A somewhat unusual use of the verb is found in P Ryl II. 162 .27 (A.D. 159) where a woman who has bought a half share of a house is described as εὐ̣π̣ο̣ρ̣[οῦσα σὺν τοῖς ] νυ̣ͅν̣ δικαί [ο ]ις πᾶσι καὶ πωλοῦσα καὶ ὑποτιθο̣ῦσα κτλ ., enjoying it with all present rights, having the power of sale, mortgage, etc. (Edd.).
