ζέω is found in its literal sense in a iii/A.D. recipe, P Lond 121 .170 (= I. p. 89) ᾠὸν ὅμοιον μήλον ( l. μήλῳ ) γενέσθαι ζέσας τὸ ᾠὸν χρείε κρόκῳ μείξας μετ᾽ οἴνου : cf. the medical recipe P Oxy XI. 1384 .36 (v/A.D.) λαβὸν ( l. ὼν ) μῆλα κυπαρίσου ζέσας κλοίζου , take the fruit of a cypress, boil it and apply (Edd.). MGr ζέσι , ζέστη , heat, and ζεσταίνω , make warm.
