This late word (for the form, see Proleg. p. 99), which in the NT is confined to 2Pe_2:3 ; 2Pe_3:5 , occurs in P Oxy VI. 938 .3 (iii/iv A.D.) ἔκπαλαι ἐπισταλεὶς δώδεκα σαργάνας χόρτου ἐκεῖ ἀποστεῖλαι , although you had been long ago instructed to send twelve baskets of hay thither (Edd.) : cf. the fragmentary OGIS 584 .5 (ii/A.D.) δι᾽ ὧν ἔκπαλαι αὐτὴν ( sc. τὴν πατρίδα ) εὐεργέ [τησεν . Ἔκτοτε is found in P Oxy VIII. 1119 .28 (A.D. 254) ἔκτοτε μαθ̣[ὼν ὑπέστ ]η̣ν τὴν ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν λειτουργίαν , thereafter on learning this I undertook the burden on their behalf : cf. ib. III. 486 .9 (A.D. 131).
