on the second day pertaining to the second of two days Some persons have interpreted δευτεραῖος as a period of two days, so that one may translate ‘after two days we came to Puteoli.’ Though general Greek usage does not seem to substantiate this meaning for δευτεραῖος, the context of ACT 28:13 may involve a span of two days.
