ζευκτηρία , which occurs in Act_27:40 and according to Grimm is found nowhere else, may now be illustrated from the neut. plur. of the adj. in P Oxy VI. 934 .5 (iii/A.D.) εἰς τιμὴν ζευκτηρίων δραχμὰς ἑξήκοντα , as the price of yokes 60 drachmae : cf. PSI IV. 286 .20 (iii/iv A.D.), CP Herm I. 95 .18 . In P Lond 1177 .167 (A.D. 113) (= III. p. 185) σχοινίων καὶ ζευκτηρίων , and in P Flor I. 16 .26 (A.D. 239) τοῦ τε φο̣ρέτρου̣ [κ ]αὶ μηχανῆς καὶ ζευκτηρίω̣(ν ) the word is used in connexion with the mechanism of a water-wheel.
