In the directions for a love-philtre, P Lond 121 .463 (iii/A.D.) (= I. p. 99) we have ἕλιξον κ (αὶ ) β [ά ]λε εἰς θάλασσαν : cf. further the magic papyri ib. 122 .67 (iv/A.D.) (= I. p. 118) ἑλλίξας τὸ ὑπόλοιπον τοῦ ῥάκους περὶ τὸν τράχηλόν σου , and ib. 46 .405 (iv/A.D.) (= I. p. 78) αἰθέριον δρόμο (ν ) εἱλίσσων . The compound συνελίσσω is found P Oxy I. 113 .4 (ii/A.D.) συνήλλιξα ἐκείνη̣ τῆι ἐπιστολῇ δεῖγμα λευκόϊνα , I enclosed in the former packet a pattern of white-violet colour (Edd.), P Giss I. 25 .7 συ̣ν̣ήλιξα οὖν τὴν ἐπιστολὴν Ἀπολλωτᾶτος̣ τῇ Ἐρμοφίλου .
