Enduring To The End - In Faithfulness And Goodness

Zac Poonen · 26:17

Zac Poonen teaches that enduring to the end in faithfulness and goodness involves trusting God's providence, forgiving others completely, and serving quietly without seeking recognition.
In this teaching, Zac Poonen encourages believers to endure faithfully by trusting in God's providential care, serving humbly without seeking recognition, and embracing forgiveness as a vital spiritual discipline. Drawing from Scripture, he highlights the importance of a clean conscience, the power of God's love as demonstrated through Jesus, and the assurance of God's provision through all trials. This sermon challenges Christians to live with a heavenly perspective, ready for Christ's return and effective in their service.

Those videos were just to encourage all of you to know that God is at work in many parts of the world. Most of you sitting here know nothing about it, because we do not advertise God's work. And even these videos that we just saw are not going to be circulated along with the rest of this video.

The rest of this video will go on YouTube, but not those pictures. We do not believe in advertising our work. If you go to the CFC website, anyone who doesn't know about our work will go to the CFC website and think there's only one church in the whole world, because there's no mention of any other church in the CFC website.

I remember many years ago, it was in those days, in the early days, you know, we had these cameras where you put a roll of film inside and then take 36 pictures, and then take out the roll, wind it all up. You got to make sure it doesn't see the light and give it to a studio where in a dark room they develop it and they print the pictures. I don't know, some of you have never seen that, but some of our older people know how pictures were printed in those days.

And I remember in those days, the Lord telling me, you see that roll of picture you see inside that camera, you have to be very careful that it does not get exposed to the light, because everything will get wiped out. It's what's called a negative in that camera. Children, I'll tell you this is the old story in the ancient days when we had such cameras.

You cannot expose it to the light. It has to be taken to a dark room, and there they print it and you get the picture which you took. And the Lord said, your work must be like that.

Don't expose it to the light. Keep it in the dark room. One day when Christ comes, everybody will see.

And so the work of CFC Bangalore or CFC All Our Churches, I myself don't know. I don't need to know. I know there are godly men and godly women in these places, sincerely serving the Lord.

No one interested in money, not interested in honor, quietly serving the Lord. And I tell you, I myself will get tremendous surprises when Christ comes again. I said, Lord, this brother, I don't even know who he was.

And he did such a fantastic work here. And this other person, and this sister. Boy, we're going to get a lot of surprises when Christ comes again.

Many who are first will be last. Many who are last will be first. I rejoice in that day.

I rejoice in that day when the hidden members of the body will get their rightful honor and will get the reward they deserve from the Lord. I say that to encourage most of you sitting here and never come into the pulpit. I want to encourage you, my brother, sister, in the coming days to Jesus comes again.

Be faithful. Are you a mother? Take care of your children. You may never get into a pulpit.

Bring up your children to be godly. And in their ways, they could build the church. You bring up your daughters in such a way that they can become good wives to some godly men.

And pray for your children regularly, that every one of them will be a servant of the Lord. We must pray. My wife and I constantly pray for our sons, even now.

So as we look ahead, I look ahead with total confidence. I want to say this on behalf of all of you. We don't know what lies ahead.

It's all unknown. But we know that our Heavenly Father has planned everything. I read in Psalm 139, a verse that has tremendously helped me.

Psalm 139. It says, from my mother's womb, He formed me, in the verse 13. It applies to all of us.

And while I was not even formed, verse 16, inside my mother's womb, God had in His book, means His mind. All the days that were planned for me, were written before I was born on November 1939. Before you were born, your entire life is written down in God's mind.

And I say, verse 17, how precious are your thoughts, how vast is the sum of them. So, I don't know, little by little, God unfolds those days. And until that day, what shall we pray? I'll tell you what we should pray every day.

Verse 23 and 24. Search me, O God. Don't let me judge other people.

That's not my business. You are the only judge in the universe. My dear brothers and sisters, please learn something that I have learned through 65 years.

Learn it quickly. There is only one judge in the universe. How many people judge others? He did this, that person did this, that person, this is why they did it, this, oh my God, have mercy on me.

I've done it myself in my younger days, but I finished with it. Don't condemn. There is only one judge.

He can do his job without your help, without my help. In the coming days, I humbly request you, give up all judgment. Don't condemn.

God can do his work without your help. Be merciful as God is merciful to you. Forgive as God has forgiven you.

Forgive everyone. Release them. Say, I do not remember your sin anymore like God has said to you.

Your life from now on will be extremely happy and God will use you to build this church in a hidden way and maybe not in with a lot of public honor. What you should pray is verse 23. Search me, O God.

Know my heart. Try me. Know my anxious thoughts.

And I like the living Bible paraphrase of the next, Lord, show me if there's anything in me that is making you sad. When it says hurtful way means hurting God, not hurting me. I'm not afraid that God will hurt me.

There are two types of fear of God. One is the fear that God may hurt me. I don't have that fear.

The other fear I have is that I may hurt God. Which fear do you have? That God will hurt you or that you might hurt God? Get rid of the fear that God will hurt you. He won't hurt you.

He's a loving father. You must have this fear that you might hurt God by something you say, something you do, some way you judge some person, you're hurting God, hurting God. We have done it enough.

Shall we finish with it today? Shall we look forward to a days when there will be no more hurting God? Lord, point out anything in me that's making you sad. I want to get rid of it. I say that before God.

Lord, point out in me anything that's making you sad. I want to get rid of it in my life. The greatest truth in the whole Bible that God has taught me, you've heard me say this before, is John 17 23.

God loves me as he loved Jesus. There's no greater truth in the whole Bible than that. If you're a disciple, God loves you as much as he loved Jesus Christ.

In the beginning of this whole session, we sang that song. This is the good news, what God can do. What he did for Jesus, he will do for you.

As he helped Jesus, he will help you. He will strengthen you. Everything he did for Jesus, he'll do for you because he's our eldest brother.

It's a wonderful truth to know Jesus as the eldest brother in the family. I'm not telling stories. Romans 8 29.

He's the first among many brothers. That's why on the day of the resurrection, for the first time, he called his disciples his brothers. They were not his brothers.

They were his disciples and they were his friends. But on the day of resurrection, he told Mary Magdalene, go and tell my brothers. That's what the resurrection did.

We are younger brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ. Don't fight with each other. Love one another.

God loves you as much as he loved Jesus Christ. What he did for Jesus, he will do for me. I have four sons and I've tried in my human understanding to the best of my ability.

I was not partial to any of them. Whatever I could do for my eldest son, I did for all my other three sons. I'm a fallen person, a human being, not perfect.

And if I could be so fair to do everything for my youngest sons as I did for the eldest, what about God whose eldest son is Jesus and we are his younger sons? Are you saying he won't do it for me? Are you saying that God is less righteous than Zachariah? If I could do for even my youngest son, everything that I could do for my eldest son, I did for him. God will do for every one of his children what he did for his eldest son, Jesus Christ. Believe it.

That's what made me write that song. What he did for Jesus, he will do for you. As he cared for Jesus, he will care for you in your time of need.

Teach your children that when they go away from home, that as he cared for Jesus, he will care for you. That is the gospel we have preached here and it's almost not preached anywhere else. You tell me if there's any church that preaches that God will care for you as he cared for Jesus.

I've never heard it in my life. It's like a revelation God has given to CFC. Let's live in it.

And if God has been so good to us, we have to be good to others. Before we were born, he knew us as we see here in Psalm 139. So what if the world and Satan are all against us? Romans 16 says the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet.

I believe that. Not that he was already defeated on Calvary, Satan. But he'll be crushed under our feet, it says in Romans 16.

I remember one day the Lord told me, as you were afraid of Satan, from now on, Satan will be afraid of you. He's not afraid of me. He's afraid because Christ is living in me.

He's afraid of that Christ who lives in me. And I know Christ has free way in my life because of one reason. I keep my conscience spotlessly clean.

God is my witness. It is as soon as I'm aware of something, I immediately clean it. Be like that.

And I tell you, mark my words, Satan will be afraid of you. You need never be afraid of Satan anymore. Keep your conscience absolutely clear.

God is your father. But the religious world will hate you. Your brothers and relatives may hate you.

Let me read to you John, what we, Jesus, members of his own family hated him. And he said, this is a paraphrase of Jesus' words. He said, your brothers and sisters will turn against you.

Read Matthew 10. Even those closest to you, your brothers and sisters will betray you and have you arrested. You'll be hated because you are mine.

Read Matthew 10 sometime. He also said in John chapter 7 and verse 7, the religious world hates me because I keep telling it that its ways are evil. Did you hear that? The religious world, is it not talking about the Greeks and the Romans? He was talking about the Pharisees who read the Bible.

And it's what I say today of Christians. Why do Christians hate CFC? The religious world hates me because I keep telling it that its ways are evil. So what shall we say? Stop saying that.

No, we'll say that. And the protection God has promised in Isaiah, Luke 21, 16 to 18 is not one hair of your head will perish. No weapon turned against you, Isaiah 54, 17 will ever succeed.

You will have justice in every courtroom when they tell lies against you. What a word. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord.

Dear brothers and sisters, I'll tell you from the few years that I've served the Lord, it's a wonderful thing. In every trial and difficult situation that I have faced, the Lord has allowed me to face what all planned by him to enable me to know his power and to experience his deliverance. And I'm thankful for all the ways in which he took me through different paths to prepare me to face these different things.

And I tell you, don't question God in the trials he takes you through. Never doubt that God will always provide for you, you little children. I wish you would remember that as you grow up.

You're so insecure, you go to school, you go to college, you're wondering what lies in the future. You see everything getting so bad around you. Trust in your father in heaven.

Call him daddy. He is your daddy. You children, we want the children growing up in CFC churches to know God is their daddy.

Talk to him in the morning, call him daddy and say, daddy, thank you. You care for me. It's true.

He may take us through trials. Sometimes we don't understand why God forces us to be in some situation. I've seen so many children on the first day.

Haven't you seen this? I've seen this too. The first day you take your child to the kindergarten class. They've never been to school.

They've always been at home. And you take them to the kindergarten class in the first day and they're crying and they see you leaving them there and going. They've never seen their father do that before or mother.

They cry and cry and cry. What do you do? Go back and pick up your child. The child will never get an education.

What do you do? You leave your child. You see them crying and you say goodbye. Goodbye, my girl.

Goodbye. And the child can't understand you hate him to leave him there in that school. You love him more than he realizes.

That's why God leaves you in some situation. You can cry as much as you like, but he'll say, be there, be there. 15, 20 years from now, say, thank you, mommy, for not taking me back from that kindergarten class.

Thank you. And one day you will say to God, thank you for leaving me in that situation and leaving me as it were alone. I became strong.

I became a man of God. I became a woman of God. I'm not going to tell you all the things God took me through, but it made me what I am.

It helped me to serve God the way I have served. I will never doubt God's provision. He says in Philippians 4.19, one of my favorite words, my God will supply all, A-L-L, all your need according to his riches and glory in Christ Jesus.

Take that word with you. Whatever your need is, spiritual, physical, financial, I have proved it for 60 years almost of full-time Christian work. Never asking anybody, never depending on anybody for anyone.

People don't know, only my wife and I know how we have gone through struggles, sure, but never once did we have to starve. Never once did we have to tell the school, sorry, we can't pay our children's school fees this year. Never.

Never once could we have to leave our child helpless when they are sick. Every situation God provided, we could write a book about it, many books. He will provide for you, tell you that, and one day you will grow up, your children, and you will tell other people what I'm telling you today.

That's what we want, generation after generation growing up saying, we have a faithful God who loves us as much as he loved Jesus. He will, what he did for Jesus, he will do for us. He will strengthen me.

He'll never let me down. And I'll never doubt God's provision. The work that you've seen here is not the work of one man or two people.

Some may be highlighted in the pictures, but it's been the work of a team. This work, I mean, you hear me speaking now, that so many things in our body, I don't know, I'm not a doctor, but there are many things in this body that make me capable of standing here and speaking. It's exactly the same in the body of Christ.

In CFC, we seek to build the body of Christ. Everybody is valuable. Some may not be so visible.

You see my face visible. So many parts inside me you'll never see in my life. I've not seen it myself.

But those are the parts inside the body that are working, working, working, working and never getting any credit. The credit is given to this face. That's how it is.

Some people stand up in front and get the credit. There are many people behind the scenes. Be willing to be one of the liver or the kidney or so, maybe one small blood vessel.

Are you willing to be a small blood vessel in the body of Christ? I say yes. You put me up in front and gave me a prominent, but if you put me as a small blood vessel in the body of Christ, I'm happy just to keep letting the blood flow without any blockage, which means I don't keep any sin in my life. And the Lord says, let the blood flow you and I say, yes, Lord, will you be that? One day God will reward you.

I can assure you one last thing, which I keep saying everywhere nowadays, forgive others. I've been saying it for the whole last one or two years. And I asked the Lord, Lord, why are you making me emphasize forgiveness so much? Are you coming soon? Is that the reason why you're laying this burden on my heart? And I am feeling why is the Lord telling me to teach people to forgive, forgive, forgive.

Perhaps his coming is near and he wants to prepare you so that you'll be ready. And one way you can be ready is you forgive every single human being who ever did you harm in your whole life. If you haven't done that, do it today.

I live like that every day. Not a single human being is there whom I have not forgiven. Many people have done me harm.

I'm a servant of the Lord and therefore the devil has provoked many people to do me harm. I say before God, I have forgiven every one of them, not only forgiven. I do not wish any evil for any of them.

I wish they will all get converted and get into God's kingdom. That is the greatest good I can wish for them. I do not wish any judgment.

I say, Lord, forgive them, forgive them. They don't know what they're doing. They don't know that they are hurting a servant of God.

They don't know who I am. They think I'm a false teacher. Forgive them, Lord, forgive them.

They don't know. Father, forgive them. But they don't know the seriousness of what they're doing.

We know it. Now, I'm not forgiving. No, you can forgive for two reasons.

One is if I don't forgive, God won't forgive me. It's like a contract with God. Okay, Lord, if that is the condition, I'll forgive that fellow.

I don't hate him, but I'll forgive him because I want you to forgive me. That is not how I forgive. I say, Lord, that poor man, he doesn't know what he's doing.

He's hurting himself when he hurts me. He doesn't know what he's doing when he hurts a servant of God. It's a crime worse than murder.

Please forgive him because he doesn't know the seriousness of it. I don't want any judgment to come on him. I want you to forgive him.

I want to hug him. I want to see him in heaven. I don't want him to go to hell.

I forgive him completely, Lord. As far as my part is concerned, he's forgiven. Take that attitude and I tell you, you will live long.

You will fulfill your life's purpose on earth. God will bless you and your children will be blessed and he'll make you a blessing to many. The promise of Abraham will be fulfilled.

I will bless you and your family and many people on earth will be blessed because of you. I pray that will be true for everyone sitting here and all those who hear this message. Let us pray.

So like I always say at the end of a meeting, let's take a brief moment and think of even children. Is there anybody who hurt you whom you have not forgiven? Please forgive him right now before you get up from that seat. Please say, Lord, I forgive this person.

Name them. Name them. I forgive this person and that person.

They don't know what they're doing. Forgive them. They don't know the seriousness of what they're doing.

They don't know whom they're hurting. They're hurting a child of God. They're hurting the child of a king.

Forgive him, Lord. Forgive him. Forgive him.

Everyone. Name them. This person, this person, this person.

Lord, and there are so many others I don't remember. I want to forgive all of them right now. I don't, I have nothing against any human being on the face of the earth.

You have cleansed me. The greatest sinner of all, you forgave me. I can forgive everybody.

I want to get up from my seat today as a man who's forgiven every human being and has got nothing against any human being on the face of the earth. And Lord, from now on, I want to trust you. I know my days and numbers are numbered and written in your book and nothing takes you by surprise.

You have planned my whole future and no good thing will you ever withhold from us. We have a loving Father and our number one prayer is not that you will bless us. Our number one prayer, Heavenly Father, is that you will bless us.

Hallowed be your name. Let your name be respected in India and in every country. Let your kingdom come soon on this earth and let your will be done in my life, in my family, in my church, and all over the world, exactly as it is done in heaven.

Like the angels obey you, let it be done, Lord. Wherever in my circle I want your will to be done. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Don't let us face temptation too strong for us. We know you won't do it, but we just want to remind ourselves. Strengthen us to overcome the enemy.

Make us fearless against Satan to hate sin with all our heart. Deliver us from the accusative spirit that Satan has of accusing the brothers. Let's finish with that.

Lord, I want to live in the spirit of forgiveness. Cleanse me of all that spirit of accusation that I've had in past years. I bow before you.

This is not just a day of celebration of a jubilee, but a revival of many people who have revived in their spirit. And Lord, in conclusion, we pray, fill us with the Holy Spirit. Strengthen us mightily with power from on high, so that we can be equipped to serve you and be your witnesses.

We don't deserve this, but we ask it for the glory and in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
