God is faithful. Anybody need to be reminded of his faithfulness on a regular basis? That one song we sang, I wish I wrote down the lyrics exactly. Not once, not once have you ever forsaken me.
Could you imagine just dwelling on that just for a minute? Not once have you ever forsaken me. Not once have you ever let me down. God is faithful.
What does that word mean? Loyal, constant, steadfast, unwavering, dedicated, committed. Think about that for a minute. God says, listen, I am loyal, I am consistent, I'm unwavering, I'm dedicated, I'm committed.
In a world that is chaotic, in a world that you can say one thing and do another, there is a God who will listen at midnight, at one in the morning, at two in the morning, at three, he will listen. He's committed, he's dedicated. He says, if you seek me with all of your heart, you will find me.
See, the problem's never on God's end. Even when he seems distant, he's right there. It's an ever-present help in time of need.
Where will you go and flee his presence? David asked, if I go into heaven, you are there. Behold, if I make my bed in hell, you are there. If I go to the uttermost parts of the sea and try to flee from you, even you are there.
Why are you there? To uphold me, to pull me up from my debauchery and my sin. Even with your right hand, you pull me up because God says, I am committed, I am unwavering. I shall not sleep, I shall not slumber.
I'm steadfast, I'm committed to you and who you are. I'm committed to what I've called you to do. Hold on to the anchor, hold on to the anchor.
Though the storm come, what, the house does not fall. Jesus says, if you build your house, if you do what I tell you to do, though the storms come, though the wind beats, though the rains fall, it will not fall. Why, because it is founded.
It is grounded. It is committed to the rock that is unwavering and sure, a sure foundation. Woo, man.
I need some oxygen. Listen, guys, it's not a game. This isn't acting, this is the truth.
I would jump on top of this pulpit if I could. And I hope to preach until he takes me home because there is a God who is steadfast and unwavering and committed. Oh, he should've threw me to the curb decades ago.
You know it's all true with all of you. What kind of, never, I'm committed, I'm unwavering. I'm faithful when everybody else fails.
Kids, spouse, friends, family, there's a God who will never fail you. I will never leave you, I will never forsake you. Look to me.
Where does my help come from? Where does your help come from? Now we all go on Google to find where our help comes from. I love what, I think it was Jeremiah. His word is in my heart like a burning fire.
It's shut up in my bones. I'm weary of holding it back and I cannot. His word is like a fire that devours.
His word is like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces. When you get broken before God and you go to witness or you go to preach or you go to teach, the words of the living God are infused with power, with anointing, with unction. Why? Because he is faithful.
I'm telling you right now, one of the secret, I'm gonna give you the secret to ministry. The secret. You ready for this? We can see it in Jesus' life.
He walks into the temple after fasting. That's a whole nother sermon. But he walks into the temple and he said, the spirit of the living God is upon me.
The spirit of the living God is upon me. He has anointed me to preach the glorious gospel to the poor and the downtrodden. He's called me to open blind eyes.
He's called me to open the ears of the deaf. He's called me to set the captives free. Why? Because the spirit of the living God is upon him.
That same call goes out to you. Did you know that? Oh, come on. Yeah.
I mean, at least the Bible I read. Remember we talked about that in the Holy Spirit, the three prepositions used with the Holy Spirit, para and an epi. Epi is that upon that many Christians don't have.
It's where we get the word paraclete, coming alongside, and then the Holy Spirit is in a person. But very few people have the Holy Spirit upon them. It's a direct preposition, E-P-I in the Greek.
It's an overwhelming, controlling, almost like a person being baptized. That's why they use that word, baptized in the Holy Spirit. The unction of the Holy Spirit, the fire of the Holy Spirit, the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
And when you're on fire, people come and they watch you burn. Burn for God. Burn doing the things of God.
That's the secret to ministry. Well, that's good for you. You're a pastor.
No, you're a father. You're a mother. That's the key to the Christian, Victoria's Christian life.
You wanna make a difference in your home, have the Holy Spirit be upon you. And second to that is this point, God is faithful. The only way I know that this church is going to continue and that God did this is because He called us to do this.
He's faithful. You think for one second, I think, look at what we've done. Not even close.
Just amazed at what, because He's faithful. And here's the key. He says, line up with what I wanna do and I'll steer you.
Line up in my direction, I'll direct you. But like that little two-year-old, mine. I wanna do it my way.
Isn't it interesting that most people, if they walk away from God in what we call the dumb years, 15 to 25, and even longer, because what are they doing? They're fighting. They're fighting. Why can't I do it my friend? What can my friends do? Why can't I get drunk? Why can't I party? Why can't I do this? Why can't I do, and they're fighting God.
They're rebelling. I don't wanna submit to this God guy who's gonna send me to Africa. And they're fighting, they're rebelling, they're fighting, they're rebelling.
And then they get to a point where, oh my Lord, life is killing me. Life is not my friend. The devil's trying to take me down.
God, I'm so broke right now, I'm fully surrendering my life to you. And God, the prodigal son comes back home and now they have a passion for God. What happened? They stopped fighting God.
They stopped rebelling against God. Why is the power, the anointing of the Holy Spirit under attack today? Because that's what we need. We need revival.
Do you know what revival really is? It's when God gets sick and tired of being misrepresented and he shows up himself. That's revival. That awakens the church.
That's why there's so much division. Don't raise your hands. Don't get too charismatic.
Don't get crazy. Well, I've got dozens and dozens of scriptures that talk about shouting to the Lord, making a holy sound to God. Those who are holy, lift up holy hands and worship your God.
Let the power of the Holy Spirit fall in that place and you will change your community. A dead, dying cemetery church does nothing but please a dying congregation.
