¹ διόπερ may be regarded as somewhat more emphatic than διό. ² Since the result is stated as an inference based upon what has preceded, one may translate this expression of result as ‘for this reason’ or ‘for this very reason.’ What precedes constitutes the reason, but the result may be effectively introduced by referring back to the reason.
