The Greek translation of a will originally written in Latin is headed Ἑρμηνί ]α διαθήκης (BGU I. 326 i. 1 ii/A.D.). Attached to it is Ἑρμηνία κωδικίλλων διπτύχων ( ib. ii. 15 ). Cf. P Oxy XII. 1466 .3 (A.D. 245) and P Thead 13 ii. 1 (A.D. 322 or 323), and see P Fay 23 .11 (ii/A.D.) for an ἐπιτ (ηρητὴς ) ἑρμηνίας . Vett. Val. p. 4 .5 <ὁ > δὲ τοῦ Ἑρμοῦ σημαίνει παιδείαν , γράμματα , ἔλεγχον , λόγον , ἀδελφότητα , ἑρμηνείαν , κηρυκείαν κτλ . In the MGr Velvendos dialect ὁρμήνεια = counsel, advice.
