Yes, Lord! Yes, Lord! Yes, Lord! Yes, Jesus! Holy Ghost! Holy Ghost! Have your way, Lord! I'd like for everyone to pray the same prayer we've been praying since Father's Day with me tonight. Those of you in the chapel, those of you at home, I want you to pray this prayer. Just a few minutes ago, the Lord spoke to my heart about hundreds of you in this room that have made Jesus Christ your Savior, but you're not serving Him, and He's not governing your life.
And I want to warn you tonight about that. That is a false religion. You can't live like that, friend, where you want to be saved from punishment.
You want to be saved from hell. You want security for heaven, but you're not serving Him. And you think you're going to heaven, friend, but I'm warning you tonight, Jesus Christ wants to be your Lord.
He wants to govern your life. He wants to govern your life. And people come up to me all the time after reading that little booklet, Stone Cold Heart, and they say, Brother Steve, how is it that change has come about in you, and you've been able to travel and do the things you've done, and especially Teen Challenge guys come up all the time, and they ask me that because they see such a radical change.
I want to tell you how, friend. I've made Him Lord of my life. He saved me.
I remember. I remember when He saved me. I remember when He saved me.
In two days, it'll be 21 years that He saved me. But, friend, I also remember when I started learning about the Lordship of Christ, that I was no longer my own. You are not your own.
You are bought with a price. You belong to Jesus. Young people, look at me.
You have absolutely no right planning your future. Listen to me in the chapel. You can't plan your future.
You can't go out looking for a mate. You can't go out looking for this and looking for that. See, you are a slave child of the Lord.
You belong to Jesus. You're bought with a price. He knows.
And I meet people. I meet people all the time, friend. They tell me, I'm going to do this.
I'm going to do that. I'm going here. I'm going there.
And it's like they govern their own lives. One of the things I love so much about the language in Argentina, the Castellano, they always say, si Dios quiere, si Dios quiere, if God permits, if He allows. I would say, you want to go there tomorrow? They'd always go, si Dios quiere.
See, if God permits, we'll go there tomorrow. And I remember hearing that over and over and over again. And it became embedded in my mind that, yeah, that's the truth.
If God allows me, then I'll do this and that. So tonight, in just a few minutes, I'm going to be giving an altar call. Many people, I've already met people here that don't know the Lord.
You're going to come to Jesus. But others of you, others of you in this room that maybe you've gotten saved before, but He does not govern your life. Friend, you're going to be one of those in those last days.
He's going to look at you. You're going to be expecting. You're going to be expecting a welcome.
You're going to be expecting an entrance, an open door. And you're going to say, but Jesus, I cast out demons in your name. But Jesus, I healed the sick in your name.
But Jesus, I ran the orphanage. But Jesus, I worked a soup line for Thanksgiving at the Mission. But Jesus, I taught Sunday school.
But Jesus, I pastored. But Jesus, my youth group was running 275. But Jesus, and He's going to say, depart from me.
I never knew you. And that has to do, friend, with just living on your own in rebellion. You just did your own thing.
Never questioning the Lord of the harvest about a thing. What does He want? Everyone pray this prayer with me in the chapel, in this auditorium. Those of you at home, you are not exempt from this prayer.
Somebody gave you this tape. And you're so kind to have watched it. You're watching it right now.
But, sir, I'm telling you, this is not just another video. This is the Word of God coming into your home. And it's about time.
And, ma'am, sir, you're going to pray this prayer with us. You're going to ask the Lord to speak to your heart and to change your life. Would you pray with me right now? Dear Jesus, speak to my heart.
Change my life. In your precious name, amen. You may be seated.
Three things I am sure of tonight, friend. Everyone is here under divine appointment. Look at me, folks.
I don't care how you got here. It makes no difference. If somebody drug you into this place, I remember the other day some parents came up to me with a young girl.
And, I mean, she was queen snot. She hated me. She hated this revival.
She was one of those kids that got drug here. Probably the parents said in Kentucky, honey, do you want to go to Disney World? Do you want to go to Florida? And they stopped for gas here, you know, type of thing. But she didn't want to be here.
And if you're here tonight like that, you don't want to be here, friend. This is a divine appointment for you. Just a few weeks ago, we had the police pull up outside with three people they had arrested on the streets.
And rather than take them to jail, they brought them to the revival. Hallelujah. Think about that.
Think about that. You're sitting in the squad car, you know, behind the cage, sitting back there thinking about, man, what's this going to be like? I'm going to jail, you know. And they pull up at the church and they say, get out.
And I remember they marched them. When the altar call was given, two of the three got saved that night. Hallelujah.
So they were here. That was a divine appointment. No, the cops brought me here.
No, friend, God used the cops. It is a divine appointment. Everyone here is under divine appointment.
If you've been coming to the revival a lot and you just happened to come tonight, you didn't happen to come, friend. This is God's plan for you tonight. I don't know how you take life, but I don't take it circumstantial.
I don't take it like things sort of happen. I believe in divine flat tires. I believe everything that happens has a purpose.
Everything. Nothing takes God by surprise. We say he's omnipresent.
That means he's everywhere. Nothing takes him by surprise, friend. He knows what's going on out there.
Don't live some mystical life, friend. God knows what's going on. He's there with you.
He's brought you here tonight. I also know that what I'm sharing tonight is God's message for you. The Lord knows how to prepare the heart for the message and the message for the heart.
How many say amen? And many of you tonight will be hit by the arrows of the Lord. And I hurt for those of you that do not respond. The arrows of the Lord are sharp.
The Word of God says they are sharp. They strike like lightning. Pastors, this is a great word study if you want to do it.
The arrows of the Lord are sharp. They strike like lightning and they stick fast. The only one that can remove the arrow of the Lord, and that means when the conviction of God hits you tonight, the arrow pierces your heart and it begins beating, or like a girl said the other night, began just hurting.
Her heart was hurting. Some, it pounds out of their chest. That's conviction, friend.
If I was talking about Harley Davidson's or the Florida State Seminoles or something else like that, your heart wouldn't be doing that. I could talk about golf and bass fishing. Your heart wouldn't do that.
Some of you would. Get all excited. But most of you wouldn't fall under conviction, but you start talking about God and you start mentioning sin and sins.
And as soon as we mention sins in this room, friend, you should see what we see. Heads begin to bow. People begin to go, honey, I gotta go to the bathroom.
I gotta get a drink of water. That's conviction, friend. Why do you suddenly have to get a drink of water? Why do you suddenly have to go to the bathroom? Why all through the service you've got your head up, then suddenly it's down in your lap? It's called conviction, friend.
It's the arrow of the Lord and it's pricked your heart. And the only one that can remove that arrow is the Holy Ghost. He's the only one that can remove the arrow.
I meet people all the time. How many folks have met folks out on the streets and in the restaurants at work that live sort of under conviction? And as soon as you bring up Jesus and something, they start changing the subject. How many have backsliders? They're everywhere.
They got arrows sticking out of them, friend. That's why people can't sleep at night. You can't sleep with an arrow sticking out of your body.
They roll over. They toss and they turn all night long because they're full of guilt. They're not free.
So tonight, many of you are going to be pricked by the arrows of the Lord. You need to respond to the Lord tonight. Turn with me to Matthew 27.
Last night was awesome. How many were here last night? Friend, this building God moved so mightily here in the chapel across the street. Dick, I know you're over there with a group of folks.
In the chapel across the street, the whole front filled up and all the aisles filled up. In the cafeteria, 180 people came forward. Friend, it was awesome last night.
Matthew 27. I'd like to speak to you for a few minutes on the question, the question. Verse 11, Matthew 27.
Now, Jesus stood before the governor. This is Jesus before Pilate. And the governor questioned him saying, are you the king of the Jews? And Jesus said to him, it is as you say.
And while he was being accused by the chief priests and elders, he made no answer. Then Pilate said to him, do you not hear how many things they testify against you? And he did not answer him with regard to even a single charge so that the governor was quite amazed. Now, at the feast, the governor was accustomed to release for the multitude any one prisoner whom they wanted.
And they were holding at that time a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, whom do you want me to release for you, Barabbas or Jesus who is called Christ? For he knew that because of envy, they had delivered him up. And while he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife said to him saying, have nothing to do with that righteous man for last night I suffered greatly in a dream because of him.
Now, if you want to picture that friend, she had an arrow sticking out of her. That woman was under conviction. Her heart was doing this.
She was under conviction. So close, yet not saved. But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes to ask for Barabbas and to put Jesus to death.
But the governor answered and said to them, which of the two do you want me to release for you? And when they said Barabbas, Pilate said to them, then what shall I do with Jesus who is called the Christ? They all said, let him be crucified. And when Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the multitude saying, I am innocent of this man's blood. See to that yourselves.
And all the people answered and said, his blood be on us and on our children. Then he released Barabbas for them. But after having Jesus scourged, he delivered him to be crucified.
Look with me back at verse 22. This is the question. Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ? Everybody has got to answer that question.
Look at me, folks. Everybody. Now we have visitors from South Africa.
God bless you, brethren from South Africa. Every man, woman, and child is going to have to answer that question in Africa. What am I going to do with Jesus who is called the Christ? We have visitors here from Australia.
Every Australian from east to west, north to south is going to have to answer that question. What shall I do with Jesus who is called the Christ? The question is not, what will I do with the assemblies of God? The question is not, what shall I do with the communion of the Lutheran church? The question is, should I be confirmed in the Episcopalian church? The question is not, should I be baptized at Cottage Hill Baptist? The question is not, should I attend the United Methodist Church? The question is not, should I do this or should I do that? The question is, friend, what should I do with Jesus who is called the Christ? Everyone has got to answer that. And the Lord is pressing this question.
If you've noticed in this revival and around America, he is sticking this question in our face. He could care less about our religion. He could care less about our denominations.
He could care less about our membership roles. He is saying, what are you going to do with me? I am the one that your denomination at one time was all about. Now I'm calling you back to your roots.
And what are you going to do with me? What are you going to do with Jesus who is called the Christ? Everybody is going to have to answer this. When you're dead and gone, people are going to know what your answer was. People know right now what your answer is, friend.
Some of you live such a wishy-washy life, it scares me. It scares me, friend. Let me tell you something.
For those of you that call yourself Christian and don't live up to the standards of Christ, don't use that name anymore. Don't use that name. Call yourself heathen.
Don't call yourself Christian because you're an embarrassment to the church. And when the people stand there and smell the whiskey on your breath or they listen to your cursings or they hear your vile jokes and then you say, listen, I've got to go because tomorrow I've got to be in church. My family are Christian.
What you've done is destroyed the testimony in this country. This country no longer knows what Christianity is, friend. There is no deciphering between Christians and the world.
They can't tell the difference, but it's changing, friend. It's changing and it's changing rapidly. It's never going to be the same again.
It's never going to be the same again. I want to tell you, this is prophetic. By the year 2000, when you say I'm a Christian, people are going to tremble.
Listen to me, friend. When you say that you're a Christian, you are automatically setting yourself up in front of them as one of them, one of them. There's a great divide coming to the church.
Watch it happen. There's going to be a civil war like no civil war. You think the one back in the 1800s was violent.
Wait to see what happens to the church, friend, and it's time. It is time. God is sending his son back for a holy remnant.
Jesus is coming back for a bride, a holy church, separated, clean, spotless, set apart, set apart, set apart. Hallelujah. You're going to have to make up your mind tonight.
President Rutherford B. Hayes, our 19th president of the United States, he said this. I'm talking about what are you going to do with Jesus, which is called the Christ. I publicly am a firm believer in the divine teachings, the perfect example, and the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Robert E. Lee says, I can only say that I am a poor sinner trusting in Christ alone for salvation. Scientist Pascal said, We know God only through Jesus Christ. We know life and death only through Jesus Christ.
Except by Jesus Christ, we know not what life is, what our death is, what God is, what we ourselves are. Without Jesus Christ, man must be in sin and misery. With Jesus Christ, man is exempt from sin and misery.
I wonder what he meant, friend. I think this guy knew God. We know God only through Jesus Christ.
He made up his mind, a scientist in the 1600s, made up his mind what he was going to do with Jesus, which is called the Christ. And other scientists who worked around him I'm sure said, You are a foolish man. How can one so wise with earthly wisdom be so ignorant in spiritual things? Don't you know there's nothing out there? He said, No, sir.
I don't know that. I know that we know life and death only through Jesus Christ. Sir Isaac Newton, how many know about him? Remember the apple? Must be his nephew.
Brother Newton. He gave us the law of universal gravitation. He said this, We are to worship the Father alone as God Almighty and Jesus alone as the Lord, the Messiah, the great King, the Lamb of God who was slain and hath redeemed us with his blood and made us kings and priests.
I wonder, friend, I wonder why they don't teach that in school. This generation knows all about Sir Isaac Newton. Every one of them knows.
But what they don't know is that he said, You gotta be washed in the blood of the Lamb. What they don't know, what they don't know is that little apple that fell from the tree, Sir Isaac Newton was saying, God made that apple. Hallelujah.
Charles Dickens wrote in his will, I commit my soul to the mercy of God through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Alexander Hamilton said, One of our founding fathers, he said, I have a tender reliance on the mercy of the Almighty through the merits of the Lord, Jesus Christ. I am a sinner and I look to him alone for mercy.
Now, I'm reading to you some of our leaders, our founding fathers, some of our great historians, friend. They did not say, I believe in God. They didn't say, I believe in a supreme being.
That's hogwash, friend. And young people, if they let you pray in school and they say, do it generic, there ain't no such thing. You either pray through Jesus Christ because there's only one way to the Father and that's through him.
So if they say, just stand and pray a prayer like this, Oh God, touch us all now. Amen. No, friend, that could be for everybody.
That could be every religion in the world. But when you say, Oh God, have mercy on us through your son, Jesus Christ. Have mercy on this school.
Have mercy on my soul. Martin Van Buren, the eighth president of the US, said this, the atonement of Jesus Christ is the only remedy and rest for my soul. And I love old Noah Webster.
Don't get me started on his brother. And he's a brother. This guy's a brother.
Those of you that have been in these meetings, I read, do you have the dictionary with you, Charlie? I read from this thing all the time. This is Noah Webster's. This is from the 1840s.
And this is, we may start a petition for Noah, for Miriam Webster to get Webster's name off that dictionary. Because I want to tell you, ain't got nothing to do with Noah. Noah, he'd freak.
If he saw what the dictionary was today and what he had back then. And I was just looking the other day. You can look up almost any word in here.
And all he gives is Scripture references. Just one after another. And I looked up, I thought, well, I'm going to look up clean.
I did this yesterday morning. I'll look up clean. And he puts, you have to be free from dirt.
That's what clean means. But he doesn't, he doesn't stop there, friend. Then he goes, to be free from moral impurity, to be innocent, who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Job chapter 14, Acts chapter 18.
That's, wait, wait, wait, wait. This guy. Then he goes, he says, to be free from ceremonial defilement.
Numbers 19, Leviticus 10. Free from guilt, sanctified, holy. John chapter 13, Psalm 51.
To be clean, totally clean. Luke chapter 11. To be, look at this guy.
That's clean. That's cleaner than clean. I looked up walk.
You know, it's to move one foot in front of the other. He gives the standard definition. Then he says, to walk after the flesh, to walk in the spirit, to walk after God, to walk in the light.
Just one after another, all these scriptures. Noah said this, I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I've committed unto him against that day. Hallelujah.
Noah Webster. Noah Webster answered that question. He answered that question.
We're going to answer it tonight over the next few minutes. Everyone in this room. Now, we're going to have a little grammar lesson first.
Charlie, I want you to help me with these. Bring those things out, would you? It's Saturday night and you need help. More than you, I need help.
If this is too dumb for you, then relax. The person sitting next to you needs it. But the Lord told me as an evangelist friend, listen to me.
As an evangelist, he spoke to me years ago. He said, Steve, if an eight-year-old can understand it, if a child can understand it, then everyone in the room can understand it. And I began reading the sermons of the great revivalists of years gone by.
I've got thousands of sermons in my libraries and I read through them. I look at them and I go, dear God, the simplicity of the gospel. The Argentine revival, friend, two million people have come to the Lord and the basic message is God loves you, has a plan for your life, won't you come? Over and over again, man.
And I watch it and I watch thousands and thousands come to the Lord every night. God loves you, has a plan for your life, won't you come? Jesus died on the cross for you. He shed his blood for you.
What are you going to do for him? Simplicity of the gospel. So he told me, Steve, don't try to impress anyone. Preach my word and preach it with power.
Well, we got, this is a grammar lesson. Now, teachers, I know you appreciate this. Trying to help you here, kids.
This is a period. It's not a Frisbee. It's a period.
This point, this is a point that marks the end of a complete sentence. Amen? A period, a complete sentence. That's what it is, not a dot.
It's a period. John 14, 6 says this, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me.
There's no question. There's no however. There's no comma however.
There's no comma but. It is period. And Simon Peter one day said, after Jesus says, but who do you say that I am? Simon Peter answered and said, thou art the Christ, the son of the living God.
No question about it, friend. It's a complete statement. Is anybody understanding this? Hello.
I'm still having a hard time, Brother Steve. Stick with me, Bubba. We're gonna make it.
We're gonna help you. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. There ain't no question about it, friend.
That's a period. Then, this is not an intense word study or phrase. Trust me.
Relax, I'm not Michael Brown. This is an exclamation mark. Exclamation is a word expressing passion, an emphatical utterance.
We know what it means. If I screamed out to my little son who was running across the street and I saw a car coming, I would say, Ryan, stop. That's what that is.
Y'all having a hard time saying, you need an explanation, aren't you? Exclamation, say it. Exclamation. John 1.29, behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
Friend, he didn't say, John the Baptist did not say, behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. He didn't say that, friend. He said, behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world.
That's the way it is. He takes away the sin of the world. Hallelujah.
Yes. That's the way it is. Hallelujah.
Hallelujah. Yes. Oh.
It expresses passion. Now, don't look all these up, friend. They're in there, trust me.
Matthew 27, 54. Now, the centurion, this was at the death of Christ. Now, the centurion, all those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, truly, this was the Son of God.
Could you imagine? Could you imagine? The earth is cracking open. The skies have darkened. People are jumping out of the graves and they're going, surely, no, friend, surely this was the Son of God.
Oh. Jesus. Hallelujah.
Hallelujah. And there's many uses in the Word of God of this grammatical, what do you call it, teachers? Punctuation point. When blind Bartimaeus was going after God in Mark chapter 10, crying out for a touch from Jesus, the Bible says he was screaming out, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me, friend.
Jesus, Son of David. He was screaming it, friend. It was emphatical, a passionate cry.
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me. Have mercy on me. The poor man cried and the Lord delivered him out of all his distresses.
Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me, friend. That is the exclamation mark. Now, we're moving on.
Question. That is something proposed which must have an answer. Jesus in Matthew 16, 15 said to the people, to his disciples, after everybody else had left, you remember the story? Jesus turned to them.
I'm gonna tell you something. The Lord asked a lot of questions. He would nail you in a heartbeat.
You think the Lord was passive? No, sir. He wasn't passive at all. He looked at the people and they kept walking around.
Some of you are so dedicated to getting God's hand. Richard said this so much in this revival, Richard Crisco, our youth pastor. He said some of you are after his hand, his hand, his hand, and God wants you to be after his face, his presence, but you're always after his hand and that's Jesus had crowds.
He had crowds. They were always hanging around him to heal the sick, to feed them, to clothe them, to do whatever he could for them and he finally turned to them and he said, drink my blood, eat my flesh and they said, this is a hard saying and they all left. They all left and then Jesus said this.
He said this question, friend, but who? He said, you do not want to go away also, do you? Question. Peter, John, looks like popularity just left. We're all alone, guys.
You know, we had a lot of admirers a few minutes ago, but thousands just walked off and left us alone here. Pastors, I'm going to warn you about revival. You better be on that boat with Jesus.
You better be alone with the Lord. When he turns around, all these folks walk off, he turns around and says, you're not going to leave me too, are you? You can't skirt that, friend. You can't skirt that.
He's asking you a question. Now, we're going to touch on this tonight, friend. You remember when folks are saying, well, Jesus is this.
Jesus, he's Elijah. He's this. He's that.
This is what the people are saying about you, Messiah. This is what they're saying, but who do you say that I am? Question. Who do you say that I am? America? Who is he? One of our major denominations, and some of you are represented in this church tonight.
One of our major denominations just voted, the leader of the denomination just voted to permit homosexuals to pastor their congregations. You probably heard it in the news. Someone came and told me that.
I'm asking you this question, priest, pastor. Who do you say that he is? Who is he to your church organization? Who do you say that he is, friend? Jesus asked Peter after he had denied him three times around the fires of the ungodly, friend. You start warming yourself around the fires of the ungodly, you'll step into denial in a heartbeat.
That's one of the steps of betrayal. You remember what Judas did at the very end of, right before he betrayed Jesus, he went to the ungodly. That's a sign of betrayal.
And some of you, that's where you're at right now in your Christian life. You're talking to unsaved people about your walk with God, maybe about a church situation. And they're saying, yeah, you need to get out of church.
You don't need to go there. Some of you talked to the unsaved about this revival. You let an unsaved brother or an unsaved sister or an unsaved dad or mom talk you out of coming several times.
Who are they? What do they know? Jesus said after Peter had denied him three times, he said, Simon, son of John, do you love me? Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter, do you love me? Now I'm gonna tell you something about this question tonight before we close in this meeting. Charity, you ready? Ready? Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ? Number one, this is a personal question. Look at me, folks.
This is a personal question. It is not a corporate question. It is personal.
Young people, what are you going to do? Pilate said, what do I do with Jesus who is called the Christ? His wife came up. It was his wife, wasn't it? And said, I've suffered greatly in a dream about this man. But Pilate made up his mind what he was gonna do with Jesus, what he was gonna do with this man who called himself the Christ.
It is a personal question. If I can get anything across to this crowd tonight is that this is not a buddy system. This is one-on-one.
And the Lord is gonna ask you tonight, what are you gonna do with Jesus who is called the Christ? What are you gonna do with him? I'm not asking you, are you gonna go to church? I'm not asking you, are you gonna join a local assembly? I'm not asking you, are you gonna give an offering? I'm not asking you, are you gonna pay tithes in the chapel? I'm asking you, what are you gonna do with Jesus? It is a personal thing. Backslider, this question is in your face tonight. In your face.
What are you gonna do about your relationship with Christ? What are you gonna do with this Jesus who is called the Christ? I don't care who's hurt you. I don't care what you've gone through. Dear God, you're such a wimp.
Men, those of you that have backslidden, those of you that have slid away from God, that stinks in the nostrils of God, act like a man and be strong. I meet so many people that have been disillusioned by some stupid little thing that took place in a church. They backslid, totally left Christ, left the church, left everything, wallowed in the mire of depression, discontentment, ungodliness.
Why? Because of some idiotic situation in a church somewhere. They owned a brick company, and the church was building a new building, and they wanted the church to buy their bricks, but they, the church, didn't wanna buy their bricks. They wanted to buy it from some other place.
I wanna tell you something, friend. I was probably wise counsel. I'm gonna tell you why.
Because if you left over that, if you left the church over that, I sure wouldn't want your bricks on that building. But I'm not talking to you about your little donations. I'm not talking to you about your church membership.
I'm talking about what are you gonna do with Jesus tonight? Are you gonna make him Lord of your life? Are you gonna make him the center of your family? Is he gonna be everything to you? You're gonna have to make up your mind tonight, friends. I love this revival because thousands and thousands and thousands are making up their minds. They're making up their minds.
See, the curtain's closing, friends. There ain't a whole lot of time. There's not a lot of acts left in this play.
It's closing, friend. It's closing, and it's decision time. What are you gonna do? It's a personal question.
I read to you a few minutes ago, some of our leaders, and I could read to you hundreds and hundreds of men and women through the ages that decided it was a personal thing and this is what they're gonna do. I remember when I did that back in October of 1975. There had been several times where I rejected Christ.
Young people, listen to me. I rejected Christ as my Savior. People talked to me, and I turned them down.
I was there when some of my friends fell under conviction and got saved. I was there in jail when I saw some of my friends get saved. I've seen some stuff.
I remember the Jesus movement. For several years of the Jesus movement, my friends were getting saved in the late 60s and early 70s, and I detested it. I hated it because they were no longer drug dealers, and they were no longer doing smoking dope and running cocaine, and they were no longer getting high with me, and it bothered me.
I made up my mind what I was gonna do with Christ. I was gonna reject him. But there came a time, bless the Lord, where a man came into my room, October 28th, 1975, at 11 o'clock in the morning, and he sat at the edge of my bed, and I was going through convulsions from years of drug abuse, from years of tormenting this body, tormenting this mind.
I had been shaking violently for three days. My body was wracked with pain, and he looked at me, and he said, Steve, Jesus can save and heal you. And I looked at him.
I was laying on my bed, and I looked up at him, and I said, but I don't believe in Jesus. And I wanna tell you what was happening. When he came into my room, this question was about this far away, but he started getting closer.
And I said, but I don't believe in Jesus. He said, that's okay, Steve. Pray with me.
But I don't know how to pray. Every time he was making a statement, he was saying, what are you gonna do with this Jesus who is called the Christ? I'm getting closer. What are you gonna do with Jesus who is called the Christ? But I don't know how to pray.
He said, that's okay. Say the name Jesus. And he pressed it right into my face, and I remember this man was so adamant, so convinced.
He was there with an exclamation mark, friend, I promise you. He was saying, Steve, he will heal you. He will set you free, and he kept in my face, and he said, Steve, call out the name Jesus.
And I remember at 11 o'clock in the morning, a beautiful October day in North Alabama, I looked up at the ceiling of my room, and for the first time, I answered this question right. I went, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. I started crying out to him, friend, what am I gonna do with this Jesus who is called the Christ? I'm gonna make him my Lord and my Savior.
He's everything to me. I'm gonna ask him into my life. That's what I'm gonna do with this Jesus who is called the Christ.
Let me tell you, and I'm gonna close. I'm closing, friend, in just a minute, but for those of you at home, you look at this question. As a matter of fact, I want my cameras.
I want you to zoom into this. I'm asking you a question. One of the reasons many of you are at home watching this is because you're so disillusioned with what the church really is, but you missed the point, friend.
The point is not the church. The point is Christ. Your excuses don't hold up.
What are you gonna do with Jesus? I'm just gonna reject him. Are you really? We're talking eternal, friend, eternity in hell. You're gonna reject him.
Some of you that are listening to this are experiencing incredible torment right on this earth, and you make the statement, my life is hell. Oh, no, it's not. Your life is a Sunday school picnic compared to hell.
What are you gonna do with Jesus who is called the Christ? I'm asking you. Tonight, you're gonna make up that mind. In just a minute, you're gonna pray this prayer.
You ain't gonna escape, friend. It's decision time. It's a personal question.
It's also a pointed question. Personal and pointed. Tonight, I could ask you a question like this.
Where do you wanna go eat? Whataburger? Shoney's? Crystal? These are the only places open after the revival. Let me tell you something also. If you're from Crystal, Whataburger, or Shoney's, you need to be tithing to this revival.
You have made a killing. Those of you that have rented a car with National Rent-A-Car, listen to this, friend. National Rent-A-Car, from their central office, they send out maps, okay? Maps for National Rent-A-Car.
You rent the car from National, and you'll see on that map, it'll have Tallahassee. That's the state capital, okay? Tallahassee. It'll have Pensacola, and it'll have Brownsville.
And, friend, they got so tired. Now, Brownsville is a neighborhood. I mean, Brownsville, if you look on that map, those of you with National Rent-A-Car, you'll see it's as big as Pensacola, the words.
If you're from National Rent-A-Car, we want your tithes. But I could ask you tonight, I could ask you, where do you want to go eat? Those three places. That's an open question.
That's not a pointed question. That's an open question, friend. I can narrow it down and say, you want to go to Crystal or Whataburger? Or I could ask you a pointed question.
Do you want to go to Shoney's? That's a pointed question. You would not even question my question as far as what I meant. You knew what I meant.
This is a pointed question. This question, what shall I do with Jesus who is called the Christ? Listen to what he was saying, friend. He was saying Jesus.
The word Jesus means Savior. What should I do with this Savior? The word came to Joseph in a dream through an angel saying, Mary shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name for he shall save his people from their sins. What will I do with Jesus? He's not saying, what should I do with this sect of religious fanatics? He didn't say, what should I do with this leader of this group of people? He said, what should I do with Jesus? It is a pointed question, friend.
It is to the point. It is personal and it is pointed. You need a Savior.
You need a Savior, friend. You need Jesus. You don't need religion.
You don't need the assemblies of God. You don't need the Pentecostal Holiness Church. You don't need the United Methodists.
You don't need the Baptist organization. You need Jesus. You need Jesus.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. What are you going to do with Jesus who is called the Christ? That is a pointed question. You need a Savior for several reasons, friends, and I'm going to close.
You need him to save yourself from yourself. Why do I need a Savior, friend? You're self-destruct, friend. How many have been saved from themselves? You know what that's like, friend.
Someone asked me the other day, he said, how do you live so clean? I've been saved from myself. I've been saved from myself. When self, the carnal man wants to pull away from Christ and get involved in something that's going to cause him to stray from the Lord, Christ has come and given me power.
Thank God, Paul said, that he has delivered me. Christ has given me the power. Read it in Romans, friend.
You need a Savior to save you from yourself. When I feel something coming on, I can say, Jesus. Like Robert Murray McShane used to say, back in the 1800s, he would say, wash me, wash me, Jesus, to save you from yourself.
You need a Savior. You also need a Savior to save you from this present world, friend. Look at this place.
It's chaotic. It's a mess. And I watch the difference between Christians and non-Christians.
I've preached a lot of funerals, friends, and I watch how the wicked die. And I watch how the wicked attend funerals. Then I watch Christians.
And I go, dear God, can't they get it? Can't the world see a difference here? Look at these people. They're so eternally minded. They know that Jim has gone to be with the Lord.
Keith Green, who is buried right next to Leonard Ravenhill, on his epitaph, on his gravestone, he has one child in one hand and another in the other. They were killed in a plane crash back in 83. And on the gravestone, it says, gone to be with Jesus.
It's no mystery. You need a Savior. Keith was saved from this present world.
God took him, took him home. You need a Savior to save you from the filth and the corruption. Also, friend, you need a Savior to save you from the judgment to come.
Those are three reasons you need a Savior. There's more. But to save you from the judgment to come.
Brother Cary, hell's fixing to break loose. The hammer's gonna come down, friend. Those of you that always pictured God as a man up there with a big sledgehammer, I'm afraid you're right.
It's gonna happen. Right now, he's merciful. Right now, he's kind.
But one day, the gavel's gonna fall. One day, it's gonna happen and you will be judged. And on that day, on that day, those of you in the chapel, I wanna know that I have an advocate with the Father.
I wanna know that I have a lawyer on my side that would make Perry Mason look like a kindergarten kid. I want a lawyer, Jesus Christ, who says, Father, he's washed in my blood. You need a savior.
What shall I do with Jesus who is called the Christ? Christ means anointed one. The one who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed with the devil for God was with him. I'm closing.
See, this is a pointed question, friend. That's what I'm trying to get across. There's no escape this, okay? There's no escaping, friends.
What are you gonna do with Jesus? What are you gonna do with Jesus who is called the Christ? In Argentina, when we cast out devils, we cast out devils like this. En el nombre de Cristo Jesus de Nazareth. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Why? Because all over Latin America, people carry the name Jesus. You meet Jesus, you lead him to the Lord all the time. What's your name, Jesus? Well, let's pray in the name of Jesus, Jesus.
It's strange. They're everywhere. But when you cast out devils, when you say in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you pointed it out.
You know without a doubt who you're talking about and the devils know who you're talking about. And if I spit on tonight, I'm sorry. It's Saturday night.
Tonight I'm not held accountable for anything on Saturday night. Friend, this revival's been cooking for a long time. Come Saturday, we've prayed for thousands of people.
I want to tell you, those of you at home that have not come to this revival, what you need to do, I don't care where you live. I don't care if you're in Zimbabwe. It doesn't make any difference if you're in Honolulu.
It doesn't make any difference if you're in Fairbanks, Alaska. You need to get to this revival. You need to come down here and let God touch your life.
They've come from all over the world. One night in this revival, we had every one of the states represented. We just did it.
It was a Saturday night. And I had one person stand up. There were people here from every state of the union, including Alaska and Hawaii.
That wasn't just one night. Think about that, friend. And if they can come, you can come.
The last point on this question, what are you going to do with Jesus, who is called the Christ? It is a pivotal question. The three Ps, personal, pointed, and pivotal. Pitiful, you know what that means? It means it'll turn on that axis.
This pivotal question, friend, what are you going to do with Jesus, means change. When you answer this question, friend, it changes your life. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.
Old things pass away. Behold, all things are become new. It is a pivotal question, friend.
It will change your life. If you remember what happened to Saul of Tarsus when the Lord knocked him down to the ground, friend, it was a sudden act of God. He was hit.
He was thrown to the ground. The Lord nailed him and he said, what do you want me to do? Why are you persecuting me? And what did Saul do? Changed his whole life, friend. It is pivotal.
Zacchaeus, come down. Pivotal, friend. No, Lord.
Yes, Lord. No. Yes.
And he shimmied down, went to his house, and they were saved. It is a pivotal question. What are you going to do with Jesus who is called the Christ? Everyone who breathes on the face of this earth has got to answer this question.
I want everyone to stand. Those of you with chairs, move them to the left and the right. Everyone in the chapel stand.
And those of you at home, I want you to stand. As a matter of fact, let me do this question. Friends, we preach a lot of messages in this place.
I can't remember one where I felt the urgency of God more than this right here. Look at me, everybody. Those of you with the chairs, folks, don't watch these folks carrying those chairs.
Listen to me. Listen. Those of you in the chapel, Dick Rubin, they're going to listen.
I know they are, brother. You're a shepherd over there, brother. Just watch over that flock.
But I want everyone in the chapel, I want you to look at the screen. I don't want you to wander off. I want you to listen.
I'm asking you this question tonight. What are you going to do with Jesus who is called the Christ? It's in your face, friend. I'm not asking you if you're going to join a church.
I'm asking you tonight, are you going to make him Savior and Lord of your life? His cross experience, the crucifixion was serious. See, Jesus answered the question, what is he going to do for us? What are you going to do, Jesus, for mankind? I'm going to shed my blood on Calvary for every one of them. Now, what are you going to do with Jesus who did that for you? I'm going to live in my rebellion, brother Steve.
I'm going to live in my backslidden condition. God's a merciful God. He loves me.
He won't punish me. I don't know where you heard that damnable doctrine, friend. But every word that's coming out of your mouth, every evil deed is being written down.
It's being recorded, friend. Tonight you have the opportunity of a lifetime for Jesus Christ to wash your sins away, to cleanse you, to make you new. No one is exempt from this.
I want everyone to listen. Charity, I want you to come and join me up here. Charity's going to sing Run to the Mercy Seat.
Every one of you in this room that is away from God, every one of you in this room that has sin in your life, you have got to answer this question, not tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes. Have you ever noticed that? Tomorrow is a word only found in a fool's calendar.
By the way, tomorrow you turn your clocks back. Is that right? Well, when you get home from the revival. But tomorrow is a word only found in a fool's calendar, friend.
You have now. What are you going to do with Jesus When Jesus turned to Peter and the disciples and said, and what about you guys? Are you going to leave also? Peter didn't say. Give me a few days to think about it.
But who do they say that I am? Elijah, one of the prophets raised from the dead. This person, that person. But who do you say that I am, Peter? Who do you say that I am? Give me a few days, Jesus.
I'll get back with you. No, friend, it ain't like that and never has been. He wants a response from you tonight.
For backsliders in this room, this altar call is for you. This is a night for you to repent. Michael Brown laid the foundation on repentance.
You must repent. That means come down to this altar, fall on your face, and do something about your relationship with Jesus Christ. Get right with God.
Come while the doors open. Charity's going to sing, run to the mercy seat. Don't anyone come until this song begins.
For those of you that have sin in your life, this altar call is for you. You are not exempt. If you have sin in your life and you know you do, you're going to come down here as quickly as you can.
Sin is anything that Jesus wouldn't do. That's my definition. That means would Jesus sit on that couch and watch what you've been watching? No, he wouldn't, and you know he wouldn't.
He'd have left and he did leave a long time ago. That's sin, friend, and you need to repent. For those of you in this room that are from a cult, maybe you're a Muslim or a Buddhist or maybe you're a New Ager, Eastern religion, or maybe you're from some religion that's just moved into this country.
Thousands and thousands of cults operate in America, and I know you visit us every night. I'm asking you tonight, what are you going to do with Jesus who is called the Christ? You will be held accountable for this question all the days of your life. October the 26th, 1996 is history for you.
It is the pivotal point for you. What did you do with Jesus on that night? At nine o'clock in the evening, what did you do with Jesus? Did you reject him? Did you turn from him and say, no, I don't want him to be Lord of my life. No, I don't want him to govern me.
I just want to be a good church member, but I don't want him to govern my life. You've poured your tea, friend. You're going to drink it.
On that final day when he turns to you and he says, you get all that in my name, but I never knew you. Depart from me, son. Depart from me, child.
Get out of my face, I never knew you. Or tonight you can make the difference of a lifetime, friend. You can come to this pivotal point and you can say, I am sick and tired of my religion.
I'm sick and tired of hanging around the cross. I'm going to get on the cross. I want Jesus as my Lord.
I want Jesus as my savior. I'm giving him 100%. You're making your mind up, friend.
That's what the Lord is looking for tonight. It's elementary, but America better get back to basics. See, we've learned, we've educated ourselves right out of the truth, friend.
We're so learned in the scriptures, we're ignorant. We are ignorant. Everyone in this room that's living in sin, everyone in this room that's never known God, everyone in the chapel that's backslidden, everyone in this room that needs to repent tonight and ask God to wash their sins away.
As soon as Charity begins to sing, I want you to come as quickly as you can. I'm asking you this question, friend, and I ain't giving you 30 seconds to answer. I'm going to give you a split second.
As soon as she begins to sing, you're going to answer this question. If you're away from God, if you're a backslider, if you've never known the Lord, you're making up your mind right now about what you're going to do with Jesus, who is called the Christ. As soon as she begins to sing, if you've got sin in your life, if you're away from God, if you know without a shadow of a doubt you're not certain whether you go into heaven, you perhaps are going to hell, you don't know if you know the Lord, I want to tell you, friend, you need to be down here.
If that's a question in your mind, you need to answer this question right now by coming to these altars. Everyone right now, as Charity begins to sing, you're away from God. There's sin in your life.
I want you to come right now. Come on right now. Come on right now.
Hurry, hurry, hurry. In the chapel, let's go. Come on, come on.
Hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry. What are you going to do with Jesus? Come on. Come on.
Come on. Come on. Come on.
Come on. In the chapel, let's go. Come on, God bless you.
Let's go. Come on. Come on.
What are you going to do with Jesus who is called the Christ? Come on. Workers, come on. Workers, let's go.
What are you going to do with Jesus? Let's go. God bless you. What are you going to do with Jesus? What are you going to do at home? What are you going to do with Jesus who is called the Christ? Are you going to sit in your lazy boy? Are you going to sit on your couch? Are you going to lie in your bed and say, This is hogwash.
This is hogbug. I don't want anything to do with it. Wrong, my friend.
You have just made up your mind. You have said what you're going to do with Jesus who is called the Christ. You said, I don't want him.
I want to tell you, friend, if you're ashamed of him, he's ashamed of you. If you'll confess him, he'll confess you. If you'll come to him, he'll come to you.
What are you going to do with Jesus who is called the Christ? What are you going to do? Get on your face. Talk to him. Pray.
Ask forgiveness. Watch me, Jesus. Watch me, Jesus.
Come on. Hurry. In the chapel.
Let's go. What are you waiting on? What are you waiting on? Come on. Come on.
Come on. Come on. Come on.
Holy Ghost. The arrows of the Lord. Come on.
Come on. I'm asking you a question. God bless you, kids.
Get on your face before God. Yes. What are you going to do? What are you going to do? Come on.
Yes. Yes. Come on.
I'm running to the mercy seat. Come on. Come on.
I'm running to the mercy seat. God's not finished. Christians, everyone at the altar, I want you to stay right where you're at.
Keep your heads down. You don't seem to understand personally. Friend, I'm telling you something.
You're not getting an option tonight. See, what you're doing is saying, Well, Steve, I'm going to think about this. That wasn't an option.
Remember? I said, Do you want to eat at Shony's? It is a pointed question. What are you going to do with Jesus, who is called Christ? What are you going to do with him? I'm going to go home and think about it. That wasn't an option, friend.
If you do that, you're rejecting him. That's what you're doing. Friend, I want to think about this on my own.
No, friend. No, friend. The more you think about it, the further away from God you will get.
Because a natural mind cannot understand the things of the Spirit. You're going to reason yourself right out of salvation. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, people that had good intentions.
I'm going to get right next year. Religious person, let me warn you, and I've got to warn somebody at home. You can go to hell with baptismal waters all over your face.
And there's a family, you're listening to this right now, and I want to tell you what you got. You've got in a little file box at home, it's a drawer in a desk. As a matter of fact, it's a mahogany desk.
In that drawer, you have certificates of baptism of your family. And you've always kept those as a precious, precious keepsake of the family. And it's almost like the salvation of your family.
I want to tell you something, friend. That won't save you. The only one who's going to save you is Jesus Christ, the blood of the Lamb.
Workers don't let anybody leave this altar area. It's Jesus Christ, the blood of the Lamb. You need to get on your face at home.
A religious person, you can go to hell with baptismal waters all over your face. You can go to hell with a Sunday school certificate hanging on the wall. Number one attendance record of 1996.
You win every Sunday. You can be the teacher of the year at the local Christian school and burn in eternal flames if you don't know Jesus. Don't tell me about him.
Everybody can tell me about him. I want you to tell me, do you know him? Do you wake up in the morning with Jesus on your heart? Do you go to sleep at night with Jesus on your heart? Do you eat, drink, and breathe Jesus? If not, I question if you know him, friend, because you're supposed to be the bride of Christ. And a bride lives in anticipation of that wedding day, always thinking about the groom.
I can't believe you're talking about that, Steve. No one lives like that. Oh, yes, they do.
Millions live like that. There are people all over the world dying tonight, a martyr's death, because they live like that. They live like that.
And they're saying to their tormentors, I love Jesus. And a sword is piercing through their gut. Their homes are being burned right now around the world.
Don't give me that hogwash that you can have a so-so lifestyle and still be heaven-bound. It ain't gonna happen. What are you gonna do with Jesus? Religious person, your denominational ties won't save you.
That's one thing America's waking up to. Represented in this room is every denomination under the sun. We've had them all come to these altars, friend.
Amish, Mennonites, Pentecost, you name it. None of those organizations will save you. Only Christ.
Only Jesus. Here's what we're gonna do. Those of you at the altar, stay right where you're at.
God is doing a deep work in a lot of lives. Dick, I got one more thing I'm gonna say to the group over there in the chapel and right here. Everyone's gonna do this.
I want everyone else, not those of you at the floor, I want you to stay right down there on the carpet. Those of you that are repenting, don't move. Everyone else, I want you to stand.
Those of you that sat down, I want you to get back up. Everyone's gonna turn to the person next to them and you're gonna ask them this question. Don't do it till I'm finished.
You're gonna ask them this pointed question. Do you need Jesus Christ to forgive your sins? Don't ask it yet. That's a pointed question.
You're not asking them, do you want to go to church tomorrow with me? You're not asking them if they feel bad about things they've done wrong. You're asking them a pointed question. Do you need Jesus Christ to forgive your sins? That means is there sin in your life, friend? Is there something there? Now, I'm not talking about you had a little argument with your brother a few minutes ago before the revival.
I'm talking about are you living in the gall of bitterness? Are you a greedy man? Are you an angel around other people and a tyrant at home? That's sin. Do you appear righteous before men, righteous before women, but at home or at work, is there another secret lifestyle going on that you think no one knows about? There's three witnesses, friend, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. They all know about it.
So when someone turns to you and asks you this question, don't hesitate. They're asking you a pointed question. Do you need Jesus Christ to forgive you? Then both of you are going to come down here together.
Do not lie tonight, friend. This is church. You don't lie here.
70,000 people have come down to these altars, friend. And by the way, those of you that are skeptics and critics here, if we counted everyone that came to these altars, we'd be saying 150,000 people. We don't count all these folks, friend.
We slash the number in half. But 70,000 people have come down here. You're going to join them right now if you need forgiveness.
You need the Lord to wash your sins away. During this time, by the way, we've had some of the most dramatic first-time conversions in the revival during this time right now. We've got people working on our prayer team tonight that were saved.
One young man who was a bouncer and a drug addict was saved during this time right now when someone turned to him and said, do you need Jesus Christ to forgive you? He came down. That's when he came down. So don't play games with this, friend.
This is serious. I don't care who the person is next to you, your best friend or a total stranger. I want you to turn to the person next to him right now, ask them if they need Jesus Christ to forgive them, and then bring him down right now.
You be honest if you need forgiveness. Yes, in the chapel. Let's go.
Come on right now. Let's go. Yes, come on.
Yes. Come on right now. Come on.
Come on. Come on. Come on.
God bless you. Yes, come on. Don't lie tonight, friend.
Let's go. In the chapel. Let's go.
Come on, all the way around. Come on down. Come on.
Come on. Those of you in the aisles, I want you to kneel right there in the aisles. I want you to kneel in the aisles.
Kneel right in the aisles. Do I have to kneel to ask forgiveness? Absolutely not, friend, but I'll tell you something happens on your knees. It's good for you.
It's good for you. But I can't kneel. I got arthritis.
All right, friend, this is not a bondage thing. This is not religion. I'm just telling you if you can kneel, you kneel.
Come on. What are you going to do with Jesus who is called the Christ? Let's pray. Everyone in the chapel, Dick, I'm going to lead them in this prayer.
Everyone at this altar, I want you to bow your heads. We're going to ask the Lord to wash our sins away tonight, to cleanse us. Pray with me, everyone in both auditoriums right now.
Dear Jesus, Thank you for speaking to my heart. Thank you, Jesus, for not leaving me alone. Thank you, Holy Spirit, that your arrows are sharp.
They stick fast. They strike like lightning. Thank you tonight that you've asked me this question.
Thank you for giving me the breath to answer it. And I answer yes. I come to you tonight asking forgiveness.
I repent of my sins, wash my sins away. I have hurt you and I've hurt others. Forgive me, Jesus, cleanse me, make me new.
I ask you tonight to be my Savior, my Lord, and my very best friend. I give myself to you 100%. You are my Lord.
You are my Savior. I am yours and you are mine. In your precious name, amen.
Hallelujah. I want everyone at the altar to stand if you would. Everyone stand at the altar.
Don't anyone leave. Everyone stand and face me. Look this way.
Now look this way. In the chapel, I want you to face the screen. I want you to listen to me.
My last point about this question was what? What kind of question is it? Pivotal. You know what a pivot is? It turns. It's a pivotal question.
I saw many of you weeping, moaning and groaning. Others of you weren't. That is not a sign of repentance whether you weep or not.
You can repent and cry and it's wonderful. It is in the Bible. It is.
Weeping is in the Bible. But also, you can make a decision to follow Christ. The Bible says on the day of Pentecost when 3,000 were added to the church, the Bible doesn't say that 3,000 people fell on their face and started moaning and groaning.
It's not clear what happened. But I can guarantee you, friend, on that final day when we meet those folks, you'll find some that cried and some that just stood there and said, I believe that. I'm giving my life to that.
And they died martyrs. You know, and others that wailed and cried before God, and they were the same way. They went after God.
But some cry and backslide and some stand there like this, ask Christ in their life and backslide. What I'm trying to get across to you, I've written a book on tears because I do understand a little bit about tears, that it's not the only sign of repentance. This is a pivotal question tonight, friend.
Look at me. Young people, you turned tonight. You turned.
When you say, yes, Lord, I'm going to follow you, that is a turning, friend. On October 28, 1975, at 11 o'clock in the morning, I turned around and went another direction. It's a pivotal question.
Everything's going to change. Say that with me. Everything's going to change.
Everything, friend. One of these nights I'm going to preach on the true test of Christianity. Some of the seven or eight signs that you can see in your life to tell whether or not you're a Christian.
It's a surefire way to know whether or not you're saved, if these things are in your life. Here's one of the things you're going to have to do before Kerry Robinson comes and shares a couple items with you. That is this, and listen to me in the chapel.
This pivotal part has to do with change. But don't you be one of those that comes up and says, God, get rid of all the junk in my life. No, friend, you get rid of some of the junk in your life.
Okay? You ain't no robot. You're a free agent. When someone comes up to me, what's your name? Chris.
Chris, if you came up to me and said, you want to be my friend? I say, well, Chris, I want to be your friend. Okay, see you later. Bye.
You know? What is that? No, Chris has got to make an effort. I've got to make an effort. Christ has already done everything.
Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You can't do any more than that, friend. Chris, if you said, Steve, for you I die, and you died for me in my place, in an electric chair or something, friend, that was friendship, man.
So he's already done everything. Christ has already done everything. What are you going to do? What you must do is show God that you're serious.
Let go of the hand of evil. Break up with the devil. Get serious.
Shove his articles of affection back in his face. Those things that he's given you. The other night a young lady turned over a necklace that some guy had given her years ago.
A sexual relationship, I'm sure. And it was an old flame that she still wore the necklace. And when she saw the necklace on, it reminded her of him, and that was a devilish relationship.
It wasn't God. But she kept that little trinket. Friend, those little things, the drugs, the pornography, the pictures, the stuff that you have hanging around you that's anti-God and anti-Christ will just pull you down.
That's all it'll do. There ain't nothing like flushing an ounce of marijuana down the toilet. That's breaking up with the devil right there.
When the demons of hell watch that stuff go back where it came from, pouring that whiskey down the toilet, pouring that Miller Lite down the toilet, I want to tell you, friend, something clicks in the heavenlies. You're going to be known in hell, and that's where you want to be known. You want to be known in hell.
You want the devil to tremble when you say Jesus, and when he sees you, you want to be a threat to the kingdom of darkness. And the only way that's going to happen, see, the Bible says, Jesus I know and Paul I know, but who are you? That means you can be known in hell. That's where I want to be known.
I want to be known down there, friend. I want to be a threat to the kingdom of darkness, and the way you do that is get righteous, get holy, get on fire. Listen to Kerry Robinson.
He's going to share three things with you. In just a minute, we're going to pray with everybody in this church, everyone in the chapel. Please be patient.
Don't rush us right now. Praise God. We want to welcome you to the family of God.
You've been born. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
Praise God. Praise God. Thank you, Lord.
I'm going to share some things with you in just a minute. Before I do, I want to speak to the children for just a moment. If there are children at the altar, you're under 10 years of age, 10 years or under, we want to let you meet with our children's pastor.
He's standing with that question mark over there. It's Pastor Van, and he's going to take you in the back back here, and he's going to tell you the same thing I'm going to tell these adults, but he's going to tell you on your level. He's going to give you some literature on your level.
And so, workers, if you see a child 10 years of age and under standing near you, help them get through the crowd and get around to the left and to the right, and Pastor Van's going to meet you right around back here. And mom and dad, if you're down here with your kid or your kid came down and you're out there and you want to go with them, please feel free to go. Pastor Van's going to, he's going to just share with them a little bit on their level the same things we're going to talk to here.
And so, help us with this. Get them to the left and to the right and let Pastor Van see them. Well, there are three things I want to talk to you about real quickly, and then we're going to pray with you and give you some literature and love on you a little bit, reassure you about the decision you've made tonight, and help you to find a good place to worship.
First off, I want to tell you that you need to get in Revival services as often as you can, okay? If you live within an hour, two hours of here, come on to Revival two or three times a week. Just come on to Revival. You say, man, I work.
Don't you know that? We work, too. All of us work. These people are going to be praying with you.
They all work, and they're here almost every single night. Listen, God will bless you, and God will cause you to mature quickly if you'll come to these Revival services. We've got people who've just been saved a few months, and they're more mature than some people that have been saved for years and just live it out there in a normal church.
Listen, you need to be in the fire. You were born in it, and you need to stay in it, okay? So find your Revival service and be here at this Revival. If you're from out of town and you can't get here, it's too far for you to get here, ask around.
There are Revival fires burning all over this nation now. Listen, it isn't going to be too long before you're not going to have to look for Revival. It's going to be so evident that you won't have to look around.
But there are Revival fires near you. I'm telling you right now, they're there. And if you'll ask around, you can find one near you.
And if there isn't one near you, guess what? God's going to use you as kindling to begin one. Hallelujah. So get in Revival and stay in Revival because you'll grow rapidly, and you'll grow quickly.
The second thing you need to do is you need to join a good Bible-believing, Bible-preaching church. Listen, we've been taught theology until it's running out of our ears. What we need is something just like Steve gave us tonight.
Period. Explanation point. Question.
Make a decision. That's the kind of church you want to go to. It doesn't matter what the name is on the door.
What's preached over this pulpit is what is important. Listen, you can find a church somewhere that preaches this word. There are hundreds of good churches in this country that preaches this word in its purity and in its simplicity, and you want to join that church.
Listen, when you join, don't go sit down on the pew and say, Okay, preacher, what can you do for me? No. When you join, you tell the preacher, The day you join, I'm not here for you to do something for me. I'm here to do something for you.
I'm making myself available. I'm a soldier, and I'm enlisting in the army right now, and you can call on me, and you can count on me. You can preach it as hard as you want, as hot as you want, and I'm going to say amen, and I'm going to give, and I'm going to tithe, and I'm going to get in here and serve God with you, preacher.
I'm going to be your best supporter. That's what it means to be joining a good Bible-believing church. The third thing you need to do is you need to be baptized in water.
Those of you that were here last night, behind that curtain up there, there were 20 people baptized in water, 20 people that have been saved in this revival. Next Friday night, we're going to be baptizing 20 more. If you've gotten saved in this revival tonight, and you're at this altar, you're going to be here next Friday night.
You want to be baptized, call the church office, and you'll stand in that pool next Friday night, and you'll be, this microphone will be put before you, and you'll be able to testify to the decision that you made tonight and be baptized before these folks. Listen, baptism is nothing more than a watery grave. It's a testimony to you and to everyone that sees you that you've died to that old life when you're put in the water.
You're being resurrected to a new life, and you're not the same person anymore. It's a witness, okay? Why do I need to be baptized? Aren't I saved? Yes, you are saved right now, period. Okay? You are saved right now, period.
But you need to be baptized because Jesus said you need to be baptized. The Scripture says repent and be baptized. Okay? That's the only reason you need.
There are theological ramifications, and I can tell you those, but you don't need those. You just need to know that you've repented, and the next step is baptismal. Listen, obey God.
If you'll just obey God, the people that obey God are those that God blesses. I mean, God rushes to bless those that obey Him. So don't beat around the bush about it.
Don't call a committee meeting. Don't call one of your unsaved friends. Don't call one of your friends that's been saved 20 years and never been baptized and say, what do you think? Listen, they're already in rebellion.
They haven't been baptized anyway, and so you don't need their advice. You just need to do what God says do, okay? Just do what God says do. All right? Those three things.
Come to revival, join a good Bible-believing church, and get in there and support it, and be baptized in water by immersion. Those three things. Do those three things, and all of heaven's gonna begin to break out in your life.
Now, right near you, there's a person, and they have on a purple badge, and it says prayer team member and a prayer ministry team, or there may be someone with a yellow badge that says pastor or pastor's spouse. We're having to press some pastors and their spouses into service tonight because there's so many of you. They're gonna talk to you, and they're gonna give you some literature, and they're gonna pray with you, and they're gonna love on you a little bit, and if you need a Bible, tell them.
If you need a reference to a local church, tell them, and there's a good possibility they may know of a good church right near you. So right now, turn around. Those people are gonna talk to you.
Do not leave the altar. Do not go sit down. If you came forward, you're in the aisles.
Stay right where you are down front. Stay right where you are until these people have spoken with you, okay? God bless you. God bless you.
Folks, we're gonna pray for everybody in just a little bit, but listen. This is the most important thing that goes on in this revival, this right here, and we can't rush it, and we don't apologize for it. This is what it's about.
So just be patient with us. We're gonna get to you in just a few moments.
