Michael Koulianos emphasizes that a genuine life with God requires consistent secret prayer and intimate dwelling with Jesus, not just occasional public moments.
This sermon emphasizes the importance of prayer and spending time with Jesus, highlighting the need for genuine connection and intimacy with God. It challenges the notion that one can claim to abide under the shadow of the Almighty without investing time in prayer and seeking God in secret. The sermon addresses the misconception that casual interactions with Jesus can replace deep, personal communion with Him.

Most people who don't pray, listen carefully, claim the second line of verse one. I abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I don't need to spend time with Jesus a lot.
I am always in prayer. Liar. Impossible.
If the Bible's true, that's impossible. Because secret dwelling precedes abiding. You can't just spend Tuesday at the coffee shop with Jesus if you didn't spend Tuesday morning in your bedroom with Jesus.
It doesn't work that way.
