ἐκ, before a vowel ἐξ, a preposition governing the genitive. Also, it denotes exit or emission out of, as separation from, something with which there has been close connection; opposed to the prepositions εἰς into and ἐν in: from out of, out from, forth from, from, (Latine, ex) (cf. Its use to note the price is related, because the money is as it were, changed into that which is bought (the simple genitive of price is more common, cf. Winers Grammar, 206 (194); (Buttmann, § 132, 13)): ἀγοράζειν τί ἐκ τίνος, Mat_27:7 (Bar_6:1-73 (i. e., epistle of Jeremiah); Mat_27:24); κτᾶσθαι ἐκ, Act_1:18 (ὠνεῖσθαι ἐκ, Palaeph. 46, 3f); συμφώνειν ἐκ δηναρίου (because the agreement comes from the promised denary (cf.
