Your Prayers Requested
Ignatius requests prayer support from the congregation to attain to God and to have the Church in Syria deemed worthy of being edified in Christ.
Ignatius of Antioch urges the believers to remember him in their prayers as he desires to attain to God. He humbly acknowledges his unworthiness to be called bishop of the Church in Syria and emphasizes the importance of unity in prayer and love among believers for the edification of the Church in Christ.

Knowing as I do that ye are full of all good, I have but briefly exhorted you in the love of Jesus Christ. Be mindful of me in your prayers, that I may attain to God; and of the Church which is in Syria, of whom I am not worthy to be called bishop. For I stand in need of your united prayer in God, and of your love, that the Church which is in Syria may be deemed worthy, by your good order, of being edified in Christ.
