(In the Word) 14 - Healing (Continued) the Word in the Church

When anyone receives revelation in the Word of God, it sometimes conflicts with what he has previously been taught. This causes you to have to deal with old traditions or wrong teaching. These tapes may contain some new light from God's Word, and it may be opposed to some traditions you have previously learned.

Therefore, follow through these messages in your Bible, in sequence, in order that you may be able to make a choice for the Word of God rather than the traditions of men. This is tape number 14 in a series. We urge you to listen to all the tapes in the series in numerical order, so that the whole teaching can be received and understood.

Listening to a part of this series, or to the tapes out of sequence, can lead to a misunderstanding of the nature, the intent, and the importance of this series. Turn to Psalm 107. I'm telling you, there's a lot to say about pre-cutters in here.

Psalm 107. This sin has anything to do with sickness, aren't we? We won't miss nothing, would we? Because if these demons we read about bring sickness to your body, I want you to know they're getting there through sin. Now, watch very carefully what I'm fixing to say.

I did not say that I can't prove that every sickness that comes into somebody's body is caused by a demon. But every time that exactly what, the only thing I know that just about everything I've dealt with to know one another, one way or another, it has been that way. So now, this ought to free you up to kind of look at your Bible right here and see what your Bible says.

Now, this is what you're supposed to be receiving, right? Okay. Now, Psalm 107 verse 10. There were those who dwelt in what? Now, when you're in darkness, you know where you are? You're in the shadow of what? Now, that means you're in the presence of death.

What is that? When you're in the shadow of the Almighty, you're in the presence of the Lord. We've already seen you get in the presence of the Lord by having good soil. Isn't that right? Dealing with sin.

Isn't that right? What we saw in James 4, 6. Now, when you're in the shadow of death, that's the opposite from being in the shadow of life. Isn't that right? The Lord. Okay.

Now, there were those there in darkness, in the shadow of death. Now, here it is. When you're in darkness, you're prisoners.

And you are in misery and change. I mean, it's coming against your body. It's coming against your mind, will, and emotions, which is your soul.

Isn't that right? I can't hear you. Oh, it's getting good. Now, verse 11.

Here's the reason it's this way. Because the people are in darkness, in the shadow of death, and prisoners of misery have rebelled against what? They're in rebellion to God. Is that plain? They're in rebellion to God and have spurned the counsel of the Holy Spirit of the Most High.

Is that right? Is that what your Bible says? All right, furthermore, it says in verse 17 that they're fools. Because of their, what kind of way? They're rebellious to the Word of God and direction of God. And because of their sins, they are being, what? Afflicted with this misery and, and change.

Amen. And then, verse 19, some do, most don't, and then they, what? Cried out, you can write there, repented. That means that they cried out to the Lord in their trouble.

They repented. They turned from their wicked ways. God sits on the throne of grace.

And then He saved them out of their, what? Remember the word distress is right there. Now, distress is, it's when the Lord used it many times. You're talking about when He controlled the powers of darkness.

And then, verse 20, He sent some folks and healed them. He sent His Word and healed them. Healed them, that's the reason you got so excited when you see revelation and things and what? It's the most exciting thing you'll ever want, for God to give you revelation and grace about His Word.

He sent His Word and healed them and He delivered them from their destructions, didn't He? Well, let's look in 22. We, we, we don't want no one to ever know about this, that we had this problem with these prisoners, the prisoners of demons, do we? We don't want to spread some else get free. 22.

Let them also offer sacrifices at Thanksgiving and what? Tell of his works with joyful sin. Didn't say forget his works, did he? Didn't say keep them a secret, did he? You know, what is it keeps you from telling the works of Jesus? You're ashamed of him. You're ashamed of the Lord when you won't talk about the works in the Bible.

You're ashamed. I've got a little secret for you. He's ashamed of you, too.

You're in trouble. Ashamed of him. All right, do you ever, you ever see, Pastor, I know you have you, you'll hear him say, you know, we must almost win over.

We just, boy, we just almost went over. Yeah, we just almost went over this time in revival. Boy, we just got two years ago.

We just almost went over. You're not going over, go over until you get rid of them. You ever see somebody just up to the ceiling one day and the next moment they're right there down on the carpet, right? Here they are on verse 26.

They rose up to the heavens and then they go down to the depths. Now their soul, that's your mind, wills, and emotion, melted away and they're what? Misery. They reeled and staggered like a what? Look at me.

They're stumbling around in spiritual darkness because they can't find a way of peace. Amen? They're stumbling and staggering. Their mind, will, and emotions are being tore up.

And they were at their what? With sin. And then they what? Cried. Circle cried means they repented.

What they need to do is deal with sin. Are you seeing this, folks? Stiff-necked and stubborn and proud people don't deal with sin. God needs them instead of them needing God.

They don't humble themselves. So God resists the proud and gives grace to who? A humble man cries out. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble.

He brought them out of their what? Now I told you distresses is when the powers of the darkness have got control there and then he calls the what to be still. What is a storm? That's them. He calls this storm to be and the waves of the sea were what? Now what are the when you say the waves of the sea were hushed? Look at me.

The waves of the sea are words. Words. Now, now, now, let me ask you something.

You remember over in Ephesians 4, it warns you don't be tossed about by doctrines, winds, words of doctrine here. Huh? Waves? Huh? Don't be tossed about by words of doctrine. Be tossed about by the word.

He calls the storm to be still so that the waves of the sea were hushed. And then when he's hushed, what does that mean? They've received peace. Look at there.

It is in 30. Then they were glad because they what? They're quiet now. He guided them.

They're what? Desired. Hey, which is peace one lady one time up there at Grayson You know, I cast the demons out of this lady right there and she sit there in such amazement She said I didn't know until now that my whole life has been just like sitting under a train trestle With a train passing over and it's just now all come over because peace she didn't have any idea She you know, we get pro we have to live with all her ear ringing and all these things going on say We're supposed to live that way after all God can't do anything All right, so it is when they receive peace they got set free 31 Let's keep it a big secret Let him give thanks to the Lord for his loving kinds for its wonder to sign a man. Let take soul him where? In a congregation of people and praise him at the seat of the elder now see I won't tell you something when you can't talk About the works of God in your church.

He's out there knocking on the door Now that's traditions If you fell down get back up again It's good not to be a misery in chains All right, I'm just going to just mention these right here I don't want you to turn to him in John 14 if Jesus found a man as a John in New Testament Jesus found a man in the temple instead of you become well do not sin any more or less the worst thing happened to you Is that plain I? Think we ought to cut that out because wouldn't want to offend anybody wouldn't we? Jesus went on in Matthew 9 2 and 5 Jesus said which is either say your sins be given you or take up your pallet walk It's the same thing, huh? Let's cut that one out. Tell you want to We don't want to offend any words or wise and intelligent things Hebrews 12 It's 9 through 13 is good. You'll go back over You know said make straights can be healed that means you you line yourself up the Word of God and covenant of God you be healed Now I'll ask you something.

How can we expect God to heal us if we break his conditions we reject his conditions break his laws But he just doesn't do it That's why we've been deceived see healing is part of the word of the work of the church and the church is who the Lord God has given authority over all the works of the devil. It's been given to the church that the church walks in covenant though The church has this Jesus right here the church has this gospel right here the church walks in this righteousness Right here. Amen so Once again, I'll just ask you how can God heal us if we'll not obey him and resist the devil If you don't resist the devil way, you think it does it runs right over the top of you.

Amen But sure it does now. I've got a book right here That has hundreds of promises in it this book right here Joji if you'll meet the condition and Live up to the promise Anything and everything and this book is yours, I don't say that again. It's a series of robot catalog if you'll meet the condition And live up the promise you can have anything or everything in this book is bedspreads Lamps curtains garage doors pots and pans Cameras tires Clothes Hundreds of promises If you'll meet the condition Have a good credit or cash And live up the promise make you pave it anything in this book or everything in it cheers There's an interesting thing about this book This book is full of things that you need for your cart to live in this world. That's another interesting thing about this book Everything in this book. I can see I can smell I can taste and I can hear and I can feel As a matter of fact, I have a lot of needs in this book in this life But there's another side of this Man, the things in this book can get my heart and be idols because I can become proud I can either see smell taste hear feel everything in this book This is a natural book.

I Have another book up here if you meet the conditions And live up to the promises Anything and everything is in this book It's yours. If you made the condition live up the promise everything in this book is yours. This is the Word of God.

I cannot see I Cannot smell taste hear our feel The things in this book because this is a spiritual book. I have to receive everything in this book By faith, I have to receive it without seeing it. I have to receive it without smelling it I have to receive it without tasting it.

I have to receive it without hearing it. I have to receive it without feeling now This has to do With receiving the things that God says and his word, you know over there was reading He's a covenant is you do this. I'll do that.

You do this. I do this. Here's where you're gonna walk Here's where I'm gonna walk, but people like to analyze and speculate just see what God has to do for them They're not looking in there and see what they have to do Amen Unrighteous people are not looking at yourself.

They're looking somewhere else. Amen Because their hearts are somewhere else But you may condition and live up the promise And everything in this book here. Well, you know over in James 14 and 15 Didn't it tell you that if? that when you're sick You want let's let's turn over to around James 5, let's turn over there There's some promises there, isn't it? Just like that series wrote about catalog.

Yeah, there's a lot of promises in there, doesn't it? Huh? Amen. All right. Now it says right there if you're sick called for the elders of the church, let him pray Oh, but he said no I'm dogs Now I've said if you don't go Duck yourself and Dallas Creek seven times.

Well, then that's what you're supposed to go do, you know, it builds a Dallas Creek God said do it, right? So you don't add to or take away do what God says you want to be healed And so then we'd see in verse 15 that you will be restored Now wasn't it real interesting that we don't have to go back over it back over James 4 before you get to Well, you know back in James 1 said the double-minded man's not gonna receive anything from God So it might use a whole lot of oil and somebody you know It doesn't sound like he's going to get too much there does it and healing matter of fact, he might die now Another thing is that we looked in some things about jealousy that your prayers are not answered in in for right there Because you want your motives are wrong. Is that right that your adulterous your prayers not answered? We also see and and James 4 right there that how to have good soul to get right before God And so you're going on to yourself. You're going to start resisting a devil.

You're going to submit to the God You're going to praise the Lord and one of the things that said you're going to cleanse your hands you sinners After it said all the things that you're doing wrong before God You're going to cleanse your hand you said it and you're going to purify your heart get it single Before the Lord you don't do that unless you deal with sin And then when you deal with sin, you know You come into brooks's and that way you come in the presence of God you deal with that sin before you get over to deal with righteous man praying for someone else just a righteous man's going to do that and then particularly the people who come and Deal with sin and repentance and brokenness for the Lord to be healed. Is that right to humble himself before the Lord? Well, it sounds like a deal with sin We've been seeing a lot of scripture deal with sin before healing Jesus, you know in Psalms 103, you know, we looked at two and three. He said he forgives all your nexus then he heals all your diseases, right? We also say that in 1st Peter 2 24 and you know, it says that you die to sin Live to write you walking in the word walking right in God's name and then by stripes you're healed as and you were healed in That right.

That's covenant died of sin and walking rises. That's a man of word James 4 8 told us right here. We just saw cleanse your hand you sinners and then After you deal with sin Let's look there in verse 16 It says deal with sin and then you can be healed.

That's what you see over and over and over and over So I always wonder what 16 says so 16 saying Therefore go ahead and confess your sins. Go ahead and do it deal with it To one another and pray for one another pray for the healing deal with the sin and go ahead and know it with all and pray for one another so that You can be healed And see how 16 sounds like you put they put that in there All right. Well, let's start back.

I don't know Let's start back in 14 So you see what I'm saying if anyone among you sick let him call for the elders of the church Let him pray over him anointed with oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer offered in faith Will restore the one his sick and the Lord will raise him up. He's committed these sins They will be forgiven, but you see you're dealing with the sins. You're having a good soul You're confessing you sin to one another therefore said the Lord is saying in verse 16 If you want to be healed confess your sins to one another and pray for one another Go ahead and pray for one another so that you might be healed because when you're doing these kind of things You're a righteous man and the rectific prayer of a righteous man is one that accomplishes much Amen because a righteous man is walking right in God's eyes.

He's not staggering like we saw over in in in James 4 where he's wanting to Cast all these on his pleasures now I Come to a place where I'm wanting to I don't want you to turn that up there yet Now I'm going to I shared this what I shared with you just about Well, I shared all of James and I came to that place one time and Lord give me one of the greatest revelations But him I had just sat down, you know, how's God just show you something like that and I'm fixing to relate this thing to you about Sin Because your Bible to relating sickness and town I don't care what somebody else is saying you've been reading it out of your Bible. That's how sin and sickness are tied together, right? Okay, I recommend the word Now I'm going to show you how this works. Let's just say I've dealt with situations where I was able to tell and Where people like cancer that's that's one of the most Common and most, you know Cancer, let's just say a person has cancer and they want to be healed that cancer Let's say that cancer has got in there Because of sin all right now I Want you to know and I want you to understand that there is a demon that specializes in cancer There's a demon that cancer that specialize in tumor.

There are two different demons How many of you already knew that hold up your hand already dealt with it? Well, keep your hands up. I just like to say I just like to see who's dealing with these things. All right That's a bunch of you.

It's spreading Now folks don't tell you something if you've got some kind of a sickness Please don't be offended by the Word of God because what I'm speaking to you right now is the Word of God check it out in the word and See what we saying is in the word. Don't be Offended because your tradition told you something. I've been reading the Bible to you.

Amen Now I've been sick There's a lot of folks in here sick But you're not supposed to be offended Check out what that is. It rise up in you and offend you. Amen Okay so he comes up and Boy, I'm telling you what this person doesn't want cancer and they want to be healed and So they come up and they want the elders to pray from them Some folks even come up with him.

He's very humble He cries all over the place now sometime now. I'm going to tell you what Sometimes God in his sovereign will I Mean he just I mean his heart and humble He's not have to go through the things that he's confessing them But in other times and many many many case they're going to go through this thing because this is what the Bible is talking to you man, it comes up and everybody knows that this is the most lacked man and most admired man as a Christian they are in this congregation and They all Love him and it comes up And there he's anointed with oil and he used a lot of oil and he dies, you know that happens, don't you? now I'm not saying they're not other reasons I did I know a lot of reasons why healing won't work and I'm not gonna get into all of them right now But I'm going to tell you part of the reason right now Now I'm going to tell you what God sees in this man Now did we see over here in James 4 that he says cleanse your heart You sinners and purify change your hands you sinners and purify you heart We're a double minded trying to walk ate the flesh in the devil. I walk the Lord.

Is that right? All right. Now. Here's what the Lord sees the Lord Let's see, I'm I'll just go over there and do that or can can you roll this over here? Oh, you got to do that You've got to move the screen.

Yeah, they didn't have these in Benton Here's what God sees When this man comes before him it sees where's he looking at right here in his heart. Is that right? He's looking in a man this man comes here and he wants to deal with that cancer and what he's saying right there when he comes before the Lord he said Lord I Want you to deal with this one sin right here cancer But I'm going to keep this greed and slander that's in my heart Lord, I want you to deal with this one sin of cancer But I'm going to keep this unconfessed bitterness and rebellion and envy in my heart Lord I want you to deal with this one sin cancer But I'm going to keep this pride and self-pity and anger and hate that's in my heart I haven't repeated up Lord. I want you to deal with this one sin of cancer But I want in my heart I I'm gonna keep this gossip and deceit Lord deal with this one sin of cancer right here But I want to keep this these sins of selfishness and unforgiveness Lord I'm just interested in you dealing with this this one sin right here that cancer is all I need right there I want to keep this resentment and I'll keep this stubbornness and I'll keep this jealousy in my heart Now are you seeing what I'm done? Huh? Huh? That's not what James for said said cleanse your hand you sinners He was not cleansing his hand of the selfishness and anger and the gossip and the slander and everything He just want to cleanse his hands of one sin, right? Say God doesn't see any difference in that sin Then he doesn't unforgiveness Amen Now that's not the total picture and that's not always The rule when some the anointing and the power of God is on a place that someone did but God and his sovereign will and the Power of God, but I'm going to tell you something you talk about something making a difference in somebody's life This is the way people ought to be taught And this is all it told and that's what you're supposed to walk and when you're walking this way and something gets on you You can get it off right there All right, just real quickly.

I want you to turn with me to Acts Now I'm not going to turn to Acts 1 9 11 where it said Jesus, you know, you remember what he talked to that Said where we're going to turn to is Acts 5 Jesus, you know, the last thing he did was ascended and Spoke to the disciples and immediately ascended went into heaven, right? Did he teach the disciples how he wanted the church to be a man? He told him to go and baptize teach the word and and teach him to observe everything make more disciples, right? Make more disciples like who make more disciples like them teach them everything I taught you and then it gonna be like you and if they like you they're gonna be like me because you're gonna do What I told you to do, right? Well, amen. All right, then we see this starts again and Acts 1 where Jesus right there and Acts 1 He has said these things and he ascends and goes into heaven And then who do you think would be the best authority on how a church would be? I think you would start in Acts 1 to see what the church is forced to look like I believe you can tell more from Acts 1 what the church is supposed to look like from the 6th and the 16th and 17th century I think acts is better than old-time religion now, I Could go through now they're on your list some other scriptures there in Acts, but I'm just going to start over first I want to show you how this church they walked in much opposition and persecution and words But the only thing they were interested in is what God said Jesus name and I want you to know that's the way I mean when you walk with God You're out on a limb and if he don't come through you're sunk and that's exactly where God wants to walk now We have been programmed listen pastor We have been so programmed that we have to be in control and we have been programmed when we start losing control That would lose control or something. That's when the enemy attacks you with fear and intimidation We've been taught to trust other things and so I'm telling you what the fallen after Jesus and this what God is doing today We're going to have to turn it loose.

I'm telling you what we're going to go through the valley pastor You will go through the valley every one of you are going to go to the valley You don't go through the valley. You won't have nothing to talk about You're going to be tested first and then Lord's going to raise you up and then when he raises you up and makes a name For you, you're gonna know who put you there and you know who set you down. I heard my wife laughs She knows I've been set down.

I'm telling you what I fear God. I fear he'll set me down I don't care what kind of a splash or anything or how people think about me or say about me a good or anything else I know one person that I cannot deceive but even the thoughts of my heart That's God and I know that he can use me all over the place right here. It's all over I'm telling you when God's spirit or hand comes off.

It's all him and so it is with you Now it's time we started acting like that, let's just let God be God. He's just kind of funny about that That's all he wants to do. Just let him be God He's not going to bring confusion and he doesn't need any experts.

They're just not any do it And I'm going to tell you what these things that God does through gifts and spirits out He's severally well, no one's going to wear gifts and everything like they've got some kind of badge or something like they're something God a move going to move through this one He'll move through that and you don't know what you own He's going to move through so you'll know that nobody of any reputation is doing it except the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen Acts 5 verse 12 Well, how'd I get in first Peter I told you I was tore up Acts 5 verse 12 and at the hands of the Apostles many signs and wonders were taking place Among the people and they were all in one accord and saw in the port of God now Don't you know these people he and alien cast out demons don't you know? They have a lot to say about them Now that don't make it popular with a whole lot of folks when you start doing things like that that messes numbers and every kind Of thing but 13, but none of the rest did what? And it won't associate with them. Well, they had a lot of problem like that.

I sure I'm glad it's not that way today, aren't you? Huh? They didn't want to associate with them. However the people The people can you hear me where you're sitting the people helped in my eyes I think I've done sheep are coming. You know, my wife's talking about your money morning.

She's that male That's what the most beautiful sight that God just opened my eyes. She's 630 in the morning You know, I was over here at the hotel and she came over to meet with me here And she said here those cheap was it 630 of morning and they're coming with their Bible. They're going to eat Sheep Yes, hundreds of them going to eat Cheaper hunger they're starved to death the people The sheep are coming Nothing stops the sheep Nothing stops the sheep now Let's go ahead verse 16 and Also the people from the cities in a vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together They were bringing people who were sick or afflicted with what? Were they sick and afflicted with unclean spirits that what your Bible says Sick and afflicted with demons.

Oh my how'd that get in there and they they were healing some of them All being healed now, let me tell you something folks. Let me tell you why all of them are not being healed today Let me tell you something. We're not right before God Now let's let's don't act like we're right Because see when we know what covenant is and when we just died this world You know, we're ever nothing in this world And none of these possessions mean anything to us and our hearts not going after these things I'm tell you what we've moved in a oneness and a covenant I mean brother and where we're totally trusting God we lay down everything and we have one accord because we only want Jesus receive the glory We're not got our heart fixed on any man and it's not Jesus plus anything I'm telling you that that's what you're going to see and that folks Is what's coming up by I'm telling you I'm seeing more people healed all the time.

I mean all the time. It's getting where it's not much trouble like it used to be Matter of fact Lord just healed some of them right now. I ask you in Jesus name Praise Jesus.

He sent his word to heal you His word is life to you and helped all your whole flesh down He said if you preach your word, he's going to do it, honey. I was at Waco in Island Baptist Church there and they was It was this fella. I I'm met Bob Lillie and and you know, I thought well, you know, that sounds familiar Bob Lillie Bob Lillie, I know I heard that word before but you know, I didn't think you know, well, that's I Just forgot about it and I went ahead or to head the seminar and at one point there the Lord just impressed me You know that people that did sickness and it'd be impacted with headaches and pains and stuff like this And so I said folks will you stand up now see we're used to the man coming to town I said I I tell you what those that are hurting right now who have pain and hurting right now headache and this sort of thing I want you right down the name of you stand up your seat and And and they stood up and then I said don't you people just close to him right there now get around him Just lay your hands on him right there.

Just lay your hands on him right now so we led in a prayer right there and And then and the Lord just set him free all over at places sit down and later on. I found out that for seven years That Bob Lillie had had this continuous migraine I mean splitting and the Lord just removed that forever from him right then said these kind of things and one little girl Came up and she said I have not been able to hear how this here for 14 years and I I thought maybe I might ought to just mention it to it the Lord all the time things Happened and I didn't even get to lay hands on her or nothing. You know, I Mean God just does it.

He's he healed her with this word. So there they heal these sick afflicted people with demons and then First 17 when they heal these people with demons some of the high preachers rose up Please circle rose up The high preachers rose up now. I tell you what you can lose control when a lot of things like that goes on You know it that sound like a there's some other power coming at you Look listen me what you say the chief preachers Convened Meeting a council and they were saying talking about Jesus What are we doing? If we continue to leave this Man along he's doing many signs and wonders if we continue to leave him alone Soon the whole world will be falling and the Romans will come and take our place.

You better not have no place with Jesus By the way, that's headquarters, but the high preachers rose up along with associates that the sect of Sadducees that's another denomination. That's the reason they were sad. Do you see and they were filled with what? Yeah, the one who's taught see why they're sad.

They're listening to the devil and they laid their hands on the Apostles and Put them in a public jail they lay hands on different than what the other folks that I don't think but You always try up in Jesus An angel the Lord during the night open the gates of the prison and Taking them out. He said Here's what the angel said a red put this and on the refrigerator go your way and stand And you speak to this people in the church the whole message of this life Lord, amen all of it well So here they went back out there and in 25 But someone came reported him a whole these men whom you put in prison They're back in the church teaching again the people they thought they had him in jail Well, look here in 27 and when they brought them they stood before the council and the high preacher questioned them And saying now here's another he's a can't you just see him. Look here.

Look at look here And he's little little price talker, you know, I'm just it we gave you strict orders I've I magic now because you've been doing this since the first chapter in Acts We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name and behold you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and you intend to bring this man's blood upon us But but Peter and and and I was trying to please him right there and he said that Peter and the Apostle Samson said we must Obey God rather than men. Amen well, praise the Lord 32 and we are witness these things look who gets the Holy Spirit and so is the Holy Spirit who God Gives to who? Oh But those have been that sound like Oh John 336 what we said up there The wrath of God remains on those who does not obey him and then there he says he gives the Holy Spirit the one who does Obey him. We'll let that get in there Well one other thing let's go over in Acts 6 We see there in verse 2 that this I mean, this is a church folks It's all God and the twelve summoned and see what kind of congregation ahead.

They had a congregation disciples in All right, then and look down in 7 and Verse 7 the Word of God just kept on spreading and the number of disciples just continued here. We're making disciples And the number of disciples continued to increase what? Greatly in Jerusalem and a great number of the preachers are being saved Becoming obedient to the faith now.
