that no matter how you tried it's deficient in you. Why did God do that? Why did God create a socket and a plug? You know that every time if and that's what all these electricians are talking about there has to be a plug that goes into the socket.

You will know that the socket by its own virtue of the way they do the connection the socket is there to receive what the plug can bring in. But the socket usually is usually more more robust. It's always more established.

And what the plug comes in is actually just to tap something from that socket or contribute something. I'm sensing God is saying in my design what I am doing is that the man that I have created to serve my purpose is one that I'm looking at one person. For this one person for it to be complete for it to fulfill my purpose I am bringing in the female of it.

And so that scripture says and the rib which the Lord took from man he made a woman. Now and we said in the morning that we are not talking of physical bones here. I hope you understand now.

We are not talking of physiological medical, scientific thing and say she has nine ribs I have seven. No. That's not how God did it.

That's not the issue. We are talking of a principle that God deliberately made and one of the things we are going to explore because after this talk now we are going to have corpus discussion and today's corpus discussion we are going to pick all that we have said since morning. Our individual quiet time and communion with God.

How not to lose it because without it we won't be able to provide this socket and plug. When we go to our group discussion we are going to be honestly discussing and I want you to be free to discuss and say now what are the areas of my life as a man that is deficient compared with what my wife carries. I was excited when I was listening to I have known them, they have been with me for years and I know that thing and I realize that that which Yinka carries if she does not contribute it to Amos Amos will run everywhere because to him everything should just happen now but she carries that thing that brings details definiteness she is asking but this has not been done I think we need to put this here when the thing begins to enter you not see a wholesome corpus you not see something beautiful something beautiful coming out that gives us joy every time we look at this corpus and say oh praise the lord something has broken forth here a work is going to be completely done now my brother the leap that God took and I think maybe we need to sit down together tonight and honestly under God we pray together and then begin to discuss because the discussion started with Adam when Adam now said this is now bone of my bones please take note that he did not use the word with the word in Genesis chapter 2 is not with is not that you are with me what was the word in Genesis chapter 2 you are off mom can you explain what that means medically don't forget to use your mic yes it means you are part of me you came out of me we are one we are of the same stock we are of the same make we are of the same stock you are brought out of me I see what I am seeing what I am seeing her what I am seeing in my wife now it is not something different from me it is not something that is brought somewhere else that we have to adjust I pray that this will be clear it is not as if this is of a different species and this is a different stock me, I am of a different stock we are just trying to see whether they will combine you are bone of my bones this thing I am seeing from here is actually me extended here and what she is seeing here in my life is actually what she is part of so right from the beginning that understanding did not allow them to see themselves as belonging to different things she is of bone of my bones flesh of my flesh when she was leading us in prayer in the morning she quickly went to chapter 3 and said Genesis chapter 3 marriage is different from what we saw in Genesis 2 in Genesis 3 when they fall at second place when the two of them have fallen when the life of God in their lives has been quenched the man has said the woman whom you gave to be with me she and you know at the end of that chapter they changed their name the man said no we will not call you woman again let everybody have her name what was the name Adam gave his wife Eve Eve was not her name in the beginning and God did not call her Eve what did God call her woman and when God made them male and female what did God call the two of them Adam when I hear people say Adam and Eve Adam and Eve that was something that now happened after they fall it is not Adam and Eve at the beginning what was it at the beginning Adam if you want to differentiate Adam man Adam woman am I communicating with you they are all Adam so when you meet this you meet Adam I met Adam which Adam, Adam woman and I just met Adam, Adam man the two of them one name the two of them one account the two of them one destiny the two of them one life so the Bible said in that particular portion before we will leave it and Adam said this and all of you please note the word this, this not these hallelujah and not that if you use the word that where does your hand point to something out there in fact when you use the word the when you say the woman what does that also deal with is pointing at something outside but when you use the word this is it possible for you to use the word this without touching what you are talking about please talk to me every time you say this did you notice that your hand pinpoints it is particular this so when the man began to say this he was being particular he was pointed and he was talking about something that is within there that is of him this is the bone of my bones and the flesh of my flesh she shall be called woman because she was taken out of man therefore therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife and the two of them shall become what one flesh so if I take you quickly now back because I didn't want to go to the next point before we go back to our Matthew chapter 19 let's go back to Matthew 19 and then see what is the connection then we can pick our discussion from there you want to read verse 5 now yes Matthew 19 5 and said for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh one flesh we are praying that this concept this desire of God that when I have now left my father and mother and I am now joined and cleaving to my wife we become one not two, not two people again but one flesh one flesh being expressed through the woman and through the man one flesh being encountered in her and in me one flesh that is operating and bringing forth the purpose of God so can I now quickly stop at that point before sister Sade will come along that as far as God is concerned this male and female they don't operate separately praise the Lord they don't operate as they are not individualistic though they are individuals in terms of sex, man, woman that God brought out but in terms of their lives in terms of their operation in terms of the outcome of their of their work together they work together to produce one result and unless they work together what this does individual what I do individual without togetherness remains totally incomplete no matter how competent I appear to be without her I am completely incomplete I may look intelligent but that intelligence is incomplete I may look energetic but that energy is an incomplete energy producing incomplete results I may be very prayerful and I thank God for what we learnt in the morning Abraham was a great man of God but will Abraham arrive anywhere until Sarah contributed please talk to me Abraham would have messed up if God did not give Sarah strength to conceive therefore they sprang out of one who was actually dead and I was taught that that conclusion was only possible because Sarah was there to contribute her portion I want to stop on that so that we can push if we can push a little further tonight that male and female he made them and he made them in such a way that the completion hallelujah the completion of the man is the woman please tell your wife my completion is you I may be highly competent I may be wonderfully intelligent but without you I am honestly incomplete is that so she also said without me she is incomplete that is the truth when we get to talk together I want us to talk it seriously and I want you to begin to identify in an atmosphere not of argument in an atmosphere of recognition wives please let your husband know that you know that there are many things that you will never have done well if he is not there and husbands you must allow your wife to hear you in a very clear manner today that having explored your powers having checked your competencies you have come now to recognize that there is an incompleteness until she had come in to contribute it without that so when God said for this reason there is a reason for me to leave my father and my mother and if I'm leaving my father and my mother what am I doing with any other person than to cleave to the woman that carries the bone of my bones I'm praying that this meeting this meeting this meeting will push you to an understanding that you didn't marry your wife just to quarrel you didn't marry your wife just to be struggling about she does this I do this no you are married you are married in order for completion you know when I read the bible please permit me to read one passage before you come in can you all with me go to Ephesians chapter 1 Ephesians chapter 1 where the bible was pointing it was pointing at Jesus whose marriage to the church is what our marriage is meant to illustrate Ephesians chapter 1 all of you please look at Ephesians 1 it humbles me and it makes me to now recognize what am I that I will be refusing the completion that Mr. Shady must bring to my life who am I look at the bible the bible says and I want us to read it if somebody has good news you will flash it out for us or you have good news mom ok I'll read here he said I'm reading from verse 20 which he wrought in Christ whom when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world but also in that which is to come and has put all things all of you are you following now he has put all things under his feet and has given him he gave him to be the head over all things to the church are we together he gave Jesus to be the head over all things to the church just as God is saying I am the head to sister Shady here but now look at that verse 23 now says which the church which is his body the fullness of him that fills all in all please read it from good news please check good news for us you are reading verse 22 and 23 only God put all things under Christ's feet and gave him to the church as supreme lord over all things the church is Christ's body you see the church is Christ's body the completion of him who himself completes all things everywhere did you understand that the church is Christ's body please don't remove that thing put it on so that the brethren can see it they have been seeing my face let them see this the church is Christ's body the completion of him of who? of Christ who himself completes all things everywhere which means this Jesus that completes all things everywhere himself is incomplete until who completes him? the church my God am I communicating with you now you may be powerful you may look as if you can fill all things in all things but you you are waiting to be filled to be completed and who is going to complete this man? who will complete this man? it is this woman I am now hoping I have been praying that let me not be passing incomplete things to the people that God wants me to minister to because I need to be what? be completed is there any other version that you can help us check about that Bible verse is anybody carrying Philist modern English Larry do you have any version like that and you want to read for me please read Philips modern English God has placed everything under the power of Christ and has set him up as the head of everything for the church for the church is his body and in that body lives fully the one who fills the whole wide universe it is in Christ's body that the fullness of Christ who will fill everything actually dwells I am praying I thought I should bring this thought to this point before we go on that it is not it is not wrong for you to recognize that all that I need to do in life stands incomplete until this woman completes me she is the completion and I wonder why completion as if that which was taken out of me that makes me incomplete is here so you know I found that if I am going to write a book this is my practical understanding I have prayed and nothing is flowing like water and utterance is running I am writing, writing, writing when I give it to other people they don't see the problem they say this is great that is what they say but when I bring it to my wife I have to understand it because it used to bother me before what no one else saw as omissions as incompleteness she quickly begins she just comes with her pencil she just the paragraph that I told was perfect I will suddenly see all the imperfection in that paragraph at first I said no you don't understand very soon I understood that I am the one who actually don't understand that she has something inside that only herself can contribute this is not to discredit all other brothers and sisters that help me they help me only when she has finished her work and so I have understood that if I am going to be wholesome if the message I am preaching is going to be complete if my influence on people is going to be total we must do it together she must complete this man who God wants to use to bring help to others am I communicating with any of you here are you hearing me at all or am I going too far I pray that you will not disdain the help that God has made for you now you can please push from that point if there is something that we should push before we will turn the meeting to prayer this night I have come to the point of because living to my wife is not just because I love her even if I don't love her what completes me is where? is in her it is only correct for me to love part of me that will complete all that I need to do in life is only normal I would be unreasonable to hate what I needed most the devil would have I would have been bedeviled to look away from what will complete my life I don't want to enter heaven and say we posted to your life to make your ministry your life complete and wholesome but you ignored it and you are coming here now self damaged the thing we wanted to do well because you think you can do it alone you can do it alone you have now come with uncompleted jobs you work hard but it is incomplete it is not good I don't want that I am praying, I have been praying, I am still praying everything that Sade must contribute to bring wholesome to this life to what God is saying we must do she must contribute it and I don't want to miss it and I am begging all of you, husband and wife go back home and collect become the socket that this woman can plug in so that we can collect everything thank you it is a grave responsibility but I would like to also say to the wives that if the man is incomplete until the woman supplies what God has put in her how much more the woman the woman, the wife is thoroughly, seriously incomplete because she is just one bone out of the many bones where are the remaining bones inside the man so I don't also want to arrive at the shores of heaven with all the strength and intelligence that God has given me and God will say, welcome only one bone where are the other bones all that you have done is incomplete that's why women who neglect their husbands to go and do their own thing and the man has no say no contribution no leadership role in it you are doing an incomplete job and it will not receive heaven's commendation we must do it together even me, I have learned that lesson there is nothing as far as God has given me understanding both of us we know nothing, nothing I can do that will come out if he has not contributed the many bones that remain into my life even if I'm going to preach somewhere I won't go until he contributes it because what am I going to be saying there only one bone message even if it is to put his hands on me and pray for me I want to receive the many bones which I lack so that whatever I will do there will be wholesome it's vice versa and it's very crucial for us to recognize this and when that scripture chapter 12 verse 5 we have reached verse 5 now it says for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh this again spells out the primary purpose of God for marriage we are talking about the purpose of God maybe by tomorrow we will reach there or the day after in our bible study the purpose of God for marriage both the general and the specific but this one that God is talking about is primary all other purposes are secondary the reason the two shall be joined together is to become one flesh it is only when a man and his wife have worked together to be joined together that they become one flesh that they can do anything for God on the face of the earth and it will be effective I hope you are understanding me he is energetic he is very intelligent he is very competent but there remains that completeness but the completeness will not happen until the two of them become one it is not just dashing him that is not it there must be oneness it is only as they have become one flesh that whatever they now do can be acceptable it was the book of Genesis that illustrates this very well when the people of the earth began to build the tower of Babel I hope you remember that story in Genesis chapter 11 verse 6 maybe 5 and 6 but the Lord God came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built and the Lord said indeed the people are one and they all have one language and this is what they begin to do now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them now that they are one the work will prosper now that they are one there is nothing they propose to do that will be withheld from them even God will not withhold it even though what these people were doing were the wrong thing even the husband and wife joined together and they become one in doing the wrong thing it will not be withheld from them and oh if they now begin to do the right thing the purpose of God to now put their hands together to do it as one it shall not be withheld from them this is primary for us to work towards our oneness is the primary purpose of God because then whatever the two of you propose to do shall not be withheld from you it was in the book of Psalms that the Bible says behold how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity how blessed it is the blessedness pronounced even at the beginning will come on the husband and wife who dwell together in unity will be tied the husband and wife that are divided there is no blessing for them from the Lord so when he says and the two shall become one flesh I want you to know that even though at the altar during wedding you have been pronounced one husband and wife you are one but now you are one truly you are one but you shall become one are you seeing the beauty of the scriptures the scripture says and they shall become one flesh which means it is something that you have to work at to become one our brother talked over the issue of communication that is one instrument for us to become one we must learn to work towards it because you won't achieve anything for God unless you are one so oneness is the primary purpose of God for marriage it is only a couple that are one and they are growing in their oneness that will be able to fulfill God's purpose for their lives and nothing that they propose to do shall be withheld from them may the Lord help us to understand this and to work at it and lay down put down your sword against each other because your eternity will be affected if you continue divided lay down your sword work towards your oneness then nothing that the two of you lay your hands to do shall be withheld from you may the Lord help us in Jesus name now this is where we are going to stop for tonight so that we can now take it up please let me note that when you are only passive let him be doing his own I'm not quarreling with him but we are not compatible that language must stop here tonight you can't be doing your own you are not meant to do your own and the two of them shall become one flesh and Jesus now concluded in verse 6 we read that verse 6 so then they are no longer two, they are no more two but one flesh therefore what God has joined together let not man you see when we started to look as if we are talking of divorce, divorce, divorce, no Jesus took it now to the point and said look what God has joined together you are no more two, you are one flesh you can't be separating you see you cannot be working differently you can't be putting yourself aside and say go and do your own and leave me alone she can't leave you alone if you are going to accomplish anything in life so we are going to pray and we deliberately decided that this will end earlier so that you can go now as couples you are going to sit together we call it couples discussion and you are going to look at all the issues this discussion is not another preaching at your wife or preaching at your husband it is a looking in and say in this aspect that I saw today I have not seen it like this before and I look at our 10 years of marriage look at our 20 years of marriage I have been I am literally on my own I want you to please forgive me we have wasted what we could have done for God say if two of you shall agree as touching anything they will ask on us you can imagine how we have hardly agreed on anything serious how we have hardly sat down and said me and you what are we to agree to do with this and you hold your life together and say God this must happen in our generation we are asking you to do it so as we go to God in prayer and we will take any space where you can be just yourself husband and wife alone we call it couples discussion the reason why we did not want this meeting just to be put online somebody asked me I said it is not on the YouTube we said no it is not a YouTube matter we are sitting together because we want God to do something with us we are not just looking for more information so we are going now to sit together now this sitting together the first 20 or 30 minutes whatever is convenient is to pray I want you to pray with yourself God our marriage must serve your purpose Satan must suffer damage because of your marriage by the grace of God the kingdom of God must have a profit because the two of you have been put together the male and female to exercise the divine purpose of God it must happen so we are going to pray now and then we will release you we are going to be couples together discussing and by the time we have we are going to have up to about 8 p.m. to do this if the spirit of God decides to take you more than that no problem but let something begin tonight let's talk, let's take it to God in prayer shall we do that? shall we do that please from center to center let's pray we would like to pray with you before we let you go let's pray together our father in heaven we stand together as your servants even yes you told us that if two of us shall agree as touching anything we will ask and we want to ask you tonight for the couples that are gathered all over from nation to nation and even within a nation like a nation like Nigeria see where you have gathered us this evening oh God this matter that is very topamos on your heart that it shall become one flesh we want you to visit us tonight Lord as our brothers and sisters as our brothers and sisters will begin to pray together as husband and wife visit them do something in their midst like never before bond their spirit together whatever it is that stood in between melt it we are praying oh God that a deep yearning will rise in the hearts of husband for their wives in the heart of the wives for their husband this bone will come to join the bones this flesh will become one by every means and Lord they will begin to do exploit for you the reason why you brought us together for this number of years we will walk into it and so father the enemy of marriage is the devil we rebuke you here tonight in the name of Jesus the serpent that crept into their midst in Genesis 3 that set them at loggerhead against each other this night as the word of God came again your head shall be bruised these couples will be victorious they will rise unto their destinies in the name of Jesus Christ all that concerns them from tonight let the heavens be opened we ask let the heavens be opened you say whatever they will agree upon asking you tonight Father sign it into action by your mighty hand in the name of Jesus thank you for hearing us thank you in Jesus Christ name we have prayed Amen Amen
