In the great Mysteries Inscription of Andania, Syll 653 .23 (B.C. 91), it is laid down regarding the ἱεραὶ γυναῖκες μὴ ἐχέτω δὲ μηδεμία χρυσία . . . μηδὲ ὑποδήματα εἰ μὴ πίλινα ἢ δερμάτινα ἱερόθυτα .
