to make a eunuch, to castrate (derivative of εὐνοῦχος[a] ‘eunuch,’ 9.25) to cause a person to be a eunuch Sometimes one may render εὐνουχίζω as ‘to cause a person not to be able to have marital relations.’
In a number of languages the castration of a man is referred to by a term very different from what is employed in the case of the castration of an animal.
