1 ACT 2:33 It is possible that ἐκχέω in ACT 2:33 denotes only ‘to cause to exist.’ However, it seems more likely that the figurative force of ἐκχέω implies ‘an abundance of that which exists.’ 2 Verbs employing the stem χεο differ from ῥέω to flow (14.17), are less generic in meaning, and frequently imply a more restricted quantity of liquid. In classical Greek ῥέω and related derivatives were employed more in poetic discourse.
