For the dative construction as in Eph_5:19 , Col_3:16 , cf. from the LXX Jdt_16:1 (2) ᾄσατε τῷ κυρίῳ , and such passages as Philostr. Imag. i. xi. 780 Καΰστρῳ ταῦτα καὶ Ἴστρῳ ᾄσονται , Heliod. Aethiop. v. 15 ἐμβατήρια ᾄδ . Διονύσῳ (Nδgeli, p. 42). For the passive see P Giss I. 99 .8 (ii/iii A.D.) ὕμνοι μὲν ἄι [δονται ] γλώτ̣τῃ ξενικῇ .
